The VDF Kitsune was a 24th century Kitsune class starship owned by the Vulpinians and jointly operated by Starfleet and the Vulpinian Defense Force (VDF). It was the prototype of its class.
The VDF Kitsune was designed in the 2350’s to be a warp capable Vulpinian starfighter carrier. It was commissioned in 2363 when it successfully made the trip to Earth, ferrying Vulpinian pilots to Starfleet Academy for cross training and integration with Starfleet. Miles Renard was one of those pilots.
(It is currently unknown if more Kitsune class carriers have been constructed or if the Kitsune is still serving as of 2381.)
