Lt JG Sorek Morgan, Callsign “Chaos”  Fighter Assault Bay | Deck 16 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] Attn: ALL Fighter Pilots and crew members associated with the Lone Wolves Squadron

[Show/Hide]

As the doors to the Fighter Bay slid open, Sorek was greeted with a buzzing atmosphere inside this paralell world. His eyes scanned the large, open space and widened when he saw how many crew members were going on about their business. He saw pilots in small groups, some RIOs as well. Repair crews were fixing damages, either on the fighters or the hangar itself. Flight Ops staff was walking around, too, getting to know the new arrivals and inspecting the damages dealt to the valuable crafts.

Sorek had been shown his quarters by a nice, young crewman, right after his arrival and debriefing. The attack run on the Romulan Warbird had provided him with a temporary adrenaline rush, which had subsided quickly upon the return of the Wolves. If his stomach had not told him to get out of his room and find something edible, he would have laid down and taken a few minutes to get his system back up. But he knew very well that food would serve as recharge just as much and he could not even remember when he had his last meal. So returning to the hangar where he knew how to find the mess hall was a must.

He kept walking, passing a group of fellow pilots who were listening to the accounts of another. Probably a neat, little battle report. He thought to himself as he stuck to his path which would eventually lead him to the mess hall. He kept looking around, seeing people he had never seen before and was unable not to ask himself what those courageous heroes had gone through. He still had a hard time grasping the enormity of all the turmoil the USS Theurgy and it's crew had seen. And he suspected he would need a few days until his brain would process all this.

The mess hall was on his right, situated behind a protective wall of transparent aluminium. He watched two NCOs leaving, as he turned to pass two slightly damaged AC-409s. One of which was the one he had flown into the battle against the Warbird. Walking in between the two fighters, he nodded towards the two Petty Officers and was suddenly stopped in his tracks.

A hand, gentle but demanding, had taken a hold of his left shoulder and pulled him to a halt. Sorek recognized this maneuvre instantly, had felt this hand before and had experienced the goosebumps it was able to give him as well. Owen? He thought and turned on his heel, staring into the slightly androgynous face of the RIO who had joined him in his fighter at the Omega Training Facility.

"Found ya!" The tall, handsome human exclaimed with his stunningly deep, comforting voice. His bright, piercing blue eyes were running up and down Sorek's figure with a concerned haste. "Are you alright, Sir?" He asked and raised his other hand to put it onto Sorek's right shoulder.

Sorek was completely taken aback. He had seen Ensign Owen Clarksdale after the tragedy at the Tactical Training Center. He had suffered heavily from being sucked into space, losing his right arm and a lot of blood. The doctors aboard the Oneida told Sorek that Owen would be fine, but that his path of recovery would take time. The least Sorek had expected was to see him back on his feet so soon.

"Owen!" He half yelled before pulling the lean, aristocratic looking man in for a long, close hug. "I'm glad you're back!" His voice was shaky and he felt his body react to the close hug. Get your fucking shit together, boy! He mentally scolded himself before pushing his RIO back to arms length with a conflicted sigh. "How do you feel, man? The doctors told me you needed time."

"Yeah, that's what they told me, too. But once I got out of cryo, it all went very smoothly. A bit of training, some meds and I was back on track." He grinned and took the liberty to stare at Sorek's crotch for a lengthy second. "And I knew you'd miss me. So I thought I should get my ass over here and join you before you get into the action all on your own again!" Owen explained and nodded towards the mess hall. "I've heard the replicators here have a wide variety of recipes from all over the galaxy. Grab a bite?"

"Hell yeah! I'm starving!" Sorek turned and started walking further towards the Den. His heart was racing and the little, angry man in his brain was having a melt down, scolding him for showing this much affection for another man. But Sorek ignored this little devil for the moment and waved Owen to follow him. "Come on, stop staring at my butt! I have so much to tell!" His whispered words were followed by a teenish giggle and a blushing face. He was conflicted, but he was happy to have Owen back.

CPO Victor vanVinter | Fighter Assault Bay | Deck 16 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] Attn: @Lathaniel @P.C. Haring

Victor had come not from his quarters or the Assault Bay proper. He'd come from the Holodeck. And Notably, he wasn't dressed in his standard uniform. He was dressed in a pair of coveralls, not in the Ops Yellow, but a grey color, not civilian, but close to Cadets used for flight training. His appearance wasn't quite haggard but was well on its way to being there. There were signs of sweat and fatigue on him. Reggie hadn't gone easy on him, and he'd put in all of his efforts just to keep up with her demands. Even though Victor felt he'd given it a good fight, he wasn't sure whether or not he'd satisfied her. That remained to be seen.

For now, though, there was this gathering that was for the Wolves and all adjacent personnel. Well, Victor was FBO for now. He'd fit in. While unsure if it was a party or just a gathering, Victor had decided to show up. A meeting like this to get to know his fellow crewmembers after so many faces had changed would be good for him. So he was curious to get to know the new faces.

Sorek and his Rio were absolutely new faces to him. He'd been asleep for a while now, and while he was original crew, so many people weren't. Entering the lounge and seeing that Sorek and Owen were grabbing something to eat, Victor heads over to the Replicators after giving a polite wave with his cybernetic left hand. "Hasperat,  spicy with anchovies, and a side of roasted Brussels sprouts, and Chai tea to drink, please." It was an odd order that would no doubt raise some eyebrows. He knew that both his mother and father would glare at him for polluting his hasperat with anchovies. After a moment, he grabbed his meal and moved over to sit down across the table from Sorek and Owen.

"Chief Petty officer van Vinter, but you can call me Victor." The lanky half-Bajoran extends his organic hand to Sorek and Owen both. He noted Sorek's ears almost immediately. the facial hair, that was interesting, and an eyebrow rises curiously. "Not the usual fresh-faced Wolf cub I'm used to seeing. But neither am I." He winked at that and let out a polite laugh making a joke out of his horror-show of an appearance.

