Tellarite

The stout, hirsute Tellarite species came from Tellar Prime, a temperate planet in the Alpha Quadrant. Theirs was a culture noted for being abrasive and argumentative, with a stubborn pride, quick tempers, and little patience. However, this was only a superficial view: while Tellarites were argumentative, it cames from a sense of intellectual honesty and rigorous skepticism. To a Tellarite, no idea, concept, or person was beyond challenge or analysis, and any notion that could not stand up to scrutiny was an unworthy one. Tellarites revelled in debates, and tended to greet one another with criticisms, complaints, and even insults; failing to respond in kind was poorly-regarded, as it displayed a weakness of character and an unwillingness to confront flaws.
