Title: Day 03 [1930 hrs.] I Wanna Rock-n-Roll All Nite...

[Lt. Regiene “Reggie” Suder  | Personal Quarters | Deck 13 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] attn: Any and All!!

April 21, 2381
19:30
Stardate: 57662.91

It was unlike Reggie to run late.  She’d fought during the war and the need be punctual was paramount, especially when her unit could be ordered to launch on a moments notice.  Even being a minute late might mean the difference between life and death.  It was a pattern she had been forced to learn and by the time the treaty had been signed, it had become habit.

Which was why, as she was running late for the concert the concert she was to host an uncharacteristic frazzled feeling set in.  She wanted to make a good impression, she knew.  The crew of the Theurgy had been through the ringer in the battle to avert a Klingon Civil war, to say nothing about all they had been through before she had come aboard the mission logs from which she had not yet had the opportunity to catch up on.  She had hoped to put the program together on the holodeck but with the hour almost upon her, she couldn’t wait that long to set it up.  Getting her hair (https://i.pinimg.com/564x/a7/1e/f9/a71ef9f1b5584754f745e53845f08fe3.jpg) and makeup (https://www1.pictures.stylebistro.com/bg/Olivia+Munn+Makeup+Smoky+Eyes+NoHoWOmP-mLx.jpg) sorted had taken far longer than she had anticipated.

“Computer,” she said as she moved from the bathroom to her closet to pull clothes.  “Load holodeck program Suder Jukebox from removable memory and load configuration file.”

The computer beeped at her.  “Configuration file loaded.  Ready to accept input.”

“Ohhhkay,” she muttered to herself as she started rifling through her limited wardrobe.  She had not been aboard long, had brought barely a duffel with her, but in the time since she’d settled in, she had taken some time to replicate a few options for herself.

“Load genre; Terran Classic Rock circa late 20th century.  Select ten artists and generate playlist.  Sort play list by artist and shuffle within each artist stack. ”

“Playlist generated.”

The leather pants were the obvious choice, so she pulled them from the drawer.  They were not the easiest to put on since like most party clothes, they sacrificed convenience for ascetics.  She was fine with that.  The clothing was comfortable, gave her the look she wanted and a sense of confidence to boot, then the inconvenience of actually dressing was a minor one at that.  The leather creaked and stretched ever so slightly as she worked her legs in and adjusted them.  They fit perfectly, offering just enough compression to give her the shape she wanted without constricting her movement and Reggie was glad to have asked the computer to replicate them already broken in.

“Set venue; Terran, Earth, Congress Theater (https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/55246e7ee4b031e90a9087b1/1458250869960-NAM3TYGSWQ6290JLN7PP/congress-theater-33.jpeg?format=1000w) circa 2020.”

“Venue Set.”

She didn’t have many tops that she liked for this and she ended up rejecting more than she’d expected.  Eventually she gave up on finding a full top, instead opting for a black mesh crop top she could wear with just her bra.  If she hadn’t known better, she might have thought the mesh was designed to be worn with the bra.  She slipped it over her head and pushed her arms through the sleeves.  She clipped a chain to the loop under her bra’s left cup, crossed to the right, over her stomach, and wrapped it around the back of her waist, before clipping the other to a loop under her right bra cup, the result forming a loose “X” across her otherwise bare stomach.

“Reset balcony and configure for private party.  Set staff- two bouncers- nausican, male and four wait staff- orion, female.”

“Balcony reset.”

She stole another look at herself in the mirror and decided the overall look (https://i.pinimg.com/564x/4f/fc/3f/4ffc3f71585b3831866c07b24956df8a.jpg) met with her approval.  It was a new approach, but one she thought would grow on her.

“Insert randomizer subroutine, and custom welcome message Suder Gamma.”

“Protocols inserted.”

“Compile and save to removable storage.”

“Standby.”

Reggie took a seat at her desk, to slip on her knee high stiletto boots (https://i.pinimg.com/564x/06/41/82/064182986694ec705151fe83fe62fc78.jpg).  They closed with ease around her legs.  Carefully she put her feet down on the deck and took an extra moment to ensure she had her weight centered before she tried to stand.  She didn’t immediately fall down again, a victory in her book given that she hadn’t worn these kind of heels in a few months.

Just like riding the proverbial bicycle.

“Compile complete.  Program saved.”

She pulled the isolenear chip from her terminal, checked her hair and make up one last time in the mirror and brushed a stray hair back behind her ear.

She exited her quarters, her long slender fingers dragging along her desk and wrapping around her combadge

“Suder to Ms. Foster.  I’m heading to the holodeck now.  I’ll meet you up there, Katie.”

She closed the line and slipped the combadge into her pants pocket.

[Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02]

Her boots clacked on the holodeck grid, a stark contrast to the dull thuds she had gotten used to as she walked the corridors of the ship.  She had earned herself more than a couple of looks from random crew as they almost gawked at her look and she sensed their admiration and appreciation for what they saw.

Win

“Computer,” she said as she loaded the isolenear chip into the Holodeck interface.  “Load program Suder Jukebox.  Access configuration file and render.”

The computer beeped and after a moment the balcony of the venue hall appeared around her.  Gone were the rows of seating that the historical venue had, replaced instead by various tables, chairs, and couches laid out for a private event.  Even a smaller dance floor had been set out for their use.  Small lights were set out on the tables and in strategic locations providing enough light to socialize, but not so much as to ruin the mood of the show.  Two bars rendered next, one on either side of the balcony, each manned by two female Orions who would serve a bartenders and waitresses.  Unlike the Orion slave girls of the 24th century, these characters were appropriately dressed for the event.

Next to each bar, a spiral staircase allowed access to the main floor and it’s much larger dance floor.  Reggie doubted anyone would go down there, but if they wanted to, the option existed.  At the base of each staircase, a Nausican bouncer stood sentinel, preventing any holographic patron from coming up.  Sure, she could have programmed the holograhic audience to not try to come up, but this was a bit closer to realism.

With everything in order there were two things left to do.

“Computer, load pre-show preparation cycle and run program.”

Immediately, the static scene jumped to life as tech crews went to work setting up instruments and test mics and speakers, bartenders set out organizing their bottles and setting up the glassware, and holograhic concert goers started to slowly file in.

With nothing left to do, Reggie took a seat and waited to see who from the Theurgy crew would attend.

They were in for one hell of a show.

OOC - Okay everyone!  Here it is!    To be clear, ALL characters who are Both 1) Ranked no higher than Lieutenant and 2) Are not department heads are welcome to participate.  All characters can freely assume to have received an invitation from Reggie and/or Kate Foster on their personal terminals to this event.  If you write multiple characters who could attend, feel free to bring them.    Once people start gathering, I'll kick off the play list.  There's no major objective in this thread other than to mingle, chat, kick back, eat, drink, and be merry and this is a perfect opportunity for new characters to the ship to have an opportunity to meet some of their crewmates.  With that in mind, there is no set or assigned posting order. Enjoy!

Lt. Arven Leux |Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] attn: @P.C. Haring

Arven had struggled with ether or not he'd wanted to attend this party. There was so much that the Trill didn't want to risk, closeness, affection, bonding. But to heal, these were things that he needed to face sooner or later. And mingling at a Rock concert might be the thing. Since the venue was 20th/21st Century, Arven had looked up some pictures of outfits from San Francisco back then, and he'd seen a group of performers that well, he did like the look of some of the period attire. Very nearly going with a Cowboy look, no. He'd instead gone with his own choice in clothing.

