The USS Principle was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet.
Ian Hawthorne served aboard the Principle as an operations officer from 2355 after graduating from Starfleet Academy until he transferred to the USS Absolution in 2359. He was serving aboard the Principle when he received his first promotion and met his wife Trish.
(It is not been revealed what class of starship the USS Principle was, but it is likely that it was an early 24th century vessel such as a Constellation, Miranda, or New Orleans class.)