"Lieutenant Suder should be joining us soon. She had to go clean up. Suder was finding out how much I knew about flying and putting me through some paces. She's a hell of a damn pilot. I'm glad that you all have her on board. If the Prophets ever need someone to corral the stars with plasma exhaust, she'd be the one to do it." He chuckles a little before digging into his food. The heavy aroma of the heavily spiced vegetables and the salty fish in Victor's meal filled the room with the pungent aroma. Hopefully, it wasn't too offensive to anyone. But Victor was hungry, and this was his comfort food.

Lt. JG Callax Valin | Fighter Assault Bay | Deck 16 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] @Lathaniel @Tae @P.C. Haring @SaraKnight
[Show/Hide]
Even after the battle, Callax was just as restless as he had been laying in the sickbay of the Oneida following the destruction of the Omega Training Facility. He felt a constant need to be doing something and so when he was shown to his new quarters he did not take the time to settle in and get comfortable. He dropped the duffel bag containing the entirety of his personal belongings--not much by anybody's standards--onto the bed, splashed some water on his face in the refresher, and departed out into the hallway.

To call the ship huge would be an understatement. In comparison to the Jadestone and the Oneida, the Theurgy was absolutely massive. On more than one occasion Callax needed to consult one of the wall LCARS panels for directions, an act which drew a handful of knowing smirks from passing crewmembers. He could have just asked someone but like his father he could be as stubborn as a mule sometimes. Eventually, and only after a few awkward encounters in parts of the ship he may or may not have had permission to enter, he found his way to deck 16 and the Fighter Assault Bay.

Stepping out of the portside turbolift, Callax found himself looking through the transparent blast walls into the hangar bay proper. Each fighter was neatly arranged in its proper location with a myriad of deck crew tending to the craft after the recent engagement. The young Ardanan proceeded slowly down the hallway, noting the different rooms and nodding to passing crewmembers. At the end of the hallway he paused, turning to look through the blast walls again.

The Valkyrie he had flown was docked neatly in the ninth position and was surrounded by three or four deck hands. It was devoid of damage save for a few surface blemishes, something he was happy to note during his post-flight walkaround. Of the things he feared in this world, a pissed off deck hand or engineer was well at the top of the list. Were he to choose between encountering that or a Tal Shiar interrogation squad, he might just pick the latter.

Not desiring to disturb their work, he stepped back from the blast wall and proceeded to turn back towards the turbolift when a familiar voice drew his attention. The door to the Den had just closed but not before Callax could peek in and see a small group within gathered near the replicators including one of the pilots that he had flown with for the past few sorties.

"Lieutenant Suder should be joining us soon. She had to go clean up. Suder was finding out how much I knew about flying and putting me through some paces. She's a hell of a damn pilot. I'm glad that you all have her on board. If the Prophets ever need someone to corral the stars with plasma exhaust, she'd be the one to do it."

"And then rearrange them into constellations," Callax said as he approached the table. Invoking the Riker Maneuver, he took a seat beside Victor and offered a warm greeting to the others at the table. "She is a fine pilot. Good instructor too. Afternoon, all."

Flashing pearly whites, he looked around at what everybody was eating before settling his attention on Sorek and Owen. "Speaking of fine pilots, that attack run on the cruiser was damn close, Sorek, but we pulled it off. Liking the new fighter?" He asked Sorek before extending a hand to Victor and Owen, "Cal Valin. Callsign 'Archon'. Do not believe we have met yet."

Blue eyes focused for a moment on Owen as if he was trying to place a name to a face he had seen before. Seemingly failing in that endeavor, he turned his attention to Victor. It was impossible not to notice the cybernetic eye and extensive scarring and Callax did his best not to react negatively to it. Luckily, the rank pips on his collar provided a welcome diversion though his appetite was now thoroughly ruined. "How do you do, Chief?"

Sorek and Owen had opted for pizza, a habit they had taken up while training together. Sitting next to each other they were exchanging their joined admiration for the Valravn fighter and it's sleak, gracious design, as CPO van Winter approached them. Both men lifted their heads when they became aware of the company. His introduction was followed immediately by Lieutenant Valin joining the table. Sorek was the first to speak of the two, after van Winter and Valin were seated.

"Hello Chief. I'm Lieutenant Sorek Morgan and this is my friend and professional backseater, Ensign Owen Clarksdale." He offered a polite nod which seemed to aspire to becoming a seated bow. "Pleased to meet you."

Turning his attention to Valin, a man he had experienced mostly in battle, he looked him up and down. "How are you, Cal? I hope they stitched you back together in the right order." He asked and grinned.

"I hope Sorek managed to hit anything without his "professional backseater"?" Owen asked and chuckled and picked up another slice of his spicy salami pizza. "Just kiddin'. Sorek is a great pilot, and I'm glad he has the chance to pilot one of those beauties." Pointing outside to the Valravns while taking a big chunk out of the slice with a friendly smile.

"Yeah, those birds are amazing, Callax. I can't wait to begin flight training." He turned his head and smiled at the impressive man with the scars, who sat directly opposite of him. "Can we assume that you will join us out there, Chief? I've heard the Captain is in dire need of capable pilots." Still focused on the Chief, his fingers fished for a shrimp which had fallen off his pizza and shoved it into his mouth. He loved pizza, it was one of the few dishes from earth he had really grown fond of.

[Lt. Regiene “Reggie” Suder, Callsign “Gemini” | Fighter Assault Bay | Deck 16 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] Attn: @Lathaniel   @Tae   @Eden

Reggie had parted company with Victor after their time on the holodeck simulators before heading back up to the Fighter Assault Bay.  She’d wanted to clean up a bit, change into a slightly more comfortable uniform that would suit better for the cockpit and grab Kalil.  If she was going to take the Chief out on a training flight, she figured she and Kalil could do for some of their own flight time in the Valravn.

