Biography
Andram Obair was born in Rixx, the capital city of Betazed, in 2351. He was born to a human father and betazoid mother; his mother mostly cared for him as a child. His father was a Starfleet JAG officer and later diplomatic officer, his mother a professor at the University of Betazed, teaching humanoid neuroscience. He grew up under the strict guidance of the two intellectuals, and was seen as one of the most promising youths of his generation on Betazed. His father’s influence on him made him very keen to the Starfleet lifestyle,  and he spent his teenage years doing extracurriculars and activities that toughened him, both mentally and physically. He joined an amaetuer flight team on Betazed, and became known as one of the better civilian pilots in Rixx. At aged fourteen, his father was transferred full time to the Diplomatic Corps, and he saw much less of his father from then onward, which he heavily resented. Obair’s mother, however, remained a constant presence in her son’s life.

His father was a Starfleet JAG officer and later diplomatic officer, his mother a professor at the University of Betazed, teaching humanoid neuroscience.
Thanks to his intelligence and academic performance, he was admitted to the prestigious University of Betazed and was expected by both parents to attend. However, after a year at the University, Obair withdrew and applied for admission at Starfleet Academy. He found purpose in the academy and its values, and the mission of Starfleet, and was afraid of the limitations a degree from Betazed would hold him to. It did cause somewhat of a rift between him and his family, especially since he would no longer be in the Betazed System, but his father endorsed his application nonetheless. He was accepted shortly afterwards. After his first year at the Academy, he was placed in the elite Red Squad and admitted to flight school. He spent two years in the squadron, but transferred out his senior year, citing issues with a number of other cadets, finding their attitudes to be too inwards and self-driven. It caused a rift between him and his former squadmates, who took great offense to him leaving Red Squad. He still graduated 7th in his class, with high academic honors. After his commissioning, Obair attended the Advanced Tactical Training school at the Academy, and received his first appointment shortly thereafter. He soon found he was more comfortable in a uniform than he was anything else, and took pride in wearing the Starfleet insignia and holding rank, which  drove him in his career to pursue further.

Obair’s first assignment was as a fighter pilot and relief tactical officer aboard the USS Persephone, and joined the ship at the tail end of the Dominion War, and found himself among the ranks of an already battle-hardened crew. He participated in numerous skirmishes as a fighter pilot, but found himself at tactical during the Invasion of Cardassia. A number of his crewmates were killed in the battle, and the officer was the youngest on the bridge to survive the invasion. He became familiar with the peregrine-class fighter, which was eventually phased out during his tenure aboard, and during his last six month, the entire flight crew were operating the newly implemented Mark 1 Valkyrie-class fighters, which were used during the invasion. At the end of his tenure aboard the Persephone, Obiar was awarded the Starfleet Extended Tour Ribbon, nominated by her Captain.
Obair was transferred to the USS Spector as his second assignment, and saw much less time on the bridge during this, having been permanently assigned to a fighter squadron aboard the vessel. This posting saw less action than the Persephone, and he found himself with much more time to study and perfect his skills as a pilot. Obair was injured while the ship found itself in a surprise ion storm, and he spent two weeks in sickbay recovering from his injuries, mostly radiation burns. In a battle against a Bolian splinter group, Obair was awarded an induction into the Grankite Order of Tactics, for a fighter battle in which he single handedly disable a battlecruiser after the loss of his wingman. Following the battle, he was also promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. The violent battles, however, left him much more reserved than many officers had known him as, and took quite a toll on his mental health. The burdens from the Dominion War and other skirmishes left a mark on the young officer, and he gained a new perspective on the workings and purpose of Starfleet.

Obair’s third posting was aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, a Steamrunner-class starship, and joined their fighter squadron with ease. He was now more acclimated to leadership roles, despite still being a junior officer, and was very much respected and looked up to by his peers, especially those younger than he. He particularly enjoyed his posting aboard the Bonhomme Richard, and became well acquainted with both the engineering and tactical crews. During this posting, Obair was also introduced to the Mark II Valkyrie fighter, which he spent countless hours familiarizing himself with, and became the ship’s expert on the new class. The officer grew to be one of the more competent pilots in regards to the upkeep and maintenance of their fighters, and became extremely proficient in engineering, aviation sciences, and mathematics even further than was transmitted to him at the Academy. Many senior officers took notice of his cross training and he was, in the latter half of his assignment, invited to the weekly senior officers meeting, although he wasn’t commanding officer of any department. This resulted in mixed feelings from fellow crew members, who were often impressed or annoyed at his position, most often felt the junior officer was being treated to accommodations only reserved for senior or flag officers. His assignment ended somewhat uneventfully, but his work ethic and his leadership was particularly significant during his posting, and he looked back on the Bonhomme Richard as where he started to get a glimpse at his true potential.