And so it was that Arven found himself walking the halls of the Theurgy in large chunky leather boots, with zippers and studs placed excessively around them nearly up to his knees. Tight leather pants hugged his Powerful legs, fitting almost like a second skin in places when he walked the tight leather making creaking noises against his thick thighs. The chafing form tonight would be worth it, though. He thought they looked good on him. A black denim vest with silver studs along the seams, open revealing a torso clad in a white t-shirt that had to be three sizes too small that said, in what looked like permanent marker, "Fuck the music! Where's the beer?" This particular statement stretched to near unreadability over dense pectoral muscles. The profane nature of the words on his shirt is not helped by the fact that it hugged his muscular build to the point where the fabric would have torn if it weren't an athletic material with elastic properties akin to lycra or spandex. The tight elasticity led to the shirt being nearly translucent as it faintly revealed the series of spots that ran down his torso.

And so, Arven had become encouraged by some of the looks he'd gotten from his walk into the holodeck, a polite wink to some of the crew he'd passed. Arven enters the holodeck and looks around, noting the presence of the holograms and Reggie. The Doctor gave an almost bashful wave and smiles, unsure of what to say. His emotional state was one of mixed emotions, wary and nearly fearful of connecting with anyone, knowing he needed to. So he put himself on 'display' to try and strike up a conversation even if he failed at it. And so, Arven spoke up, taking a look at the Hostess for the evening, the words possibly 'heard' by her before he could even say them.  "Thank you for the invite, I'm Doctor Leux, but you can call me Arven."

CPO Victor vanVinter |Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02]

Victor knew that he was going to attend tonight's concert. The chance to catch up with some old faces, meet some new people., It wasn't one that he was going to miss. Hopefully, he'd run into Enyd there but wasn't sure if she'd come to this event. Maybe it was too much chaos? No, she'd be there if there was chaos afoot. Either way, Enyd or not, he needed to unwind. And he'd be relaxed while doing so. Victor had needed to replicate new clothes for this and had delighted in choosing his attire for tonight. He'd gone with 'grunge' for this concert, a flannel shirt in blue and brown, paired with a grey shirt underneath, both hanging loosely off of his lanky frame. A pair of jeans that were distressed and torn strategically, all set atop a pair of black Chuck Taylors. Some minor accessorizing in the form of a bracelet with metal studs in rows of Purple, white, grey, and black, a 21st-century callback to his sexuality when 'pride' had needed to be shown in one's sexuality for visibility reasons. That personal touch he liked and might keep for other off-duty attire. A few simple necklaces he put on, simple black braids that hung asymmetrically around his neck. And he'd made sure to mess up his hair a little and run it through with some gel to get the look to stick.

With a casual Ease, the tall half-Bajoran makes his way through the corridors and enters the holodeck. Looking around expectantly, it seemed he was one of the first few here. She spotted Reggie, whom he'd wave to, an eyebrow-raising at her clothing, she looked good, and that hair, The Betazed made for a stunning hostess. Seeing that A trill he didn't know was chatting her up, Victor felt his gentlemanly instincts kick in, and he headed to the bar, raising three fingers to the holographic bartender.

Victor approaches the duo with a trio of bottles of a Bajoran ale, something smelling strongly of spices. One of his favorites from back 'home'. Handing one first to Reggie and then the second to Arven, he smiles politely, taking up position in what would have been known as 'forming a circle' more of a triangle since there were only three of them for now. He wasn't speaking just yet, not sure if he'd interrupted a conversation or if Arven had just come in. Not that he'd heard him say anything, Victor had been focused on being polite, getting the drinks and all.

After a moment, Figuring 'the hell with it, it's a party,' Victor does speak up politely, fully intending to be polite. "Hope you like the beer, I think the bartender needs work, and they gave me three of my preferences, not the 'house' beer. I hope you all don't mind a bit of spice to your drink." The towering man offers his hand to Arven, smiling at the Trill. "Good to meet you; I'm Victor, Fighter bay ops, for now." He winked at Reggie at that last bit, feeling hopeful about a career change in his future.

[Show/Hide]

"Nah, I think you should go for the black leather pants." Ensign Clarksdale, acting as Sorek's fashion advisor at the moment, approached his team mate and friend and landed a well aimed, loud slap on the hybrid's behind. "They definitely highlight your butt way more than those denims." He added and could not help but grin. He knew very well that Sorek needed more time to get out of the proverbial closet. But he could not help himself; he loved to tease this man.

"Owen! Stop that!" Sorek replied with a giggle. He kept his eyes focused on his mirror image, trying hard not to blush. But to no avail. It seemed as if his RIO had a hand for teasing him just enough so that Sorek did not feel too uncomfortable. But he had to stay reserved. He was new on this ship. He did not want anyone to know about his secret fantasies. It was bad enough that Owen knew. But he trusted his RIO. He would never tell.

"Make me..." Owen replied with a purr in his voice. His lips were so close to Sorek's ear that he could feel his hot breath on his skin. He stayed there for a moment before turning and handing Sorek the leather pants. "No, seriously. Take those. And the leather jacket. You'll look perfect for the occasion!" He stated matter of factly. Of course, Owen himself had chosen black leather pants as well. But he went with a bordeux colored net shirt and a black leather collar to go with them, instead of the very clichee jacket.

"Yes, I guess you're right." Sorek replied and took off his jeans. He knew that Owen was starting to stare at his butt, once it was only concealed by tight, black boxers. But he did not mind. He actually liked that, a bit at least. "It's a great idea, this party. I only hope enough people come to make it a success. Lieutenant Suder probably has put a lot of thought into it."

Owen chuckled, still transfixed on the Lieutenant's features. "I bet she has. You like her, don't you?" It was a risky question, he knew that. He had learned quickly about Sorek's insecurities, especially regarding his own sexuality and women of the beautiful kind, when they met at the Tactical CONN Training Center Omega. Owen was not telepathic, far from it, but he was well versed in reading people's facial expressions and analyzing things that were said between the lines. And once he had a gut feeling, he approached the topics that he thought interesting. At least if the people themselves sparked his interest. And Sorek had sparked his interest on the first day of their training course.

"Yes, she's a great pilot." Sorek replied, oblivious of the fact that this was exactly not what Owen was interested in. He pulled up his pants and turned towards his RIO. His eyes, highlighted by a faint stroke of eye liner, focused on his friend's physique. Damn, he looks hot! He thought to himself, only to force the thought to get back into it's cage instantly. "Ready to go?" He asked and gestured towards the door. Owen - slightly amused by his friend's inability to confess to being attracted to someone - nodded and followed him. This he thought was going to be interesting.

[ Lt. Enyd Isolde Madsen | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] attn: @P.C. Haring  @Tae  @Lathaniel

As a playful song depicting the story of some bloke named Johnny B. Goode played, Enyd danced around her quarters as she readied herself for the evening’s festivities. It had been quite some time since she’d had the opportunity or the inclination to join such an event. And the invitation from two lieutenants she had yet to meet had been too tempting to ignore once she read it would be themed from old Earth. Truthfully, she’d spent an inordinate amount of time researching the clothing and hairstyles of the rock’n’roll era and felt the get-up she’d procured would suffice for the dress code indicated in the invitation.

Lowering one leg from the stool after fastening the garter belt, Enyd turned in front of the mirror to check the seams of her stockings (https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQmy7C6ekXxGNzCy0qwV0nnFWl_P6vajCAL5w&usqp=CAU). She smiled when she saw two straight lines traveling down the length of her legs, starting at the top of the stocking, attached to hips with a lacy black garter belt. It was most thrilling wearing such archaic fashion items, and Enyd blushed at the unsolicited thrill she felt as she stared at her own reflection in the mirror. Nude, except for a simple pair of black underclothes, the stockings, and red high heels (https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a1/9b/67/a19b67ac55d8fe2e97bdfa8f11f0edd3.jpg), her hair gathered in a deep side part, with pinned curls framing her face (https://archziner.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/pin-up-hairstyles-woman-in-heavy-make-up-red-lipstick-black-eyeliner-dyed-eyenbrows-fake-rose-in-hair-50-s-hairstyle-pearl-earring-birds-heart-necklace-black-top-shop-window-background.jpg)and a rose tucked behind one ear, Enyd almost didn’t recognize herself.

