Below Decks was a recreational lounge area occupying much of the aft center of Deck 28 on the USS Theurgy.

Features

  • Synthetic chromatophores - allowed for coordinated and thematic color alterations of the carpeting, seating and walls
  • Liquid crystal lighting systems - configurable, dynamic lighting system in the tables, bar ceiling and decking that could emulate everything from full daylight to subdued candlelight
  • Ambient atmospheric control system - limited, independent atmospheric control to allow for separate temperature and humidity modulation; this system was also tied into the fire suppression systems for the galley
  • Holographic stage area and view screens - positioned at the lower after of the tertiary hull, the view screens allowed for a forward view; alternatively, images of landscapes could be broadcast to provide experiences similar to an outdoor tratoria overlooking any of a wide variety of landmarks and terrains. The staging area itself could be utilized to augment the view screens by including intrusive elements such as waterfalls within the lounge, but could also function as an actual stage for live, recorded or holographic performances. When not otherwise in use, additional seating could be generated.
  • Integrated Holomatrix Network - although not as sophisticated as an actual holodeck, the lounge possessed an integrated holomatrix that could be used to generate holographic servers to assist in the operation of the lounge as well as implement some standardized configuration changes such as obscuring the galley and storage areas and generation of a larger assortment of seating configurations to supplement the existing furniture; localized projectors at each table allowed patrons to engage in a large area of table-top entertainment including kal-toh, kadis-kot, kotra, tri-dimensional chess, go, terrace, durotta, stratagema, tongo, and even fizzbin etc. Another configuration allows for the creation of a gambling area including dabo, pool, dom-jot, etc. tables
  • Galley
  • Storage
  • Adjacent proprietor's quarters