“Suder to Daik,” she said as she tapped her combadge.  “Up for a training flight?  I’ve got a nugget I’m working with and we’re going to head out in a bit.”

[[On my way up Reggie.  Daik, out.]]

The turbolift deposited her just outside the bay and as she stepped in, she heard the noise and camaraderie  coming from the mess hall; “The Den” it had been nicknamed.    She found Morgan, VanVinter, Clarksdale, and Valin, sitting together sharing stories along with a meal.    Her sense changed immediately, knowing the training flight would be delayed in lieu of the fellowship.  She stopped at the replicator and ordered herself a BLTA with a side of chips and a glass of Black Tea and then made her way to the group and helped herself to a seat, expanding the group.

“Hello, boys,” she said, a playful tease to her voice.  “Mind if I join in the fun?”

[Show/Hide]
After having been treated and finally cleared for duty, Amissa was told she would be joining the Lone Wolves Squadron here on the Theurgy. Given the strange goings on with Sapphire Station, she wasn’t sure she wanted to go back there anyway, so this suited her just fine.

With the loss of her RIO, she was going to need either a new one, which she didn’t really want since Diamond’s loss was still too fresh in her mind, or she was going to have to train on a new type of fighter. Most likely the Valkyrie MkIII. She had obtained a fresh uniform, this time with a white collar, and since she wasn’t sure whether she was going to be getting into a cockpit or not, she had chosen to wear the slacks instead of a duty skirt.

She entered the Fighter Assault Bay and took one look at all the impressive fighters lined up in their stations and deck personnel scurried about their various tasks. She wasn’t sure if she would know anyone here or not, but she was going to need to get to know them soon enough. She looked around for where the pilots might be gathering and found a location that seemed to fit the bill. It appeared to be a mess hall and she spotted several white collars inside. She strode in, made her way to the replicator and ordered a bowl of stew and a mug of water.

As she turned around, she spotted Lieutenant Suder, who she remembered from Tactical CONN Station Omega and decided a familiar face would make things easier. Then she noticed another pilot she had glimpsed briefly just recently when her flight had made a stop at Omega while performing escort duty for Sapphire Station’s resupply freighter. If she remembered correctly, he was calling himself Sorek, but she couldn’t remember his callsign. If he had even had one. Also present was Callax Valin, whom she had also seen at Omega, and he had even been on Oneida.

Well, at least they’re not all complete strangers.

She sauntered over to the table with the other pilots and cleared her throat.

“Excuse me. Do you have room for one more?”

Victor waved both Reggie and Amissa over, gesturing to the other seats at the table. "Plenty of room Lieutenants, take a seat and join us if you don't mind." He thoughtfully munched on his hasperat and brussels sprouts, thinking of the best way to respond to Sorek's question about assuming he'd be joining them in combat. He'd caught the reaction, how Valin's eyes flicked from his own eye and melted face to the rank tab on his collar. Making a snap judgment, Victor cracked a grotesque smile in response, pointing to the replicator. There was a flicker of amusement that ran through him, and he shrugs. When he chose to speak it was a polite tone of voice carrying a fair bit of humor in it.

"Lieutenant Valin, you'll be seeing a lot of my face around here Pilot or no, I'm still deck crew. And I know that sometimes the only meal we get around here is shoving a protein bar down our throats. So get used to my facial scars or I'll show you the ones on my thighs." There was a wave of almost sadistic amusement that washed from Victor then. The man clearly had a sense of humor about his disfigurements. It was crack jokes about them or wallowed in self-pity that dermal regeneration didn't work correctly on him. Joking aside, there wasn't a hint of offense radiating from Victor, something Reggie would be sure to pick up on.

He turned to Sorek then and nodded emphatically. "SCO and skipper willing I will be, that is so long as my continued training meets with the standards of Lieutenant Suder here. or whoever I get officially assigned to." While his words were casual, Victor sincerely hoped to be flying at least practice flights with the wolves in the next few weeks. He looked around and did a quick headcount, Valin and Amissa were the new faces, plus the Valravn pilots. The math and organizational table could really only work a few ways, and there were only a few logical ways that they could work anyway.

"I would assume that since the six that were chalked up the other day are arranged into flights of three, that If I get accepted, I'll probably be with Valin and our green friend here." And with that, Victor extends his cybernetic hand to Amissa, grinning at the beautiful Orion. "Chief vanVinter at your service, but you can call me Victor."

[ Lt. JG Tessa May Lance, callsign "GoldenEye" | Fighter Assault Bay | Deck 16 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] Attn: @Lathaniel @Tae @P.C. Haring @SaraKnight @Eden [Show/Hide]

Fresh from sickbay, Tessa still slightly worse for wear was ready to be among her people again. The Lone Wolves. Albeit with a few changes, but at this point it was par for the course and she was one of the originals still standing. Luckily for her that is. Waltzing in wearing her standard issue Starfleet uniform, she was prepared to meet the group. Since the last time she had an interaction was during the Valkyrie fire fight and just prior to that on the shore leave of Aldea.

Her short dirty blond hair bounced wildly as she took each step, with a renewed vigor in her since seeing Kate in sickbay. Her arms were still a little tender as were her ribs but for all intents and purposes, she was cleared for duty. Things were looking up, well at least despite everything that was going down for the ship, and their voyage. Even her friend Lauren was found safe, although she couldn't help but thing how similar her friend was to the other Pierce aboard.

Shaking her head promptly, she shoved that aside and smiled at the motly crew before her. Most of them were lucky enough to be here and or transferred over at the very least. The Fighter Assault Bay was as clean as can be expected what with her crash landing and the dissolution left behind in the wake of the intruders.

