[Ensign Jaya Thorne | Holodeck 05 | Deck 21 | Vector 03 | USS Theurgy]
Attn: @Pierce @Brutus

Jaya couldn’t help but grumble as their simulation came to an end with a crash. Again. As she listened to Lauren’s apology, the Denevan Ensign buried her face in her hands and took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself down. After several seconds she looked up at the empty viewscreen of the holographic Battle Bridge and forced a smile upon her face. ”That’s alright, Shortcake.” While Jaya spoke, her voice was friendly even though there was a somewhat frustrated undertone to it at the same time. ”I mean, at this point I think we’re pretty even in terms of crashes.”

While it was true that both Assistant Chief CONN Officers had crashed an equal amount of times, Jaya also knew that their skill wasn’t the problem. Granted, they were trying an extremely difficult manoeuvre that definitely wasn’t intended for a ship as large as the USS Theurgy so problems were to be expected, but they were ironing out those problems with each new attempt. As Jaya leaned back in her chair and grumbled annoyedly once more, she knew all too well what the common denominator was to each failed attempt; the one problem they hadn’t been able to iron out.

Thea.

Thus far, most of their attempts had been because the ship basically tried to protect herself from imminent destruction and overrode the input from the CONN console. As Jaya pondered on a new solution to the problem, the one thing that made her smile was the challenge she’d proposed and the hope that Lauren wouldn’t hold her to that challenge; after all, if they had to take one item off the menu for each time they’d crashed by now, Jaya knew that she would be eating noodle cups and dry bread for over a week. Shaking her head and grinning, now at least semi-genuinely, Jaya decided to head over to Lauren’s holodeck once again to discuss their problems in person and pushed herself out from behind her CONN console.

When Jaya arrived at Lauren’s holodeck just a minute later, the very first thing she saw was that Shortcake had rested her jacket on the back of her chair. Not realizing that the Martian CONN Officer was completely naked because her frame was hidden from view by that uniform jacket, Jaya walked up to the Mission Ops console and leaned against it. ”You know what, Shortcake?” While she spoke, Jaya turned her large auburn-coloured eyes towards the console she was resting on; remaining completely oblivious to Lauren’s undress. ”We’ve been trying this for a while now and we’re definitely getting better at it, at least if you stop destroying your CONN console.” Jaya briefly turned her attention to Lauren, who was still hidden from view by the back of her seat, and chuckled. Joking had always been Jaya’s way of dealing with stress and, even now, it still worked. ”The main problem is Theurgy herself. She overruled us at crucial moments, almost as if she doesn’t trust us, and in doing so she caused most of our crashes.” Jaya pondered out loud while inputting data in the Mission Ops console in an attempt to simulate a potential new course of action. Of course, the most obvious one would be to get Thea on their side, but convincing the AI would take more than a fancy smile and smooth talking. It wouldn’t stop Jaya from pitching the idea to Lauren though and, without taking her eyes off the Mission Ops console, she continued talking. ”I think we should discuss the idea with Thea, maybe get her in on these manoeuvres so she’ll start helping us instead of opposing us. It sounds like a logical idea and at this point I don’t think we have anything left to lose.” Without realizing the double meaning behind her words, given how underdressed Lauren Pierce was at this point, Jaya shrugged and spoke up. ”Thea? Can you join us please?” As she spoke, Jaya made an attempt not to sound too annoyed and even half-succeeded while addressing the ship’s AI.

Sasch lay there pressing her eyes shut against the pain.  But the physical pain was only part of what was going on.  Here was a twenty-one-year-old young woman.  One who just graduated from the Academy only months before.  A girl on vacation that her parents had sprung for during her short time between graduation and TacConn.  She had been kidnapped, rescued, caught by the Savi, tortured her, and now..Now the damn doctor didn’t even want to allow her let her parents know she was alive.

