Originally from the 23rd century, and male, Pierce served on various starships before getting caught in a temporal distortion that pulled her into the late 24th century. Since coming to this century, she experienced a transporter pattern buffer accident which left her the task of adapting to her new life and era. It was Rear Admiral Anderson who tasked her with joining the crew of the USS Theurgy in their fight against the parasitically infested Starfleet Command, and she soon became the ship’s Chief Intelligence Officer.<br><br>

James Alan Pierce was born in 2254 in New Haven, Earth. Growing up, he enjoyed all the advantages that the Federation and Earth had to offer. His curiosity led him to the stars, eager to uncover the hidden aspects of events unfolding around him.

Later in life, he joined Starfleet and set the wheels in motion of becoming an officer. Hearing the legendary tales of men such as Captain's Pike and Kirk, he was driven to be just as good in the line of duty. He eventually served with Captain Kirk on the original Enterprise for a short two-year stint fresh out of the Academy.
As he matured, Pierce joined Starfleet, setting his sights on becoming an officer. Inspired by the legendary tales of Captains Pike and Kirk, he aspired to achieve greatness in his duties. Fresh out of the Academy, he served with Captain Kirk on the original Enterprise for a brief but impactful two-year stint.

Eventually, he transferred to the USS Eagle (NCC-956) in late 2278, another of the refit Constitution-class vessels since those were one of his favorite designs. With the change, he switched specializations from Tactical to Intelligence. The need to dig deeper into the missions at hand as well as selections for particular covert operations drove Pierce’s desire for adventure and Starfleet’s peacekeeping mission. As he went up the ranks throughout the years, he eventually became the Executive Officer aboard the vessel at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
In late 2278, Pierce transferred to the USS Eagle (NCC-956), a refit Constitution-class vessel, one of his favorite designs. With this change, he shifted his specialization from Tactical to Intelligence, driven by a desire to delve deeper into missions and participate in covert operations. His passion for adventure and Starfleet’s peacekeeping mission fueled his career progression.

Over the years, Pierce climbed the ranks, eventually becoming the Executive Officer aboard the USS Eagle (NCC-956) with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His journey was marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a commitment to Starfleet’s ideals.

Incident of 2284
In 2284, the USS Eagle (NCC-956) embarked on a covert mission to secure a critical component for the highly classified “Project Genesis.” Despite the project’s ultimate failure, the concept and process were groundbreaking. The mission required multiple ships to source various materials, with the USS Eagle (NCC-956) tasked with obtaining protomatter for the matrix to function. This delicate operation involved coordinating with Romulan and Orion contacts, all while keeping the mission off the books and away from Starfleet’s radar. Admiral Cartwright, then head of Starfleet Intelligence, orchestrated the mission, setting in motion a series of highly unethical events. Tragically, a close friend of Pierce’s lost their life in the line of duty while acquiring the substance.

Cartwright’s plan was a near-suicide mission that could have sparked interstellar war in the quadrant. The other factions were puzzled by Starfleet’s need for protomatter and the quantities involved. As the USS Eagle (NCC-956) prepared for the meeting, rumors surfaced that Cartwright intended to test the protomatter before handing it over to the scientists and Dr. Marcus. Although Cartwright was not a scientist, it was believed he wanted to assess the device’s destructive capabilities.

Pierce, sensing something amiss, analyzed the data and discovered that the USS Eagle (NCC-956) was the intended detonation site. Cartwright had planted Romulan agents to set the capsule off on a timer. This type of capsule could not be beamed and had to be transported via shuttlecraft. Pierce managed to use a tractor beam to push the capsule away from the ship before reaching high warp. The capsule detonated, destroying the other vessels and nearly taking the USS Eagle (NCC-956) with it. While the full aftermath remained unclear, the ship and its crew were saved.

Cartwright denied any involvement in the incident, but Pierce was subsequently sidelined from intelligence operations and reserved for more dangerous missions. He continued to serve primarily as the Executive Officer of the USS Eagle (NCC-956) during this period. It wasn’t until 2286 that Cartwright personally called upon Pierce again.

