The USS Ticonderoga (NCC-87270) was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet.
In 2364, the ship's commander was Captain Itzak Arrat, when it received an order from Commodore Toki of Starfleet Advanced Technologies Division. According to this order, the Ticonderoga was to await instructions on the proper means of transmitting information on the testing of the Mark 25 warp sensor to this division. The starship was instructed to take all steps necessary to prevent the Ferengi agents, who were operating in the same sector, from learning about the Mark 25 Warp Sensor and its capabilities. This sensor had strategic value, and the mission the Ticonderoga was assigned was classified as most secret.
