The Trill brought the ship around, positioning the shuttle at the starboard docking port. He extended the docking collar and clamps, which had difficulty locking onto the Klingon ship for few moments before finally attaching themselves. He checked the seal. Not pressurized. Damn the damage was extensive. Through the docking collar, the helmsman transferred a little energy, trying to get the emergency forcefields to activate.

But the damn things refused to kick on and eventually he just gave up. Instead he attenuated the internal forcefields to make a sort of airlock. By using the fields, they could open the hatch without depressurizing the inside of the shuttle. He set them to only open when the other fields were up and a few moments later everything was set.

A few short steps later he joined Tessa, grabbing his gear. Methodically he donned it, checking each connection twice before moving on. When he was finally dressed for this little jaunt, he grabbed a phaser, holstering it on his hip. ”We have no idea the state of the crew. Given the damage to the outer hull, it’s possible they might be experiencing hypoxia from lack of air. They may be suffering from hallucinations which could in turn cause them to be violent. Keep a weapon at your side just in case.”

Picking up a repair kit, he stepped inside the makeshift airlock and waited for Tessa to join him.

Tessa stood at the ready as she watched Lt Veradin put his suit on. She watched him checking the instruments before he approached her with some words of what to be ready for. "We have no idea the state of the crew. Given the damage to the outer hull, it's possible they might be experiencing hypoxia from lack of air. They may be suffering from hallucinations which could in turn cause them to be violent. Keep a weapon at your side just in case."

She nodded, "I agree, the crew could be suffering from any number of issues. I'll be ready." Tessa saw that Derik was waiting for her on the platform to the cobbled-together airlock, and she proceeded to walk onto it, joining his side.

"Akel, watch the ship and if Ghost or Whiteout arrive, have them keep watch around the Tesla and the Daqchov. Never know what to expect anymore. Be prepared for injured." She watched him give a nod and turn back to the control panel he was working at before she walked through the airlock to the Daqchov.

She grabbed her tricorder to scan for the crew. Strange... her tricorder was picking up Klingon and human life signs. That shouldn't be possible she thought to herself. Fortunately, that conundrum could wait as a Klingon officer came staggering over to her before falling to the deck plates of the dark ship. She pulled from her medical bag a hypo to innoculate the soldier on the ground. For a Klingon to die of lack of air didn't seem to be an honorable way for him to go out she thought to herself.

The lights were flickering in the midst of the corridors as the two officers stepped around the fallen Klingon officers. "We need to find environmental controls to help these crewmen get on their feet. I have no idea where it would be in this place though."

As she proceeded to scan, a Klingon soldier came barreling down the hallway. SoH 'Iv? Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam! He dashed, large arms outward and grabbed tightly around her waist, attempting to pry the phaser from her side as he squeezed to crush the are out of her. Her chest felt tight as her lungs were having difficulty breathing. Despite having the air supply in the suit, and he didn't, he was doing his best to crush the life out of her. She barely managed to squeak out the words, "...Help me..."

A hand came out of the shadows with a metal beam and clobbered the hefty Klingon over his head. His body slunk to the floor releasing Tessa so she could breathe again. The woman turned and saw a slender shape in the shadows step out wearing a breathing mask and a slightly charred Starfleet uniform. The individual was a redheaded female who stood with her hair pulled back, still holding the beam before tossing it on the ground.

"You wouldn't believe how handsy some of these Klingons can get when they're oxygen-deprived. You just have to show them who's boss." She winked at Tessa in a friendly but no-nonsense manner. She glanced at Tessa and sized her up and down, as well as Lt. Veradin. "Starfleet, good. We have some work to do here. Most of the crew is unconscious but there are a few stragglers." She stepped back towards the shadows and stepped further out of view heading in another direction seeing if they'd follow her.

Boarding the Klingon ship was nerve wracking. The halls were laced with scorch marks from internal explosions. Bulkheads were ripped asunder like wet paper in a child’s hands. Ship internals lay exposed like a book for anyone to examine. In a weird way it seemed kind of what one might find if the ship had been an actual Klingon in a hand to hand fight. Wounds everywhere, blood leaking, entrails spread, etc.