This new thrill didn’t go away as she retrieved the red petticoat and pulled it up over her hips. If anything, the layered combination only deepened the charge running in her veins. This wasn’t the first time wearing clothing from another era or another culture influenced her emotions or sense of self; over the years, she’d had to wear more than a few outfits that had challenged her sense of modesty but had worn them for a mission’s sake. Yet the context of this outfit was different, and it had been such a very, long time since she’d felt this type of emotional response.

A song about some sort of lace, was it Chantilly?, came on next as Enyd broke her self-study and resumed her preparations. After tucking her white collared, deep v-neck, sleeveless shirt (https://www2.pictures.itsrosy.com/mp/v_dmUMPX3HCl.jpg)into a high-waisted petticoat, Enyd plucked up the black “poodle skirt (https://rockabillybeehive.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/black-swing-skirt-high-waist-skirt-copy.jpg)” that would lay over the fluffy layers of the petticoat. Next, she fastened a thick white belt over the top. Her lips, shoes, and petticoat all matched the red of the rose, while the belt was just a subtle hue different from her white shirt. Her hair pulled back the way it was, there would be no mistaking the curve of her ears leading into a not-so-subtle point. She placed simple pearl studs in each ear, though she refrained from a necklace or bracelets.

Spritzing a mist of her favorite perfume, a blend of wildflowers from Montana, Enyd took one last turn in front of the mirror before leaving her quarters and heading towards the deck eight holodeck area. Despite the earlier jolt to her personal sense of allure as she’d stood in front of her mirror, Enyd fought a blush when she met people in the corridors on her way to the intended venue. She still wasn’t certain what the lieutenants’ meant when they instructed partygoers to “come on down to paradise city,” and while a certain diplomat colleague might think Enyd conducted the “crazy train,” Enyd had no concept what that meant either. All she thought herself certain of was that the evening’s theme was centered around classic rock and roll and she’d dressed according to that them.

Only, as Enyd stepped over the threshold into the Holodeck 02, she realized how the definition of “classic” could have some bearing on clothing style. After only a few seconds of study of those who had already arrived, it was evident that her definition differed greatly from the hosts. Enyd tipped her head up and moved confidently into the room instead of beating a quick retreat for a wardrobe change. The invitation had said rock-and-roll, and she was dressed for an era that started the trend of such music and cultural aspirations of non-conformity. Beyond that, she still felt good in her outfit, and since that personal satisfaction had been missing for so long, Enyd was uninterested in making a change.

Spying Victor, dressed more for the “appropriate” era, standing with a few others, Enyd smiled in greeting as she approached.

“Evening,” her eyes hastened over the others in acknowledgment before she shifted on her heels to take in the larger context of their surroundings, “this is quite a feat accomplished already.” Enyd tipped her head to the side, “Is this what was meant by ‘paradise city’ or is this the ‘crazy train’?” She looked around, a slight frown tugging at her lips when she saw nothing remotely train-themed.

OOC: Kate's look for the evening...[Show/Hide]

Finally a real chance to just cut loose.

Kate had been desperate for something like this, as her life had seemed to endlessly revolve around her career in the wake of very nearly ending it with a finality some three years earlier. There had been a spell here and there, where she’d fit in some rest and relaxation, sure, but nothing akin to what had been planned by Lieutenant Suder, or Reggie, as she seemed to prefer. Tonight would be one to remember, and Kate had every intention of living it to it’s fullest. She, and Reggie had just about invited everyone they knew on board, and Kate had even gone as far to hint that those invited could bring friends of their own, so long as they weren’t anyone who might cramp down on the potential fun. Basically, that meant anyone who’s collar carried more than two pips, or who oversaw the running of one of the ship’s departments. The kids had made sure their parents wouldn’t be around to interfere in the party. Besides, they were always having their little cocktail parties and get togethers in some secretive part of the ship without the common rabble around to judge them or their outfits. It was only fair now that they had found themselves left out of the evening’s activities.

Stopping a moment as she slung a leather coat over her shoulders, Kate imagined the kind of get together that might have included the Captain, and his Senior Staff, and knew it would’ve probably put her into a comatose state.

“Oh... oh, hey, Reg-- erm, Lieutenant Suder... umm, whatever.” Standing on protocol was one of those things Kate still struggled with, even all these years into her career as a Starfleet Officer. She was always unsure of when it was kosher to use nicknames, or first names, especially with regard to superior officers, of which Reggie technically was by rank. Peering about her new quarters, situated a safe distance from her brother, she wondered a moment if there was anything else she’d need for the night, spotting the pair of sunglasses she’d replicated to complete her look, resting on a nearby table. “I’m just about to roll out of my place, and head over there. I’m just running a bit late, as usual.” She snatched up the glasses in one of her delicate hands, feeling a little more confident about having had everything she needed after. “Got stuck taking care of Ensign Maier’s tennis elbow... again. I swear, if that girl throws out her arm one more time, I’m going to staplegun it back into place.” The disregard for patient confidentiality wasn’t deliberate, nor was it accidental, as it had become something of a meme among the Theurgy Medical Staff how often they’d had to take care of Kaylee’s sports related injuries, and Kate was pretty certain that a good portion of the rest of the crew were just as aware of her perpetual injured status.

“She’s coming tonight too now that I think about it. She can buy me a drink for making me late.” Digressing back to the point of conversation, Kate cleared her throat and started toward her cabin door. “Anyways... I’ll see--” it suddenly dawned on her, that Reggie had already closed the line, and that Kate was rambling on to no one.  “Great, now I’m talking to myself again. I’m turning into Commander Fisher. Wouldn't Hathev find that funny. Ugh...” She sighed as she exited her quarters, immediately stepping into a mercifully empty turbolift and inputting her destination which wasn’t all that far. Still, the privacy afforded her a moment to remember a few things she had yet to do in advance of being able to just have fun. She’d already reminded Vinata of the concert when she’d left sickbay at the end of her shift; similarly she’d said something to the members of her surgical team, whom she genuinely hoped might be able to attend. There were two people though, she’d initially invited, but hadn’t had a moment to remind, and they were arguably the two she’d most wanted to get a chance to hang with. “Thea, can you forward on a message to both Lieutenant Lance and Petty Officer LeBlanc, reminding them of the concert in Holodeck 02.” In truth, she wasn’t too worried that they’d forgotten, as both Tessa and Scruffy seemed to be better at remembering things than she was, but all the same, she figured it didn’t hurt.

[Message sent.] Thea replied simply.

“Thank you, Thea!” Kate smiled, a thought crossing her mind. “I hope you can make an appearance too, Thea.” She winked in no particular direction, though she assumed the ship’s AI would’ve picked up on it with some kind of visual sensor or other means. Reggie and Kate had felt it only appropriate that Thea be invited, since they had relied on her for so much, and it seemed like a good opportunity to get to know her some.

[ Holodeck 02 (https://uss-theurgy.com/w/images/1/10/30---HOLODECK.png) | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ]

Once the doors parted, Kate stepped in to the already running program and spotted a number of people standing around Reggie near the bar; of course they had beaten her to the punch. Mildly frustrated, and very apologetic, Kate jogged across the momentarily empty concert hall which was in the throes of staging in advance of the actual concert start time. Catching in the light breeze as she neared them, the long mesh hem of her skirt flittered about her slender legs; a minor departure for her, she’d decided against dressing in a more risque fashion so as not to scare away anyone. Upon laying eyes on the others, Reggie especially so, Kate realized she probably could’ve gotten away with way more than she was attempting. A minor regret, she was still confident enough that her comfortable choice would allow her the mobility and freedom she wanted so that she could enjoy a night of dancing, and her choice of black and white patterned Chuck Taylors doubled that promise. Additionally, Kate had figured she wore modestly uncomfortable shoes all day at work, she had more than earned the right to wear something that didn’t kill her feet.