Okay. Listen. Both of you. I…,” Arven blinked. “Sorry. I have to research this. I think,” “This is…well…its amazing, but…horrible,” Arven panted.

It’s amazing?  It’s amazing?”  Sasch swallowed the words so they were almost a gurgle and incomprehensible.  This ass had no idea what the two of them had been through, and he didn’t seem to give a damn about them as people, or even about them as patients.

He stepped away to a terminal and then started yelling for people who didn’t appear.  She turned her head away, but a moment later - after hearing a curse - something cold pressed against her neck and the some of the sharp pain that she felt dulled, but some of it continued to bite and tear and gnaw at her.  But then he said

This…should alleviate the pain, but if the cellular rearrangement has blocked the receptors it wont work at all,” the doctor said.

Trying to listen to the doctor through what felt like a new wave of pain.  She didn’t like it, but it made sense why some of her pain was gone and some of it wasn’t.  “Some of zhe pain is gone,”  She continued through a groan, “but some feels vorse.  Is zhat vhat you vere talking about …on zhe cellular level?  Is somezhing going on vizh some of my cells?” the green-haired young woman asked.

Sasch pressed her lips into a thin line.  “And, I do need to let my parents know zhat I am okay.”  With a groan Sasch pushed herself into a sitting position.  “You don’t understand.  I vas kidnapped before I vas rescued by zhe Cayuga.  If you von’t do it, let me haf access to a terminal so I can let zhem know zhat I am alive - even if you have no idea vhat is vrong vizh me.  I haf to let zhem know.”  She tried to stand.  As her feet touched the deck, her knees buckled and she caught herself on all fours.  Feeling incredibly awkward, she slipped into a seated position on the floor.

[Ens. Irnashall “Shall ch’Xinya | Observation Lounge 4 | Deck 15 | Vector 03 | USS Theurgy] attn: @joshs1000

Nodding in apology, Shall quickly took the offered hand, grateful for the shared custom. “My apologies Commander. I spend so much of my time cooped up in my lab I tend to miss the finer points of what is happening around us. Plus it’s not too often we come across military vessels in distress for First Contact, normally they’re civilian ships.”

As the light level increased Shall stood and glanced at the sheets in Hassar’s hands and lap, curiosity getting the better of him at first. Of course he couldn’t read any of it, the alien symbols completely foreign to the chan, just as much as Federation Standard was at first, but they interested him enough that he missed the stare. Looking up to the other man’s face when he made a sound and moved again, Shall frowned at the mention of the Infested. “For their sakes I pray to Uzaveh that that’s not the case. It never ends well whenever someone runs across them…”

For reasons he can’t quite figure out, Shall finds himself sitting down in one of the other chairs, angling himself so that he can watch both Hassar and the view outside at the same time. “Quiet? I guess it really is a matter of perspective, most newcomers to Federation ships tend to complain the persistent background noise is too loud for them to sleep. As for the universal translator, give it some time, while it usually allows for basic communication quickly it has to have more exposure to be more precise.” He explains with a shrug for the latter half before gesturing towards the paper. “What is it you’re working on?”

Ensign Lauren Pierce | Holodeck 03 | Deck 21 | Vector 03 | USS Theurgy] Attn: @Nesota Kynnovan [Show/Hide]

Lauren yawned as she was still working on the maneuvers that she and Brownie, aka Jaya, were attempting. Her mind was feeling somewhat tired from watching the simulations over and over. She nodded with a start. Must have been a lack of sleep, she thought to herself. Had the ship actually let her do the maneuvers, things would have gone off without a hitch. But with the safeties active, even in the program, she was bored.

She felt glad that the ship had safety features; however, those also hindered experienced pilots from doing the impossible. Someone like her. She smiled warmly, imagining the exercise in her mind going off without a hitch. Especially considering she knew it backwards and forwards. She'd flown the night shift on the Enterprise-E for crying out loud. Things rarely happened, but that didn't stop her from experimenting anyhow.