So finding crew laid out on the floor was not surprising. A few of them were dead but one was still breathing, if only shallowly. Tessa moved to assist, pulling out the first aid kit and treating the warrior. While she worked, Derik stepped off to the side to a nearby terminal, trying to access internal systems. The console displayed so much confused information, much of it scrambled in unintelligible nonsense. The main computer core must’ve taken a hit sometime during the battle.

Attempting to put the pieces back together blinded the Trill to the approaching crazed Klingon, whom rushed his crewmate in a fit of confused rage. He wrapped his arms around the smaller woman, attempting to crush her with brute strength. As soon as she cried out, Derik spun, unholstering his sidearm. ”LET HER GO WARRIOR! SHE IS NOT THE ENEMY!” He pointed the phaser at the two of them but in their struggle could not get a clean shot. He had to get the damn brute off her before she suffered any sort of meaningful injury.

Out of the dark came the answer, as a metal beam struck the Klingon over the back of the head. His body instantly went limp as he lost consciousness, releasing the pilot and collapsing on the floor like a sack of potatoes. But instead of lowering his weapon, Derik instead adjusted his aim as a woman emerged from the shadows. She didn’t seem immediately threatening as she indicated for them to follow. Derik looked at Tessa and merely shrugged. ”Follow her I guess. But keep your weapon ready. Likely to see more cuddly Klingons.”

She looked back at the redheaded woman as she waltzed off. Tessa looked back at Lt. Veradin and chuckled as she pulled out her phaser to the ready. "Well... I guess we follow her then. These Klingons sure are strong. Still not quite sure how she managed to subdue that one back there." she said shifting her head back as if to nod backward at the unconscious form behind them.

The bulkheads were sparking with multiple damaged points, and the lights flickered in the dark. Tessa activated a handheld flashlight to see ahead. "Hey you! How many of the Klingons are alive on this ship?" She waited for a response as she continued walking with Veradin nearby. Her head glanced in either direction as she scouted around her waving the flashlight into the shadows. Each step made her wonder if another slightly oxygen-deprived Klingon would come barreling out at her again on the attack.

A few corridors later, they made it near a room that somewhat resembled an environmental controls station. Of course, it was all in Klingon, and Tessa didn't know how to read that. "Well, it looks like we've found the environmental controls, but I don't read Klingon. Do you miss...?" Her spoken words lingered as she awaited the reply from the pretty redheaded woman. Secretly she wondered how the other female looked when not covered in ash from the ship's damage, and also because the lighting was so messed up on this ship. The flickering lights continued, but it was a reddish hue that enveloped the scenery.

She muttered to herself and phrase of encouragement not realizing that the others could hear her still in this quiet and barely functioning vessel. "The darkest hours are just before dawn." She shook her head and looked back at the officer in front of her. "So what are you doing here?"

[ Lt. Alana Pierce | IKS Daqchov ]
[Show/Hide]

After the scene clubbing the Klingon officer and her abruptly walking off, Pierce was ready to leave this dump of a ship. Her mission to the Theurgy was already severely delayed as is and this tattered ship wasn't helping matters any. She looked around, her ponytail swinging behind her neck as she turned her head, but she didn't see what she was looking for. "Damn..." she said under her breath.

Thankfully, she had practice surviving on Klingon vessels in the past, albeit of an older specification. Quickly she approached a console, her feet moving softly but swiftly. She tapped a few commands as the sound of footsteps belonging to Tessa and Derik rang behind her. She didn't need to turn around to confirm it was the Starfleet officers as she was familiar with their stealth tactics. Not to mention that Starfleet officers are quieter, and lighter on their feet compared to the Klingons.

Her hands tapped a few controls as Tessa was behind her. The voice asked for her to halt, but she hadn't found everything yet and chose to ignore the junior officer. She chose however to respond to the inquiry on surviving Klingons. "Honestly, I really don't know. I would estimate somewhere around 20 to 30 remain. Many were blown out of the hull when we were fired upon and disabled. Others died of asphyxiation. I'd suggest tagging them for transport since I can assume you brought a small ship of some kind to rescue them."