A few faces were recognizable to her though and she waved at them as she approached. "Holy smokes it's great to be back here!" She exclaimed with her arms in the air above her head. Slowly her arms dropped at her sides and she proceeded further, trying not to draw a ton of attention to herself but enjoying the ability to still be among the living in her presence. She looked at Victor, "Heya Victor! How's it going?" She turned to the others. "Hey everyone! Lt. JG. Tessa May Lance reporting in!" The excitement could clearly not be very contained to say the least.

"So what's new guys? How's it hanging?" A slight giggle and smirk pierced her lips as she intended to have some fun with the group.

[ Lt Cmdr Thomas Ravon | Fighter Assault Bay | Deck 16 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] Attn: @Lathaniel @P.C. Haring  @SaraKnight @Eden  @Tae

Coming out of the office, Thomas could hear cheers and laughter throughout the fighter bay. He had been cooped up in that place for God knows how long. Probably even slept in it at this point. Rubbing in his eyes, he straightened himself and used the locker room to freshen up a little and look somewhat presentable before he ventured out to meet the gathered wolves. A lot of new faces and he smiled as they seemed young, yet showed their skill during the battle over Qo'Nos.

One person in particular stood out, his voice carrying over the flight deck and it sounded very familiar to say the least. Thomas lurked by the fighters first, making his way in a beeline as he could walk up behind Victor Vanvinter. The other pilots would probably notice him come up behind the CPO and Thomas sped up a little to close the final distance. Both of his hands landed on Victor's shoulders and gave it a firm squeeze "Well well... Look what the cat dragged out. I thought you had become a solid piece of deck plating aboard the Thunderchild. Ladies and gentlemen, this man here... You got to respect. Yes that is an order and if you choose to disobey it, well, I'm sure mister Vanvinter here will show you the consequences."

Thomas his tone was dead serious and he eyes the new faces. Tessa would probably be one of the few to realize he was joking around and Thomas couldn't hold back his smirk when he made eyecontact with her. "Either way, welcome aboard wolves. You lot surely came right on time over Qo'Nos." he said and let of Victor "Most of you probably know me by name. Thomas Ravon, your current SCO for those who haven't seen me yet. I hope you guys are all squared away, if not let me know and I'll sort things out with the quartermaster. Now, carry on, I don't want to spoil the fun." he concluded with a wink before turning to Victor with a smug grin.

The gentle vibrations of the sonic shower pounded his body, and he enjoyed every second of it. It felt as if he had just stepped into a shower for the first time in ages and wanted this moment to last another eternity. Tensions were releasing in his body that he hadn't even known about until now, and his vertebrae cracked loudly as he rotated his torso to stretch a few muscles. Slowly but surely, the pilot felt clean again and he was looking forward to a killer sandwich.

The pilot exited the shower and headed to his locker, where he climbed into loose clothing. The few feet into the Den were quickly covered. Logan wasn't sure, but it almost seemed like there was a boisterous atmosphere. He could hear laughter and happy-sounding voices. It was only when the doors opened that he realized it was an impromptu gathering. He nodded to the commander, who must have just given the chief petty officer a good scare.

"Don't have all the fun without me," Logan cut in. He walked over to one of the replicators and ordered himself a juicy BLT. The plate of sandwich materialized in an instant and the pilot's mouth watered. With the plate in one hand, he pulled up one of the chairs with the other and joined the rest of the pilot squad. He bit heartily into the sandwich and looked at the various faces.
"Where are my manners." he said with his mouth full as he realized he didn't recognize every face at the table. "Logan Hale. They also call me Wraith."

"So what are you saying, my bird won't be flying for how many bloody days?" Rawley asked the Chief of the Deck, and the flat-cheeked damn Ensign - who was far too hot to replace the grizzly ol' Papa Bear in her opinion (the contrast too much for her to take him seriously) - just shrugged at her. He was impossible to provoke! Mister fucking even-keeled... I want to strangle him and have him stuff me at the same bloody time.

"I'm sorry, Ghost," Liam Herrold offered, looking up from his PADD where he stood next to Rawley's fighter, "but your Valkyrie isn't passing the diagnostics we run yet. Until we figure out what is causing the impulse output fluctuations, you'll have to stick to the simulators, or request to fly one of the spares we have."

"Oh, fuck that, thanks for nothing," she said, but she caught herself, sighed, and despite how she was still mad at him, she found herself apologising nonetheless. Why did she even care? It was just because he was impossible to stay mad at too. "Damn it, sorry, okay? Just... let me know when she's good to go again will you?"

"Of course," the Ensign said and smiled a little. Damn you! Lay off the bloody charm! The man turned to look in the direction of the Den. "I hear the new Lone Wolves have gathered. Perhaps you can go say hello, and I will let you know when I know something more?"

"Sure," said Ghost and ran a hand over her shaved head, walking away, "fine. Fine!" Gosh, she wasn't about to shag another deck chief. The way she heard it, the bloody Ensign was already busy enough, and she wasn't sure she wanted to know how busy. Perhaps no more busy than her, but bloody hell, two women at the same time, one being a Vulcan? Well... Switch that for a Romulan and it would be old stomping grounds for her. He just doesn't look the part! I want to know how the fuck that came about! No, fuck him. No, don't, I mean... Bloody hell.

Dressed in uniform with her jacket and undershirt open, showing the white sports bra underneath, and with her Lone wolves flight jacket on top of that, she brushed past a couple of technicans and entered the Den, spotting not just new Pups but old ones too. "Tessa! Fuck, you're back on your feet!" she exclaimed and walked over to her old wingmate, giving her a hug - grinning ear to ear. "So good to see you again. I heard the bloody Klingons gave you a wallop, though I heard you gave them the same in kind."

She didn't spot Salvo and Neko yet, but understood why. Knowing Neko just lost her husband, she also knew Salvo - the other remaining Grey Wolf from the Resolve - had comforted her in her loss. Scuttlebutt had it they'd shared quarters right after the battle with the Romulan warbird, and Ghost had no idea what to make of that. Yet. Comfort dick? I wouldn't be surprised...

