Best,
Auctor Lucan
Shall could be a tempting target for the Morali worshippers, he's certainly a blasphemer by their standards, and as a "half-cripple" he would look like an easy target, someone that could be made an example out of.
What makes shall blasphemous? Did I miss him badmouthing Sarresh? (Not that Sarresh cares )
Regaeding the cult. They might call themselves The Devoted of Morali instead of cult. Or The chosen perhaps. That sounds familiar tho.
As for morali himself he wants to get his head together before dealing with this shit haha. Not.sure how much of that he'll get. Plus he has ppl that he actually wants to ceck up on
Thoughts for the above stuff:
- I could easily see Derik getting into a fight with one of these Devoted. Either from protecting someone from the Resolve or even by being a target himself. So I offer that up if anyone wants to join in on that.
- Derik is probably going to be very uncomfortable not being armed at first, but wouldn't actively fight it. Though, if he or someone he cared about got messed up enough by a Devoted, that could spark a more intense resistance for the Resolve crew wanting to remain armed. That might be an interesting way to have those threads intersect.
- I'm having a brain-fart on the virus. That might have been a thing that happened right before I joined and got lost in my trying to speed read the first part of Episode 4. Anyone that remembers mind sharing a cliff-notes version?
- Derik will need to meet likely with Trent or Ives or whoever will inform him of his assignment as acting chief conn officer.
- Derik was on the bridge for some of what happened, and he and Sera saw a lot of it through the video feed to the conference room, they can take part in people wanting to question them about what happened, either officially or unofficially.
Other ideas springing to mind:
- A thread where the Resolve crew have a 'to absent friends' moment either in a lounge or private room where they share stories about their departed friends and Captain and toast to their memories.
- Sera gets into an argument with someone in the hangar bay where Sabine is being kept. Perhaps she doesn't like where they want her to park it. She wants to sleep there for now because it's where she's comfortable, etc. There are any number of fun reasons for her temper to flare up I'm sure.
These are some of my first pass thoughts. If anyone has an idea they want Derik or Sera for, feel free to PM me. I'm down for almost anything really.
Good ideas all around.
"The Devoted (for short) of Morali" is awesome, let's go with that then. :)
I will be compiling a list in the top post when I have the time, but keep the ideas flowing.
Havenborn, the virus was your idea, what's your take on that?
Best,
Auctor Lucan
So essentially the virus is supposed to be a non-life threatening viral agent. Effects include, distorted vision, numbness, swelling of hands or feet, extreme cases have swelling of limbs. On it's own it's not bad just an annoyance, and it may not affect everyone in the same way. So the Resolve crew are all inoculated against it since they encountered it on their three-year journey home (plus Drauc and Parnak who got it thanks to Tancredi's quick thinking) with the CMO devising a cure for it and had distributed it amongst the crew.
Daniel knows a little about the virus and the cure because he dated the scientist who had become an expert on it but he doesn't really understand the science of it (he barely passed the science classes in the academy). So he could only really help out a small amount, I also assumed that the expert scientist didn't make it off the Resolve before it was destroyed.
Not yet, and it may not be that far quite yet. I'm thinking along the lines of Shall getting approached by the Disciples about supporting Morali to be the new science chief (or some other lofty position), and Shall just wouldn't care. The blasphemy charge could stem from the old favorite "I don't have anything on you so I'll just toss this catch-all term that's impossible to prove onto you and let the others do my dirty work."
Depending on when this starts happening it could also have some shades of epidemic panic. His semi-reclusive nature would make Shall one of the last to get the plague.
Right, so,
- I know that Martin has a backup of files that the science department made during the Resolve's journey, I don't know if absolutely everything was stored on that but there could be some clues regarding the cure for the virus at the very least (I think I mentioned that she has this in her first post?).
- I can also see Martin becoming a target for the Devoted, given that she is an outsider who essentially usurped the position of science chief. That might be something that her and Morali would want to address at some point, maybe a little bit later along the line.
- Speaking of Martin winding up as the new science chief, there's probably going to be a meeting about that at some point I assume, until then she's probably going to operate under the assumption of being a temporary resident aboard the Theurgy, probably take part in that 'to absent friends' thing that Mathis mentioned.
- I'd imagine Martin would have no trouble being unarmed, she doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would walk around with weaponry.
- F'Rell's probably going to be pretty reclusive during this time, but if anyone wants to harass the resident balloon worm, by all means feel free to do so. It might require security clearance for the first day at least because I know she's going to want to be monitoring what she did with the deflector controls.
- Lastly, Martin bore witness to the events on the bridge, through the video feed as well as rushing out to try to mitigate some of the damage (and being too late). She can probably serve to answer a few questions about that if people have them? I'd imagine that goes for most of the Resolve senior staff as well.
If anyone wants either of them feel free to PM me.
Ha ideas! Plenty of ideas!
- First of I'm thinking Amelya Rez will be the prime target for the Devoted/Morali Cult. Considering she now houses the essence of Jona Rez I'm pretty sure she'll need extra security if not body armor to do her job with all these nutters running around.
- On the science front I'm thinking Tovarek should have a meeting with Vivian to discuss the future of the science department. Essentially looking how they'll work together and what to do with ranks and titles. Perhaps they start off with a one on one conversation before he shows her around the department and introduces her to the people working on Theurgy already? Before implementing the rest of the science team from Resolve? We could also work with a total rehaul of the science department, having each and every member over for a personal talk with the two ranking officers to see where their future lies on the science deck?
- Bootcamp idea that Goldeneye had in the previous chapter might be followed up by the new SCO. Especially with three squadrons turning into one, it might be interesting to have a group activity or bonding session to bring everyone closer once more. Plus what else brings people closer than a hard rugged boot camp. Holo decks would do fine I imagine? But I'll take any help I can take on this.
I'll probably have more ideas come to mind in the next few days so I'll post more when able!
Speaking selfishly, my hope for Deacon in the short term is to reconnect with his human half. Not sure what level of access
Theurgy still retains to Federation archives but it's my hope for some of his father's keepsakes and logs to find their way to him. Following that, he's going to have much of what was done to him as a child undone if one of the doctors is so willing; he's more or less abandoned his life among the kzinti to return to the Federation -- such as it is -- and with that comes accepting his true form (sneak peak 1 (http://blog.steelphoenix.com/wp-content/gallery/miscellaneous/deacon_hybrid2.png) and sneak peak 2 (http://blog.steelphoenix.com/wp-content/gallery/miscellaneous/rene_hybrid_theurgy2.png)).
And since he's sort of claimed Below Decks as his territory, if anyone wants to come down and chew his ear off, here's some potential hooks:
- He is technically a novice priest and a bit of an unlicensed counselor
- He really is a good cook; just hard to tell when the replicator does all the work; hopefully we can get a Neelix-style galley set up at some point :)
- He's the convenient representative of a hostile species that, literally, likes to eat other sentients
- He's the convenient representative of a hostile species that takes misogyny to levels that would make Ferrengi jealous
And if there's anything else any of you feel he could contribute to, please let me know :)
Upon further consideration - Sarresh really, really doesn't have time to deal with this cult crap. He just wants to wallow, check up on Sel, and maybe figure out what, if anything, he can do about that tiny little time aberration that flared up (not a damn thing). I imagine he's going to be cranky around the science department conference table ;)
As for Natalie....she may very well end up down in the bellow decks. Not sure she's feeling the spearhead lounge again, but maybe she'll surprise me. Either way - she got to watch yet another pilot bite the dust right in front of her face. That's gonna leave some scars. She's going to probably bury herself in her work again - overseeing repairs when she needs to pitch in and help, spending too much time looking over her peopels shoulders (like the deck hands maybe) and trying to find something to do to just make her...forget.
This being after they get into the nebula, of course. Till then she's gonna be busy on the bridge, possibly holding down the fort as needed for a shift or three.
TL;DR -> no set plans for Natalie, if folks can think of something interesting, an reason to interact, I'd be happy to brainstorm :)
Since we're tossing out ideas, here are my plans for my ladies.
Jaya Thorne has an immediate date with sickbay to get the gash on her head looked at, and Sithick's arm of course. Depending on how long that takes will determine if her next agenda happens before or after the briefing. Either way, the next item on her to-do list is to find all the people who directly aided her in some way during the battle and thank them. With a drink. ..And she's not opposed to taking things further ;)
At some point, Jaya will have a sit down with Derik and with Covington, likely separately, to discuss the various paths her future can take. She will have to decide: stay an enlisted man for her career or test into ensign. She will also be looking to make new friends and lovers. Be warned, she doesn't believe in monogamy, so any flings with Jaya are generally one night stands or friends with benefits situations.
I was hoping Jaya could also have a minor heart-to-heart with her beloved CO, Jennifer Dewitt, but with all the chaos about to happen, I think Dewitt will be a little too busy for that. So she may seek out someone else to chat with about all the shit that just went down (granted, she doesn't know about the wrong message being sent yet).
As for Alessia, she has just been handed some terrible news and some good news. Once she has a room assignment and whatnot, she'll be spending a lot of her off-hours time in the holodeck venting her frustrations with adrenaline. She'll also want to speak privately with Thomas Ravon. She doesn't currently trust herself to be around alcohol since slipping off the wagon is so easy in her times of grief. I expect her to stick pretty close to her fellow Orcus pilots, since Thomas Ravon is now the sole person on the Theurgy that she knows. She is generally friendly and outgoing though, so if you try to befriend her it will likely happen.
She currently has no plans before or after the briefing, though I'd love to create some.
If you have an idea for a scene that you'd like to do with me, let me know. We can discuss via PM or Skype.