Mission of 2286
Mission of 2286
In 2286, tragedy would arise as he accepted an undercover intelligence-gathering mission in Klingon space. His mission was to gather samples of a rare form of bio-mimetic gel the Klingons were working with for genetic experimentation. He was also tasked with hacking into their database to compile the plans and the formulas for the compound and destroy their database. The Empire in their desire to beat the Federation employed enzymes from key plants on the surface of the Qu'Vat Colony, which was the same place the Klingons created the Klingon augment virus over a century ago. They hoped to succeed where others had previously failed with this new form of a Klingon mutagenic virus. So they attempted to combine the enzymes and bio-mimetic gel with Klingon and Gorn DNA to create the ultimate warrior. Pierce managed to gather a few containers of the material with neither the Klingon nor the Gorn DNA added to it before being captured. Before he set off, Pierce downloaded the information and transmitted it back to Starfleet Command, and set in motion a viral deletion code for the formula to prevent the Empire from taking this to the next stage.

As a result of his escape, he ended up securing the physical materials onboard the shuttlecraft. As a battle ensued, Pierce and his shuttle collided with a Temporal Distortion where he was reported Missing in Action. It was unknown what caused it during the battle, but in his valiant efforts, Pierce was awarded the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor Posthumously.

Before his capture, Pierce downloaded the information, transmitted it back to Starfleet Command, and initiated a viral deletion code to prevent the Empire from advancing their project.

During his escape, Pierce secured the physical materials onboard a shuttlecraft. Amidst the ensuing battle, his shuttle collided with a Temporal Distortion, leading to his status as Missing in Action. The cause of the distortion during the battle remained unknown, but Pierce’s valiant efforts earned him the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor posthumously. His bravery and dedication to Starfleet’s mission were remembered and honored, even as the mystery of his disappearance lingered.

The 24th Century
The 24th Century
In 2380, his shuttlecraft resurfaced in Federation space after the temporal distortion spat out the small ship. He attempted to beam out to any world, ship, or space station he could muster as the small vessel experienced cascading systems failures and a potential warp core breach. Knocked unconscious by a bulkhead rupture, and his precious cargo being compromised, he was sprayed with the bio-mimetic gel enzyme chemicals as he lay sprawled on the deck. Within drifting range of Starbase 82, the transporter officers couldn't beam Pierce off the shuttle to begin with due to interference from the rapidly deteriorating shuttle. The small craft being of such an old design, however, they managed to access the onboard transporter systems remotely and got a lock on the man - saving him before the shuttle exploded.
In 2380, Pierce’s shuttlecraft resurfaced in Federation space after being expelled from the temporal distortion. The small vessel was experiencing cascading systems failures and a potential warp core breach. Desperate, Pierce attempted to beam out to any nearby world, ship, or space station. Unfortunately, a bulkhead rupture knocked him unconscious, and his precious cargo was compromised, spraying him with bio-mimetic gel enzyme chemicals as he lay sprawled on the deck.

Due to a pattern buffer malfunction with the compound covering him, however, the bio-filters were off, and the enzyme mutated his chromosomes, which led to a change in his cellular structure mid-transport. Pierce found himself combined with the plant’s enzyme and bio-mimetic gel, forming a new individual. Afterward, it was theorized that this had been made possible by the fact that during transport he would have to be broken down to a microcellular level, and so his DNA and proteins were all in a state of molecular flux. If an enzyme causing symbiogenesis interacted with DNA while in the matter stream, their patterns might then be merged. The Symbiogenesis was a rare reproductive process. Instead of pollination or mating, symbiogenetic organisms merged with a second species to create a hybrid. The bio-mimetic gel and enzymes reacted with the separated microcellular state he was in, thus combining DNA. The enzyme was found to contain the same elements as many plants including chloroplasts, lysosomal enzymes, and cytoplasmic proteins.
Drifting within range of Starbase 82, the transporter officers initially struggled to beam Pierce off the shuttle due to interference from the rapidly deteriorating craft. However, given the shuttle’s old design, they managed to access the onboard transporter systems remotely and locked onto Pierce, saving him just before the shuttle exploded.

As a result, there had been only one pattern, the combined one, which rematerialized on Starbase 82. The biochemical analysis of a symbiogenetic plant from the colony was found to be a contributing factor in the result. The combination was a success, and while the chromosomal layout was entirely changed, it resulted in his body being inadvertently converted to a female version of himself due to the plant’s chromosomes being that of a female’s.

