CH04: S [D05|1200] For The Dancing And The Dreaming

Chapter 04: Supplemental [Day 05 | 1200 hrs.] For The Dancing And The Dreaming

[ Ens. Krystal "Meony" Tancredi | Meony's Temporary Quarters | Deck 15 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] Attn: @Triton
[Show/Hide]
She had to double up with another crewmate since her actual quarters was on the Helmet, but she still had sufficient privacy, and at the moment, she had the whole place to herself, which was perfect. She didn't fancy anyone seeing her pour her heart out, her fears, and insecurities, to be sent to someone in the event of her death. She paced back and forth a while, thinking how she wanted to word it out, and how much was too much. Ultimately, she decided there was no limits. This was a final message. The Borg was no joke, and not even Meony was that dumb to think she had a chance against that. Of all the foes she'd faced in Hell Sector, none held the enigma and terror as the Borg.

“Personal log, supplemental,” said Meony, beginning her recording and account of the events to unfold, “Ensign Krystal Tancredi, true name, Meony. Fifth day'n hell. Ah thought when we saw Starbase eighty-four in saht, it was th' end t' our trahbels. Turned out it was just th' start o' somethin' worse. So much worse. In fahve days, Ah've fought a mad cult within th' ship, met an' barely survived an attack bah Ass-urines, an' their big-ass Savi allies. Now we've got th' Borg. Fah-kin Borg.” she shook her head, almost laughing at her ambivalence. She sat down on the nearest chair, then continued, “Ah've servahved impossible odds 'fore, but Ah admit...Ah don' really teenk we have a prayer of a chance this tahm. Not against th' Borg, an' not th' way we are. This Theurgy...it's a broken ship, with nothin' but broken souls.”

She lowered her head, then looked back up, “Ah'm still gonna faht lahk hell. Don't know 'bout th' others, but if it's gonna be mah last battle, Ah'm gonna go down swingin', an' Ah ain't gonna let 'em take me, no sir Ah won't! Ah don't know who th' hell's gonna hear this, if ever, but if ya fahnd this, th' Borg are comin', an' Ah say hit 'em with everythin' ya got. Give 'em hell. God speed to us all. End log.”

Now for the hardest part. She activated a personal recorder, “Jimmy,” she began, “if ye're seein' this...Ah'm so sorry...Ah guess it means...well...ya know.” She laughed nervously, “Whah is it Ah cain only say this when Ah'm not in front o' ya? Ah wish...” she threw her hands up in the air, and sighed loudly, “...Ah wish Ah could turn back tahm...so that Ah get ta spend more tahm with ya. And...” she glanced down, overcome with emotion, that was apparent on her face, and then looked towards where she imagined he'd be standing if he saw this, “...mah answer, to yer question, is yes. Jimmy, whatever happens from here forward...Ah'm not with ya, but doesn't mean ya get t' go off half-cocked and actin' stupid, ya hear? Please...live fer me. Ah will always love ya.”

She closed the recorder and set it to be sent in the event her death was confirmed. When she finished, she sank back against the bulkhead in the far corner of the room, just letting everything sink in, until the call to duty was made.