Pierce discovered the console she was seeking and tapped a few controls into her tricorder and laid it on the keypad as she proceeded to key in a sequence and begin a data transfer. Again the blonde spoke to her, although slightly annoyed, she decided to answer the quirky individual's request. "I actually do read Klingon. And the name is Pierce. Lieutenant Jessica Alana Pierce. You can call me Alana or Al for short."

Next to the blonde, Pierce saw Lt. Veradin and was still somewhat unfamiliar with the Trill species. Something she'd have to learn later. "You!" she pointed at Derik. "Are you the officer in charge here?" She waited for a response from Derik as she was forced to answer another of the cheeky blonde's questions. "If you must know, I am on an important mission, of which I cannot divulge at this time." Turning her head back to Derik. "What ship are you with?"

Walking down the corridors, looking at all the damage gave Veradin a pretty good idea of just how fucked the ship was. Ruptured conduits leaked the lifeblood of the vessel and everywhere he looked, something was sparking. A display, half dead, was throwing warning signs in Klingon. The symbols flashing violently as they passed.

When they finally reached what appeared to be the environmental control room, Derik stepped off to one side, checking one of the few still functioning consoles. His understanding of Klingon was limited but he could get a rudimentary understanding of what was going on. The engines, for lack of a better way of describing it, were gone. Non-salvageable by the looks of how much of them were actually missing. The hull had been cracked like an egg and basic life sign readings were far fewer than there should have been. Most of the crew was already dead. Shields were functioning at their lowest settings, only just keeping the heat below tolerances which was probably why they had no trouble boarding. This ship was lost. The crew just didn’t know it yet.

So when their “guide” started spouting off answers to the various questions that had been asked like bullets from a old earth machine gun, the Trill had to focus just to keep up. She revealed here “name” which may or may not have been true and was hurriedly interfacing the ship’s data system with her tricorder. Was she trying to get something? A question for another time. She already was being very shady with the details of her “mission”.

”Yes I am.” He answered matter-of-factly. ”Lieutenant Junior Grade Derik Veradin. Chief CONN officer of the USS Theurgy.” He turned to Tessa and spoke in a softer voice. ”She’s right. This ship probably only has minutes before it’s gone. We should get started on the crew.”

The ship was falling apart. Hearing the wise words of Pierce and Derik, she was inclined to agree. The ruins were surrounding them as well as various Klingon bodies. Her tricorder in hand, she scanned many of them, where some were still barely alive. "Lt. Izavid, prepare to receive Klingon refugees in the stasis pods."

"Aye, I'll be ready for them Tessa. Begin when ready."

She turned back to the task at hand and began placing beacons on the fallen soldiers of Martok. Little by little, blue waves of energy enveloped the individuals off the ship. Her mind was still a bit off from hearing the familiar last name of this mysterious human officer. She remembered her academy days when she met someone with the last name of Pierce. It was a bit jarring being she watched the other young Cadet blown outta the sky when they were navigating the Sol system.

Snapping back, Tessa gathered a few more Klingons, among them she saw General Sotugh also unconscious with some light burns on his flesh and uniform. Martok should be pleased with his General being alive. She tagged them with the transponder beacons before bumping into Lt. Veradin again. He mentioned that the ship likely had minutes left before they could get free with what crew they could muster. "That sounds like a good idea, sir. I've tagged the Klingons in this area and will head back to the ship to prepare for departure. Might not be a bad idea to check in on our mysterious help here and see what she knows as you prep to leave. See you soon!"

Tessa waltzed off, her space suit was still intact and she re-pressurized her suit as she traversed the corridors back to the temporary junction between vessels. She crossed the chamber and stepped back on the deck plates of the Tesla before taking her suit off. Taking stock of the filled pods, this would hopefully bode well in their alliance with Martok and the Empire. Hopefully, the Theurgy made some friends today in this act of duty for a fellow lifeform.

The Klingon vessel was getting close to a warp core breach or being pulled into the star. Either way, Pierce knew it was time to depart and fast. The panel she was staring at, although entirely in Klingon, was indeed giving her the information she required. These unfortunate soldiers were dealt with this hand of death for their loyalty to Martok and for discovering some intel on the various instigations between factions. Poor bastards she thought to herself.

