First Flight: An Anthology of Warp Discovery and First Contact

I've had this idea for a while and was going to write my own little story talking about the discovery of warp from the perspective of another species as I always found it so strange that in Star Trek, particularly post First Contact, that Zefram Cochrane was elevated to the status as practically the inventor of ALL warp travel. While of course this is easily explained away by the fact that Star Trek is generally from the perspective of humanity and Earth is the seat of the Federation and is heavily dominated by human influence, but I do think that there are plenty of other Zefram Cochranes out there in this universe and each species or culture holds them in just as high if not higher regard. It doesn't even have to be the work of one person or brilliant visionary but perhaps a similar vain to the Apollo Program or the Manhattan Project, brilliant minds working as a team to progress the next step of scientific understanding.

So in this thread I would like to explore in an anthology kind of way the invention of warp travel or the first flight or the fallout or the first contact from the perspectives of various species. It could be through the view of a character, a historical summation, a diary entry, perhaps even one of your Theurgy characters summarizing it as part of a research paper at The Academy, and so on, the best way that you as the writer can think of telling the story of the first steps a civilization took to reach the stars!

Below is the format that I think should be at the top of each post to help identify the species that the story is being attributed to and a title just in case you want to write more than one part of your story.