Hearing the comms activate from the adjacent holosuite, she heard Jaya pipe up. “Yeah Brownie?” She inquired when being spoken to. “Sadly. I know we can pull it off, but this damn computer keeps interfering...and no. We can not let this go. We have to do this...somehow.” She scratched her head and moved a hair from her face as she put her hands back at the CONN, watching the simulation restart yet again.

Lauren chuckled at hearing the strip-CONN situation. “That's funny! We never did that, but it sounds fun.” She contemplated whether Jaya was serious or not.

She figured they'd already botched it several times and that Jaya might be playing too, so she started taking items off one at a time for each time they crashed out. Carefully, she removed her left boot, followed by her right, and then her jacket, which she rested on the back of her chair. Glancing around, she looked at the room which had no other souls in it, albeit her, and she noted she only had four more items left, which meant she had little to go. She slipped out of her duty uniform slacks and placed them at her feet, feeling the cooler air hit her legs, causing a shiver. Then she took off her red turtleneck undershirt for her uniform and placed it on the chair as well. Sitting in her bra and panties was all she had left at this point. Hopefully, she didn't have to be naked.

Hands glistened over the controls as they attempted the maneuver again, as the computer stalled it out and caused her to hit the other vector hard. She felt angry at the systems before she punched the console with her synthetic hand, leaving a slight dent in the holographic control board. She took off her bra next and tossed it aside, letting her bountiful breasts flow freely in the air and on her chest. The cold air caused her nipples to perk up slightly.

Pausing and shaking it off, she attempted to control the ship once more, but due to her punch in the controls, it caused a damaged controller to not activate, which in turn caused yet another crash. “Sorry for that crash Brownie! Controls are damaged. Let me reset my controls here. I punched it last time we crashed.” Looking down at her naked chest, she shrugged and took her panties off, throwing them aside as she sat in the buff in the cool. fabric CONN chair. She wondered how much Jaya had taken off already in the other room...

[Ensign Jaya Thorne | Holodeck 05 | Deck 21 | Vector 03 | USS Theurgy]
Attn: @Pierce

A frustrated Jaya slammed her fist against the armrest of her CONN seat. In the past half hour they had made repeated attempts to get this manoeuvre to work, but every single attempt had ended in failure. To make matters even worse and more infuriating, Jaya was quite sure that most of the failures could be attributed to the USS Theurgy herself and the numerous safety protocols that were written into her hard coding; in one occasion the ship had even locked her out of the CONN station and autonomously broken off the manoeuvre. To say that it was getting the better of the Denevan Assistant Chief CONN Officer was an understatement and she slammed her fist against the metallic armrest of her seat once again before taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm down.

After what felt like ages but couldn’t have been more than a minute, Jaya’s signature smirk slowly returned to her face and she sighed softly. While it was surely annoying, there was no denying that a state of the art Starfleet dreadnought was different from an old cargo freighter and certain issues were to be expected. Still, it bothered Jaya to know that the ship could override her inputs at any given moment because, at the end of the day, she was still the CONN Officer and she felt like she should have total control over the ship regardless of her choices. ”Hey Shortcake?” As she spoke up, Jaya turned her large auburn-coloured eyes towards the viewscreen; even though the communication channel to Ensign Lauren Pierce was audio only to prevent any unnecessary distractions, it was something she did automatically at this point. ”That’s like, what… seven or eight crashes now?” Despite Jaya’s annoyance, she managed to make her voice sound quite laid back and relaxed; maybe even a little amused. ”Thea is making us look like Flight Cadets at this point, we can’t stand for that right?”