“Hey!” She announced herself, holding up her right hand in a peace-sign as greeting to Reggie, Arven, Victor, Sorek, and Enyd. Of them, she’d only known Reggie and Arven, though she’d seen Victor at some point earlier and had recognized him. “Umm... I’m Kate... erm, Lieutenant Foster. Kate’s fine though.” She held out a hand to more formally greet the three she was least familiar with. “Thanks for coming. It should be a great turn out.” She smiled to each of them, slipping her sunglasses up to rest atop her blonde locks as she eyed each of them up and down in an obvious display. “...and damn! You all look great!” she smiled, winking to Reggie as means of hinting the success of the event so far.

“I reminded Thea that she was welcome while riding the turbolift. I’m hoping she’ll get a chance to stop by too.” Kate explained, stepping round to approach the bar. “Can I get one of whatever they’re drinking?” she waited a moment and accepted a cold bottle of Bajoran Ale before turning back.

“Hope you guys are ready to rock tonight!” she sipped her beer after raising it in salute to them.

Sorek had followed Owen to the turbolift and further on his way to the holodeck. This guy was making him crazy in so many ways, Sorek could not even point out every single aspect of the madness Owen caused inside his mind. Was it the fact that his RIO assorted a weird type of attraction on him? Was it that he constantly pushed his buttons about Lieutenant Suder? Or his questionable comments about hidden desires and the proverbial closet, Sorek allegedly spent his life in? Sorek was sure that it was a combination of all those aspects and still, this list was surely not complete.

And to Sorek's discomfort, Owen was right. The moments in which he was capable of allowing himself to openly and honestly think about his desires were scarce but intense. Was he really interested in men? Why was that so hard to accept? Why even try accepting it in the first place? And what in the universe was his damn problem when it came to interactions with the opposite sex?

"You ready, handsome? Or would you like us to stand outside the holodeck so all those superior officers can see how yummy you look?" Owen had forced Sorek's attention to shift from his busy mind to his friend. Followed by an affirming nod, both men had entered the holodeck.

"I'll go see the restroom and get us some drinks. See you in a moment."

Sorek had made his way over to the other guests and the hostess. Upon his arrival, Lieutenant Suder had already been joined by a few other crew members of whom he only knew one. That cute Lieutenant from the Oneida... He had thought and immediately scolded himself once more. Cute? That's a crew member. A doctor. Not some cute holo novel character. Get your shit together, man! His thoughts had barely shown in his face when he had joined Lieutenant Suder and the others.

"Hello everyone. I'm Lieutenant Morgan." He had greeted everyone and had instantly felt goofy. Was this right? Did they all call each other by their ranks or was this occasion one of those few events where one could drop protocol? He did not know and he was too insecure to deviate from a once set course in mid-flight. "And thank you, Lieutenant, for the invitation." He had spoken into the direction of his superior officer. He had not been able to but look her up and down. His cheeks had started blushing slightly, caused by both; his insecurity and his admiration for Suder.

When he heard the voice of another woman behind him, he did not hesitate and turned on his heel. He did not know er, but the arrival of this blonde beauty was perfect. Just in time to distract everyone from his awkward behavior, or so he hoped.

The night was early still, but already the party was getting started.  Arven and Victor had arrived almost simultaneously together.

“Glad to meet you, Arven.  I’m Regeine Suder, but I insist you call me Reggie.  Thanks for coming.  Should be a fun time."

Victor, ever the gentleman bought the first round and Reggie wondered if, on some level, he was trying to make up for the poor first impression he had made with her in the flight simulator.  She nodded in thanks as she took the bottle.  The beer was a little heavier than she might have expected, but it seemed appropriate for the occasion and she didn’t mind if the first hit her a little harder.  Great way to kick off the night.

“Thanks for the drink,” she said.  “I..uh…actually didn’t designate a ‘house’ brew.  I can still do that if you’d like?”

The next arrival struck Reggie as somewhat of an enigma.  While she was picturesque herself, the woman's style was about three decades, give or take, behind the times of the music they’d be experiencing tonight.  She shrugged it off almost as quickly as it hit her.  If rock was about non conformity, then this woman was rocking that mindset perfectly.  But then she asked about Paradise City and the Crazy Train.  Oohhhh it seemed like someone was going to get her classic rock cherry popped tonight.  She’d have quite the experience and Reggie decided she couldn’t wait to see her reaction.  Then she realized that the newcomer had not introduced herself.

“Oh I think you’re in for one hell of a night.  I’m Reggie Suder.  Nice to meet you,” she said by way of introduction, her voice trailing off, prompting for a reciprocation.

The group of them chatted for a few minutes before the doors opened again, granting Kate her entry.  The surgeon and the first person outside of the squadron, Reggie had met on the ship, commented on all of their choices of wardrobe and it gave Reggie a moment to take them all in herself.  Indeed they all looked fucking fantastic, each one of them showing their own style, their own expression of who they were in this moment.  She caught Kate’s wink, empathicly feeling her excitement.

“You don’t look so bad yourself, Katie,” she replied curious to see how Kate would react.  “I didn’t take you for the long skirt kind of girl, but you're rocking it.”

Sorek arrived next, introducing himself by rank.  Typical for she knew of him.  He’d been her student at TacCONN training, and now assigned to her wing.  The invitation had said to leave rank at the door, but if people wanted to refer to each other by their rank as a way of salutation, what did she care?

“Glad you could make it, Sorek.  Come on in, make yourself comfortable.”

She took a look around the group.  The program had been running barely five minutes and already the party was getting started.  Down on the main floor the holographic audience was starting to gather and given her experience with this program, Reggie suspected it was about five to ten minutes before the published show time.  Still plenty of time for more people to arrive, even if the music started on time which… it rarely ever did.

Oh yes… this was going to be one hell of a night.

Lt. Arven Leux |Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] @P.C. Haring @Ellen Fitz @Lathaniel  @Swift

Arven took the Bajoran ale from Victor with a smile given to the man. He just thought that Victor had style at the moment before the ale touched his lips. The moment it did, the heaviness of the drink, combined with the array of spices in it, and to him, the spiciness of the beverage made it entirely and wholly unpalatable.  It was all Arven could do not violently to expel the noxious fluid from his mouth. And yet Reggie and Victor were sipping it? How was that possible? Arven was quite nearly offended that anyone could drink such a thing, the waves of offense and disgust rolling off him like thick heavy waves in a roiling storm. Arven discreetly spits the sip back into the bottle instead of any showy actions that could give a wrong impression.

Before he can do anything about it, Kate and Enyd walk in. The two dressed so drastically different than it was amusing to him. Enyd looked dressed for a wholly different event, and that was puzzling to him.  His distraction is palpable as he shakes Kate's hand. "Good to finally see you outside of a work setting. I've been meaning to say hello to you and chat. However, if you'll excuse me..." He smiles politely, nodding to the growing group.

With a trained doctor's consummate professionalism, he smiles and bows his head to Arven and Reggie. "Love the clothing. And thank you for the drink, but It's not quite what I prefer. You'll understand if I get something else." That being said, Arven makes his way to the bar, with an urgent need to get the overpowering flavors out of his mouth. He gets something more suited to his sensibilities, something light and bubbly, fruity. Something that wasn't quite a Seltzer, but a human might consider as such.