Her download finally completed to her tricorder. These devices were most impressive still to her for how different, compact, and quick they worked compared to their 23rd-century counterparts. Evolution in technology was a beautiful thing until it inadvertently malfunctions. She punched in a few keys to encrypt the device before she shrugged, her hand closed the tricorder, and finally holstered it.

She turned, seeing Tessa heading back towards the ship and Lt. Veradin tagging some soldiers before he too headed back. Her hair grasped into a pony-tail flipped behind her as she turned back to the controls again. From her pocket, she pulled a small device to detonate the central computer core for when she'd gotten far enough away. "Alright, time to get the hell out of dodge."

Beginning a fast run and dash towards the Tesla Pierce had what she came for and the rescue she wasn't fully expecting to get. But she'd gotten it and it was time to go. Jogging faster, she climbed in over at the shuttle and left that Klingon ship behind as she admired Starfleet's modern motif in design. Never ceased to amaze her. Nevertheless, it was time to go. She strapped herself into one of the chairs near a console and attempted to transmit the data to no avail.

"Let's get this show on the road and back to the Theurgy. You don't want to be near that thing when it blows." Her face beholding a somewhat cold star, which was hard to display on the face of such beauty.

Trailing blue and gold lights flashed as more and more officer were beamed off the dying Klingon ship. Even as he walked down the corridors saving those he could, Derik was finding just as many dead. His path took him the long way around back to the airlock, but he couldn’t dally. The ship was actively groaning louder and louder under the stress. No doubt the outer hull would begin buckling and melting in a few minutes from being so close to the sun.

He only arrived back onboard the Tesla a few moments before the women did. Their forcefield airlock cycled and without bothering to take his gear off, the Trill took the helm again. From his chair he could see that they had a number of Klingons now aboard, in cryo-pods or otherwise. He hoped the small ship could handle the oxygen needs long enough for them to reach Theurgy. Alarms began sounding as his console lit up. The Klingon ship was nearing it’s final moment’s and the ship’s sensors were actively warning them to escape. ”Strap in! This is gonna be close!”

Checking quickly to make sure everyone was onboard, Veradin disengaged the docking clamps and swung the ship around. He pushed the impulse engines to full, rocketing away from the warship mere moments before it exploded into another, short lived, sun. Shrapnel impacted their rear shields with considerable force, pushing the protective field to the very limit to keep all the debris off their hull. With a few quick taps they jumped to warp, heading for the rendezvous.

Tessa watched as Lt. Veradin climbed on board and not a moment too soon as she saw the makeshift forcefield airlock breakdown and disintegrate. Without missing a beat, he and a few Klingons climbed into their respective seating arrangements. She watched Derik skip the removal of his flight suit and ran his hands across the controls no doubt to get the Tesla out of harm's way in a hurry.

Hearing his yell about strapping in for a close ride, she strapped in accordingly as did the others. Akel had to remind himself to actually sit down since he was busily running scans of all the individuals in his makeshift stasis pods in the back of the ship. The feeling of the ship thrusting away from the Daqchov was not a moment too soon as the shockwave and debris hit the small ship before going to warp with an added burst of speed.

Her hands scanned and moved in a volley of arrangements on her instrument panels as well. Carefully helping Derik and ensuring that they would avoid any unwanted attention. From the looks of things, the shot was clear and they would finally be back on the Theurgy. The icon for Wolf 08, Alessia Garcia "Angel" was en route back to the ship as well. She must have taken out whoever was piloting the ancient Klingon Birds-of-Prey that attacked them at the start of their mission. That at least was a good sign to her that not only had she succeeded but would be coming home too. They'd lost too many Valkyries from the Wolves as of late and it was refreshing to see them return home.

"The route appears to be all clear sir." She said still looking things over.

On the other side of the Tesla Akel Izavid was busily computing trajectories and maintaining the power supply of the Klingons in stasis, ensuring that when they returned to the Theurgy that medical could bring them out and help Martok's men achieve an honorable death rather than a being sabotaged and dying without honor. He was a little sorry he couldn't have gone on board but he was needed here.