While Jaya talked, she pressed some inputs on her console to restart the simulation yet again. As the simulation restarted and both Vectors once again found themselves at a safe 85,000 kilometres, Jaya briefly looked down at her controls to contemplate on a possible new approach. ”You know, back at the Academy we used to say that you had to take something off for each time you crashed.” When she mentioned that, Jaya recalled how people had to take a certain food off of their menu for every time they messed up in the simulations. It was an innocent, albeit innocent incentive for people to try their very best because good results also resulted in better replicator rations. ”Let’s do that right now, it’s a good incentive if we stand to lose something.” Jaya laughed while she absentmindedly looked at her console. She was so caught up in thinking of a possible solution to their problems that she wasn’t even aware of the double meaning behind her words. ”I curious how much we’ll end up taking off before we get this right.”

[OOC: Tag: @Eirual @Brutus @Ellen Fitz]

As she listened to Kelistina, Jaya nodded in agreement. There was a serious language barrier and the Assistant Chief CONN Officer found herself struggling to understand the woman, but she clearly understood that Kelistina mentioned that she’d follow her. Before she could answer, Jaya suddenly heard a series of muffled thuds coming from the Jeffries Tube and she quite nearly jumped out of her skin when someone suddenly fell right through the hatch. The person landed in between her and Kelistina and it took the Denevan Ensign a good couple of seconds to realize that it was not just a Starfleet Officer, but a member of the Senior Staff.

Lieutenant Commander Madsen.

While Jaya didn’t know the woman personally, she had once overheard one of the Diplomatic Attache’s talk about the woman and tried to remember what the Caitian had mentioned. Jaya could recall that it had something to do with the new Chief Diplomatic Officer being overly aggressive and often preferring to fight her way out of tough situations instead of talking things through. Filling in the blanks on the spot, the Assistant Chief CONN Officer concluded that Lieutenant Commander Madsen was likely a former member of the Maquis who had turned to piracy before being recruited to Theurgy’s fight against the infected. It only caused Jaya to smirk; in this situation, she very much preferred someone who knew how to fight.

In the exchange that followed between the Chief Diplomatic Officer and Kelistina, where Lieutenant Commander Madsen mentioned a frontal attack on Engineering and how it was probably a distraction for something much bigger, Jaya’s respect for the former pirate only grew. It was no wonder that the Chief Diplomatic Officer had flourished in such a dangerous profession if she was always that sharp and quick to reach the right conclusions. When Kelistina asked if they should go now, Jaya reached out and took a hold of the phaser the woman had offered to Enyd. ”I’ll take it, don’t worry.” As she spoke, Jaya’s voice matched the friendly smirk on her face even though it was clear that she was in a rush; if anyone managed to reach the Positronic Brain Core, there was no saying how much damage they could do to the ship. Turning her attention to Enyd, Jaya presented her with a curt nod. ”I’ll take point, Commander.”

With those words, Jaya began to climb into the Jeffries Tube. ”Don’t worry Kel, it’s a tight squeeze but we’ll get you through!”

Cmdr. (3rd) Hassar al-Zaheer | Observation Lounge 4 | Deck 15 | Vector 03 | USS Theurgy] Attn: @chXinya
[Show/Hide]

Hassar listened to the explanation of what exactly the experiment was, it actually made more sense than the blue alien probably knew. On vaharran ships, lacking the advanced sensor arrays of like Starfleet has, fixes of position were done with optical telescopes and readings taken from pulsars. While Hassar himself was just a Marine, he was qualified in basic navigation, one of the requirements to be able to command a ship. The hard part was all the math, though thanks to assistance from the Klingons, their ships now had computers that could do a lot of the tedious work, replacing the role of the entire combat information center which handled complex navigation.

Darkness descended once more and Hassar sighed in annoyance as he had just started to read the papers on his lap, still intently listening as Shall explained his antennae. He found them quite curious but resisted, for the moment, the urge to touch them, unsure if that was some sort of culturally taboo thing. Instead he just nodded and glanced back up from his papers to examine them once more in the dim light.

Then came the question, was he a civilian, he smiled in amusement and then offered a hand to shake, something he had learned during his time with humans, as he spoke.

