The USS Diamondback (NCC-63598) was an Akira-class starship, commissioned in late 2365. It was one of the many commissioned Akira-class starships that Starfleet had begun rolling out in the wake of the Battle of Wolf-359. Heavily-armed as it was, it saw extensive service along the Federation side of the Klingon Neutral Zone during the Klingon Civil War of 2367-2368. It survived the Dominion War, and now serves as a patrol vessel along the Romulan Neutral Zone.