Arven stands at the bar watching the others slowly trickle in, sipping his seltzer to get the taste of the Bajoran ale out of his mouth.  He gave a cheery wave to everyone that made their way in, spotting Sorek come in with his RIO, which made him smile. And he calls out to the man. "Hey, I see that you haven't gotten your ass shot off Chaos! Come have a drink, and bring your back seat too!"  A cheerful smile is given to the pair.

CPO Victor vanVinter |Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02]

Victor was about to say something to add to the conversation, immensely enjoying the aroma and flavor of his beer. While he was being polite and was certainly regretful of the poor impression they'd started training off with, this was just Victor being Victor.  The very least he could do as one of the first arrivals was to get a drink for the hostess of the evening.

And then in walks Enyd, dressed like it was the 1950's almost. The poodle skirt really set off her whole ensemble, and her being so anachronistically old-fashioned... no, there was amusement there. It seemed that no one had gotten the same interpretation of the unstated dress code. Prominent in Victor's mind was amusement with the varied attire and a deep-seated sense of love and admiration directed towards Enyd. There was something else mixed in with that, a sense of loss and regret, maybe?

He favors the diminutive woman with a loving smile and chuckles. "I think those are song names, my dearest Enyd. Though I'm not quite sure." he looks to Reggie for confirmation, hoping that he'd get it. He wasn't quite sure about much of the period's music, and it had taken some database searches to come up with an outfit. So most of this was new to Victor as well, but he'd seen Poodle skirts and had imagined that Enyd would have worn something so adorable. If they had coordinated, then he might've gone with 'Greaser,' but they hadn't, so he didn't.

"Anything I can I can get you to drink Enyd?" His tone of voice is light and cheerful then, and he looks to the others; spotting Kate, he waves with the freshly replaced new Cybernetic hand.

"Good to see you, Miss foster. Sorry that you had to replace this thing twice in as many weeks. Sorry, I wasn't awake for the first time, but whatever you had to do to bring me back was no doubt a heroic story all of its own. Still, I do apologize for trashing the arm on Qo'nos. I tried to keep it intact, but that sniper had other ideas." He had a cheerful tone to his voice, but it was clear that he was trying to make light of a far more severe situation with his humor. There was apparent emotional pain, but he'd been given a new lease on life and wasn't going to argue against that.

He Nods politely to Sorek and chuckles at the man. "Mister Morgan, this is a party; let's not hear any ranks here, yeah? Call me Victor, if you want. You're one of the wolves right, pretty sure I've seen you around. and This lovely woman in the Poodle skirt is Enyd Madsen." Victor seemed about to say more, very nearly adding 'my fiancee' to the end there, but he caught himself just in time. They hadn't worked that particular issue out just yet.

To Reggie, he smiles and chuckles. "Might not be a bad idea. This stuff is pretty potent, with lots of spices and herbs. Bajoran cuisine isn't for everyone, but you seem to enjoy yours, though yes?"

[ Lt. Enyd Isolde Madsen | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] attn: @P.C. Haring @Tae @Lathaniel @Swift

Enyd turned to greet the newcomer, Kate, and noted that her outfit looked more akin to most of the others already in the holodeck. When Kate raised her beer in salute, Enyd grinned and nodded in return, her hands presently empty of any beverage. A lieutenant Morgan came in next, his body language and vocal tones all over the place, reminding Enyd of a younger Victor when she’d first met him on Vulcan. Her thoughts straying to her former fiance, Enyd glanced over in time to catch his explanation of the lack of railcar memorabilia. Enyd laughed at her own silliness. She still had no intention of changing her outfit to fit with the correct time period as she felt comfortable and confident in her present outfit, but it was good to note the difference in case there was a repeat concert in the future.

“Heavens me, they would be song titles, wouldn’t they?” Still chuckling, she added, “I’ll take one of those Bajoran ales, actually. I like the heavy spices. Thank you, Victor.” Enyd returned her attention to the jovial host. “Pleased to meet you all. I am only previously acquainted with Victor, so thank you for sharing names, though I agree that rank should stay at the door. I am Enyd, diplomatic corps and recent transfer to the ship.” Enyd looked around the holodeck again, letting out another husky chuckle. “And poor interpreter of the definition of ‘rock’n’roll’ apparently.” She gestured to her outfit when her roaming eyes returned to the small group. “I wrongfully assumed a few decades prior, when the term was first coined, and obviously the style was quite different. But, I’m excited to experience the music and styles of this evening’s program.”

When Victor returned with her drink, Enyd thanked him by way of lightly squeezing his forearm with her other hand, dropping it back to her side immediately after. After taking a tentative first sip, her eyes widened in delight, and she took an almost unladylike gulp.

“Very refreshing,” Enyd added as she raised the glass in Kate’s direction, a belated return salute. “Will there be dancing here as well, or purely concert-style?”

“Stupid meetings,” Mickayla groused as she did up her shoes. “I would have been ready an hour ago if they hadn’t wanted my opinion on Martok’s ruling about Gorka’s former supporters. And then trying to get me to intercede on their behalf to try and get them clemency. Fuck that, they and their friends tried to kill me multiple times.” Absently, Mickayla noted that she hadn’t even thought about what shoes she was going to wear tonight. She had just replicated the heels to go with the skirt and top ensemble she had picked out. Standing, she looked at herself in the mirror, admiring the deep cut in the top that exposed her. There was a necklace that had been in the research, but the Klingon hadn’t liked it. Now though, she admitted that she should have gotten something to fill in the gap.

“A problem for another time,” she told herself before striding out into the common room. She had been quite busy the last 3 days and hadn’t really seen her Gorn roommate except in passing. Even then, Sithick had seemed off and Mickayla decided to make a point of catching up with the giant. With that done, she left her quarters and headed for the turbolift.

[Show/Hide]

She almost hadn’t come. Had almost decided against it. Several times since reading the invitation and who it was from. During her day, when she had been focusing on her project for the new defensive weapons system she was developing. Even as she had been getting ready to attend. It was illogical. And yet, the only response to that concept was that it was Reggie. The one time that they had met during their mutual time at Starfleet Academy had almost been enough for T’Less to want to release herself and embrace her emotions. And that had been when she had been in control and not emotionally compromised as she was now. Could she afford to risk that now?”

And yet, she found herself walking down the passageway towards the holodeck, her newly braided hair swaying behind her. It was another thing that she had decided to do that morning. Instead of the loose hair that she had had, it was now tightly braided against her scalp and then the ends were left to hang down her back. It would require a little more maintenance but that was why the Theurgy had hair specialists.

Ahead, a turbolift opened and out walked a Klingon that T’Less recognised as Chief MacGregor. Given the chief’s attire, T’Less surmised that the Klingon had the same destination at the Vulcan.

“Good evening, Chief,” T’Less greeted politely, as the Klingon fell into step beside her.

“And to you, Lieutenant,” Mickayla replied. “Excuse me for saying so but I didn’t think a rock concert would be your kind of thing.”

“Perhaps it isn’t,” T’Less noted calmly. “But I was invited, and it would be rude of me to refuse without due cause.” It sounded reasonable and logical as she said it but she was not completely sure that it was the truth. Further consideration on the matter was forestalled by the pair’s arrival at Holodeck 02. The doors opened at their approach and granted them entry into the program.

“Nice,” Mickayla remarked as she took in their holographic surroundings. “I’m going to check out the bar. Would like to accompany me, ma'am?”

“Ah yes,” T’Less replied after a moment. Her eyes, much to her consternation, had automatically begun searching for their host’s location. She found her talking to other members of the crew, apparently welcoming them. “That would be nice.”