“I guess technically from your point of view I am but I’m with the Arosian Marines, part of my people’s military, Commander, 3rd Rank, Hassar al-Zaheer, though you can just call me Commander al-Zaheer if you prefer…or just Hassar.”

Saying his full rank out loud reminded him of his work as he glanced around the room, then with some uncertainty he said in a raised voice, “Computer…uh…can you make the lights dim?”

The computer obediently beeped in response and the lights turned on to a nice cozy level as well as allowing the two men to get a better look at each other. Hassar turned back to his companion and raised his brow in surprise upon seeing the blue skin of Shall properly, it had a wonderful shade of blue that contrasted nicely with his long white hair. The allure of how it so well complimented the handsome young man’s features caused the vaharran to perhaps stare a little longer than he intended.

He cleared his throat and scratched his cheek before turning back to his paperwork.

“Yeah so uh, we were out here searching for a missing ship and found your ship, we think this Infested enemy you fight might be the culprits.”

He scribbled some things in his own language on one of the pieces of paper and swapped it for another as he continued.

“I must say though, it’s been a little bit of an adjustment for us. The quiet on your vessel makes it hard to sleep so I’ve been resorting to meditation, plus the language barriers, your translation device helps but some words sound like gibberish.”

An additional little image of Hassar I made for the thread.   /;-D

[LT Arven Leux | PCU, Main Sickbay | Deck 11 | Vector 2 | The Ranger] Attn: @Dree  @Ellen Fitz
[Show/Hide]
While each patient spoke, the Doctor did his best to listen while he worked; his eyes glanced up from the console every other word at least, which was pretty good for him. Between the green-haired girl’s accent and wolf-lady’s wet-edged growls, it wouldn’t have been easy for him to follow along in the best of times, and this wasn’t exactly the best of times.

“We’ll get to that, stay still please,” he frowned at green-hair's request to inform her parents, more out of absent-minded concentration rather than any real disapproval, then turned to wolf-lady. “We could use the help, but we need to get you treated first, or…at least diagnosed. Lie down. Try to relax. Stay still,” he nodded to the bed, again, then returned his full attention to the screen before him while he adjusted the settings.

No wounds, no external or internal hemorrhaging, no obvious organ damage or trauma, Arven shook his head with another frown. He had to look deeper, closer. Please don’t be cellular, please don’t be cellular, please don’t be –

The console chirped.

Arven’s eyes narrowed.

“Bloody hell,” he cursed.

Vulpinian biology was truly remarkable, having evolved to “shift” between three forms via specialized hormone glands and a fascinating cellular receptor throughout their entire body; to facilitate each “shift”, they essentially altered themselves – at will – at the cellular level. Bones grew and shrunk, even altered position and orientation. Muscles contracted, expanded, entire organs changed positions, or new ones grew altogether. Humans, by contrast, were…well, weren’t the same. We tend to die when our cells get altered. But…that didn’t seem to stop the bloody Savi from trying.

”Okay. Listen. Both of you. I…,” Arven blinked, his mind racing. Where's Vi when I need her. It. He turned from the console, in a hurry to race to the research lab to double check the data and get a simulation going on possible surgical treatments, when he remembered the patients and turned back to them, hands up in placation. “Sorry. I have to research this. I think,” he paused, pointing at the console, then the two of them, seemingly lost for words but…almost maniac with excitement. “This is…well…its amazing, but…horrible,” Arven panted, then ran a hand over his face to regain his composure.

It didn't work.

“PAX,” he hollered suddenly, then “Kitty,” when the red-head didn’t appear. His head snapped left and right for the Nurse, but she didn’t come running either. Shite, okay,” he remembered the patients, again, and rushed back to their beds to prep a hypo for each of them. “This…should alleviate the pain, but if the cellular rearrangement has blocked the receptors it wont work at all,” he told green-hair, then looked to wolf-lady. “I can give you a temporary shot of hormones to balance you out, but I wouldn’t try changing form any time soon,” Arven told her cryptically, as he prepped the hypo-sprays for both of them, utterly oblivious to their facial expressions.

