Lahkesis Saugn was a Medical Officer on the USS Theurgy. Lahkesis Saugn aided in the opposition against the parasites that compromised Starfleet Command in the late 24th century.

Biography

Lahkesis is one of 7 Teslyliac duplicates created from a single genetic template, that of a captain from a bygone age. As with all Teslyliac once the genetic template was introduced to the Teslyliac Plant a unique plant based duplicate was created. Of her 7 sisters only 3 survived, Lahkesis, Clotho, and Atropos. The creation of the 3 was carried out in a secret research facility, it is rumored that their aim was to perfect a new time of legal genetic manipulation using the Teslyliac plant as a template. The Facility itself was located on Teslyliac III, the nearest planet to the original source of the Teslyliac Plant, Teslyliac III

After six months had passed she was fully developed. With access to the research stations data core she learned quickly, and within a year had memorized the majority of the information the research station had to offer.

A year after their creation the research facility was destroyed under mysterious circumstances, killing all of the research facilities staff.

The 3 sisters spent roughly 3 months living in the forests surrounding the facility before they managed to salvage enough parts for a subspace beacon. The designs they new from a set of blueprints they had seen in the data core of the facility. They were rescued by a Federation ship passing through the system and brought them to Earth for further study at the Daystrom Institute.

For the next several years they were studied at the Daystrom Institute on Earth, where they made a home for themselves, developing relationship with many of the members of the staff that worked there. After expressing interest in joining Starfleet the lead researcher, a man whom they had grown close to during their time there, wrote a letter of recommendation to the Academy on their behalf, a certain anonymous captain took the chance after reading their files and sent a letter of reference for them.

It took almost 3 months for them to be approved, but once they were they entered the Academy. It was here that the 3 differed the most. While Lahkesis found herself drawn to medicine and in turn Starfleet Medical, Clotho and Atropos went in Tactical and Engineering respectively.

It took Lahkesis considerably longer to graduate from the Academy as she had to attend Starfleet Medical classes in addition to her officer training classes. Thus she finally left the Academy a good 2 years after her sisters. Though this proved to be difficult for her, she was able to contact them almost daily and before long the three got into the habit of having daily conversations with each other.

In the end the 3 of them were stationed onto 3 different ships, so that should one vessel be lost all 3 would not perish with it, they were of to much value to the Federation to risk it.

Lahkesis was stationed on the USS Theurgy as a cadet during the night shift as a medical officer. This was when things took a drastic turn for the worst for her.

In a moment she was cut off from her sisters, truly on her own for the first time in her life. Yet she was bound to the truth, as a Teslyliac she was completely incapable of lying. Her last transmission to her sisters was to explain the situation, though she had no way of knowing if they would ever get it.

During the events of the Niga incident Lahkesis was lucky enough to be in the medical lab, sealed off from the rest of the crew. When their behavior began to change she risked all by turning out the lights and removing the majority of the atmosphere in the sealed room. This kept her safe, though she was unable to photosynthesize while the lights were out and she deteriorated quickly. With little choice she was forced to open the door and try to make it to her quarters where she could lay under the solar lamps and regain some strength. She was spotted and the member of the crew that did began to kiss her, believing that the pathogen would be transferred. As a bizarre quirk of fate, most likely due to the plant nature of her body she was immune to the pathogen. She easily escaped the hormone-addled crewmen and made it to her cabin, though the expense left her confused and more than a little distraught. As a Teslyliac she was usually completely asexual, however something inside her had reacted to the advances of the infected crewmember.

After the events she found herself increasingly obsessed with romantic relations, though she was far to nervous to actually attempt to engage in a relationship like that, with little choice she uploaded a number of novels to a personal PADD ranging from romantic to highly erotic. In addition during the two weeks of relative peace she received a field promotion to Ensign due in combination to her medical skill and the decreasing number of personnel available to fill key positions.

She would not get close enough to experience these activities first hand until the Ishtar Entity found the ship. She observed the heightened amorous nature of the crew and made not of it. In addition as the Entity separated her from the crew once more she found herself in a lush garden, surrounded by the plants of the homeland she had never knew, she found herself with a member of the crew whose sexual drive had increased exponentially. Still uncertain as to the act he desired she slipped away into the garden and hid herself. Then another member of the crew appeared in the garden and the as the two entwined themselves in a carnal embrace Lahkesis could not help but watch. As she observed for the first time in her life she “bloomed,” a never before seen Teslyliac trait which caused her body to began to produce lubrication her genital and her hair began to exhibit bioluminescence. It was here for the first time she discovered the sensation of sexual pleasure as she began to touch herself in a sexual manner. She was familiar with the concept of masturbation, though this was the first time she had done it. This continued much the same until the event passed and she was returned to the ship.