Ravon was there though, just like Wraith and she gave them a grin. Then there were rest of the new Wolves, along with an old face. That Chief they put on ice? Is he practising to join the squad? She put her hands in her pockets and sauntered over to the replicator, throwing him a glance. "We used to call you Troubleshooter, didn't we? Well, we have plenty of fucking problems to shoot, that's for sure. I'd love to see you out there if you make it. Cute face by the way. You look hotter that Herrold out there. Haggis pizza, and a tall soda."

Finally, she looked at the new and old faces by the table, because two of them were very familiar to her - them having flown together on the Jadestone back in the day. "Oy, Chaos and Archon. What the fuck got you mixed up in all of this, and how the hell have you been? I heard someone fucked up a training centre? Wasn't one of you two, was it?"

The two women, the Orion and the human, looked really hot and she just gave them a lewd grin. "I'm Evelyn Rawley, but they call me Ghost. I see the pleasure is all mine."

Reggie nodded and introduced herself as Tessa Lance and Evelyn Rawley came in.   She already knew Amissa and Hale so she skipped out on the formalities.  She also had not yet met Ravon, but did not want to interrupt as he lauded Victor's work and introduced himself as the SCO.   She would have to readjust her thinking.   Back in the Star Hawks, the squadron commander was called a CAG.   Ah well, she decided, just the evolution of the times.  Ravon seemed laid back enough and while she didn't know him well enough yet, she threw caution to the wind.

"Actually, Ravon, I've got something.  Well," she teased, "a pair of somethings."  She let that sit a moment, knowing where the flyboys minds would be going.   She didn't care of they ogled her a bit.   Wasn't the first time, wouldn't be the last and a part of her actually enjoyed the attention.

"When can we get some squadron gear for myself and the new pilots?  I know we're the new pups on the block, but I'd like to think that taking that warbird earned us our spots on the roster.  Second," she paused a she took a sip of tea.   "Anyone know a good tattoo artist on board?"

Victor was entirely unsurprised that the lounge was filling up as fast as it was. And he was mostly content to consume his anchovy-laden hasperat. It was nice to listen and observe, and eating the meal gave him time to think about just what sort of responses he could give after he'd cleared his mouth. So it was with a bit of a shock when he felt the strong hands clap down on his shoulders, and he got the welcome and introduction from Ravon. Victor takes a swig of his drink to clear his mouth and then stands up silently, turning around and staring down at the slightly shorter squadron commander before giving the man a quick bear hug. Once he let the man go, Victor cracks a smile as wide as the Fighter bay doors and shakes his head.

"Oh please, If I had been on the Thunderchild any longer, I'd have become a permanent fixture there. The thing is, I seem to remember getting posted here before you did! You spent a couple of fears farting around on the Kusanagi as I remember it."
His voice was full of humor and good cheer. "Besides, while I was a popsicle, I got replaced. I got replaced, and last I checked the roster, you could use some people. Also, last I checked, you're the only one aboard with more stick time than I do..." Victor knew Ravon well enough to catch the implication about what he was saying. Sure, they both knew that none of Victor's hours were combat time. What he happened to be was an experienced pilot.

And then Rawley came in and brought up his unofficial callsign, a bout of laughter comes from him then. "They did indeed, and Ravon was the one that started it way back when on the Thunderchild, back when I used to do chek-rides on the old Peregrines. But..." and Victor looks around the room, smiling at everyone. "If I do end up flying with all of you, don't call me that. While that was a nickname I earned, it was earned as a mechanic and not as one of you. And it wasn't given to me by people I've flown with in combat. I know some of you already, and I'll get to know the rest of you soon enough. Eventually, you'll all figure out what you want to call me..." And then the rest of the comment from Rawley registers, and Victor's mind seems to grind to a halt. He paused, lifting a finger and then pointing it at the short athletic woman.

"Did you just call me cute?" His tone of voice was deeply confused now, clearly thrown off whatever game he'd been on. The gears of his mind almost audibly click and grind on that for a moment. Being told that he 'had a cute face' was never something that he'd have imagined getting told. And then a chill runs down his spine. This was how pilots got callsigns like 'Prettyboy,' and he hoped no one would call him that.

Reggie provided the distraction of asking for gear, and a tattoo artist gave him an adequate distraction, though, and he smiled to Reggie. "I'll say that you did. Survive a mission with Ravon as your CO, and you've earned your spot. No clue about the tattoo artist." He nodded politely then and gestured to Reggie. "Reggie here actually finished putting me through my paces in some simulator training. I'm happy to continue doing flight training with her. The Lieutenant knows her stuff, Commander."

Victor gave a polite nod to Tessa, wvaing to her. "Good to see you still up and flying around Goldeneye. I missed you while I was on Ice." The greeting a bit casual and plenty friendly then. And Victor gave a polite nod to Logan and Sorek as well. He'd kinda figured that the introduction he'd gotten from Ravon, and the resulting conversation had adequately answered the question.

Sorek was a bit overwhelmed by all the arrivals in such a short time, but enjoyed it greatly. Sitting next to his RIO, he leaned back slightly and paused eating for a while. The last thing he wanted was to be adressed while having his mouth stuffed with food. It was a better choice to leave the few slices of pizza on the plate for now.

Lieutenant Suder's arrival again sent shivers down his spine. He did not know what it was, but this woman was surely driving him crazy. He wished he could not only process his desire but also express it in a way that Suder would understand and accept. On the other hand, Sorek was well aware of his shortfalls in male-to-female communication; namely starting to stutter and blush like a little boy. At least when the topic ventured away from duty and into the realms of relationships, emotions and other nasty inventions.

Everytime a new face entered, he politely introduced himself while not trying to draw too much attention. It was only when Rawley entered that he did not manage to stay in his seat. All he could do was to keep himself from jumping up.