[ Lt. Alana Pierce | Shuttle Tesla | Cockpit Cabin | Mid-Warp ] [Show/Hide]

Pierce was strapped in reviewing the data and discovered there were several plots ongoing between the creatures that implanted themselves in their respective species to wreak havoc as well as some in the Klingon Empire among other places. She knew these rescued men would help the cause for Martok's Chancellorship to succeed. Especially seeing as how the attack was done by members of their own species of another regime. The morale boost would be great for Martok and hopefully, reveal the Theurgy's and Starfleet's intentions for Martok to remain an ally.

As she sat back, she felt a little apprehension of reporting to another commanding officer aboard the Theurgy and the fact the ship was a large place to be in the first place. She'd read reports to be familiar with the ship and crew as well as the interesting capabilities of the renegade Starfleet vessel. Now she would experience it first hand and become one of those renegades to restore Starfleet to its once former status of exploration.

Time passed on the ship and soon Warp disengaged thanks to their very capable pilot, Lt. Veradin. Alana watched the viewscreen as Derik and the others from the Theurgy worked the controls, guiding the Tesla which was surprisingly a very capable vessel, into the shuttlebay. She peered at the giant ship which was a far cry from anything she'd ever seen in the 23rd century. This made the magnificent Excelsior look like a small frigate by comparison. It was a truly impressive sight to behind with its vast technical engineering.

As the ship landed on the deck plates, she could hear the Theurgy shuttle bay repressurize from the docking maneuver. She unlatched her safety restraints as did the rest of the crew and each stood up awaiting Lt. Izavid's opening of the rear hatch. Bright lights lit up the small ship as it opened and revealed the Theurgy in a small part. Klingon officers each taking their queue to leave, Pierce saw Lieutenants Izavid, Veradin, and Lance step off the ship before she did as well. Looking over her shoulder, she saw Tessa wave and Pierce nodded back to her acknowledging that she would catch up later. Right now, there was much to be done and little time to do it. But first, she had to speak with the Klingon called, Sotugh, who happened to survive but wouldn't have if it weren't for the Theurgy's intervention.

Sotugh stepped up next to Lt. Pierce and looked down at her. He admired the human female who currently wore an all black mission suit, in addition to some Klingon chest and hand armor to better protect herself while among them. He was impressed that this human was reported to have not only read Klingonese but that she had subdued several of his officers on board the IKS Daqchov. Surprising, but not unexpected.

"tlham QI'tu' tangqa' mIw vIwuq." (Greetings human. I am Sotugh. Leader of the House of DachoH.)

"ghIlab Sotugh. "

"pay' ghumtaH HIq vIghaj. bIDuy' 'e' vIpIHchugh, bIDalchugh." (I am Lieutenant Alana Pierce. I've been sent to assist you in discovering the traitor that left you adrift.)

You may speak your native tongue human. You have impressed me this day.

Alana was surprised as typically Klingons preferred not to talk in Terran languages but this worked too.

"Sotugh, I'm sorry for the deception aboard your vessel in my official name and title but I had to have certainty you were who you said you were in these troubling times. I have reason to believe a coup is in progress against Chancellor Martok whom you know well. I was placed on your vessel to assist in intelligence gathering, and while I cannot divulge what at this time until we have more information, I believe you, and an ally of Martok is in grave danger. No doubt you realize that from the sabotage on your vessel. We saved as many as we could, but none of us were meant to leave that ship alive. These people here are allies as well. They sought out after hearing your ship was adrift to search and rescue you and your crew. At present, some of your crew are being treated in our main sickbay."

Sotugh pondered this information and furrowed his brow while Alana stood firm in place, protruding an arrogance of knowing what she reported to be true. He looked her over again noting that although she'd likely seen some serious shit, she was honorable based on her actions on board his ship both before and after the attack. Very well Lieutenant. You have earned honor with this crew on this day and have earned an ally of the Klingon Empire and my house. Now, I must go speak with the Chancellor. We have much to discuss. Qapla! He said as he turned to attention and beat his chest with one fist to which Alana mirrored him, to honor the great house leader.

Pierce watched as the man turned away and disappeared into the corridors of the ship and she headed to the nearest deck officer to report in. This was going to be an interesting flight indeed.
