USS Exeter
From Star Trek: Theurgy Wiki
The USS Exeter (NCC-26531) was a Federation starship, a Ambassador-class heavy cruiser in Starfleet service in the mid-to-late 24th century. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia, Decipher RPG modules: Starfleet Operations Manual, Starships)
History and specifications
Unlike the USS Excalibur, the Exeter was designed with escape pods that had an emergency manual override on the inside of the pod, rather than the interior of the starship. (NF novel: Requiem)
The Exeter was part of a fleet of thirty two starships that included Stargazer, Excalibur, Valdemar, Etrechaya that responded to the unprovoked attacks on the Antares, Cochise, Yorenda and Gettysburg. (STA novel: Enigma)
In 2371, the Exeter, along with the USS Potemkin, USS Hood, and IKS N'Gat, were dispatched to Deep Space 9 to assist in fighting the Cardassians following the unearthing of a Cardassian tomb on the station. (DS9 novel: Station Rage)
During the Dominion War, the Exeter was assigned to the Ninth Fleet and operated in the Bajor sector. In 2374, the Exeter docked at Deep Space 9 to be resupplied. (DS9 episode: "You Are Cordially Invited", Decipher RPG module: Starships)
In early 2376, the Exeter became trapped in an unusual "dead zone" phenomena which disabled all of the ship's systems, in similar circumstances to other vessels all over the Milky Way Galaxy. Thankfully, the Exeter was released when the crew of the USS Enterprise-E were able to stop the "dead zones". (TNG novels: Dead Zone, Forever Dark)
Prior to 2376, the Exeter was under the command of Captain Hodgkiss. In 2376, Captain Elizabeth Shelby took command of the vessel. (NF novel: Requiem)
In February 2381, the Exeter was one of the surviving ships of the fleet defending Vulcan along with the USS Atlas, USS Prometheus, and USS Kearsarge during the Borg Invasion of 2381. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls)
It would later be docked at Starbase 22 along with several other ships. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny)