"Ghost? I can't believe it! I saw your callsign on the rosters but figured someone took your's without begging you for permission! How have you been?" He grinned and extended his hand with a visible amount of insecurity. "Nah, we didn't blow that thing up... well... not on purpose and not directly. It's a long story. He glanced at Suder and Valin. "But anyway, we are here now and looking forward to fighting alongside all of you." He smiled again and then awkwardly sat back down.

The enthusiasm of the room was refreshing considering she'd spent the better part of a few days now buried in sickbay. I mean she knew she was going to survive the conundrum of death because of Kate but it still didn't make things less messy for her. Ghost's excitement for seeing her was a welcome one. An old comrade in the heat of battle again surviving impossible odds out there in their fighters.

"Tessa! Fuck, you're back on your feet!" Ghost's voice could be heard as she approached for a hug which Tessa embraced and promptly returned to her friend, grinning in her typical coy smirk. "So good to see you again. I heard the bloody Klingons gave you a wallop, though I heard you gave them the same in kind."

"Holy smokes, did I give them something to write home about or what? Took quite a few with me before one of them managed to take out my propulsion guidance systems. I did all I could to not explode. And although my Valkyrie is in the repair bay now, we thankfully have extras in the event we need 'em. After all, a ship's only as good as her pilot." Tessa said with a wink at Ghost knowing that she wasn't just talking about her recent firefight but the need to wait for her ship to be repaired too.

She wandered over to Victor who mentioned how "good" it was to see her still up and flying around. Using her codename, Goldeneye, only made the light and playful nature of the room light her eyes up to show how she received the name itself. "I missed you while I was on Ice." she heard him say.

She patted him on the shoulder. "Just be glad you're still here old friend. Wouldn't be the same without any of ya!" A smile escaped her lips as she gave him a curt nod and headed to the refreshments area before landing a seat herself to sit back and relax for the first time in days.

"How are you, Cal? I hope they stitched you back together in the right order."

“No stitching needed this time,” he said to Sorek, arms coming up to rest comfortably behind his head as he reclined slightly in his chair. Had his parents seen his slouched posture he would no doubt have received a switching even being well into his twenties. Slouching is for troglytes, he recalled in that moment his mother saying well over a decade earlier. There was some truth in her words but surely exhaustion after such a baptism by fire against the Romulans warranted some leniency. “And thankful for that. After that spell in Oneida's sickbay I’ve seen one too many of them. Doctors too.”

His eyes drifted from Sorek back to Victor whose hasperat had by now ruined what little appetite Valin had. The Ardanan’s gaze had lingered on the scarred face perhaps a second too long to be polite as the man soon after cracked a grotesque smile. "Lieutenant Valin, you'll be seeing a lot of my face around here pilot or no, I'm still deck crew. And I know that sometimes the only meal we get around here is shoving a protein bar down our throats. So get used to my facial scars or I'll show you the ones on my thighs."

The man’s face really was quite revolting; but, if he was hoping for some reaction from Valin he would be disappointed. Instead, the Ardanan just cracked a grin and beamed a pearly white smile as he allowed the others to continue the conversation. The chief had a sense of humor he could appreciate.

"...I would assume that since the six that were chalked up the other day are arranged into flights of three, that if I get accepted, I'll probably be with Valin and our green friend here. Chief vanVinter at your service, but you can call me Victor." The chief said to the familiar Orion at the table. Amissa, he believed her name was. His brow perked at the mention of being assigned together. What an odd flight they would make. Almost the start of a bad joke. An Ardanan, an Orion, and a ghoul walk into a bar... He allowed himself a soft chuckle at the thought.

Others slowly began to meander into the Den. Some of the names he recognized as they offered introductions to which he offered friendly greetings in return. When Commander Ravon entered he straightened up his posture and offered a respectful nod. First impressions were important, after all.

Valin’s initial reaction was that as a whole they seemed a decent group of people. As one of the new “pups” he knew it would take some time to get to know them. To form the bonds of trust that can only form after multiple sorties and battles together. That is, if this was to be his new home. He had assumed he would be staying aboard the Oneida but the Theurgy needed fighter pilots and so he went. Regardless, there was comfort in knowing he was still on an allied ship. A Starfleet vessel full of Starfleet personnel who upheld the sacred traditions of the Federation and represented the very best the Federation had to offer.

And then Rawley entered.

Whatever high of satisfaction he had been riding visibly deflated at the appearance of a familiar face and an all too familiar voice.

"Oy, Chaos and Archon. What the fuck got you mixed up in all of this, and how the hell have you been? I heard someone fucked up a training centre? Wasn't one of you two, was it?"

Valin closed his eyes hoping he would soon wake up from whatever twisted dream he had suddenly found himself in. He had been relieved when the woman had transferred off the Jadestone. Not because she was a bad pilot--far from it. She was an excellent pilot but he always thought her too reckless with a manner that was much too far from professional. Still, he respected his old crewmate.

“They must have assumed you were coming and decided it would be preferable to detonate it and take their own lives.” He cracked a grin, offering a slight wave in greeting and some friendly banter in return. “Still in one piece here, Rawley. How badly you damage your fighter this time?”

Amissa had slid in next to the other Wolves and was listening to the banter. They seemed to accept her immediately, which was a relief. Sometimes groups of people formed little cliques and breaking into that could often be problematic. She had received some amusement when one of the arrivals - Ghost - had turned to her and gave her a lewd grin and then proclaimed meeting them was her pleasure. She had no idea. But she could if she really wanted to. But before she could voice that aloud a few others had responded and the moment was lost. Instead, she threw her own look back that was meant to say, “Not yet, but it can be. Just bring it on.”

You’re incorrigible.

Another pilot calling herself Goldeneye joined them and from what she’d been able to tell, she must have had an interesting time during the recent battle. At least her fighter was still serviceable. Amissa had salvaged her own, but with Diamond gone, she wouldn’t be able to fly it again, unless she got a new RIO, and that was not something she was ready for. That meant getting retrained on the new MkIIIs.