[Lt (JG) XamotZark zh’Ptrell (Lt. Zark) | Personal Quarters | Deck 8 | Vector 2] Attn: @P.C. Haring @Tae @Ellen Fitz @Stegro88

It had been a couple of days into the mandated shore leave for the crew and Lt. Zark hadn’t caught a single wink of any of it.  The previous couple of days had been an exercise in administration and recovery as far as she’d known.  The first day really didn’t count as after making it back to the ship, she’d pretty much almost collapsed until Marcaida had caught her and helped her to sickbay.  After helping her out of her armour and carting it off, Dr.Hernandez had engaged in some routine but serious surgery to fix the various concussions and contusions that had been afflicted on her in her last misadventure.  This had also incidentally involved fixing her nearly broken nose after it’s unfortunate encounter with a Klingon forehead armour.  After that had come a day of sedation as Dr.Hernandez had insisted she rest whether she wanted it or not.

With her wounds mostly healed, Dr.Hernandez had discharged her with a stern injuntion to go to her quarters and not do anything strenuous.  Upon more mature consideration, it wasn’t a bad idea, especially having been on what amounted to extended combat operations for several days.  It was a welcome change as she entered her quarters.  There had been a hostile hiss when she’d first entered. Saucer, her cat, was not happy.  It had taken several minutes of cooing to the cat and tempting him with treats before the cat had come out and promptly settled into snuggling Lt. Zark to make up for lost time.  The rest of the day had been rather anti-climactic by comparison.  It mainly involved remotley pulling the tac logs from her armour as she settled into writing the After Action Reports for the missions to Breen and Qo’nos.  This sort of work hadn’t been physically strenuous, but had exacted it’s toll mentally as she’d found herself gripping the table and breathing hard at one point when reviewing the portion where she’d been shot by Ambassador Visser.  She didn’t know how long she’d been staring at the terminal  while Saucer had looked at her worriedly.  She’d managed a wan smile before going back to comforting the cat.  The cat wasn’t really convicnced, but had given into the rubbing happily.

The second day had passed and she woke to the third with her sheets twisted into knots and Saucer  sitting on the sofa keeping an eye on her. I totally need to do something else. Seeing the general invite to a music event on Holodeck 2, she quickly resolved to go.  The general inventory of damaged, destroyed, and used equipment from the missions took up most of the rest of the day and by the time Lt.Zark had to get ready, she’d had enough of all the admin work.  Choosing an outfit had taken some time, but then applying makeup took a little longer.  Applying a darker blush to her cheeks, sparkle gloss to her lips, and eye liner, she figured she was good for a night on the town so to speak.

Making her way to the holodeck, she didn’t draw as many looks as she thought she would and wondered what about the calibre of style that was headed to the event.  Taking a steadying breath as this was really her first social occasion on the ship, she stepped through the threshold and was immediately impressed.  It wasn’t what she preferred in music, but it sounded  fun and that’s what counted.  Seeing a familiar mangled yet irreverent Bajoran at the bar talking to a very attractive dark haired woman, a small wave of relief washed over the Andorian.  She wasn’t going to the event a total stranger.  Though the Klingon did look a lot like MacGregor.

Heading to the bar where vanVinter was regailing several others on the merits of Bajoran cuisine, she turned to the bartender first for a drink. ”Talisker Dark Storm, neat and chilled.”  The bartender didn’t even bat an eye as she brought the drink over.  Taking a sip of cold Skye smoke, caramel, fruit, and sea salt; she was about to say hello to Victor when her eye caught the host, and made her way over to greet her.  ”Hello, my name’s generally too long to pronounce, so you can call me Zark and thank you for setting this all up.”

[Lt. Rhys Williams| Junior officer's quarters | Deck 13/Vector 01 | USS Theurgy] Attn: @P.C. Haring @RyeTanker @Tae @Ellen Fitz @Stegro88

Rhys was restless. His shift had finished a while ago, he had gone through his appointments and done all the paperwork. Once it had been all done and he had returned to his quarters the restless feelings at hit him. He had only started working again the day before. Returned to duty by Hathev. He had been excited to get back to work, and now that he was done for the day it was frustrating because he just wanted to do more.

It occurred to Rhys he was perhaps overcompensating for having been relieved of duty, but this was at least a less destructive side of himself than had been in evidence before. So, there he was sat in his quarters practically vibrating with uncertainty on how to best spend his time. First, he had tried reading, there was an excellent book on the Three Kingdoms era of China he had been eager to read. However, his eyes kept slipping off the page. He eventually cast aside that option. Next up was model making, there was a model of a Constitution Class he had been eager to make for some time… No, his concentration shifted again. He eyed his guitar on its stand, he picked it up and strummed a few cords. Perhaps there was that song he had been meaning to learn. That lasted a bit longer, about 10 minutes before the guitar to was discarded.

Rhys was soon pacing around his quarters, trying to think of something to do that did not involve just heading back to his office and inventing work for himself. No that wasn’t healthy, it was then his eye caught the PADD by his bed. There had been that invite.

[ Lt. Rhys Williams | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02]

So, Rhys found himself stepping through the doors of the holodeck. Time for more stomach knotting relaxation. Rhys had dressed in a non-descript way, tight black jeans, a simple red T-shirt under a leather coat. Looking at some of the other people present, he had a feeling he might be a little underdressed. Rhys was not really good at being off duty and it showed. There was a group that had gathered close to the bar. The only person he recognised at all was Lt. Zark. She had been a patient of his at one time. He did not greet her however, as he wasn’t sure if she would want reminding of their sessions or not. Everyone else was very much new to him. He hovered awkwardly at the edge of the group not really sure what to say or even if he should interject at all. He looked at the barman, oh dear choices… “Gin?” He said with an uncertain voice. The barman grunted and poured him a drink.

Rhys sipped grateful and took in the room. It was certainly well created, and the music was not bad either. He looked at the group around them talking and couldn’t help thinking what an attractive bunch they were. Rhys contrived to look as much a part of the group as possible but did not have the courage to interact yet.

Reggie took another sip of her drink as she considered Victor’s question.

“I do,” she said.  “After the war, I did a tour in the Bajoran Sector.  Had plenty of opportunity to sample Bajoran cuisine.  Still haven’t found a good place for Hasperat since I left though.”

At this point, Enyd introdued herself and Victor headed off to the bar “Pleased to meet you, Enyd.  I’m also fairly new around here.  Don’t worry about the look.  It’s a few decades early, yes and if you want some pointers I can offer some.  But it looks amazing on you, it’s fun, and that’s what tonight is about.”

Victor returned and after Enyd took her sip they returned to the conversation at hand.  “Really whatever you want to make of the night.  There is a dance floor over there,” she pointed behind her where a floor had been set down, and a floor sized decal of the Theurgy Logo had been applied.  “But if you’d rather sit and listen to the music or socialize while the concert’s going on,” she motioned to the seating in it’s various configurations, “feel free as well.  Only one rule… have fun tonight!”

As the conversation continued, Reggie glanced over to the clock hanging on the wall at the bar.  It ready 20:15.  Yup… fashionably late starting as any good show ought to be.  She took a look around the balcony.  A good number of the crew had shown up and she suspected that more would trickle in as the night drew on with itself.  The advantage of not requiring an RSVP was that neither she nor Kate had to take the time to sort out a guest list.  The disadvantage of not requiring an RSVP was that neither of them really had any clue as to who to expect.  Reggie had hoped T’Less would have been here by now but she could not hold the show up for one person, especially given the possibility that T’Less had changed her mind over the past day or so.

“Computer,” she said, as she turned away from the group for a moment.  “Curtain.”

Reggie turned back to the group that had gathered but the closing of the holodeck door caught her eye once again.  She could not see the two new arrivals as they were back lit by the lights of the corridor.  But when the doors closed, she saw a Klingon woman she didn’t know yet, walking in with…

“T’Less,” she muttered under her breath.

