Nolak Kalmil was a Chief Petty Officer : Duty Chief Engineer who was put in stasis. He aided in the opposition against the parasites that compromised Starfleet Command in the end of the 24th century. Nolak Kalmil was put in stasis after sustaining fatal injury, and may be treated once the U.S.S. Theurgy can get the medical assistance required.

Biography

Born on the peaceful world of Delta IV, a planet known for beautiful islands, pleasant unified planet and a culture that has transcended open-mindedness especially a very open sexual culture. The Delta people are known to have be telepathic and empathic allowing them to since and feel the emotions of others around them. They are mostly commonly found working in the medical field in Starfleet because of their special abilities to absorb and minimizing the feeling of pain through “mind-meld anesthesia” technique. Both sexes emit some of the most potent pheromones known to Federation science and because of their highly sexual culture upon entering Starfleet Deltan’s take an ‘oath of celibacy’ to avoid complications with the other members of the ship and their own personal well being.

Nolak Kalmil, grew up wanting to join Starfleet from a very early age, he enrolled in many of the planet side programs offered by the Federation. He discovered very early he had a knack with running and repairing machines and by the age of 12 was already head of one of the major power production plants located on Delta IV. Joining Starfleet as a non-commission in 2348, he entered the engineering field instead of medical where most Deltans are found. His academic scores excelled beyond measure in quantum physics, and warp core engineering graduating at the top of his class in 2354. His first post was onboard the Miranda class light cruiser USS Eisenhower. The ship was used mostly as a training vessel and performed numerous scientific explorations. During one mission while docked spacestation along the neutral zone Kalmil single handed prevented both a political and economic catastrophe from happening. He discovered and prevented a couple Romulan spies from sabotaging the space station powercore during one of the peace talks between the two nations.

His actions promoted him to Petty Officer Third Class and he received a Starfleet Medal of Merit. He soon transferred over to a much larger vessel, Ambassador class USS Excalibur, in 2362 under the command of Captain Morgen. Showing outstanding performance, courage, and dedication, he was promoted Chief Petty Officer Second Class around 2365. Captain Morgen retired to his homeworld of Daa’V in 2368, so over the next couple years the USS Excaliber commanded by several different captains this included Commander William T. Riker (briefly 2368. In 2369 the USS Excaliber encountered the Borg Cube 45208, many of the ships crew members were lost or assimilated but because of the actions of Chief Kalmil, the crew of the Excaliber prevented the ship from being completely overwhelmed by the Borg. He lost a good many of his friends that day and those memories still haunts him from time to time. He received a Silver Star and promoted to Chief Petty Officer First Class for the exemplary actions and call above duty to spare which saved the ship and many lives from the grips of the Borg.

After the USS Excalibur returned home to be refitted and repaired from the encountered with the Borg, Nolak Kalmil took a two year leave of absents to recover on his home planet. During this time he spent a lot of time studying the reports about the Borg and trying to understand why and what they become and the possibility of redeeming those loss to the collective. He also reviewed and recalculated some of the quantum physics theories surrounding warp cores and shield effectiveness against the future Borg encounters. Early in 2372 he rejoins Starfleet and serves as an Instructor at the academy. He was stationed in San Francisco just prior to the Battle of Sector 001, 2373. While in the middle of a lecture he heard word that a Borg cube was on a straight course for Earth. He immediately canceled class took temporary Command of a Saber class USS Yeager. First under the direction of Admiral Hayes (KIA) then under USS Enterprise, Captain Picard, the USS Yeager and crew were able to help destroy the Borg cube and save human history. His ship received heavy damage but survived the battle. For his actions in face of danger received his second Silver Star and earned a promotion to Chief Petty Officer. After the battle he returned to his position in the Academy for a couple more years teaching new methods to counter the not only the Borg but other enemies of the Federation. It’s during this time he began to notice a subtle change in the behavior of the High Command, sensing emotional fluxes, and sometime sporadic orders, he decided to leave the human homeworld and back into the workforce approximately 2378. His position allowed him some liberty to transfer to several ships before finally earning his spot on board the USS Theurgy sometime late 2379 early 2380, under the command of Captain Jien Ives.

Personality Profile

His calm and peaceful nature has allowed him have a successful career within Starfleet. When under fire his orders are calculated and directive, yet has the an overwhelming ability to keep others around him also calm and collected usually creating a unified bond with his underlings that has allowed the narrow escapes in the face of death, namely the Borg. For the most part he keeps to himself mostly because of who he is and the restrictions Starfleet has placed upon his race, (more out of respect for other races, because of his openness about sexual nature). He takes his work with the up most pride and loves the ship he’s on more than anything else in the galaxy. When he’s not in engineering, he can be found in the ships garden area, his room, or every so often in the Holodeck reliving some of his fantasies from his home planet. Because of his sworn oath of celibacy upon joining Starfleet at times he appears to retreat from interactions with other races and activities that isn’t work related. In his room he enjoys listening to music and reading literature of all types and has a special collection of Deltan Karma sutra book and other sexual reading from various other species.

Physical Profile

He is slightly thinner than most humans, and his facial features are more symmetrical than the most humanoids. His bald head is strikingly handsome and is consider attractive by most species. On his upper right shoulder he has the Daltan Union Emblem tattoo and on his left arm he has a tattoo of a medevil sword with NCC-26517 along the blade. He wears a cologne that’s both subdues his natural pheromones yet subtle enough not to be overwhelming to those around him to cause discomfort to others unless they are hypersensitive to smell. In such cases he has a more drastic method to cover his natural aromas. Although he is telepathic, his experiences with these mind-melding techniques are less than par to those in the medical field. However, he has used these abilities to get through some of the roughest fighting and saved a few good service men and women in the most dire of times.
