The IRW Sunheart was a Romulan D'deridex-class warbird that was in service with the Romulan militaryin the mid 24th century.

In 2372, former pilot of the Romulan warp fighter squadron Rea’s Shades and veteran of the recent Battle of Arkon Uhlan Lillee i-Fennheii t'Jellaieu was assigned to the Sunheart As a helmsman. At the time Starfleet Intelligence had placed an undercover operative named Jiang aboard in the position of the chief tactical officer who formed a romantic relationship with Lillee t'Jellaieu.

In 2373 Sunheart was chosen to test an experimental power source that had the potential to devastate such an astronomical area that the destruction would stretch across several star systems, killing billions, including Romulans. Jiang was forced to reveal himself and enlist Lillee t'Jellaieu’s aid. Together they sabotaged the warbird and destroyed all information on the classified project before madetheir escape in a stolen fighter. When the Sunheart attempted to pursue, it activated the experimental power source and inadvertently destroyed itself, but thankfully did not take multiple star systems with it.
