The USS Sydney was a 24th century Federation Galaxy-class starship operated by Starfleet.

After finishing her flight training Soo Young Seung was assigned to the USS Sydney in 2373 as an enlisted fighter pilot. At some point during her time aboard the USS Sydney the starship was drawn into the Delta Quadrant and was attacked by Hirogen Hunter Raiders. When the Sydney was disabled by an ion cannon strike Soo Young Seung proposed that the Sydney’s fighter wings harass the Hirogen ships and draw them away from the Sydney to allow the crew time to complete repairs.

After the USS Theurgy discovered the conspiracy that compromised Starfleet and fled Federation space, the Sydney was selected to be part of Task Force Archeron and ordered to hunt down and destroy the errant carrier.

In March of 2381 the Sydney was disabled by Lieutenant Commander Carrigan Trent's "Soup Sandwich" virus.
