Starbase 147

Starbase 147 was a Federation starbase operated by Starfleet during the 24th century.
During the 2360’s, the 2nd Fleet Reserve was stationed at Starbase 147, including the USS Jeb Stuart.
In 2369 LIeutenant Ranaan Ducote, a security officer transferred from the Jeb Stuart to Starbase 147 where he investigated breaches in excise and security.
In 2372, a smuggled starship-scaled plasma torpedo was detonated on Starbase 147’s promenade deck. The incident was blamed on Romulan agitators, but was never proven. LIeutenant Ducote was the first response teams to the attack, but half Betazoid officer was overwhelmed by the pain and shock and fear of the survivors, battering down his psyche over the course of two days of nearly non-stop physical effort. The lengthy investigation that followed ate away at the remnants of his self-confidence and he was forced to accept medical leave for psychological counseling. He eventually chose to return to Starfleet Academy to study for the Science Department rather than return to Security and did not return to the starbase.
(Although not explicitly stated, it would seem that Starbase 147 was an orbital facility like a Orunal-class station or one of the Deep Space outposts.)