“Um… excuse me a moment,” she said turning back to the assembled group.  She stepped away, eying T’Less and her companion only to be stopped by an Andorian who had introduced herself as Zark.

“A pleasure, Zark!  I’m Reggie,” she said, her voice sounding a bit more rushed than she’d intended. “I’m glad you were able to make it.  How are you doing this evening?”

Over Zark’s shoulder she watched T’Less cross to the bar and with her back turned to her, Reggie noticed the change in her hair.  Normally she didn’t go in for cornrows, but they looked good on her.  A moment of indecision took the Betazoid as the desire to extricate herself from this conversation and see the Vulcan fought with her desire to not be rude to  Zark.  She settled on social nicety, knowing there would be plenty of time to catch up with T’Less later.

[On The Stage | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ]

Part 1 - Ozzy Osbourne

As the crowds grew restless over the hour ticking past 20:00 with no start to the show, the entire house goes dark, lit only by the red emergency exit signs, useless for a holodeck program, but accurate to the era, and the small table lights scattered through out the VIP balcony where the Theurgy crew are congregating.  Even the private bars have gone dark.  Silence holds the auditorium for the briefest of moments, and then as if a single collective thought has entered the consciousness of the attendees, the crowd starts to cheer… to roar in anticipation for what is to come next.

Despite the cacophony a single voice rises above all the others, a booming voice amplified by the auditorium speakers fills the room.

“AAAALLLLL AAAAAABBBBOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!”

The voice dissolves into laughter as the bass sounds, strumming  two notes followed by another, and another,

“Ay Ay Ay Ay Ay”

The Vibraslap cuts off the voice again and the bass gives one more hit of the two note beat before the main guitar riff begin and the lights come up on the stage revealing Ozzy, his hair long down to his shoulders, longer than many of the women aboard the Theurgy.  Despite the darkness, he wears his trademark sun glasses. Behind him his band dives in, letting the music take them away.

“Crazy, but that’s how it goes….”

The show had started.

OOC - Okay all we’re in it now!  The set at the top is for your knowledge and for helping to organize the pacing of everyone’s posting.  Not sure how long we’ll keep Ozzy on stage, but at some point, either @Swift  or I will advance the show to the next artist.  Enjoy and have fun!!!

Enyd grinned at Reggie and shook her head, "Thank you, Reggie. I’m perfectly happy to maintain the look, but if you do this again, I’ll be sure to dress to the era. Unless,” she smirked, “you were born under a mischievous moon and your next ‘rock-n-roll’ evening IS in fact from the 1950s, and we have now begun a playful game of mismatched eras between us.” She added a wink to ensure that the attractive young woman understood her comment had been made in mirthful teasing. “In which case, I also look forward to the wardrobe mayhem.”

Her eyes had been traveling over to the aforementioned dance floor when she spotted Chief coming in with a Vulcan woman she’d not become acquainted with yet. They were both dressed brilliantly for the theme, and Enyd hoped she’d be able to seek Chief out to thank her again for the fighting tips in the holodeck and introduce herself to her Vulcan companion. Enyd knew it would take time, and events such as this, before she grew more aware of the faces and names of her crewmates, and she made a mental note to thank Reggie again for helping make that happen by arranging this event.

A fair-haired man she’d also not met before also wandered into the room then and sidled up to the bar not far from them. He was dressed smartly in black and red and was thus far giving off a similar aura of equal parts social anxiety and interest, as Sorek had been at his first approach to the group. Reggie left to greet others, momentarily speaking to Zark, the beautiful Andorian newcomer. Enyd gave Victor a head nod, indicating her intention to engage the solo man by their side.

Enyd opened her mouth to introduce herself to him when suddenly a loud yell erupted from the stage, startling her. Thankfully, only a few sloshes of liquid escaped her glass, and none of it coated her clothing, or, from what she could tell, that of the man she’d been about to speak to. After shifting closer still, so he would understand her intention to engage and hear her over the din of the music, Enyd paused to take in the audacious laughter of the holoprogrammed singer of yore before an addictive two-note line took up after the laughter finished. Though her clothing bespoke of an era of completely different music, Enyd wasn’t wholly unaware of this kind of rock-and-roll. That being said, however, she’d never heard this song before and had to stand still until the intro was finished and the singer launched in the song proper before she could come back to herself enough to have a proper conversation.

“Wow,” she looked at the fair-haired man with wide eyes filled with a fascination for the music and the ambiance of the room now that the concert had started, “that was quite the intro, wasn’t it?” She reached past him to snap a napkin from the bar and quickly cleaned up the side of her glass and her fingers. The mess cleaned up, for now, Enyd returned her smiling gaze to the man and held out her hand for a traditional Earth greeting. “Enyd Isolde Madsen, diplomatic corps. And you are?”

CPO Victor vanVinter |Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] @P.C. Haring @Ellen Fitz @Lathaniel @RyeTanker @Stegro88 @Swift

Victor kept an eye out, watching all of the newcomers to the party, smiling as others talked around him, and he stood there next to Enyd, feeling quite happy with his lot in life right now. And speaking of life, there was zark, walking dressed in an exciting outfit. He waves to her but doesn't call out since the music had just started out with the blasting tones of Ozzy Osbourne. he taps Enyd on the shoulder and points over to Zark. "That's Zark, and she wound up being the acting CO on the mission I was on the other day. She managed to save my ass, and then I repaid her by saving hers. It looks like she's gotten all of the bloodwine and gagh out of her hair, so that's nice."

Victor gives a mysterious smile to Enyd and looks over to the slightly shorter blonde man, and extends a hand to the man. "Good to meet you. I'm Victor vanVinter, deck crew. Not sure I saw you before I got put on ice; I'm guessing you're one of the strays we've picked up?" His tone of voice was cheerful and friendly, paired with a warm smile. However, Victor, contrary to Rhys's first impression, might have been was not so much an attractive man. While he might once have been called handsome and still carried a rogueish charm, it was pretty clear that the left side of his face was practically melted, and his cybernetic eye glowed with an almost creepy light in the holographic club. All in all, if it weren't for the friendly smile on Victor's deformed face, he'd make for a reasonably decent specter of dread.

Meeting Kate, she shook her hand with his cybernetic one, and winks. "You do wonderful work, I have to give you a hand. I mean, you've given me two already." Yep, the pun was absolutely terrible but it wasn't like he cared, he had fun making it. All in all, Victor approved of the music so far, tapping his foot along with the beat and idly humming along while not talking.

Lt. Arven Leux

Arven was at the bar, starting the process of getting drunk for the night. As if he could get drunk on synthahol, it kind of prevented that in most people. And sadly for Arven, he was indeed most people. spotting T'Less and Mackayla heading to the bar, he moved over and spoke to the bartender, grinning at the hologram. "A trio of Four horsemen, please."

The hologram poured the trio of shots consisting of the four whiskeys, Bourbon, Tennessee, Scotch, and Irish, which Arven presents to the Vulcan and Klingon with relish.

"Drink up, ladies, Doctor's orders!" The music started then, and Arven jumped, almost spilling the shots. Even though he'd grown up on Earth, the archaic human music still startled him sometimes. Couldn't they play something more soothing? Ah well, it was a party and a new experience. He saw Reggie talking to Zark and just minded his own business there, and he might as well try to be a little flirty with the Klingon; she looked kind of cute to him. It would be a fun night regardless, though he hoped the music would get better.

The young Lieutenant sent an awkward smile to everyone in the group. He felt out of place, but he knew that it was not only a social but also a career-related imperative to attend such events. And at least internally he had to admit that being out and around people was something he enjoyed after his strange in-between position aboard the Oneida.