I have thoughts on the matter:
Resolve Crew:
My new character, Ensign (Security) Jimmy Mariner managed to rescue several crew members' datarods from the Resolve as she was burning before he and the onboard crew were beamed to safety. This included his Pet Pit Bull, Sharky, who was a puppy when the Resolve first got lost, and over time became the ship's unofficial mascot (a la Porthos to NX-01); much like the dog in any given Roland Emmerich movie, Sharky lept to someone's arms and was beamed to safety just in time (I'll get a pic of him soon; he's trained to the extent of a K9 unit police dog, opening the door for alien in-jokes-- I hope there aren't any Tellarites aboard, haha. )
Some of the datarods contained personal logs, mementos, transporter buffer keepsakes, , things that could be restored from a replicator or transporter buffer. Nothing big or important, but clearly sentimental, such as Marquez's taco* and synthale formulas or individual officers' personal blueprints, holodeck novels/simulators, pet projects, etc. I figured the Resolve's recipes would be of interest to Deacon, since there are some things that can't be synthesized, others have to be homecooked. Anyone who's ever had/ authentic tacos/burritos would agree.
I had an idea that on the outskirts of Romulan space, we came across a Reman colony who were fleeing the fallout from Shinzon's rebellion, and wanted nothing to do with Slamek or Obisek's efforts at reconciliation. In "Tales of the Dominion War", Shinzon's rise to power began when he retook a Tal Shiar base from the Jem'Hadar and discovered a King's Ransom of technology: Thalaron, B4, Plans for the Scimitar, and I got an idea [hypothetical] The Triphasic holo-emitters from the ENT: Babel/Aenar trilogy; minus the Drone Ships, though perhaps certain Remans could use their telepathy for short-range control-- perhaps. These Remans used this and other technology to hide themselves and their vessels from the Tal Shiar, and when Resolve stumbled upon them, shots were fired. Realizing we were about to pass into Romulan Space, Marquez suggested a parley: We'd swap replicators and food for some of these emitters which would make life possible for us in the event we'd have to camouflage or otherwise play cat and mouse with the RSE without the telltale forensics of phaser fire. This died with the Resolve, but our understanding of the technology remains; we likely camouflage-disguised ourselves to maintain a low profile for the final third of our journey. [/hypothetical]
Marquez, wary of infiltrators after his fight with Hawthorne, in particular (And in 'Vietnam Flashback' mode to the Founders' saboteur tactics) would be very unwilling to disarm his crew. He was in a position of authority to oversee and draft "Buddy-System Protocol" on his old posting during the Dominion War and later occasionally in Romulan Space, and now on our new vessel: (No one walks corridors alone, citing DS9: The Adversary; after reading Capt Sisko's report and hearing of other incidents like it, it was a tactic born out of a reasonable extent of paranoia, like the Cole Protocol from the Halo universe). It was only ever used when infiltrators or saboteurs were afoot or suspected to be: Anyone caught alone was to be treated as a suspect without hesitation, hence the crew being armed with at least a token stun phaser. Now aboard Theurgy, Striker Marquez is a particularly slow-to-trust L-Comm and takes responsibility for the lives of his crew quite personally. He'd be willing to compromise warily with Ives but won't take any chances. He'd eventually fall in line with Ives, but initially,
Marquez to Jien (for certain Resolve crew keeping sidearms):
"Look, Captain, I'm as straight a shooter as you're going to deal with, so let's not mince words. It's not that I mistrust you, Captain, It's just that I don't trust you. Not yet. But, I -will- meet you half way if you return the favor: My crew keep their weapons. Perma-fixxed to stun if needed, but no one in my crew, I repeat, no one, goes unescorted on your ship. They won't be anyplace they're not supposed to be; I can safely and solemnly swear: I'll take full responsibility for their actions, better or for worse. You help and trust us, and I swear on the names of those we lost, we'll return the favor. You saved our lives, and we owe you, but we're not going to be scapegoats or hostages, not to you, not to Sankolov. not anyone, -period-. I know we're clear on that. I know you're concerned we might mutiny: but look at me--square in the eye: I did not watch my ship and crew burn only to squabble our best bet at vindication or a ticket home: You are our best hope at returning there with clean names and truthful assurances. My crew keep their weapons, in case there's another Ian Hawthorne-- or worse-- aboard. If there is one, well, Sharky is trained to know the difference between 'Good alien' and, well, the other kind. But never mind the dog, beware of the owner, like we say on Earth."
To Absent Friends:
Marquez was saving a 400+ Year old bottle of Tequila that was saved for our return to Earth. Mariner saved it along with the remains of USS Resolve's Plaque and crewmates (both living and otherwise)'s personal files, logs, mementos, keepsakes, pet projects, replicator food menus, etc.
We'll have a somber round of "Remember that time..." 's.
Ex:
"Remember the time Jimmy pulled the old shaving-cream-in-the-hand, feather-to-the-nose trick on Kendrick? Skipper canned happy hour for a week, but the look on his face was worth it."
It'll be here and now that Marquez issues orders to watch eachothers' backs at all times, never venturing alone without a designated 'buddy'. The Orcus crew are welcome to join us at the Ten Forward or Mess Hall, but standing orders are to be careful with anyone you don't know personally. (I'm positive Jimmy Mariner would wisecrack about watching Martin's back/spinal implant IC (Aussie accent): "Or whatever ya call that thing."). Resolve would be a tight-knit crew at this point in our history and healthily distrustful of, aforementioned strangers outside of ex-crewmates.
Bootcamp:
This would be the first way to possibly extend an olive branch of intended trust: Joint exercises to be participated with and measured by anyone of any seniority. ENT: Harbinger, Major Hayes' joint training sessions comes to mind in the holodeck. Orcus, Theurgy, Resolve working together, or meeting for the first/initial time post-briefing.
"I love it! I love bringing people together!" -- Bad guy, good quote. Don't you just hate it when that happens?
https://youtu.be/zLTEIaOO8Yo?t=118
*Chortle*
The "Absent Friends" plot sounds like a good one to me, I'm all for that. Maybe while the Resolve characters are in there the virus could be spreading its way throughout the ship and symptoms begin shortly afterwards.
Top post updated with what we have so far! Read up, comment, and post what you want added here!
With regards to senior officer appointments, I'd like to have Trent handle the new CTO and Intelligence officer appointments. I think some fun could be had with that.
And just a quick note regarding Marquez' comment about "his" crew: a certain XO with a voice that is almost always a near-whisper would remind Marquez in no uncertain terms he isn't their first officer anymore, and that by accepting what Ives had to say, they are part of Theurgy's crew now, no longer Resolve. And if he thinks it's a good idea to dictate terms to Captain Ives, he's got something else coming. That XO might even raise his voice to "just above conversational levels", too.
*chuckles* Indeed, Marquez needs to get off his high horse and play it smart, or he'll fall off it. I know it was a joke, so no worries, but if he would say something like that to Ives, he would not be appointed as CTO.
Have in mind the development listed at the top:
- The Resolve's Senior Staff will kindly be asked to hand over their weapons in the Conference Lounge before the 1900 hrs. briefing in the Fighter Assault Bay. Senior Staff who refuse gets unarmed anyway, Wenn Cinn, ThanIda zh'Wann & Ryuan Sel may be summoned to Conference Lounge. (Loose Ends thread)
- When the Resolve and Orcus crews are beamed into the Fighter Assault Bay, all their weapons are filtered into the buffers (Nebula Entry thread)
- Marquez brought from Sickbay to FAB, has belatedly requested to Ives en route to have the Resolve crew keep their armament, but was rejected on all points. Policy already implemented and everyone has been unarmed. In the Fighter Assault Bay Marquez tells the crew Captain Kendrick is dead. (Striker N7 posts in Nebula Entry)
So, in your post in Nebula Entry, Striker, you may write how Marquez
tried to oppose his crew being unarmed before he get to the Fighter Assault Bay (perhaps with a smarter approach), but with him having been in surgery, it would be too late for that already. His crew is already bereft of armament. That being said, see the next point in that list:
- Later, after the briefing, Marquez issues unofficial orders to watch each others' backs at all times. Resolve would be a tight-knit crew at this point
So, Marquez might try something behind the scenes, fine, but openly trying to dictate terms is a sure way to get on waste management or latrine duty. ;)
Best,
Auctor Lucan
So with my characters I've been a little lost in the planning phase with two out of three.
Nathan is pretty well taken care of at this point, he's already a big part in the interogation of doctor Maya, getting his pilot wings back, and rejoining the new lone wolves so he has a pretty big day ahead of him in all honesty.
Still I would like him to have a sit down with Wenn after he is offered the transfer back. His attitude during their last mission was unnacceptable and I do not want Nathan to be able to skirt punishment just because he is a pilot again.
~~
Sithick i'd like to embroil in the two factions that are planning their mutiny. It seems to me that either side would probably want the Scary Murder Lizard on their team, and he himself is already torn between two sides.
- I'd like it if someone was to actively try and recruit Sithick to either side. Trying to pull him both towards his duty to the Federation as a whole and his moral values that the mission will compromise.
- Sithick has a current need for medical attention with how his arm has been burnt.
- In the description of the Gorn home world I said that most Gorn are immune to diseases because they come from a swamp world, which is just rife with all kinds of nasty bacteria. I'm wondering if he could assist the research on a cure by having to give some of his blood to help build antibodies. Aside from that I don't see this affecting him much.
~~
Jack is my favorite character to write, but also currently the one that I am having the most problems setting up with a few threads. With all the emphasis on the resolve's crew I'm not really sure where the two survivors from Starbase 84 actually stand on anything.
I really want a meeting of the science department so that Jack can meet new people.
Right now aside from Sera he knows no one, and considering Sera has a ship, it's kind of hard to justify him sticking around when things are going tits up. Especially because I don't think the evidence that will be presented will be enough to sway Jack to the opinion that these parasites actually exist.
He's also not part of the senior staff so he doesn't really get to play into any of the other up and coming meetings, so the character that is supposed to be my main and most used currently is just sitting with his thumbs up his butt which is very frustrating to me.