He was accepted shortly afterwards.
Obair’s assignment did not end in grace, however, and it was cut short due to a physical altercation with his fighter squadron commanding officer, Lieutenant Commander Stephen McEloroy. They had quarreled a number of times; McElroy found the junior officer’s status and position on board inappropriate and an infringement upon his position. After their altercation, McElroy convinced the Captain that Obair was a distraction, and he was transferred to the Federation Embassy on Qo’noS when the Bonhomme Richard reached the system. His assignment was allegedly temporary, but Obair found himself in the position much longer than expected. He issued multiple transfer requests as multiple ships took orbit around Qo’noS the following months, but Embassy operations were disturbed during the attempted subversion of Chancellor Martol by Gorka, son of Margon. Obair was forced to seek refuge in the Federation Embassy, and was posted as a reserve security officer after security protocols were heightened at the post. The USS Theurgy arrived to Qo’noS, in support of Chancellor Martok, and Obair got permission for a transfer aboard her after pensions had lessened in the Klingon capitol, assigned to their fighter squadron as akin to previous postings.

Personality Profile
Personality Profile
Obair is a quiet yet intelligent man, and he very much values the opinions of others, often to a fault. He was a people pleaser, and also very honest, with little regard for others feelings. Despite this, he was very sensitive, and took very poorly to criticism, and often quickly susceptible to anger.. He did, however, tend to work well with other officers, yet in a very militaristic and blunt style. He very much valued the respect of his fellow officers, but was often occupied with rank, chasing promotion consistently. Being well acclimated and respected by his fellow crew members was very high on his list of priorities, so he worked very hard in the pursuit of respect. He generally had a high self-esteem, and thought highly of himself, and valued his time at the Academy for boosting his self-image. He speaks strongly, with a deep voice and commanding tone, with eloquent language and choice of words.

His combat experiences has shaped his outlook on the Federation and Starfleet substantially, crediting them as the sincere governing body of the galaxy, especially after seeing the effect the Dominion had on the Federation fleet. He placed much value in the laws and structure of Starfleet as well as what they deem to be important, and he has almost an idealistic view of the organization. He was an extremely loyal officer, and places much trust in anyone with a uniform.

One of Obair’s personal struggles was that between his Human and Betazoid ancestry. Unlike most Betzoids, he rarely used his telepathic abilities, regarding as it unprofessional for an officer and rude to non-telepaths. This was noticed by many of his Betazoid peers, and often not received well, almost as an insult. He regards it as unimportant, however, and takes pride in his ancestry from both worlds.

Obair was slightly above average in height, with an athletic build, and wider shoulders. He had thick black hair that's short and neat. He carried himself well, with his shoulders held back and his chest pushed forward. He had numerous scars from a number of combat injuries, and two tattoos on his left arm in an attempt to cover them up. The irises of his eyes were black, same as those as his Betazoid ancestors. He took his physical health very seriously, and parallels his health with his ability to perform in the field, and put much attention to his overall appearance.

He issued multiple transfer requests as many ships took orbit around Qo’noS the following months, but Embassy operations were disturbed during the attempted subversion of Chancellor Martok by Gorka, son of Margon.

Obair was forced to seek refuge in the Federation Embassy, and had been posted as a reserve security officer after security protocols were heightened at the post. The USS Theurgy arrived to Qo’noS, in support of Chancellor Martok, and Obair got permission for a transfer aboard her after tensions had lessened in the Klingon capitol - assigned to their fighter squadron as akin to previous postings.

Personality Profile

Obair was a quiet yet intelligent man, and he very much valued the opinions of others, often to a fault. Also very honest, with little regard for others feelings. He spoke strongly, with a deep voice and commanding tone, with eloquent language and choice of words.

His combat experiences had shaped his outlook on the Federation and Starfleet substantially, crediting them as the sincere governing body of the galaxy, especially after seeing the effect the Dominion had on the Federation fleet. He placed much value in the laws and structure of Starfleet as well as what they deem to be important, and he had almost an idealistic view of the organization.

He regarded it as unimportant, however, and took pride in his ancestry from both worlds.

Physical Profile

Obair was slightly above average in height, with an athletic build, and wider shoulders. He had thick black hair that was cut short and neat. He carried himself well, with his shoulders held back and his chest pushed forward. He had numerous scars from a number of combat injuries, and two tattoos on his left arm in an attempt to cover them up. The irises of his eyes were black, same as those as his Betazoid ancestors. He took his physical health very seriously, and paralleled his health with his ability to perform in the field, and put much attention to his overall appearance.