OOC - Arven is the worst Doctor. I'd run, seriously, and I sincerely apologize for taking so long in replying.

Kelistina Jumped back when something, or rather someone, tumbled out of the ladder tunnel and fell at their feet. Looking down at the female in confusion and fear at first. She recognized the female as one she had seen at the fancy party earlier and relaxed somewhat.

“Ja-ya said brain core target,” Kel said reaching out a hand to help Enyd to her feet, “You know what is it? I tell might get… stuck in tunnel. But I go too.” After Enyd was back on her feet Kel held out the phaser, “I not use this, you take?”

Considering that Kel wasn’t a Starfleet officer, it was unlikely the weapons would have even worked if she had fired it. “It from others not breathing now,”she said sadly, pointing back towards where they had found the murdered officers, “much saddness.” She finished slowly shaking her head before taking a deep breath.

She looked between Enyd and Jaya, “We go now?”

[IRS Vas'deletham | A few moments earlier.....] @Brutus @Dumedion @Ellen Fitz @joshs1000

It had taken longer to setup than Commander Borroso had hoped to set up the attack, but the Romulan ship master was a pragmatic man and he'd done what necessary bring his plan to fruition.  The carrier had taken some more damage and was trailing a small amount of plasma from one of the impulse engines, but the plan had worked as the lumbering ship sped away from the Starfleet ship while the more nimble Valdores brought themselves about for another run on the ship identified as Theurgy.  She was trailing smoke and atmosphere now, and like hunters going after a wounded prey, they were going to pounce.

The only aspect of the plan that upset the carrier commander was the fearsome losses the fighter group had taken and his lips had to give a begrudging grin since the target had put out an incredible amount of firepower that had smashed fighters left and right in the attack run. It had all been worth it though as the gap he needed in the ship's defences had been created.  "Commander Borroso to boarding party, remember, I want that ship as a prize. Good luck.  Transport and launch Shuttles." The Commander solemnly intoned as 40 Romulan Marines beamed over to the Federation ship and shuttles carrying another 80 launched themselves into the maelstrom.

[Shohlogh G'gedh | Deck 6 | Vector 01 | The Helmet | USS Theurgy | In the present....]

The maintenance tube shook and the sound of weapons fire impacting vibrated through the very structure of the cursed ship as the team of Klingons shimmied their way through towards what the schematics were calling an auxiliary engineering room. At least that was the guess of the team leader since the most amount of energy being output was in that direction.  The timing was too good and any discomfort the infiltrator felt was a minor inconvenience.  The crew would be distracted in trying to keep the metal skin around them intact.  Nobody would notice.  Soon.  Soon, vengeance would be his and the thought tasted sweet in his mouth.  The group just needed to get through the junction up ahead and then there was a small access hatch into the engineering deck.  "I look forward to this day brothers.  We should savour this moment when we burst amongst the cowardly voles.  Starfleet. Hah!"  Shohlogh laughed derisively.  "Nothing but a bunch of prettied up technicians."  He concluded.

"Quiet!"  The leader called back as he took a moment to turn back and deliver a deadly glare.  "Give away our position, and you'll never get a chance to sink metal into the enemies flesh.  They may be cowardly, but a phaser blast will kill just as surely as a blade."  The team leader turned back to crawling and keeping somewhat steady as the ship shook while Shohlogh cursed derision under his breath.  While there was wisdom in the team leaders words, it seemed too gutless.  Maybe he'd keep an eye on his 'leader' and if presented the opportunity, give him a coward's death.  It would be a vindication of his abilities before he went to Sto-Vo-Kor.  Shohlogh's canines became visible as he smiled at the potential of the situation.