I'm kind of considering putting him in as one of the people hit by the virus, we could even have it where because he is a half breed the virus hits him even harder than others, and make the non life threatening virus a little more serious... viral mutation anyone?
Seriously i'm up for anything with this character, please just PM me or hit me up on skype or even discord if you have ideas cause I got nothing at the moment and it's driving me crazy.
Still I would like him to have a sit down with Wenn after he is offered the transfer back. His attitude during their last mission was unnacceptable and I do not want Nathan to be able to skirt punishment just because he is a pilot again.
Oh believe me Kaligos, I wasn't going to let Isley just mosey out of security without saying goodbye to the big man. I'll hit you up with the start when it's time appropriate.
Now, as for my characters. There's a few thread ideas I have, but I'm always up for more ideas. Let me know if you have any thread ideas or wish to interact.
Ejek
- A meeting with O'Connor to talk about new dutes and structure of the counselling department is something I'd love (and I think it's already on the main list)
- 1st Counselling session with Ravon. The (soon to be) new SCO would probably need some counselling following the events surrounding his crash, repair, rescue and thrust into command.
- Continuation of Counselling with Marquez. With the Resolve stuck in Romulan space over the last three years, Marquez and Ejek would have had regular sessions to help the XO. There should be reason for this to stop now they are both on Theurgy
- Anything anyone else would like to do
Wenn Cinn
- Interrogation of Maya
- I'd like him to meet with Ravon before Isley's transfer back to TacConn
- Isley's transfer and goodbye from security
- Dealing with the loss of Edena
- I'd like Cinn to check with in most of the security staff during the the interregnum. Thus, I'd like either a singular or seperate posts with Ryuan and Dyan
- Something between Selena and Cinn following the mission together
- Anything anyone else would like to do
Parnak
- The meeting with Ives
- Krystal threatened to come after Parnak if he called her princess another time (which he dutifully did!) I'd love another interaction(/Altercation?) with her if Triage is up for it
- Anything anyone else would like to do
As you can tell some characters have more plans/ideas than others. If there is something you'd like to do, please don't hesitate to get in contact with me! :)
Thinking on the virus, it sounds like it might be cardio-vascular in nature, which likely means that Deacon would hold a great deal of resistance to it, but with his recent exposure to a whole new crew full of new all new illnesses and he's from a relatively isolated species, I expect it to finally affect him and affect him hard, especially if the "Fallen Friends" situation takes place in Below Decks. This would be a good opportunity for Dr. Nicander or whomever is covering in sickbay to discover his genetic tampering -- I suspect all that genetic tampering would, in fact, make it worse for him (not that it would be incurable, but we're talking probably weeks of confinement to sickbay as his immune system compensates for everything). By undoing all of that, it might help bolster his immune system. That would also be a good time for someone to look up his parentage in order to find the appropriate genetic mapping for him to undo the damage; and that might lead to his parent's few remaining personal effects.
As for the mutiny.... well, even if Deacon isn't in chain of command, if you want a big murder lizard on your team, you probably want a big murder kitty too. But Deacon has no interest in monkey politics, and he'd probably find the thought of a covert coup distasteful.
I should add that both Alessia and Jaya can and will likely contract the virus.
And should the meeting with Ravon go as planned, Alessia will also be meeting the rest of his pack. It is likely that a holodeck invitation will spring from that. Prior to that meeting, she will be seen mostly with her Orcus pilots when in public.
Also, while not thrilled about being unarmed, both Jaya and Alessia have no real reason to protest much. They would prefer a phaser on stun, but such is the life of a non-security person on a starship. Plus, neither of them expect any danger on the Theurgy, and I would think they are used to NOT carrying weapons aboard their respective ships or starbases. Officer Sunshine just better be ready in case something does happen. (laugh)
"His Crew" = "his" associates, friends, comrades, colleagues, his responsibility. As opposed to "his" Subordinates, his followers, his loyalists? Please, don't get me wrong. High Horse is not what we call attack dog. I have no particular ambitions aside from being there for the Resolvies. Just to be clear.
Don't get me wrong, CV, Marquez is
nobody's sycophant and he's letting Ives know that Trust isn't just given, not with snakes in the garden (parasites among Starfleet, possibly aboard.) He's taking the
Resolve survivors under his protection the way Aragorn took the Fellowship under his responsibility--condition that parallel for the record; Spokesperson, advocate, if anything. That's the metaphor I'm out for. No mission, No
Resolve, just her crew, ergo her memory/legacy and the will to survive. I'd like that on the record; they're his responsibility and he'd put his life on the line for them without question. That's why I'd like to have the meet n greet forum underway. There will be some initial tension, but once Marquez gets a formal role/title, things will go along smoothly, possibly even almost immediately after the first meeting. (TOS: Balance of Terror: Stiles and Spock grade initial lack of trust, by the end, appreciation and Star Trek patented catharsis.)
Ives & XO :
Your advice is taken to heart. In the same spirit, don't plan on me being treacherous or treasonous.
I'm an attack dog, not a cavalryman. I growl but I play ball with whoever's in charge and I certainly will not, under any circumstances bite the hand that feeds me or my ---pardon, or
the---
Resolve pack; besides, there is lingering bitterness over SB84 to be cured soon by Ejek (Eyes only, Counselor: )
She'd have sessions with him in the Cardassian Sauna program she introduced him to; overclocking the gym and simulators only fostered more latent rage.
It is true, I mentioned to Arista that Marquez has severe acute homesickness that attributes to his... well, acerbic attitude (He doesn't use holodecks that show outdoors Earth, except for his WW2/WW3 simulators where everything is war-torn). He's due for the "you gotta be strong" speech, not the you've gotta be wary speech, something or other:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBpeYD1gneY
Sidearms:
Anyone who tries to sneak* a sidearm after the order to turn them in gets their asses handed to them by yours truly. To Ives, I would make a firm argument, lose it but (set up ^ Stiles-vs-Spock) accept your command, and pledge
Resolve's crew to yours, as you'd expect.
Yes, we'd faithfully come around but I initially have to play the wary role, at least IC I do. It would be out of character for him to roll over and pledge his loyalty to the founders, so to speak.
Marquez IC: No Arms locker raids. Period.
"I argued to keep our weapons, but we're playing by their rules now. We are now under the command of Captain Jien Ives for all intents and purposes. All sidearms are to be peace-bonded and checked in. No exceptions.
[example]*You too, Jimmy." *Pats down his friend's uniform, knapsack and finds a few phaser components and hands them in.* "Nice try. You're confined to quarters. I want these people to trust us. No whining, Mister, now give Sharky a bath. If anyone else has anything else they want to sneak through, now's the time to come clean, or clean the dog; we all know he hates bathtime." [/example]
If there's anyone you should be worried about, CV, it's my comic relief character, Jimmy Mariner: Imagine him eventually sneaking into a cockpit and childishly playing with it, whooping terms like "Yeee-haw! Fox Three! Yippee-kai-yai.... Oh, Heya, Chief, I was just, I was just... I was just uh,.... Okay, okay, I'll leave, but you gotta call me 'Sir.' *Short-lived smug regard*
You'd drag him out by his ear, give him the ole Neeson scolding, "Get the hell outta my bay.... 'Sir!' (insert threat here; "Merridadoc Brandybuck... and Peregine Took. I might have known." for reference.)
You're right about Jimmy not knowing the full extent of the contents of his knapsack. Initially keeping an eye on Marquez, he'd try to make himself useful while the XO--former XO, now that we've established that, CV. He'd be annoying Duv to no end until Martin shows up. "Ah, Ma'am, damn good to see someone with a real spine around here. Gotcha these. Might come in useful." A quick chat with Marquez would get him on his feet soon enough to meet in the FAB.
Mariner would probably be protective of Martin and there at her side for the Cult of Morali crisis, a chance to show he's more than just a trash-talking cowboy. Marquez, a former Pilot and Tac-Conn before being full Tactical, would be a participant in the Bootcamp. Part of his WW2 Simulator included "Battle of Britain" and "Battle of the Pacific" missions. Havenborn will be aware of this, and routinely flew lead during our voyage. We of course flew simulations of the real deal, obviously,
[example]Upon not having his named sidearms, he would ham-handedly try to get them back, or at least try to, but Ida would be five steps ahead of him. "Do you always walk your canine near the armory" 'Yeah. You don't? We window shop for something to fasten to his harness. You think you could see about a SAFTI with custom specifications---' "Your bullshit doesn't phase me, Ensign. Back to your post, or should I contact LtCommander Marquez?" 'Chill, Leftenant, I'll go. And just call him Striker.'
"Marquez to ThanIda: I saw that. Thank you. Good kid, bad idea." [/theoretical example]
Plot listing updated again with new entries! Let me know if I should add or change anything more. :)
Oh, just a comment that will clarify, in regard to Marquez feelings about the Resolve crew. I want to make the comment for the benefit of all the Resolve character writers:
"I'd like that on the record; they're his responsibility and he'd put his life on the line for them without question."
They are no longer Marquez responsibility at all, since Captain Ives is their new Commanding Officer. Of course Marquez might think so initially and privately, but strictly per chain-of-command, with Ives rank and position and with the Resolve's Starfleet crew aboard the Starfleet Theurgy ship, he is their Commanding Officer. That is, unless the Resolve crew thinks they are no longer a Starfleet crew, or they don't think the Theurgy is a Starfleet ship. I hope that makes sense, lol.
In short, simplified: If the Resolve crew recognises both themselves and the Theurgy to be part of Starfleet - which they should after the briefing, hopefully - then they should recognise the chain-of-command as it should be, with Captain Ives their Commanding Officer, and Commander Trent their Executive Officer.
Hope this doesn't just jumble things up more, but it's pretty straight-forward in my head at least... (which really is no guarantee towards anything, lol)
Best,
Auctor Lucan
It would be convenient for Maya to be familiar with a two hundred year old treatment for the virus that had been lost in the mists of time. That would get her out of the brig and restore her to duty.
