USS Veracruz

The USS Veracruz was a 24^th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet.

Operations Officer Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Anya Ziegler transferred to the USS Veracruz in 2367 where she served with distinction for the next eleven years despite discovering that her lover from Starfleet Academy was engaged to someone else on the day of her transfer. She was promoted three times during her service aboard the Veracruz, to lieutenant (senior grade) in 2369, to lieutenant commander with the position of chief of operations in 2372, to commander with the accompanying additional position as the ship's second officer following the second officer's death in 2376.

Ziegler served on the Veracruz throughout the Dominion War. In 2375, the ship brought relief troops and engineers for the besieged forces defending a captured Dominion communication array on AR-558 in the Chin'toka system.

During these Ziegler's best friend was a CONN officer named Anderson West who served aboard the Veracruz from 2367 before transferring off the ship in 2377.

In 2378, Commander Anya Ziegler left the Veracruz to become the executive officer of the newly commissioned USS Theurgy.
