The USS El Dorado was a 24th century Federation Defiant class starship operated by Starfleet.
During the Dominion War, the USS El Dorado rescued a Gorn servitor named Sithick from a Klingon escape pod that was jettisoned from the IKS Roc’Tar before its destruction. The officers and crew of the El Dorado gave the refugee basic Starfleet enlisted training before dropping him off at Black Opal Station.
After the USS Theurgy discovered the conspiracy that compromised Starfleet and fled Federation space, the El Dorado was selected to be part of Task Force Archeron and ordered to hunt down and destroy the errant carrier.
In March of 2381 the El Dorado was disabled by Lieutenant Commander Carrigan Trent's "Soup Sandwich" virus, but a week later had recovered sufficiently to participate in the Battle of Starbase 84.