Edited and updated my reply after our last skype chat, Lucan: Know that I was in step with that We're-all-Starfleet-Officers concept all along. Marquez is very by the book, but now blacklisted by Starfleet, he has no choice but to formally acknowledge Jien as his CO and is all aboard, per regs: Bent on revenge against the parasites, and valuing the lives and well being of the Resolve survivors.
However, his personal feelings to Theurgy and the fear/possibility of Parasites are twixt skeptical, paranoid and [over?]protective, so he'd still ... advise (not order) caution during 'Absent Friends': Watch eachother's back, don't get compromised, etc. It'll play out to a favorable outcome for all.
There is no question as to who is in charge or who the chain of command is, and there's nothing to worry about from Marquez. Wherever he's needed, wherever Theurgy Command wants him, consider it done. If it plays out to friction or contention, let it evolve.
I hope this helps set the record straight, there's no doubt Resolve's crew is tightly knit, and I'd like to think we're reasonably protective of eachother, armed or unarmed.
Trent, if there's any issue, feel free to PM or skype(preferred) me, I'm all for transparency and ironing out the wrinkles.
Lastly, I apologize for shorthanding my characters in first person on this thread; it's a habit I'm unwiring.
Best Regards,
--Striker N7
Back on SB84 Selena ran across the communications logs and downloaded what she could while she was plugged into the system. Now the question is just what did she find? Komial Dotnihl's love letters to Hawthorne? Desperate requests for a sewage purge on Deck 88? Reports of deck Grey 17 missing? Or maybe damning contacts between Hawthorne and other parasites further up the chain of command?
Knowing our luck though, Hawthorne predicted such a security breach and had a virus installed in the logs that will cripple any computer system they've been downloaded to after some time...
I'm just going to add this to the whole integration discussion: Marquez will be nowhere near being in the same chain of command as the bulk of the Resolve crew; it's not his job to discipline ANY of them that steps out of line unless they are in his department, and even then there are limits. If he inserts himself where he isn't supposed to be, he is going to see what Ives, Trent and Wenn look like when they are thoroughly unimpressed.
If he hears a member of the Resolve crew is trying to McGyvver a weapon or smuggle one, Marquez' place is not to punish them, but advise Security immediately.
Nor is he their union rep. Enlisted men will have section and department chiefs for that, and officers will have their department heads and Trent as the XO.
And since Resolve no longer exists, Marquez isn't her XO anymore, let alone acting captain since Kendrick got turned to plasma. If her logs were saved in the evacuation, then there's her legacy.
Reports of deck Grey 17 missing?
I just have to say thank you for the Babylon 5 reference... it made me happy. :)
My reply is up. Let's let the cards play out.
Union Rep, that's kind of catchy, however you meant it; I took no offense to Marquez's Robin Hood Complex. You have my skype. I'm on PST.
Let's the events play out, shall we?
I will be back to contribute to this later.
Today was too shitty of a day, and I'm barely thinking straight as it is.
Will give plans for Jovela & Minjae, as well as overall thoughts, hopefully soon though.
Sorry everyone.
My reply is up. Let's let the cards play out.

I don't know as but you guys, but I've always been a fan of letting the events unfold and playing things out in character. I find it builds character personality and makes the story seem more real, especially if said character accidentally creates an enemy and has to smooth things out over time. :) plus in-character conflict creates more writing opportunities.
Just my two cents, but I think this disagreement should go to the thread and be played out. We are a whole bunch of different characters from different walks of life and with different morals and values, so it makes perfect sense if some of us don't fully agree with another, even to the point of contention. It will add some spice to the story and possibly even become it's own plotline later on, depending how things go.
I found my notes,
So in the morning my post felt kind of incomplete and that is because I actually keep detailed notes about my characters, and what they are up too, goals and plot lines that i intend to continue, and today after work my first priority after walking the dog was to dig through these notes and find my plot points for all the characters i have.
Hi'Jak
- So I have this puzzlebox still? It was the only thing recovered from Sera's last investigation and I was told it's an important mguffin. I have ideas for it, but no real direction on what it is or how it can be used. Currently I have two prevailing head cannons.
1. It hosts a parasite inside of it. A lock box that has either one of the dead, giving us access to an autopsy, or a prisoner, a political enemy of the enemy. The weapon in this case could be related to the information gained with the use of such a double edged creature.
2. Asurain/Radiant, something to do with Cardemon's light abilities, perhaps an artificial version of her species abilities is held inside the box?
- Jack owes Krystal Tancredi a drink.
- I once played around with the idea that Jack is a spy, but not for the people you think. On the far reaches of Federation space, it can be so hard to keep the empire at home updated with the movements of the Romulans, especially since the Klingons have entered into a war against the Romulan Star Empire. If this is the case then it would open new possibility's as he leaks secure information about the Theurgy to enemy vessels. It also could earn them a few allies down the road.
- Hi'Jak's knowledge of time travel as it currently exists. I would love to have a sit down with Morali and just have the two talk about paradox's and time travel, probably while analyzing the portal that was created by Sonja Aecreth.
- In the current state of evidence between the videos with Sonja and the fighter, Jack is not completely sold on the existence of the parasites.
- If we do have an away mission where Sera goes to a planet within the nebula I would like to have Jack aboard as the science officer, filling the role of Ezra Dax, or Spock from the shows.
- Speaking of Sera, they are going to have a thread to hash out their relationship, and position on if they are staying with the ship. (Already underway)
- In the above where it meantions Martin getting attacked, I think Jack would be a pretty good 'hero' to have in that situation.
It could also make for a pretty good reason to have a target on his back. - So about that virus, I'm kind of playing around with the idea that Jack get's blinded either temporarily or permanently (until they can undergo a surgery at least) by the virus.
I knew I was too fast to write that post in the morning.
Sithick:
- Sithick was a weapons expert at black opal helping in not just the repairs of the station but also in the building and assembly of some of the weapons that were kept on the black opal it's self. As such I have plans to transfer him from general engineering too the flight deck where he can work as a weapons tech.
- I would also like to take up the occasional shift in general engineering because why not? I feel like officers usually fill multiple roles when they can.
- By the time emergency repairs are done Sithick will have been out of his humid atmosphere for more than 20 hours, which pretty much means that their is going to be a need for another visit to sickbay as he will have formed a rash by the start of the second day.
- I hope that I can have a thread with Esyel's nurse though I can't remember her name at the moment.
Again I have notes with Nathan, and I had notes with Kendrick as well, but both these characters have activities that will last them more than a few days.
Excellent posts in Nebula Entry! :) Great characterisation of both Marquez and Trent. So yeah, I think everyone are on the same page now so there is no need to discuss this integration issue further, it will just muddle the waters.
I will start updating the top post again in a bit, so you all can check it later today. With the amount of rows in the character-based section, I think I have to compartmentalise those in categories, like "Writers Wanted", "Pending" and "Due to Start". I might even play with colours to illustrate this, but I'll have to draw the line for my OCD somewhere, lol.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
I think we've flogged this particular dead horse into hamburger, so let's get to writing, shall we?
As for the list of ideas, who's to say that the list here has to be exhaustive? Some things might occur to some of us on the fly, no?
Alrighty. First thing's first. I'm going through this massive list and putting already suggested ideas under either Jovela and/or Minjae's name, depending on whom it applies best to.
Already Ideas for Jovela:
Resolve Virus Outbreak Arc:
- Outbreak foreshadowed during Day 01
- Sickbay already flooded with injured, and the epidemic is made apparent. Its nature at first unknown. Fear and panick ensues on Day 02. It is not immediately determined as a non-life threatening viral agent. Effects include, distorted vision, numbness, swelling of hands or feet, extreme cases have swelling of limbs. May have different symptoms depending on species. The Resolve crew are all inoculated during their voyage + Drauc & Parnak. (Wouldn't mind having Jovela be one of the few nurses able to help with this part)
General Character-Based Plotlines Arc:
-Jaya Thorne seeks new friends after her years on the Black Opal (Any Day)
-Alessia seeks distraction on the Holodeck (Any Day, writing with..?) [Although she knows Minjae already/personally, I'm offering Jovela in case she wants to have something more akin to 'girl talk' instead]
-The fate of Lin Kae is decided in Sickbay (Day 01)
-Wenn Cinn dealing with the loss of Edena (Writing partner needed)
Already Listed Ideas For Minjae:
Lone Wolves Squadron Formation Arc:
- Alessia & Minjae speaks privately with Thomas Ravon after briefing
- Sensor virtually non-functioning and wolves lost in the Nebula, relying on each other for survival and finding they way back
- Holodeck boot camp, group activity, bonding session
General Character-Based Plotlines Arc:
-Jaya Thorne seeks new friends after her years on the Black Opal (Any Day)
-Alessia seeks distraction on the Holodeck (Any Day, writing with..?)
Okay, so .... for my own ideas regarding Jovela and Minjae ... hmm.
I only have one, but it was a major thought, and it's for Jovela.
Poor woman's gonna be busy.
So, in case anyone may or may not noticed, there are a few things I included in her profile to hint what this twist was.
The lack of a surname was one. However, since I know that doesn't always mean anything, purposely hinting her father used to be a Starfleet officer was one. Eventually, even if not now, I do want to work on that with her. Trying to find out how he is, what side he's on, and so on -- be it with or without help [she'll probably try to hide what she's doing at first, simply due to shame and fear of losing her position if it's found out she's linked to a traitor. Very ironic, I know. :P].
I'm gonna let everything for Minjae fall into place for the time being.
I could have sworn I thought I saw Sithick in the midst of getting treated? But if he needs someone still, Jovela can help with that also.
