The USS James Kirk was a Federation starship serving in Starfleet in the late 2370's. Tessa May Lance served aboard the James Kirk the year after she graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2377. At the time Christopher Slayton‘s older brother Marcus Slayton was serving as executive officer. During the year Tessa Lance served aboard the Kirk she met a Vulcan helmsman named Sh'muk who was a master of the Terran game of pool.