The team lead stopped to take a moment and sit up in the cramped tunnel as he listened and watched to make sure their exit wasn't trapped.  His hand came up suddenly, stopping the other Klingons as the sign of impending danger arose.  Hurried boot steps could be heard coming down a ladder.  The clunking got closer for another 3 or 4 steps when the leader leapt out of the tunnel with a snarl and grabbed an alien by the back and flung him onto the deck.  The human screamed for a second then yelled as he landed hard and clearly in pain.  The Klingon was on top of the stunned witless human and drove a powerful palm strike at his quarry's face.  The human grunted as his head was smashed into deck, sending blood flying as he was dazed.  Another man yelped in surprise and scrambled to ascend the ladder with haste.  The leader silently cursed as he pulled his disruptor and fired at the fleeing human.  The first shot missed and scored the bulkhead with an ugly black splotch.  The second shot caused the engineer's foot to shatter in a cascade of leather, bone, and flesh.  The man screamed first as the pain smashed through his nervous system, then as he lost his footing and fell to the deck.  The leader brought his pistol to bear on the gap the engineers had emerged from checking for any more interlopers.

This was his chance.  Shohlogh quickly exited the maintenance tunnel and put the stunned engineer in a headlock with a thrill.  The rush of power over his helpless for was intoxicating as the human began to struggle for air, hands clawing at his face for any sort of purchase and release from the massive arm that was choking the life out of him.  It was not an even to be enjoyed for too long as the team leaders words came through quickly and harshly.  "End it, we have a mission to complete."  The infiltrator quietly sighed as he pulled his d'k tahg and held it aloft, long enough that he was sure the human saw the implement of his own end before driving it with all his might into the human's chest.  The human screamed and Shohlogh moved to cover his mouth as he twisted the metal inside the human's body.  "Quickly now, the humans could have heard us, we need to go to maintain out advantage." He finished before diving headlong into the final tunnel before their objective.  Another infiltrator sliced open the other engineer's throat.  "At you will had a quick death instead of life as a cripple."  He finished before following the leader.  Shohlogh sneered as he regarded the two fallen before him and spat thick globules at each of their bodies.  "Far better since your deaths were at least honorable."  With that final indignity, dove in after everyone else to glory.

[Lieutenant Ida zh'Wann | Deck 6 | Vector 01 | The Helmet | USS Theurgy]
Fights were breaking out all over Vector 1 and the situation was definitley becoming hectic as Lieutenant Zark's voice became shorter and more clipped as she managed the battle from the Security Centre on Vector 2.  The secure comms flowed with information as the chaos flowed in. "Hull breaches dorsal Vector 1.  Fires and plasma leaks on decks 2 through 5.   Vector 1 transport inhibitor is non responsive.  Repeat, Vector 1 transport inhibitor is non responsive.  System shows destroyed. Romulans beaming in decks 1, 2, 6, and 10.  They're going for the bridge, main computers, engineering, and shuttle bay.  Automatic defences on the bridge are responding.  Friendly forces on decks 2 and 10 are engaged. Ida, hostile Romulan forces are coming up from behind you and we have Klingon weapon fire near engineering.  Kino, finish your situations and head to the shuttle bay to repel boarders.  Hirek, head to deck 6 to reinforce engineering."

Shelat. Lt. zh'Wann thought to herself as she made her way towards engineering, going from a steady clip to a full out run, armoured boots thundering on the deck.   "Zark, do you have an exit locus for the Klingons?"  The pause was tense as the other security officer's mind worked.  The tension didn't last long though. "Port side, either the storage room or the power relays." Ida mentally nodded. "Understood."

Lieutenant zh'Wann reached engineering and noticed the two guards posted outside the door were missing as they headed in. She hoped they would be enough and she could move on to other trouble spots, but hope was not a plan and she heard a pair of loud bangs inside the compartment followed by disruptor fire and screaming.  The door whooshed open at The Deputy's approach and her face went hard as chaos greeted her. Smoke and sparks mingled with engineers scrambling to find cover as one of the two guard's was screaming and writhing on the deck, grabbing his smoking abdomen. The other one was covering behind a support beam and firing back with her rifle. This was a lot less effective than it looked since she was also trying not to shoot her crewmates.

