Tactical Conn Academy

From Star Trek: Theurgy Wiki

Mimas Station, also known as the Mimas Emergency Facility and emergency evac station, is a Starfleet Academy outpost established on Saturn's moon MIMAS.

History

Mimas Station was constructed by the Starfleet Corps of Engineers for use as an emergency evacuation center for Academy trainer craft in trouble at the Starfleet Academy Flight Range. The flight range was within transporter range of the station.

The facility was mainly underground with a tiny portion at surface level. It was manned by a small staff, primarily personnel from the Academy's infirmary and Starfleet Academy Medical School who conducted research when not engaged in rescue operations. The staff also aided Saturn Station 1 personnel when needed.

By 2368, the moon was home to emergency evacuation stations for the Academy Flight Range in the Saturnian system. After a flight training accident, Nova Squadron pilots activated their emergency transporters, which were programmed with pre-set coordinates for these stations.

Academy Flight Range

The Academy Flight Range was an area of space located within the Sol system near Saturn designated for use by cadets at Starfleet Academy for flight training and piloting exercises. One of Saturn's moons, Mimas, was used as the location of an emergency evacuation center for the flight range. The Academy Range Officer was responsible for this area.

In 2368, an accident occurred on the flight range when Nova Squadron, preparing for a display at that year's commencement ceremony, attempted to perform an illegal Kolvoord Starburst maneuver. The five Academy trainer crafts were destroyed, and Cadet Joshua Albert was killed. The rest of the team managed to transport to the evac center.