“Well, I have to say, I am looking forward to getting into a cockpit again. Though I am going to have to train on the Mark III Valkyrie first since my own RIO didn’t make it.”

She could help the trace amount of sadness that had crept into her voice, but tried to play it off quickly in the hopes that no one had noticed.

“It has to be better than getting nearly killed by a Klingon on steroids.” She tossed out a playful smile, as if trying to make a joke out of it, but that had been unnerving. And she really did prefer flying.

Reggie took note as Rawley entered.  The women was not what she might have expected, but there was an attitude with the human that commanded Reggie’s immediate respect.  She fell quiet for a moment or two as more started to gather, introducing herself to Ghost and GoldenEye in turn.

“Might be your pleasure now,” she said to Ghost in particular.  “I’ll take mine in the cockpit.”

She was about to pipe up in response to Rawley’s comment about a training center, but Archon beat her to the punch with his quip about blowing the place up and Reggie did something to which she was not accustomed.

She retreated.

It was bad enough that she had to hear it, given it had been her torpedo that had sent the fighter into the station.  But to hear the cavalier nature of Valin’s comments….  People had died there and it was a joke to him?

No.  She tried to convince herself that wasn’t it.  Not everyone responded to stress in the same way and under different circumstances she might have made a similar joke.  Even so… too soon.

Pushing the thought down, Reggie tried to pick up with the conversation again, opening her mind to pick up and absorb the emotions and feelings being radiated by the others around her.  Perhaps their jocularity would pull her back into the moment.

“It has to be better than getting nearly killed by a Klingon on Steroids.”

Reggie turned to the Orion who had transferred to Theurgy with her.  She hadn’t yet had the opportunity to get to know her all that well, and she sensed the sadness and the effort to hide it.

“That,” the Betazoid said to the Orion, “sounds like a story.  Do tell?”

With Victor getting up to hug him, Thomas had to crack a laugh himself. Returning the gesture before patting the man on the shoulder. Heh ad mentioned that Victor had arrived here before Ravon did as Ravon's path lead to the Kusanagi first, prior before his arrival on Theurgy. Thomas could only shake his head a little "Well I did have to get some experience first before I joined this boat, now didn't I?" he grinned and bumped his shoulder into him with a wink. Rawley brought up the nickname they had come up for him and Thomas couldn't help but grin wider, the idea tempting to put it up as his official callsign.

VanVinter obviously wanted a name that would suit him if he got the role of fighter pilot and the honor to fight alongside them. Thomas gave him a quick nod "Just don't rush it. I've lost enough good people out there. I want you to become an ace in the simulators, before I even let you get out there." he mentioned soft enough so only Victor would hear. Ravon had lost too many friends at this point and he wasn't about to send another one into the fray. Especially not since this time it would feel like he'd signed off on a mediocre pilot, unless Victor had some tricks up his sleeves.

The rest of the pilots began to mingle and bond, Thomas grabbed a drink and remained to the side while observing the new faces and caught up with anyone wanting to make smalltalk with him. His head however was in another place as he was still dealing with the grief and mourning the recent losses they had suffered, both squadron wide as personally.

Rawley just chuckled when the Chief said he didn't want to be called Troubleshooter, which meant she was definitely going to tease him with that callsign. She really liked it too, and why change something that fit so well? Chaos and Archon had her attention however, and while Sorek had a carefree attitude and looked forward to flying with her again, Valin teased her instead about her fighter. She couldn't be sure, but she had a feeling from back on the Jadestone that she was too much of a woman to handle. "Oh, the usual scrapes and shit, Chief Herrold is going to fix her up. Running diagnostics on her right now."

Speaking of which, the two women she had eyed up - whom she identified from the roster rather than by means of any introduction - had their separate reactions to her flirty comment. One would take her pleasure in the cockpit - boring - while the Orion gave her reciprocal flirty glance. Oh, I will definitely be checking her out later...

Chief VanVinter didn't know of any tattoo artist to suggest to Suder, but Rawley knew of one for sure. "Oy, Suder? The Chief of the Deck has been known to tattoo some of the deck crew," she said, remembering the rumour that he'd also tattooed the Vulcan he'd been canoodling with, "I bet he can help you out. Ensign Liam Herrold. He's out there right now."

Having helped the Betazoid out, Rawley wasn't just going to stand around. She glanced towards Ravon, considering whether or not she'd talk to him about the Scientist he's been seen with, and whom had been killed in action, but this wasn't the time. There were new pups to get to know, so after she wolfed down her slice of pizza, she figured that there was no better way than...

"Drinks!" she announced and sauntered off towards the replicators. She left her soda behind. "I'm having whiskey neat. What are you guys having?" She caught the eye of their squad leader and grinned widely. "Oh, bloody hell, Razor, it's just fucking synthehol. We'll be bloody fine. No worries, right?"

"No worries!" chimed in Logan, enjoying the bustle that had formed in the Den. So many people and faces. Laughter and conversation. He didn't realize how much he had missed it. Forgetting the cares of the world for a moment and just enjoy life. The new ones in the pack seemed to be fitting in just fine and it only served the pilot right. It showed that they were all on about the same wavelength.

He stood up and followed Rawley. Two extra hands carrying couldn't hurt. "First rounds on me!" he announced proudly with his mouth still half-full of the sandwich and firmly in the knowledge that he didn't have to pay anything. Those replicators were something else. "There's a Rusty Nail for me."

Logan thought about the tattoo story and wondered if it might be time to finally get one himself. Maybe now was just the right time. In his mind's eye, a motif was already emerging, but he couldn't quite grasp it yet. And then there was the great news that VanVinter was joining them on the roster. Logan didn't know him, but it was never wrong to want to turn your hobby into a profession, and from what he could tell VanVinter loved to fly space fighters. So why not fly one of these treasures? They were all aware of how badly they needed new pilots.