Pierce had no ill effects physically or mentally. Although his genetics were almost identical, his male body was unfortunately lost to him forever, having no prior transporter pattern on file in the modern era of Starfleet databases. His personality and memories were the same as they were up to that point of the accident, and James decided to accept his fate and don the name of Jessica Alana Pierce - going by the name Alana or Al for short.

With her awakening in sickbay on Starbase 82, the Science Department ran weeks of tests and determined what it was that caused the issue during transport. Unfortunately, the medical staff was baffled and Pierce seemed forced to live as a woman for the rest of her existence. As she began to get around again and was reactivated for duty with a new profile in the Starfleet databanks, she wished to continue her career. She began her re-acclimation and reeducation to the 24th Century, bringing some unique insights from the past century. Given her lack of familiarity with current-century policy and technology, she was demoted to Lieutenant, with the mutual trust in her acclimatizing sooner rather than later with the updated regulations and protocol.

Slowly over the coming year, Pierce formed a friendship with Rear Admiral Joseph Nerva Anderson of Starfleet Intelligence and other officers on the starbase, but yearned for something more hands-on and in the field again over being on a starbase. At the beginning of 2381, she was awarded the "Starfleet Extended Tour Ribbon" for deciding to stay in the ranks and rededicate her life to Starfleet. Soon after the recommitment, Pierce asked to be placed on an assignment almost deemed a no-win scenario wherever he could find it. Anderson sent Pierce and other officers off on intelligence gathering recon missions throughout the Federation. One particular mission, Pierce discovered a lot of unorthodox movements and stationing of personnel and flag officers. She intercepted a transmission that was relayed to Anderson on a secure channel which provided details in regards to the Theurgy’s whereabouts and their proof of Starfleet Command’s infiltration.
Over the course of the following year, Pierce developed a close friendship with Rear Admiral Joseph Nerva Anderson of Starfleet Intelligence and other officers on the starbase. However, she yearned for more hands-on and fieldwork experiences rather than being confined to a starbase. At the beginning of 2381, she was awarded the Starfleet Extended Tour Ribbon for her decision to remain in the ranks and rededicate her life to Starfleet. Shortly after this recommitment, Pierce requested to be placed on assignments that were considered nearly impossible to win. Anderson assigned Pierce and other officers to intelligence-gathering recon missions throughout the Federation. During one such mission, Pierce uncovered numerous unorthodox movements and stationing of personnel and flag officers. She intercepted a transmission and relayed it to Anderson on a secure channel, providing details about the Theurgy’s whereabouts and evidence of Starfleet Command’s infiltration.

With Pierce’s new appearance, she was able to create ways of infiltrating compounds that as a male, she’d been unable to pursue. She had discovered on one particular data gathering assignment that the thalaron bombs were not merely isolated attacks, but an orchestrated chess game that made each faction a pawn that would eliminate each other. She determined that this would allow the Infested an easier route to taking over the galaxy. Moreover, rumblings of a coup in the Klingon Empire took place to steal the seat of and overthrow Chancellor Martok. Pierce transmitted the data on a secure channel up the chain to Admiral Anderson that he’d caught intel from Captain Ives of a bomb going off in the Spearhead Lounge Bomb on the USS Theurgy, as well as other isolated incidents that seemed to not be connected but were in her opinion a multiple front distraction to keep each team from succeeding.

A New Chapter
A New Chapter
Anderson tasked Pierce with the mission of discovering who in the Klingon Empire wanted to overthrow Chancellor Martok as well as discover who was to blame for the bombing on the Theurgy. Anderson decided that with Pierce’s background and need for something dangerous, that she should be assigned to a mission worthy of her talents. With the Theurgy lacking in the available crew, he assigned Pierce to the vessel in the hope that she could help the ship's Intelligence Department determine the plotted machinations behind these acts of destruction.
Admiral Anderson, recognizing Pierce’s unique background and her craving for dangerous assignments, tasked her with uncovering the conspirators within the Klingon Empire who sought to overthrow Chancellor Martok, as well as identifying those responsible for the bombing on the Theurgy. Given the Theurgy’s shortage of available crew, Anderson believed that Pierce’s talents would be invaluable to the ship’s Intelligence Department in unraveling the intricate plots behind these acts of destruction.