Anyone who wants to figure something out with me about either character, feel free to PM/Skype me~
Vivian Martin becomes a target because the Devoted wants Morali for CSO. Martin is attacked on Day 02 after her position is announced. (Hastata-Nerada posts starter with Devoted attacking Martin. Who comes to her rescue?)
^
Jimmy Mariner's up for it. Whenever she's announced for the role of CSO, Mariner would be keeping an eye on her, loosely in step with Marquez's "Steady Nerves and Stout Hearts" ideology, either officially ordered/assigned by a
Theurgy officer, or on his own to get Sharky the dog's medication in the lab, any reason [or, more likely excuse, lol] to be at Vivian's side. It'd be here when he gives her the data rods-- or gets interrupted by the cult. I'm not sure how it'll play out, but Mariner is handy in a fight*. This mutiny might justify Marquez's latent fear about who one can trust, at least at first. I figure Mariner might be initially unarmed, but will improvise, probably even Sharky's first demonstration of his famous K9-unit disarm, phaser scatters, and Bob's-your-uncle, pyoo-pyoo... stun of course.
Also, Marquez and Alessia should meet whenever convenient or possibly in step with the first two days' schedule. Nolan/Duv said Marquez should be up and about soon, so long as he checks in every few days. I figure he'd want to keep the scars as a reminder, but otherwise make a recovery within the first day, well in time for the Nebula thread. Mariner may be a half-decent security guard, but a lousy bedside mannerist.
Looking forward to the Post-Nebula debrief to tie in time, locations, objectives and agendas into sequence. Looking forward to additional input.
*ATTN: Security Chief, Quartermaster:
*Jimmy has a Bajoran phaser pistol named 'Kira' after a Bajoran Colonel who turned him down flatly for a holosuite date. He favors the gun for the possible use as a brass-knuckle potential. It's currently in transporter buffer. Sometimes he has a back-up, but is good enough with just one. No fancy modification, no tampering outside of canon, just the classic garden-hose-nozzle of doom. :) Probably "Kira" stenciled along the side.
He acquired it from one of two methods: A joint training exercise on DS9 during a brief shore leave when the old USS Hornet was passing through, or from the Station Bartender:
He likely got it from Quark, who didn't realize the gun was just a shell/casing or inert... or might've just ripped off Jimmy for the latinum; or Mariner 'forgot' to turn it in during joint security training on the station with the Bajoran deputies in the holosuites. If so, Odo would've been, "Ensign..." *Jimmy hands it over just before he makes it to the Hornet's airlock.* "Oh, silly me... *Took scans anyway to DIY one later over the next few years." It can be explained IC. Jimmy got it to work over the course of the three years and swore by it. If, of course, it's possible. Or not
Top Post has been updated! (No layout change yet)
Here is a few random from me:
- Evelyn "Ghost" Rawley talks things through with Ravon late on Day 01 (before/after bashing Devoted)
- ThanIda zh'Wann bashes Devoted (Target wanted who starts the thread)[
- Drauc T'Laus bashes Devoted (Target wanted who starts the thread)
- Evelyn "Ghost" Rawley bashes Devoted (Target wanted who starts the thread)
- Rihen Neyah target for Devoted late Day 01 (Needs saviour)
- Liam Herrold target for Devoted late Day 01 (Needs saviour)
More may show up, but these are added for now. :)
Best,
Auctor Lucan
I can certainly say that if Ida or Drauc or both want to jump into Shall's little fray he wouldn't complain too much (unless those are intended for another thread)
Well, let's see if there are any other characters that are prone to be victims as well first? :) Seems to me Derik is already on the case in the started thread right?
Best Regards,
Auctor Lucan
He is, though he did make a call for security as well, but it's possible some NPCs can handle it if needed.
Ahoy,
Ok, so it looks like there are 3 basic plot ideas I want to bring to the table.
First and foremost will be Lahkesis's investigation into her "friend" Doctor Maya. I see a lot of potential for drama there and a lot of good character interaction as she tries to uncover some semblance of the truth.
Next comes her interactions with the primary 2 plot lines. Oth those first I'll tackled the virus outbreak. Being a Doctor this will mean that Lahkesis is heavily involved in at least some respects of it. Being plant based she is naturally immune to the majority of viruses that would attack a most mammal based life forms. This could be used as a way to help solve the problem, or it could simply mean that Lahkesis could walk about without an environmental suit or similar piece of technology. Honestly I think it would be very interesting if in her investigation into Maya, Lahkesis uncovers that Maya either has knowledge about a similar virus or perhaps had a very similar virus while in the past, thus a vaccine could be created from Maya's antibodies, or something quite similar.
As for the Cult plot line, I think it would be interesting if while investigating the jeffries tubes Maya access, leave no stone unturned kind of thing, she was attacked and required rescue. The cramped area would provide and interesting place for an action scene. Also it would mean that Lahkesis might think the Cult is in some way related. This would involve her in both plots and allow her own plot to be the main vein for her, something I would quite like.
Thoughts?
Good additions Absinthe! I will add them to the list asap.
A suggestion to you, if I may? Kaligos & Even Angels Cry have just come to Sickbay in the thread New Pack, and while Esyel offered Jovela has offered to be nurse, why not post in New Pack with Lahkesis Saugn as the doctor? You could write with Esyel, Even Angels Cry and Kaligos for a little while, Doctor Saugn taking a look at the two patients. The four of you can decide how and when you want to end the scene in that case?
Best,
Auctor Lucan
That sounds like an awesome idea
With it being four on two, Derik definitely wouldn't mind some backup. Whether that's security or just bystander who happens by before security can respond. :)
Sounds like a plan to me~
Aside from the portions that Husker and Keval are already either apart of or going to be apart of-if anyone needs any of my ragtag bunch of misfits-even Terror and/or Sniper-just let me know because I'm allowing some leeway for insanity.
Sorry, jumping in here a bit late. Is there some sort of rough timeline of when the Battle of SB84 takes place? If I'm understanding things correct, Day 01 of the Interegnum is effectively the same day as the Battle of SB84. Just threads only start after the battle?
Think the threads start post battle to anywhere else throughout that day. Washing away the memories for example is two hours post mission. While Last of the lone wolves is right after they make the jump.
Well with the matter of the virus plot line I could see a possible out being in the unusual nature of the Ovri, being an amphibian race they would not be effected the same, and perhaps have been exposed to something similar to the virus. It could be a possibility that they could be a source of antibodies if we need to have some deus ex machina solution.
With their close proximity to patients Vinata's patients could begin to show slight signs of recovery.
Considering her involvement with the eye operation Hylota might be seen as a loose end and seeing as there might be a misconception about what to expect from a mother who just gave birth Hylota would be more than capable of defending herself, not to mention the klingon nurse Maal who would no doubt be close at hand.
If there is still need for someone to defend Amelya Rez, Vinata could have this as a moment to confront his fears after the horror he suffered last time he played the hero in the CMO Office.
@Nolan: I'm trying to sort out a possible scheduling conflict that places a character in two places at the same time. Hoping to adjust the one thread before it's written so K'Ren isn't placed in Sickbay recovering from surgery approx 5hrs after she's standing on the deck with the rest of her shipmates watching Acreth.
Jumping in real quick here. Great catch, SummerDawn! Indeed, K'Ren would not be able to attend to the Nebula Entry briefing, nor the Strength in Unity one, since she is in surgery/recovery at the time. Liam Herrold will simply have to brief her instead when she wakes up at any time you think convenient that evening.
Indeed, for simplicity (me cutting some corners here) you can all have 1600 hours as a reference for when Thea goes to warp. Then, you can start Prologue threads set at any time between 1600 hrs. and 1900 hrs, where Chapter 01 begins, and continues through the end of Day 01. Day 02 is off limits right now, but will be opened up for story development when we have dealt with the Nebula Entry briefing.
Zenozine: Indeed, with the medical logs the Devoted would likely think Hylota responsible for the eye surgery on Morali, not liking her involvement in desecrating his body and twisting it into its current human form (just as much as they hate anyone involved in the Phoenix Project and Morali's fate).
Hope that makes sense! :)
Best,
Auctor Lucan
Cool. I'll get a thread started a bit later once things calm down.
Ok, so I posted my new thread. Lahkesis is on the ropes and the Devoted are gonna mess with her, she could use a hero. At this point it is open to anyone to come in and rescue her.
your hero is a giant space lizard.
For Resolve Virus Outbreak
I would like to volunteer Dyan for sickness, but her Velsren sac might actually fight the symptoms for her so she'd never get sick. If you like, the Theurgy could draw from her sac again, though whether or not she'll allow it to happen may depend on how her interactions immediately after her trauma go.
For the Devoted of Morali
Vivian Martin becomes a target because the Devoted wants Morali for CSO. Martin is attacked on Day 02 after her position is announced.
This will almost certainly elicit a response from Suq in some manner. I can't imagine Suq as the kind to pick a fight, but I'm sure he'd at least want to speak with Martin to find some solution, if he isn't one of the people to rush to her aid. Not sure if that's plot relevant, but it'd be a character interaction at least??
For Family Duty
Depending on Dyan's interactions after her trauma, she may either be a part of the mutiny or would fight against it. If she's a part of it, then maybe she could be assigned to guard the weaponry and then actually give it out to the mutineers instead?
For Resolve Disarmed
Suq won't give up his weapon without a fight and would probably outright lie about not having one if he could. I think I might've accidentally already written that he has his weapon in the hangar bay and he had it while speaking with Billy Bob before then, so maybe he's sneaking it around as contraband? I could also go back and edit these points out, but Suq feels his weapon is the only thing that gives him a little bit of control over the chaos that is reality right now.
It'd create an awful image of the Theurgy if they made a scene taking the little phaser from an already emotionally compromised Suq, and Suq's subsequent panic. Is that something that we'd want to do...?
