The IKS Ya'Vang (IKC-11553, also known as IKC Yavang) was a Klingon Empire starship, a Vor'cha-class attack cruiser (or battle cruiser) in Klingon Defense Force service in the 24th century. It was named after a 22nd century Klingon captain, Ya'Vang.

Service history and disposition

In the year 2374, the Ya'Vang took heavy casualties following an engagement with Dominion forces. In order to replenish the crew complement, the Ya'Vang took aboard a large contingent from the IKS Rotarran, including Alexander Rozhenko. (DS9 episode: "You Are Cordially Invited")

Later that year, under command of Captain Lothorg, the Ya'Vang transported Sirella of the House of Martok to the wedding of Worf and Jadzia Dax at Deep Space 9. (Decipher RPG module: Starships)

In 2375, the Ya'Vang was one of the four allied ships that survived the Battle of Ricktor Prime, and the only Klingon Defense Force vessel to do so. (TNG - The Sky's the Limit short story: "Four Lights")

Several months later, Alexander Rozhenko was promoted to weapons officer of the Ya'Vang. (DS9 episode: "Penumbra")

The Ya'Vang was one of the ships that stayed loyal to Chancellor Martok during Gothmara and Morjod's coup d'état in 2376. (DS9 - The Left Hand of Destiny novels: Book One, Book Two)

In 2379, the Ya'Vang, under the command of Captain Rota, was part of a fleet of sixty Klingon vessels sent to Tezwa after the destruction of a smaller fleet four hours before. The Ya'Vang was given the honor of being the first to attack, but just as they were about to strike, the USS Enterprise-E used the Klingon Fleet Command codes to gain control of the entire Klingon fleet completely shutting down power on the ships. The Ya'Vang, along with the rest of the fleet, was guided to the edge of the system and then released. Alexander Rozhenko was still serving aboard the Ya'Vang at this time. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)

In 2381, the Ya'Vang was dispatched to the Azure Nebula to assist the allied fleet amassing there to prevent further Borg incursions.