Pierce was sent towards Qo’nos on board the Daqchov to rendezvous with the Theurgy as they were attacked and left adrift near a star. An away-team with Lt. Izavid, Lt. Lance, and Lt. Veradin arrived at the Daqchov, who managed to retrieve Pierce and the remaining Klingon officers. However, she was not too forthcoming with the Klingons or the crew. The crew was suspicious of her, as she awaited her eventual arrival to the Theurgy with the intention of speaking with Ives or her new Department Head before she joined in their fight.

However, Pierce remained guarded and secretive, arousing suspicion among both the Klingons and the crew. She awaited her eventual arrival on the Theurgy with the intention of speaking with Captain Ives or her new Department Head before fully integrating into their mission.

After the Battle of the Houses, Alana was serving aboard the Theurgy as Asst. Chief Intelligence Officer, and when Lieutenant Commander Andrew Fisher was KIA, she succeeded him as the ship’s Chief Intelligence Officer. At that point, Captain Ives gave her a field promotion to Lieutenant Commander - her old rank reinstated.
Following the Battle of the Houses, Alana served aboard the Theurgy as the Assistant Chief Intelligence Officer. When Lieutenant Commander Andrew Fisher was killed in action, she succeeded him as the ship’s Chief Intelligence Officer. Recognizing her exceptional skills and dedication, Captain Ives granted her a field promotion to Lieutenant Commander, reinstating her former rank.

Pierce was a highly intelligent, tactically minded Starfleet Intelligence officer. She learned surprisingly quickly how to conclude on particular situations, so she could be slightly arrogant. Due to her perceived intelligence, and knowledge of the past, she held a fierce distrust of Klingons due to the time period she came from. With her newfound appearance, she used it to her advantage. While she used to be a ladies’ man, it's left her with a conundrum of re-evaluating her personal interests due to her present condition.
Pierce, the Intrepid Starfleet Intelligence Officer

While she was originally male, it created a situation where she had to deal with learning the ins and outs of not only the 24th Century but being female instead. With knowing things of the past that could help in the modern-day, and the frustration she had with her current situation, she had to just come to terms with it. Overcome with the loss of her era, her old body, and the state of the once-proud Starfleet in this era, she adopted a mission-first attitude. Everyone she knew being dead now left her a loner of sorts, but trust in the structure of Command and camaraderie.
Pierce, a seasoned Starfleet Intelligence officer, possessed a razor-sharp intellect and tactical acumen that rivaled even the most advanced starship sensors. Her mind was a finely tuned tricorder, swiftly analyzing complex situations and drawing conclusions with the precision of a photon torpedo trajectory. This uncanny ability occasionally fueled a touch of arrogance—a trait she wore like a captain’s insignia on her uniform.

Due to her time period, and before Kirk's epic standoff at Camp Khitomer, Pierce had a difficult time trusting and wanted to be even near Klingons because of the events that landed her in the 24th Century. She would essentially be suspicious of any interactions with the Klingons despite some good workings with them. Not trusting the Klingons led her to investigate them more thoroughly whenever they're part of the strategy or mission at hand.
But Pierce’s brilliance wasn’t merely a product of her training; it was steeped in history. She hailed from a tumultuous time, an era when the Federation grappled with Klingon conflicts and temporal anomalies. Her knowledge of past events—like the Battle of Khitomer and the Khitomer Accords—made her wary of Klingons. Their honor-bound warrior culture clashed with her pragmatic approach, leaving her with a lingering distrust.

Then came the unexpected twist: a temporal rift spat her out into the 24th century, but with a twist of its own. Pierce, once male, now inhabited a female form. Adjusting to this new reality was akin to recalibrating a malfunctioning warp core. She navigated the intricacies of gender identity while mastering the nuances of a century that had evolved beyond her own. The chronicle of her transformation would rival any holonovel.

Her nostalgia for the past was palpable. The loss of her era—the familiar hum of pre-LCARS panels, the camaraderie of shipmates—weighed heavily. Yet, Pierce adapted. She donned her uniform with renewed purpose, embracing a mission-first ethos. The ghosts of her former crewmates whispered encouragement as she charted unexplored sectors and deciphered encrypted subspace messages.

And then there were the Klingons. Those bumpy-foreheaded warriors haunted her. She couldn’t shake the memories of her arrival—the disorienting swirl of chroniton particles, the scent of ozone—and the realization that she was stranded in this time. Her distrust ran deep, like a tributary flowing through her psyche. Even when cooperation seemed prudent, she scrutinized Klingon motives like a Romulan spy scanning for cloaked vessels.