For The Asurian Threat
I'm sorry, I don't know what Dyan will do! It depends a lot on the reactions of people around her. If there's a meta reason to swing one way or the other, I will though, but it might have to be pointed out to me. I'm not that clever of a writer lol
General Character scenes
I still think F'rell and Suq would be interesting to play out. Really, I'd love to play Suq with everyone, so if you're just looking for a general rp partner, Suq (and Dyan, if she stops being moody) are free for everyone to play with if you'd like, please shoot me a message!
I also think both my characters need counseling but neither would just walk into the counselor's office (except for Suq, who only really goes to Ejek for purely friendship purposes). They might need a little bit of prodding
Just one quick comment before I need to hit the sack. Early start tomorrow:

I think I wrote that the
Resolve's senior staff would be asked to hand over their weaponry at the end of the Conference Lounge meeting, and if they refuse, they would have taken the weapons anyway? Sorry, FollowTomorrow. In those posts you wrote Suq had a weapon on him, you have to edit that out. Sorry for the trouble, and its really on me since I should have been more clear on that. I thought it was by posting it at the top here. My bad! Hope you can make it work anyway, and that Doc M. won't have to edit his posts too, but it is super important.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
What about the rank and file? Are they unarmed as well by 1700? The folks waiting outside sickbay in that scene haven't been processed yet. It could be possible that they still have their phasers but won't by 1900.

Hey Lucan!! No problem, I'll be writing the weapon out of his posts and replace it with something else, maybe a modified hypospanner or something personal to him that could still act as his safety blanket until he trusts Theurgy better. Thank you!!
Not sure what I want Dev to do, since she will be wrestling with her own inner doubts and uncertainties. Perhaps becoming sick with the virus will force her to rely on her new ship mates?
Any feedback is certainly welcome, as I have no quite got a handle on Dev's integration with the crew.
Weapons
The rank and file new to the
Theurgy would - if they wore any - carry their weapons on their persons between 1600 hrs and 1900 hrs, but since they have yet to be given crew quarters at that time, leaving them somewhere on the ship would be unlikely. Also, they might want to be armed, right? So they would in all likelihood still have any weapons they carried on their persons. Since
Theurgy security officers are kind enough but still keeping tabs on the new crew up until 1900 hrs - but not removing the weapons from them - the chance for them to stow away weapons somewhere on the ship would have been nominal.
DevAs for Dev, a few ideas spring to mind. very bare-bone, and needs some further thought and details.
- Dev learns about the conspiracy where Ian Hawthorne sold classified Starfleet depot coordinates to the rebels in the Romulan Civil War, and that one of those Romulan operatives had been on Starbase 84 the same day as the battle occurred. She could learn the code name for the Romulan too, since it was heard in a transmission. The Romulan's codename was "Auroto", and Ian Hawthorne's was "Aidoann". Auroto translates from Romulan to Apparition/Ghost/Spectre/Phantom/Phantasm or something like that, and Aidoann simply means moon.
- Auroto could have some kind of affiliation to Dev's father, perhaps? She might recognise the codename, and thus learn that there is even Tal Shiar operatives working with Donatra's rebels. Knowing that there was a Romulan spy on the base, and reviewing the evidence and transmission that Hi'Jak (Kaligos) brought aboard, Dev would be able to verify that Captain Hawthorne was, indeed conspiring with the Romulans. His actions were indeed prone to instigate a war with the Federation once the current Praetor saw the rebels were armed with cutting-edge Starfleet tech.
- Also! The tactical logs from the Theurgy's previous battles will include the encounter with a Mogai-class Romulan warbird at the Black Opal. The Black Opal is one of said depots that Hawthorne 'sold' to Donatra. Perhaps she could speak with Jaya Thorne or Sithick (EAC or Kaligos, up for it?) who was stationed there when the Romulan warbird boarded the station, and Jaya Thorne or Sithick could tell Dev how the Theurgy crew repelled the boarders from the Black Opal and almost crippled the warbird. That might say something about the idea that the Theurgy crew are supposed to be Romulan traitors?
- Dev's father could also have some kind of affiliation with an ex-Tal Shiar agent named T'Mei. T'Mei is not her real name, the agent changing appearance to be a Vulcan when she defected to the Federation,, leaving behind two sons and an abusive husband. One of those sons were Drauc T'Laus, who also just came aboard the ship. After T'Mei defected, she had a new child, namely Nathaniel Isley, who just recently learned about his Romulan heritage (always having thought he was Vulcan).
- Considering all the above, I would suggest Isley (also written by Kaligos) ends up talking with Dev, and perhaps he approaches her with his new-found knowledge about his Romulan DNA? Isley, as one of the original Theurgy crew, would also be able to tell her about the Theurgy's voyage and affirm the veracity of their mission. The building blocks are all there, with Kaligos writing Isley, Hi'Jak and Sithick, all three whom could tie Dev closer to the Theurgy's cause! For sake of variation, you also have EAC's Jaya Thorne too.
Hope this brainstorming of mine has opened some doors! :) Kaligos, you up for it?
Best,
Auctor Lucan
Excellent suggestions! Jaya would be happy to chat up Dev. :)
Sithick, jack and Isley are all free for most of the afternoon on day one. Isley has an important meeting later at night, but any of them are available and I am always willing to rp more.
It occurs to me, following Deacon's genetic reversion on Day 2, any of Morali's supporters might see it as further crimes perpetrated by Dr. Nicander (or, if not him, others in his medical team, etc) as they likely wouldn't realize (or believe) Deacon's true ancestry or the medical necessity behind the reversion. I can almost see this leading to conspiracy theories about genetic purifications, making everyone more 'human', etc. I'd say in such a situation, the larger the tin foil hat, the more interesting the ride...
After all, after that, the most alien looking crew members will be the ovri, F'rell and Sithick, the latter of which will have been in sickbay quite a bit in recent days, especially if they're sampling his blood to help cure the virus.
Wonder how many will think that K'Ren's hybrid nature is a perversion of her Caitian ancestry? Deacon & K'Ren might have to hole up against the incursions of 'genetic purifiers'. :P
Honestly, I really want to see what will happen to the cultists deciding they can try to tune in the ship's token velociraptor...
Hahaha, I like how you guys are thinking... The Devoted become more and more interesting. I think the key is to not have them *too* stupid, very idealist, and actually thinking they are doing something right in persecuting the people behind the Phoenix Project (which made Morali into a human).
I have yet to update the top list, but I think we all have things in order, just some starters due.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
I had an idea where Tessa converts to the religion, going as far as to lead sermons and quote scripture. She would pass off the violent actions of the Devoted as "the actions of a fringe group of extremists that do not represent the religion as a whole," believing that the Morali religion is based on faith, not second guessing what Morali the Savior wants. To her credit, she would be mortified if she actually witnessed the actions of the Devoted but due to the stress of losing almost the whole squadron she's retreated into her own little world right now. Or not, this is just an idea.
Sample scripture:
"Let he who knows the future cast the first stone."
"And an officer of the Theurgy approached the Man From the Future, asking about the things to come; and He said 'Get out of My face; I need to hit the head," So remember my friends, when someone gets in the Savior's face, we should hit that person in the head."
"And a crewman of the Theurgy approached the Man From the Future, asking what He wanted us to do, He turned and said 'Act as you would if I wasn't here.' And so my friends, we are who we really are when we act as if no one is watching; the deeds we do in secret reveals our true identities. But always remember, that which we are going to do, He already remembers..."
If she's looking for religion, may I introduce her to our one true lord, The Fanged God? :) I mean, Deacon is a freaking priest. :D
Then again, the Fanged God isn't opposed to shaping the future, but knowing it? Naah, he's not keen on that. Victory when you know for certain you will win grants no honor. So I suppose this "Moralism" is almost the opposite... "Do not fear the future. You should embrace its uncertainty for its boundless potential of opportunities at personal greatness, glory, honor."
Lol those scriptures though! That's amazing!
Oh Lord, I hope I get everything right based on memory alone after that load of info. Typing from a phone by the way so pardon any type-o's I might miss.
Just a random thought and I apologize if this has been brought up already (though I swear I read everyone's reply) but would it be possible to draw samples from the Resolve crew to help accelerate the search for a cure?
And if Drauc and Parnak were recently innoculated maybe there's enough "fresh" samples from them?
@arista, totally up for Krystal meeting Parnak to make good on her promise to violate him...I may have said that the wrong way...or not...
Also, Heather McMillan is a biologist, so maybe she might want to help out extra hard regardless of the risks to her person as a form of penance for knowingly harming a person and breaking her pacifism. Also, @CanadianVet, your little Radiant is probably about to have a very bad day. ;)
Keeping in mind how physically frail as well as extremely susceptible all Radiants are to toxins and viruses, Heather will definitely get infected if she gets close to anyone else with the virus in them. And what is non-life-threatening for most can and usually is fatal to a Radiant so there's a chance she may have an adverse as well as an even more potent reaction to it, with the danger of a coma or death.
No pressure.
Krystal will be quite active and about on the ship wherever she's allowed and will happily join her old crewmates for drinks and reminiscing. She's also probably going to bond and befriend commanders and those in charge as a form of transference of attachments based on those lost from the Resolve. So anyone wanting an eccentric, vulgar, uncouth redhead that can outdrink most Klingons under the table as a friend/frenemy/human pet are welcome to PM me to arrange your character's coming to "Why did I ever talk to her?!?" Status with Meony (That's what she answers to).
You, Miss Triage, are a horrible, horrible human being. I love it! :P
Now there is a call Trent won't be able to make; save the little Radiant by throwing her in stasis, or keep her drugged up to her eyeballs and working on a cure while the disease is eating her alive...
But if time permits, I believe a certain XO would love to spend some time with a certain Radiant; he's got a fair bit on his chest, too.
I just wanted to offer my two cents in case there was still an opportunity to get Hayden involved in a few more threads. I don't want to step on any toes for events already in progress, but as I caught up on my reading, there were a few things that occurred to as potential hooks for Hayden.