The Klingons had no such constraints and one of was using the body of an engineer as a shield against return fire while blasting away practically indiscriminately. Another engineer tried to get away and screamed as a mek'leth slashed his back and spun him towards his assailant. His suffering became much worse as the wicked blade came back up with practiced ease and plunged into his belly, eviscerating him. Another member of the engineering staff tried to tackle the sword holder and a quick flick of the Klingon's shoulder sent her flying into the railing surrounding the warp core with an audible thump. The Klingon smiled as he raised the short sword and prepared to plunge it into the defenceless woman.

Ida was faster as her phaser rifle snapped up to her shoulder and the sight picture in her exosuit helmet aligned with the target's back. A quick flick of her thumb raised the power setting from 3 to 6 and she pulled the firing stud. Three orange energy bolts sped across the engineering compartment, barely missing someone trying get away from the fighting. The sword holder had no such luck as his body arched from the impacts for a moment and he let out a silent death scream as his innards were fried. It was his last act standing as his legs gave way and he fell on the woman he'd tossed earlier, pinning her to the deck.

The hostage holder roared hatred as his comrade went down and he turned the pistol towards the Andorian.  Ida grunted as she a disruptor bolt hit her pouldron and spun her around while she fell.  Damage codes flashed on her HUD, and she didn't know where her rifle was, but all indications showed her armour was still in once piece and she rolled over as she pulled her pulse pistol from its holster.  Pulling herself back up against he master system control, the Zhen leaned up against the console and turned towards the other security guard who was pinned behind a bulkhead.  The ship shook from a hit and the console behind the guard exploded sending her sprawling to the deck, back filled with shrapnel. Clearly the situation was spiralling out of control.  They didn't have time for this and The Deputy took a breath before shuffling to the edge and taking a quick look around the corner of the control station.  The corner sparked as a shot came in her direction and she pulled back just in time.  Taking one more quick breath, the Andorian turned around knelt. She made a quick check on the power level of her sidearm before springing up and spraying phaser fire at the Klingon and his hostage.  The hapless engineer yelped as he was clipped in the shoulder by a level one phaser bolt and went limp.  The Klingon was also hit and the sudden loss of sensation forced him to drop his weapon.  He was so intent on holding on to his body shield that the suddenly unconscious engineer dragged him towards the deck.

Lieutenant zh'Wann quickly exited cover and moved towards the Klingons.  She covered the distance in a few strides and set the phaser to maximum stun.  Another Klingon was exiting and she fired at him, hitting him in the shoulder and head, bowling him back into the storage room.  She took one moment to pause and fired a burst of stun bolts into the downed infiltrator, sending into sleepy land for a long time.  Still, there was the rest of the room to clear and she moved quickly towards the storage room.  Her sensors told her there were a few more infiltrators inside and she fired at the door to cover her advance.  The left hand dropped to her stored grenades and she activated a stun grenade before tossing it into the room.  A whine burst through the room followed quickly by the sound of a couple of bodies falling.  Incredibly, someone was still inside and The Deputy charged in looking to take advantage of her momentum.  It was not to be as her quarry had been well hidden behind a crate and he practically threw it at her.  Ida grunted as she was knocked backwards and her pistil went flying.  Her instincts took over and she rolled then leapt up in case the Klingon tried to jump on her.  Instead, she found herself facing a grinning opponent who had pulled a d'k tahg.  "Finally, a real opponent, not these cowardly rats." Shohlogh challenged.  Ida didn't have time for this, but her pistol was no where to be found.  With choices running out fast, she pulled her combat knife and reversed the grip as her legs settled into a ready stance.