Pierce’s quarters held relics from her past: a photo of her old crew, a PADD with mission logs, and a bottle of Saurian brandy—the latter a nod to her former life as a ladies’ man. But now, romance was a nebula she dared not explore. The present demanded focus, and she’d be damned if she let sentimentality disrupt her warp core alignment.

So, Pierce stood at the crossroads of time, a lone Starfleet officer navigating uncharted space. She clung to Starfleet’s principles—the North Star guiding her—while keeping one eye on the Klingon constellations. Trust was a scarce resource, but she’d learned that even in the vastness of the galaxy, allies could emerge from unlikely nebulae.

Physical Profile
Physical Profile
After Pierce gained her female form, she had a decidedly beautiful body from the accident. She had flowing red hair and a strong athletic build bordering on model-like. She had a remarkable bust at 34E, and a swimsuit body to die for. Pierce’s situation allowed her to dress up, and play multiple parts in espionage missions due to her good looks and sultry displays. Her voice was sexy and slightly southern in tone. She had no tattoos or body piercings.
Pierce: The Sultry Espionage Operative
In the quantum flux of temporal anomalies, Pierce emerged—a living paradox. Once male, now graced with a form that could turn even a Vulcan’s logic circuits into spaghetti. Her red hair flowed like a comet’s tail, and her athletic build—more starship than shuttlecraft—bordered on the divine. If the holodeck had a “model” setting, Pierce would be its default.

But this wasn’t a mere cosmetic upgrade. No, her 34E bust was a strategic asset, a disruptor hidden in plain sight. Espionage became her art form, and she played multiple roles with the finesse of a shape-shifting Changeling. One day, she’d be the enigmatic Orion slave girl, whispering secrets in the Grand Nagus’s ear. The next, a Romulan senator’s mistress, decoding subspace messages over candlelit dinners. Her voice—a symphony of sultry notes—could coax a confession from a Ferengi, or lull a Klingon warrior into a false sense of security. It had a hint of southern charm, like sweet tea served on Risa’s beaches. When Pierce spoke, admirals leaned in, ensigns blushed, and even the stoic Data raised an eyebrow.

And then there were the swimsuits. Pierce would slip into a Starfleet-issue one-piece, ready to infiltrate a beach resort on Rigel VII. Or don a shimmering Andorian bikini, blending seamlessly with the azure waters of Pacifica. Her mission parameters? Classified. Her curves? Declassified. Tattoos and piercings? None. Her skin bore no inked allegiance to any house or faction. Instead, she wore her loyalties like a subspace encryption key—hidden, yet essential. The only mark on her body was a faint scar, a memento from the accident that reshaped her destiny. It traced the path of a disruptor blast, a reminder that beauty could be both armor and vulnerability.

Pierce’s existence defied causality. She danced on the event horizon, a tango with time itself. And as she slipped into yet another disguise—this time as a Betazoid diplomat—she wondered: Would her past self recognize her now? Would the old Pierce, the one who once navigated star charts and warp cores, appreciate the cosmic joke that had turned her into a femme fatale?

But there was no time for nostalgia. The quadrant teemed with intrigue—the Romulan Neutral Zone, the Klingon Empire's battles, and the infested played cosmic chess with the quadrant. Pierce adjusted her uniform, straightened her comm badge, and stepped into the turbolift. Her mission? Classified. Her resolve? Unwavering. And so, Pierce—part femme fatale, part temporal anomaly—strode through the corridors of the USS Theurgy, her red hair catching the light like a comet’s tail. The galaxy awaited her next move, unaware that its fate rested in the hands (and other strategic assets) of a woman who defied both time and gravity.

Special Notes
Special Notes
Although capable of Commanding a Starship, she preferred to follow in the steps of Spock and Riker in learning as much as possible with capable leaders, hence either being sidestepped for command opportunities or not accepting them unless as a temporary status. Her status of being from the 23rd century would be either shrouded in secrecy per Anderson or due to herself not wanting it disclosed unless to a trusted friend. Her records of events have been sealed up and fabricated for recent events for the official record.
Commander Pierce: A Starship Sage
Commander Pierce—a paradox in a uniform, she possessed the skills to command a starship, yet chose to walk the path of the wise. Spock and Kirk were her lodestars—their footsteps imprinted on her psyche like stardate coordinates. When the captain’s chair beckoned, Pierce reluctantly accepted. She’d sidestep command opportunities with the grace of a Vulcan diplomat. Why? Because she hungered for knowledge—the kind that couldn’t be replicated in a holodeck simulation. The universe pulsed with secrets, and she craved them like a Ferengi eyeing latinum.