Obviously, any character who could use therapy is welcome to come see Hayden. I know there are already a few therapy threads planned with the new assistant chief, but Lord knows, this crew certainly takes the cake for most traumatized. :-) Off the top of my head, I was thinking Cameron Henshaw might appreciate someone to talk to.
I think it would also be cool for Hayden to be an observer or even a participant in the interrogation of Maya. Given Hayden was so torn about clearing the doctor for duty given her tenuous mental state, I could see O'Connor being shocked and feeling more than a little guilty over recent events.
Arista, I'm looking forward to having our two characters finally interact. :-)
Also, just generally, I expect Hayden to be in the infirmary quite a bit taking care of the wounded and Hylota's recently delivered offspring.
I'm sure more ideas will be forthcoming, but for now I just wanted to offer a few ideas while they occurred to me.
I have one more reply to do, and that will be coming tomorrow after physical therapy.
Well, for Hayden, if you're creating a list of traumatized people needing counseling, you'll probably want to add Deacon in there somewhere. I suspect after his time in sickbay on day 2, some of his history will come to light with some aspects of his psychological profile likely needing to be sent to Hayden as a result (I've spelled it out in his wiki entry).
I'd have to think about if K'Ren or Ryuan need to run past counseling. They should, but we'll see if either voluntarily goes to see the counselor. (laugh)
It sounds like everyone and their mother needs counseling. If we wanted to, the counseling department could find it in their best interest to screen the officers for mental health problems?
I'm definitely game for that idea, Follow.
Actually, I thought for a long time about doing some threads of group counseling, since realistically, with that many people in need of counseling, it makes sense to offer common skills/support in groups. That would also provide an interesting opportunity for character development and interaction, but it might be hard to coordinate. I also wondered if people would be interested in doing something like that. Writers might be interested, but that doesn't necessarily mean their characters would be. :-)
Anyone up for something like that?
Sounds good, steelphoenix! I will check out the wiki as you suggest, but I would definitely love to get something going with you. I can PMU or feel free to do the same.
If you're suggesting your characters get order to counseling, Summer. Dawn, that can be arranged. :-)
I'm suggesting neither wants to be brought before a counselor at all. Brooding and random sex with co-workers is such an amazing option for dealing with stress I think those two are already self-medicating. :p
Honestly if anyone needs group counciling it's the wolves. Have you seen the thread where everyone tried to kill each other? No one trusts anyone, the four of them are at each others throats. I'd happily see Nathan in some form of therapy be it with a group or something else.
I'm with SummerDawn on the type of counseling preferred by Derik and Sera. ;)
I'm with Kaligos. There ought to be at least one scene with the Wolves in the counseling office, even if the counseling session is a disaster to explain why we haven't seen more of these scenes. (Or it could become a regular thing in between episodes).
Top post updated!
Specifically, an away mission on the Sabine has been added. Read up and help out with the blanks if you can! :)
Best,
Auctor Lucan
I am most definitely up for a group counseling for the wolves. I'll start something as soon as I can. :-)
@Lucan: Regarding Natalie in the Below Decks: is there an existing thread she should just jump into, or would creating my own be better? I planned on having her drop in sometime after the entry thread wraps up - 2100? 2200?
The thread "Drinking Yourself Blind" might be a perfect fit!
Chapter 05: Drinking Yourself Blind | Day 01 [2200 hrs.] (https://uss-theurgy.com/forum/index.php/topic,2049.0.html)
Already others writing there too! :)
Best,
Auctor Lucan
Thanks, Lucan! I'll read up on that thread and get started on posting Natalie there. Per my understanding, there were meetings after the briefing in the fighter bay, between department heads and potential new arrivals? Or is that on Day 02? Want to make sure I've got my timelines straight with what I'm implying Natalie was up to after the Bay. If she was in meetings, she'd still be in uniform, for instance.
I think she might have to be in uniform, yes, but it's as of yet uncertain if she will have to attend a meeting. The focus is on Resolve staff and perhaps making some of them Senior Staff on the Theurgy. At noon on Day 02, the announcement about the newly appointed will be made.
One meeting Stark'd have, would be with A'vura Zeshryr since she was Acting COps, but since no one is playing her, you can have that meeting scheduled for the morning after? Up to you how you do that.
Short answer, have her drink syntehol and be in uniform in case she is called upon, given the present situation aboard?
Best,
Auctor Lucan
Makes sense. I'll have Nat drop in at 2200 then, in uniform, musing about meetings in the morning :)
I am most definitely up for a group counseling for the wolves. I'll start something as soon as I can. :-)
Dev might want more one on one, if you're open to that.
And she's in the lounge. Posted from my phone, so I can't promise it's in good format lol.
I would like to do some scenes between Nicole and others. I think there is a lot of emotion to be explored there and I would love to get into it. I know the backdrop of the sickness spreading around will bring many to sickbay and that's where she is.
I have a few ideas for scenes, but at this point I am not 100% sure who was on the ship when she was that is still on the ship now, I know there has been a degree of turnover both in universe and out. Also for any character that was technically on the ship, but the writer had not joined at the time of Nicole's injury I would be happy to discuss any retroactive continuity to allow for some relationships not seen "on screen" as it were. And yes I know retcon is a bad word, but in this case it could be used to give some backstory to a time before the attack of the Calamity and when the ships purpose was much clearer.
Anyway, I am also considering writing a small scene between Lahkesis and Nicole and I would be more than willing to include anyone else in that scene. Nicole is going to need to be moved sometime soon in order to open up space in sickbay due to the viral outbreak. SO this could be an opportunity for one of the more buff characters to be buff and carry Nicole.
Hi guys!
So some of you might not have been on the Discord chat when I talked about this, and per the big kahuna's advice, I thought it would be best to bring it up here and see what takes, and if there's any advice to make it fit better into things, please, feel free to tell me, because sometimes I have what MIGHT be a good idea but I might present it terribly. So I hope you can all help me. (L)
Right, so I've re-read the stuff in Page 1, and wow, I need to rethink a few things actually. Sorry, my brain works concurrently with my hands, mouth and thoughts, so I apologize if I appear to jump tracks. I'll try not to.
First of, in regards to the weapon raids. Can Meony lend a hand? She'd totally join in and assist the crew to prevent unauthorized access to weapons. (Besides, she doesn't want anybody grabbing Flash & Burn, her personal weapons, which she no longer has direct access to, or all of her knives collections from various cultures encountered in the Unknown Region. Anyway, if she's authorized to fight against the Devoted, Meony would take the chance to let off some steam and crack a few heads (I think she's still wearing her Tactical CONN suit, so heads may crack)
Okay, but now on to what I really want to talk about.
I've been thinking about that Voyager episode, Tuvix, a lot. And I'm curious to see how people would react to someone who is the merging of two other people that they knew prior.
So the idea is this, and now the plot may be quickened to avoid interruptions to the overall storyline and placements of crew.
But Heather McMillan, a Radiant, is particularly frail and reacts to Virus 117 so strongly, she ends up near death, and to save her, a desperate attempt is made via deliberately inducing the Tuvix effect with her and Meony, creating a blended person who names herself Hermione McReedy, blending the two people's names. (Hermione's face is a blending of Heather's and Meony's so I picked Saoirse Ronan (http://www.hawtcelebs.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/saoirse-ronan-in-the-warp-magazine-december-2015-issue_1.jpg) for the blended look)
The reason for Meony being picked is probably because she volunteered, and probably because she carries an immunity to the virus. The radical attempt is successful, and before too long, the two become unglued of their own accord, due to Heather's unusual biology, but the two now share a close bond, something akin to twins, and here's where we can have fun with it down the line. Perhaps in the name of science, the two rebond (this way, Hermione's image won't be a one-time use and a waste either) and the crew get to react or ponder the phenomena of Heather and Meony's ability.
Originally, before I realized that the mission to the Azure Nebula is on Day 02 itself, I was going to have the whole thing happen on a later date, when Heather's condition worsens. Though perhaps this is all too rushed, and even I find the concept of them unbonding on their own a little hard to fathom. Maybe a transporter mishap occurs on a later date, and by then Heather and Meony are both better intergrated with all the crew, both new and old. And there'd be a stronger reaction, especially from the men who are in a relationship with either women. What happens when two becomes one, and that one also has feelings for those men, but as she's now only one person, who does she choose?
That aside, closer friends of either people would be looking for their old companion in the new person, and will she be able to do the tasks of both Heather and Meony? Is she a competent Tactical CONN? Is she a good biologist? Which position will she take officially? Ives would also face the moral dillemma of either letting Hermione remain as she is, or forcefully separate her back into Heather and Meony, indirectly murdering Hermione.
Though later on, we can bring Hermione back in the form of Heather now possessing the means to simulate the effects of the Transporter blending their DNA together, and recreate Hermione, with the exception that they can now separate at will. This would be a little like Firestorm from DC Comics, though without the superpowers...sort of.
As a half-radiant while bonded with Meony, Hermione can still give off light, and even concentrate her psychokinetic talents to create a tiny pulse shockwave to push away attackers (though doing this will either knock her out or force Heather and Meony to separate)
It's all just ideas, and I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. I think it'll be fun and something else to explore in the Theurgy stories, and it'll be outside of being constantly chased by Task Force Archeron and fighting battles everywhere. Maybe the Devoted might even make something out of it all. Thoughts?
Right, posting real quick here.
I think its no problem working out some backstory for Lahkesis or Nicole! I welcome it for my characters as you see fit, Absinthe.
Hmm, any Tuvix "rip-off" scenario (sorry, my thoughts on it is that I have a personal aversion to the Tuvix thing) will have to wait until Day 05 or 06 in order to not disturb the pre-made plans for the Sabine mission on Day 02. People are anxious to be underway there. Alternatively, Heather doesn't go on the mission, leaving that spot for someone else? We are short on Medical Officers, and mine is tied up with stasis revivals, so Day 02 is a back fit for this either way.