Once more she found herself confused. The increased sexual drive caused by the entity had affected her, though she had fled before the other member of the crew could have engaged her in sexual activity. Though as she had watched them engage in sexual activities she had found herself doing the same. She experimented with varying stimuli, and found with the correct stimuli and pheromone treatment she could cause herself to bloom. Once more she discovered that by continuing to, as the others might have put it, masturbate, she would release highly narcotic spores at the moment of the highest pleasure, orgasm.

Her research into her sexuality was halted when the USS Calamity attacked. She once more found herself amidst the chaos of a battlefield treating injured patients. She was tempted to experiment with the samples the narcotic her body had produced in moments of orgasm, though she did not know what it would do to any other life forms.

During her time on Theta Eridani IV much of her time was spent in the triage tents, though she did manage to squeeze in a few hours here of there to resume her tests. She was able to produce more of the narcotic, though she found that it was too complex for the replicator to produce, and the process of harvesting it was not altogether unpleasant. She also found a willing test subject in one of the crewmembers of the USS Harbinger, another ship and crew that had been betrayed by the replacement members of the fleet. The test yielded some interesting results, though she kept them to herself.

All was well until the Calamity appeared once more and she was forced to remain on the planet far longer than most had. The exposure to ash and the heat caused her to lose consciousness and she was recovered by one of the last groups to depart the planet for the ship. She was kept in an isolation tank filled with a steady stream of mineral water and under a continual exposure to solar lamps she recovered, though to late to attend the Festival of the Moon.

Personality Profile

Lahkesis has the knowledge, but lacks much in the way of experience. She is curious about a great many things, though she holds herself back due to her own nervous nature. She likes being around people, though she’s shy, preferring to simply observe. You could call her a coward, though she really suffers from an acute form of anxiety around things she does not fully understand, and as she only has book knowledge to go off of the universe tends to be a very strange and unnerving place.

Due to this anxiety about things in most matters she prefers to look at things from a strictly clinical approach, leaving her emotions out of it. She can come across as emotionless, though she does have them. She has a hard time dealing with emotions like anger of sadness, preferring to focus on more positive emotions. In times of great stress though the emotional centers of her brain simply shut down, this makes her an efficient, though cold doctor.

Most recently she has had exposure to sexuality, something that has confused and perplexed her even more as before it was believed that her species was almost entirely asexual. She is currently curious as the nature of her sexual drive and hesitantly exploring it, in minor baby steps. She would qualify as bicurious, though she is not sure which gender she would prefer to engage in sexuality with.

Physical Profile

As with all of her speices Lahkesis is a plant, biologically speaking her cells have more in common with a plant than any other species. The Teslyliac plant of Teslyliac III, a planet that was destroyed during the Dominion Conflict, has the unique ability to create near perfect duplicates of any life form it is exposed to. This requires a sample of genetic material and several months, but eventually the duplicate is produced in a state near maturity. However there are a few major differences.

Lahkesis is tall and mostly thin with a curved figure. Her eyes lack pupils; instead they are a pale blue, matching her irises. Her hair ranges from light to dark mostly in the red to pink colors. It is similar in makeup to that of the petals on a flower. She almost constantly has an earthy floral scent. Her skin is smooth and pale, near flawless. When in nature she often attracts animals, which treat her as they would any other plant. Though she is inedible, her body contains a number of plant toxins that prevent her from being consumable, at times insects and small animals make their home in her hair, digestive tract, and bodily crevices; though a simple trip through a transporter leaves them behind and only takes her.

She survives off of mainly mineral water and exposure to solar lamps, requiring at least 12 hours of exposure a day. It is possible for her to survive on less, though she will begin to deteriorate quickly, losing color in her hair petals and decreased energy. With prolonged lack of exposure to any form of solar radiation she will slip into a comatose state and eventually die. Though at the time of her death her body will break down into a new Teslyliac plant, and given time a new duplicate with the same life experiences, memories, may form, though conditions must be ideal or the plants genetic template will simply reset.

Though there was been little research into it she is capable of engaging in sexual activity. Up until recently however it was believed that her race was completely asexual. In times of sexual arousal she “blooms.” While she is “bloomed” she produces a slick substance similar to that of which most other species produce, though it has more in common with mineral oil and any other organic lubricant, and the petals that make up her hair begin to exhibit bioluminescence. The length of each bloom depends on the stimuli and the amount of said stimuli, not unlike any other race. When she reaches peak pleasure, or rather orgasms, she also produces a narcotic. There was been little testing on it, though she has tested it enough to prove it is nonaddictive and nontoxic, what other effects it has are at this time unknown.