Her 23rd-century origins? A classified footnote in the ship’s logs. Admiral Anderson—the enigmatic custodian of temporal secrets—guarded her past like a Romulan cloaking device. Pierce played her part, deflecting inquiries with a raised eyebrow and a cryptic smile. Only trusted confidantes glimpsed the truth—a truth woven into subspace whispers and encrypted messages. The official record? Fabricated. Her exploits—once etched in chroniton particles—now danced on a tightrope of half-truths. Pierce’s existence was a cosmic ellipsis—an enigma wrapped in a warp bubble.

Also, due to her recent change, she tended to inadvertently watch her figure more and eat more of a plant-based meal plan. Although she was more than capable of devouring a nice steak dinner on occasion too.
And then came the change—the quantum leap that left her with a new form. A body sculpted by celestial hands—a symphony of curves and angles. Her red hair flowed like plasma conduits, and her athletic build defied gravity. She wore her uniform like a second skin, each pip a testament to her journey. But this metamorphosis had side effects. Pierce, once indifferent to replicator menus, now scrutinized her choices. Plant-based meals—kelpien salads, Vulcan lentil stew—became her sustenance. She’d nibble on a sprig of kale while decrypting Romulan ciphers. Yet, hidden in her quarters, a contraband steak awaited—a guilty pleasure, like a secret tryst with a holodeck character.

And so, Commander Pierce navigated the currents of time and duty. Her 23rd-century self remained a whisper, a subspace echo. But her present—this 24th-century tapestry—was woven with threads of curiosity, courage, and the occasional indulgence in forbidden delicacies. As the USS Theurgy charted unexplored secrets, Pierce leaned against the viewport. The stars pulsed—a cosmic heartbeat. And as the ship hurtled toward the next anomaly, Pierce vowed to learn, to explore, and to keep her secrets—like a captain’s log encrypted in her soul.

Lieutenant Commander Alana Pierce was a time-displaced individual. Originally a male officer from the 23rd century, Pierce served on multiple starships before a temporal distortion catapulted her into the late 24th century. After arriving in this new era, she endured a transporter pattern buffer accident, forcing her to adapt to her new life and time. Rear Admiral Anderson assigned her to the USS Theurgy, where she joined the battle against the parasitically infested Starfleet Command and quickly rose to the position of Chief Intelligence Officer.

Biography

James Alan Pierce was born in 2254 in New Haven, Earth. Growing up, he enjoyed all the advantages that the Federation and Earth had to offer. His curiosity led him to the stars, eager to uncover the hidden aspects of events unfolding around him.

In 2286, tragedy struck when Pierce accepted an undercover intelligence-gathering mission in Klingon space. His objective was to obtain samples of a rare form of bio-mimetic gel the Klingons were using for genetic experimentation. Additionally, he was tasked with hacking into their database to compile the plans and formulas for the compound and then destroy the database. The Klingon Empire, in their quest to surpass the Federation, employed enzymes from key plants on the surface of the Qu’Vat Colony—the same location where the Klingons had created the augment virus over a century ago. They aimed to succeed where others had failed by developing a new form of a Klingon mutagenic virus. Their plan involved combining the enzymes and bio-mimetic gel with Klingon and Gorn DNA to create the ultimate warrior.

Pierce managed to gather a few containers of the material before the Klingon and Gorn DNA was added. However, he was captured before he could complete his mission.

In 2380, Pierce’s shuttlecraft resurfaced in Federation space after being expelled from the temporal distortion. The small vessel was experiencing cascading systems failures and a potential warp core breach. Desperate, Pierce attempted to beam out to any nearby world, ship, or space station. Unfortunately, a bulkhead rupture knocked him unconscious, and his precious cargo was compromised, spraying him with bio-mimetic gel enzyme chemicals as he lay sprawled on the deck.