I'd write more, but I need to go pick up the kids.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
I like the idea of having a firestorm like character. Though I believe it shouldn't open the door for more characters with the same abilities. It feels to me like it opens the door to god modding just a bit, but if enough disadvantages are met it can still be controlled.
As for the new character that would emerge, I think it opens up a lot of possibilities for the future. Especially crew wise as people might fall for the new formed entity with all problems that follow when they split once more. It'll be a complicated mess and well I'm a sucker for those...
So in the end I'm not against the idea! I'd be curious to see where it brings us.
I think it is too soon to combine these two characters together. We hardly know Meony and Heather stayed in her room for most of the trip. With all of the casualties the crew has suffered, would they risk the life of the new person to try to get the old ones back? In my opinion, the only reason to do this is because you are tired of playing your two characters and would rather play one while still leaving the tantalizing possibility that they could become two again.
To deal with the desire for resolve characters to get their weapons back, I think I need to set up a thread where they can come and petition Cinn.
Summerdawn, would Sel be interested in joining Cinn on this as she is the mistress-at-arms and last I checked would probably have all of them?
I'm thinking of setting at 1100, an hour after the senior staff announcement. Any objections/better ideas?
As of the morning of Day 02, before the senior staff announcement, there is a riot-like situation in the security center because the Devoted have become violent. This might need to be covered too/first.
Since the Devoted have begun attacking people, the Resolve crew is not feeling safe.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
@Arista: I'd be game to write. All weapons brought aboard were secured in the armory, and per my initial response in "Making a Splash" ( link (https://uss-theurgy.com/forum/index.php/topic,2061.msg11032.html#msg11032) ) all weapons confiscated by the transporter systems were secured in the armory with owner info in case the Captain approved their release.
@Esyel, Even Angels Cry, and Burningtransformation: I pretty much wrapped up the scene with Nolan in sickbay and feel Tanithil will want to find his squadmates from the White Wolves. was wondering if you guys wanted to get together and do a scene where they all reunite discuss options as this is before the whole briefing in the fighter deck.
I like the idea of Heather and Meony joining temporarily. It'd be nice to explore the topics slightly deeper than in the episode 'Tuvix'.
I do think it'd be a fun feature for the latter parts of the Interregnum as suggested. I'm half and half on the ability to re-join at will, as I'm not sure I want to see that ability overplayed
Sorry, after some thinking and after taking into account the risk of this Tuvix reprisal to become an overpowered and even more implausible thing than the original episode was, I have to say no. I can't see this happening in the story.
Feel free to write it as a 'what if' scenario in Director's Cut though!
Best Regards,
Auctor Lucan
Okay. That works for me. Thanks for even allowing it to be considered at all, boss. (L)
Brutus and I have worked out a thread where Faye ends up having to talk with Selena about getting over/used to her new cybernetic arm. We figure that with Selena being the one expert on board that's not bogged down with XO duties the doctor/councilor would link the two together for this. Of course it could be a straight up order, or it could be a more hijinxy method a la Phlox.
Looking at setting it on day 3 or 4 after she's had enough time to thaw out.
In addition, have a few nebulous plot odeas that I'm tossing around with Nolan and Triage as well for Faye that need fleshing out. Natalie and Simon are gonna have a quick chat after the senior staff meeting ends tho. And she and Trent have a meeting around 1400 on day 02.
For those who need it, here is a useful spreadsheet to help marking where you want character meetings to happen. This can then be used to approach writers.

Also attached.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
Mathis and I have a follow-up to the Fanatical Interests thread in mind, something a little fun that explores Shall and Derik's personal lives and relationships. It'll start about an hour after the end of Fanatical Interests, I was thinking it'd pick up as they leave Sickbay.
The Engineering department has a thread going on in CHAPTER 40: PUTTING HER BACK TOGETHER | DAY 02 [ 1415 hrs. (https://uss-theurgy.com/forum/index.php/topic,2080.0.html) that will most involve the security and tactical departments. It is likely that the tactical department will be called to provide instructions on how to disarm an unexploded photon torpedo and that security will be called to subdue a rogue engineer holding the warp core hostage. Are any PCs from Security or Tactical free during DAY 02 ,1415 hrs.? It would be strange if the department heads of security and tactical, not to mention the CO and XO, not being notified when the $#!+ hits the fan.
I am not certain if it bears relevance or if she qualifies for it, but Sinead is essentially a Dominion War veteran, and she was Starfleet Security for most of her life. She then added to her combat skills, what she learnt from the Engineering Corps. Since coming aboard the Theurgy she has been reassigned back to Engineering, where she will be showing up. While she isn't Security or ground combat anymore, her experience and familiarity with being a Security officer can help? She would be going to William Robert O'Connell for assignment. And he'll probably have her dossier and records.
For what it is worth, the XO is on the holodeck with Natalie starting at 1400. We would need to take the timing of this into account,
@CanadianVet . Probably have the call to the XO interrupt lessons for Natalie.
kind of odd question, but are their any good piloting threads that Nathan can get in on come day 02?
He's been wrapped up in this interogation of Maya for a long time but he was supposed to be transfered back to being a pilot come the next day. I haven't used the half romulan in a long time, and that got me thinking about moving forward.
@Nolan
Small idea for the away mission
@Auctor Lucan I was playing Star Trek Online, and there is a mission where you go to a long abandoned Federation station, aside from having to deal with the random security things that turn on like death traps. The bowels of the station is completely over run by these Talarian Hook Spiders (http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Talarian_hook_spider)
They are giant aracnids that hide in dark long powered down ships, and seem to thrive in such environments hiding in the few warm places left. When we restore main power to the station they would be able to crawl out of the heating vents where they have long resided. An unparalleled horrific swarm of hungry spiders with hooks for appendages.
@Kaligos @Arista Could do the thread where Ravon gets cleared and Nathan gets commissioned or brought back to TAC CONN?
Otherwise, I'd say ask around with the other pilots, no flight missions so far besides the away mission.
Perhaps patrol mission?
I think I have managed to identify a way to make this thread more coherent and accessible. With all the plots gathered in one thread, it's subject for a lot of updates that I can't keep up with, and with the number of members so large, there is a lot to keep track of. So, I am going to divide this thread into the different sub-plots, with one thread for the Devoted, one for Virus 117, one for the Asurian threat etc. This way, we can discuss each sub-plot separately, with greater focus on progress for each of them.
Since the Poll suggested that we are quite fed up with mutiny threads - aside from the Devoted angle - I might ditch the sub-plot we have not begun yet that discussed the Jona/Ives Ideologies.
For the time being,
@Kaligos , I love the idea, and I will make sure to keep it in mind for the most opportune moment. ;)
Best,
Auctor Lucan
I for one am glad none of my characters are going to deal with spiders. Yick!
I'm seeing we're getting quite a crop of junior personnel...
I think we need a "lower deck" thread with our various junior type, no one above very junior CPOs!
Well, now that B'Nila is canon on Theurgy, I'd be happy to do threads with her. So if anyone needs a head shrink we have yet another one. Or I'd be happy to do a thread in the gym's steam room, the lighting could be set low and moody, good spot for any member of the crew who thinks humans like things way too cold.
I have removed one mutiny sub-plot and posted the big ones separately now. Left here are general - character-driven - sub-plots that we can discuss in this thread. I have yet to revise the top post fully, making it up to date, but I will do so asap.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
I still need to coordinate a counseling session (at least one) with one of our head shrinkers for Deacon at some point on Day 3 once it becomes available. A telepath would be preferable if one's available. :)
B'Nila is a touch telepath, even though she does prefer to do more traditional therapy.
Hi everyone!
With no character applications bogging me down, and some background projects being wrapped up, I figure I needed to check if I have made any promises about character scenes with either of the below ones with you guys. I remember some of them, and even if we have nothing on the waiting list, feel free to suggest meetings that are specially relevant for your characters.
However, instead of cluttering this thread, why not PM me instead? Please don't leave a message on Discord though, since those get lost. PM is the way to go. :)

Top post updated! :)
Remember that the different Sub-Plots in the Interregnum have their own discussion threads now.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
Just thinking here, would there be enough interest to have a junior ranks only gathering? No one above the rank of Chief Petty Officer, no Senior or Master Chiefs, no officers, no warrants, just the grunts?
I would join in one. Alessia is slowly making new friends, but a thread like that wouldn't hurt.
B'Nila would be up for any Non-Comm gatherings.
Awesome idea! Pick one of the lounges, not the Spearhead one, and have them gather there? I might have Liam Herrold swing by as well.
Best,
Auctor Lucan
Copied from the Main OOC thread for posterity, since the Main OOC can be more active and the list lost on earlier pages:
RANDOM ENCOUNTER LIST FOR DAY 03
As mentioned in the last newsletter, here is the lottery result of the random encounters for Day 03!
This idea was very liked when mentioned on our Discord server. It is a little writing exercise called Random Encounters. The setup is simple, where I have made a list in MS Excel of our actively played characters in two columns next to each other. Then, I made a third column that is optional, but pretty helpful in giving ideas, where locations aboard Thea is listed. What I did next was that I randomised the columns, like a lottery, and we end up with the writing challenge for your all.
The challenge posed will be for all of you to write short threads during Day 03 where the characters that end up next to each other in the randomised columns interact in some way or fashion. The two writers that have been paired need to figure out a way to do it, and the third column will suggest a location for the two characters to meet. The writer with a character in the left column is the one who posts the starter.
I hope you will all see this as a chance to have your characters end up interacting with characters they normally wouldn't, and that you all may find new writing partners in the long run when doing this.
Oh, and no, it is not required that the paired characters have sex in the location listed, just to be perfectly clear, lol!
Best Regards,
Auctor Lucan
