Interregnum 02-03 S2
| In the aftermath, the newly announced D'ravsai Coalition — a Romulan-Reman governing body — began the long work of consolidating what momentum they had into something resembling a government, while the Federation took its first cautious steps toward recognition with the authorization of provisional transit corridors through the Neutral Zone and a single envoy to Romulus. Trouble brewed on multiple horizons, however. Admiral Sankolov and the Archeron remained unaccounted for, the Tal'Shiar's dispersed operatives had no clear chain of command to dismantle, and intelligence extracted at the cost of Lieutenant Commander Jennifer Dewitt's life suggested that the Orion Syndicate, Tzenkethi, Kinshaya, Gorn, Tholian, and Breen factions were moving in coordinated alignment against a Federation they read as fractured and distracted. In tumultuous time, the scarred crew of the Theurgy found a period of relative recovery in which the dead were mourned, the wounded were tended, and the ship was rebuilt from the inside out. President Bacco's formal pardon had done more than restore the crew's standing with Starfleet — it had opened doors that had been sealed since the night they fled Earth. For the first time in over a year, crew members could reach out to the families, friends, and loved ones who had been told only that they were traitors. Starfleet support began to flow grudgingly but not without objection, and the ship no longer running from its own fleet, some missions of quiet but critical import could still be undertaken in the days that followed. But the USS Cayuga required salvage before her wreck gave up its secrets to the wrong hands, the D'ravsai Coalition required careful shepherding through its first fragile weeks, the Klingon allies would not be ignored, and the question of what Sankolov was planning in the dark demanded answers that could not wait for the ship to finish healing.