Due to a pattern buffer malfunction and the compound covering him, the bio-filters were off, and the enzyme mutated his chromosomes, leading to a change in his cellular structure mid-transport. Pierce found himself combined with the plant’s enzyme and bio-mimetic gel, forming a new individual. It was theorized that this transformation was possible because, during transport, Pierce’s DNA and proteins were in a state of molecular flux. If an enzyme causing symbiogenesis interacted with DNA while in the matter stream, their patterns might merge. Symbiogenesis is a rare reproductive process where organisms merge with a second species to create a hybrid. The bio-mimetic gel and enzymes reacted with Pierce’s microcellular state, combining their DNA. The enzyme contained elements found in many plants, including chloroplasts, lysosomal enzymes, and cytoplasmic proteins.

As a result, only one pattern, the combined one, rematerialized on Starbase 82. The biochemical analysis of a symbiogenetic plant from the colony contributed to this outcome. The combination was successful, and while Pierce’s chromosomal layout was entirely changed, it resulted in his body being inadvertently converted to a female version of himself due to the plant’s female chromosomes.

Pierce experienced no ill effects physically or mentally. Although his genetics were almost identical, his male body was lost forever, with no prior transporter pattern on file in the modern era of Starfleet databases. His personality and memories remained unchanged, and James decided to accept his fate, adopting the name Jessica Alana Pierce—going by Alana or Al for short.

Bodily Changes

Transporter Accident

Upon her awakening in the sickbay on Starbase 82, the Science Department conducted weeks of rigorous tests to determine the cause of the issue during transport. Despite their efforts, the medical staff was baffled, and it became apparent that Pierce would have to live as a woman for the rest of her life. As she began to regain her mobility and was reactivated for duty with a new profile in the Starfleet databanks, she expressed a strong desire to continue her career. She embarked on a journey of re-acclimation and reeducation to the 24th Century, bringing with her unique insights from the past century. Due to her unfamiliarity with current-century policies and technology, she was demoted to Lieutenant, with the mutual understanding that she would acclimate to the updated regulations and protocols sooner rather than later.

With her new appearance, Pierce was able to devise methods of infiltrating compounds that she had been unable to pursue as a male. During one particular data-gathering assignment, she discovered that the thalaron bombs were not isolated attacks but part of an orchestrated chess game, making each faction a pawn to eliminate one another. She concluded that this strategy would allow the infested an easier path to taking over the galaxy. Additionally, there were rumblings of a coup in the Klingon Empire aimed at overthrowing Chancellor Martok. Pierce transmitted the data up the chain to Admiral Anderson, including intel from Captain Ives about a bomb going off in the Spearhead Lounge on the USS Theurgy. She believed that these incidents, though seemingly unconnected, were part of a multi-front distraction to prevent each team from succeeding.

A New Chapter

Admiral Anderson, recognizing Pierce’s unique background and her craving for dangerous assignments, tasked her with uncovering the conspirators within the Klingon Empire who sought to overthrow Chancellor Martok, as well as identifying those responsible for the bombing on the Theurgy. Given the Theurgy’s shortage of available crew, Anderson believed that Pierce’s talents would be invaluable to the ship’s Intelligence Department in unraveling the intricate plots behind these acts of destruction.

Pierce was dispatched to Qo’nos aboard the Daqchov to rendezvous with the Theurgy, which had been attacked and left adrift near a star. An away team consisting of Lt. Izavid, Lt. Lance, and Lt. Veradin arrived at the Daqchov and successfully retrieved Pierce and the remaining Klingon officers. However, Pierce remained guarded and secretive, arousing suspicion among both the Klingons and the crew. She awaited her eventual arrival on the Theurgy with the intention of speaking with Captain Ives or her new Department Head before fully integrating into their mission.

Personality Profile

ALANA-PIERCE-01.png
ALANA-PIERCE-03.png

Pierce, the Intrepid Starfleet Intelligence Officer

Pierce, a seasoned Starfleet Intelligence officer, possessed a razor-sharp intellect and tactical acumen that rivaled even the most advanced starship sensors. Her mind was a finely tuned tricorder, swiftly analyzing complex situations and drawing conclusions with the precision of a photon torpedo trajectory. This uncanny ability occasionally fueled a touch of arrogance—a trait she wore like a captain’s insignia on her uniform.

Pierce: The Sultry Espionage Operative In the quantum flux of temporal anomalies, Pierce emerged—a living paradox.

Commander Pierce: A Starship Sage Commander Pierce—a paradox in a uniform, she possessed the skills to command a starship, yet chose to walk the path of the wise.