Logan leaned against the side of the replicator and waited for the others to order. He grabbed his Rusty Nail, whose main ingredients were Drambuie and Scotch given a special touch by the slice of orange, and a couple of other drinks to help carry Rawley, for one, and give the others a treat. "Finally, a 'halfway' decent drink, folks."

‘Ghost’ they called her.  The woman known as Evelyn Rawley was one hell of a presence.  Whereas the others around her were more like the ‘typical’ flyboys and girls to whom Reggie had grown accustomed, by the looks of her, Ghost was the epitome of ‘badass motherfucker’.  Reggie was unsure as to whether or not she and Rawley were compatible enough to be anything more than respected colleagues to one another, but as the old saying went, stranger things had been known to happen.  Plus she had a good tip on a tattoo artist.

“Thanks, Ghost.  I’ll talk to him.”

She raised her nearly empty glass to her and finished her drink in one pull.  It might be too soon, she realized, to get the wolf squadron emblem inked onto her.  She’d been in the Starhawk squadron for over a year before she got that piece of art.  She’d been a wolf for what… a few days and only been in one real engagement with them?  Perhaps a bit presumptuous.  But with the CAG putting her in command of the wing of Valravn fighters, she already knew there were expectations of her and that, on a some level, she’d been accepted into the Lone Wolves.    She’d feel things out over the next few days and see what the vibe was.

It was unlike her to be this introspective in a large group setting, she realized.  She’d been distracted since she’d come on board, her mind wandering through her past, and that incident with Kate Foster…..whuff.  Where in the hell had all that come from, she wondered?

She missed the combat squadrons more than she knew, she realized.  And she still was the new girl in town so it made sense not to be too over the top until they got to know her a little better.  That pilot in the bay who hadn’t flown with them against the Raptor had been right.  She needed to earn the respect of others.

“DRINKS!”

The announcement brought her back to the moment and someone… Ghost… was taking drink orders.

“I’ll have a double shot of Rum,” she called back.  “And then sex on the beach!”

The words were out of her mouth before she realized it.

Well… so much for not being too over the top.

Watching the band of pilots interact made Thomas smirk slightly. It wasn't until Rawley announced the introduction of drinks, that the male pilot rolled his eyes. Rawley called out to him and he shook his head and gave her a nod of approval. He didn't feel like drinking, at least not the sythenol crap. He needed to feel numb in a different way and he watched the orders stack up as they all gathered around Rawley.

Thomas shook his head in silence again before he turned on his heels and quietly left the hangar to return to his desk. paperwork had to be done as it came with the rank and he'd figure he could keep an eye on them from out of the office. He did manage to procure a slice of pizza before he made his way back, hearing the laughs, orders and sounds of his squadmates. He couldn't help but smile faintly and hope for the best in the future for the whole lot of them.

The announcement of drinks was a welcome one, bringing back fond memories of the Jadestone and the weekly poker games the squadron would sometimes partake in. He had rather liked that ship, the Akira-class vessels sporting an unique design he felt helped them stand out from the rest of the fleet while paying homage to the NX-class. But that was the past and he had to live for the present.

"Classic old fashioned here," Callax said with a grin, leaning back comfortably in his chair with arms crossed. "Have it use something top shelf. I know it's synthehol one way or another but the swill it defaults to using in the algorithm is vile." Some might not be able to taste the difference but an Ardanan city-dweller certainly could. One thing he was thankful for with his upbringing was a well-developed palate.

"So, what's everybody's story? Those of us who didn't come from the Oneida, that is. Was the Theurgy supposed to be the best of the best? Or a place to send Starfleet's troublesome," he asked with a light-hearted tone, shifting a gaze briefly in Evelyn's direction. "It's not too bad of a ship to live a fugitive on, I suppose. Could be worse. Could be on an Excelsior-class with its walls chipping."

If the Theurgy had a reputation within Starfleet he had either been too distracted to notice it or too skeptical to believe unverified rumors. Though the ship itself was an engineering marvel, a ship is only as good as the crew manning it. A tool to be used to great effect or little.

Getting her whiskey neat, Evelyn heard Suder's request and it made her laugh. "Two shots coming up, but as for the sex, I am sure there is a beach down on Qo'noS somewhere," Ghost said with a sly little smirk in Reggie's direction before returning to the table with the drinks.

It seemed Thomas Ravon was content to leave them to their own devices, and Rawley looked at his retreating back for a moment. She knew that the death of the scientist, Zephyr Praise, weighed heavily on him, and she hoped their Wolf Leader would go talk to a counsellor and try to process it all. Since they had shore leave, perhaps he ought to take some time off too. Either way, she'd been flying with Thomas for a long time, and she had great empathy for him. Sure, they'd had their ups and downs over the past months of the mission, with plenty of altercations revolving around the way he' been mind-melded by Doctor Maya at the behest of Nicander, but he was - ultimately - innocent of it all, and since Aldea they were on far better terms. It had been a boon to have Miles Renard back as well, letting him and Ravon talk things through, so it had been a hard blow learning about Renard being KIA during the battles with House Mo'Kai. All in all, despite the losses, times had been good with Ravon.

Pulled from her reverie, she heard Callax Valin make a snide little comment about the Theurgy, suggesting that it might be a place where pilots like herself ended up, and she laughed at it - remembering the banter with the man from the Jadestone. She couldn't give less of a fuck what people thought of her, because at the end of the day, she was bloody ace pilot, and she got shit done. It was their problem if they didn't like her jargon, since she didn't live to please others. At least not out of the sheets, she amended to herself in private humour.

"Well, given that you're here, Valin, I suppose our stellar track record is bloody ruined," she bit back in good faith with a sardonic smirk. "Now, we're in the latter category, and it's all gone to shit. A toast for the troublesome!"

And the laughter was the first steps to a group of stray wolves finding their place in the pack.