He turned to Arven upon being adressed by him. The Doctor sure had his own, unique way of expressing relief about his potential patients well-being. But he smiled and nodded. "Yes, I seem to have had a guardian angel out there. But it was a damn close call and a lesson learned." He looked around for his "backseat" and saw him talking to one of the holographic bouncers. Then he joined Arven at the bar and ordered a stiff Gin Tonic. As stiff at least as sythahol could be.

"Of course, you are right." He replied to Victor after being told to leave rank outside. He had expected his social skills to not be refined enough to differentiate between formal and informal. But this would not stop him to try and have a good time. "I'm Sorek and my backseat goes by the name Owen. And he is obviously trying hard to convince this bouncer over there of something." He chuckled and for once it seemed completely natural.

Sorek was not stupid, of course. He knew what his RIO was up to. He had urged Sorek to tag along, has helped him choose a outfit and prepared him by playing just the right music. And now he was held up talking to a hologram in order to subtly force Sorek to find his way into the crowd on his own. And his plan seemed to work.

Listening to some of the conversations, he held on to his glass and slowly emptied it. The awkward feeling of not belonging here was slowly disapating and when Arven jumped to the first sounds of Crazy Train, he smirked.

"Not your type of music, Arven?" He asked, taking up the rhythm with his fingers. "I think that's the guy who ate a living bat once. I don't really know what to make of that. Earth must have been a weird place back then."

Owen meanwhile seemed to have assessed that Sorek was getting into his own variant of a party mood and nodded towards the bouncer, leaving him alone. He had pondered the thought of trying to get him to leave his post and follow him to the restroom but decided against it. Real meat would definitely sate him more than a hologram. So he slowly made his way to the dance floor, already on the look-out for other enthusiasts.

[ Lt. Asra Tek | Holodeck 02 | Vector 2 Deck 08| USS Theurgy ]

It was a safe bet that at any point Asra's quater's would be a mess however in the build up to the party it would be more accurate to describe it as a bomb site. What few clothes Asra had brought with her were scattered around, discarded, while she stalked around in her underwear, hair still damp from showering. As she paced Asra was talking to herself and the computer various outfits appearing on the display before being quickly passed over. "Ummm, classic rock, classic rock, sooo 20-21st century, come on think outfits, uhhhhhhhh Leather. Computer bring up Leather outfits from the database" Being honest with herself she had not expected this upon arrival to the Theurgy, no sooner had she been allocated logins for the central network when a new message appeared inviting her to a classic terran rock and roll concert of all things. Various designs began appearing on the screen eliciting a range of reactions from blanching to blushing, "Computer stop, stop." Asra paced over sitting on the edge of the bed with a thump head hitting her hands, "Dammit Tobiar why couldn't you have been slightly more interested in this era. ummmmm, come on Asra think......... Computer, pull up designs for Leather jacket and trousers, tag with classic rock and roll" As the screen filled with much more appropriate clothing Asra stood up quickly digging through the discarded clothes before pulling out a plain black T-shirt. She walked over to the computer, pulling the tshirt over her head, before selecting a pair of loosish looking leather trousers and a leather jacket with only a few studs, "Computer, Fabricate selected designs". Getting into the outfit was easier than she expected and soon Asra was attired for this party though forgoing any new footwear for the sturdy boots that she arrived in.

[Show/Hide]

The route to the holodeck was supprisingly quiet for Asra, but not in a good way. Any crew that she saw kept eyes on her suspicion rampant in their gaze, voices hushed as she passed by. This crew had clearly been through a lot, Asra knew the barely restrained enthusiasm and curiosity that ran rampant on most Federation starships and for that to have curdled into this warieness and suspicion said more than any briefing about the situation. Arriving at the holodeck she took a moment to check her shirt was tucked in before proceeding through the door and into a grand hall of some kind.

As the door opened Asra was hit with a wall of sound, despite the volume it took only moments for her to identify the music as Ozzy osbourne an a few more to quell the instinctive reaction to leave. She really did not belong at this sort of party but a chance to meet with a new crew was too valuable to simply pass up due to a slight discomfort. The big advantage of arriving slightly later however was already evident as she slipped her way towards the bar, with everyone distracted by the music and each other already passing through was suprisingly easy. She came up to a less crowded portion of the bar already fighting the urge to find a corner and loose hersefl in her pad, " A Lime and soda water please" Asra asked the bartender taking the drink and holding in up to her face, shielding herself, as she scanned the room.

[Show/Hide]

Not for the first time since finally being persuaded to move away from the quarters he had shared with the Neotin family (given that they were all quite dead, and he was no longer Ash'reem, but human, genetically) Sarresh found himself pacing around the much smaller room, missing the in ground tub that the previous accommodations had held. Yes, he agreed that this change was healthy. That didn't make it easy. It made it something he had to adjust to. Yet another adjustment, in a series of them that dated back to the moment he set foot in this misbegotten time frame.

Never mind adjusting to that mess which was Azurite Station. But we are not thinking about Azurite Station. No, no we are not. Repressing a shudder, he ran his hands over his hair and looked and the invitation currently displayed on the general purpose interface across the room. He tried to remember if he had encountered either of the Lieutenants that had sent the invite to him, and wondered just how many people had received it. Quite a few, I wager.

"This is a bad idea, he said to no one in particular as zipped the jacket mostly shut. Not for the first time, the scruffy looking former amphibian wondered if the ships' computer was having a laugh at his expense, looking at the outfit that had been replicated for him. It was supposedly 'period appropriate.' And he couldn't argue with that. He had memories of Earth in the pre-Third World War era, sketchy, but there, slipped loose from the Memory Engram Programming he'd endured. Probably not something that would threaten the Temporal Prime Directive, but at this point it was so hard to tell.

"You can explore that later, Morali. With the proper help." A friendly face, with a welcoming smile and concern behind her eyes flashed in his own mind before he set those thoughts aside, and rubbed the well-worn stubble across his cheeks and chin. Unlike the quarters, he'd just about gotten used to the facial hair. And having hair that was so dry. Bones had become almost second nature now.

Scowling at that thought, he tugged the sleeves of the brown leather jacket he wore, over top a  black button up shirt, and set above a deep grey, almost but not quite black pair of denim pants - called 'jeans' according to the historical write up Thea had provided for him when prompted with the question, "Computer, what the hell do I wear to a Rock and Roll concert? And what is Rock and Roll?"

An illuminating hour and a half later, the still slightly twitchy Temporal Affairs officer had decided to wear what was suggested, and attend the concert. With one final irreverent thought that perhaps he had been invited by accident, he shoved his hands into his pockets (along with a replicated pair of sonic earbuds designed to dampen the effects of egregiously loud decibel abuse) and made his way to the designated holodeck.

[ Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ]

In the end, Sarresh didn't even have to leave the vector he was quartered on. A short trip up a few levels, and then across the vector a ways, and soon enough he was walking toward the holodeck doors. They slid open and he winced, getting a second hand bout of someone wailing about getting aboard before the doors shut behind a short haired woman that looked passingly familiar. He was sure he had seen her somewhere, probably at a briefing. Maybe.

In any event, the noise that had escaped the holodeck was enough warning for him to remove the small ear buds, and fit them in, adjusting the devices so that, when he entered he would still be able to hear those around him, as well as the music, without any negative impact. Ash'reem had relied partially on echo location. Though he was now fully human, he took his hearing seriously. Squaring off his shoulders he walked in, feeling the sound smack into his body, but able to focus on the conversations around him as he took in his bearings as the archaic rock washed over him, the base seeming to thrum across his body in a surprisingly pleasing fashion.

The concert hall was certainly impressive, in a classical sort of manner, if Sarresh understood the time period right (and of all people he, by all rights, aught to. He was sure he'd been to Earth in the 21st century at some point, a surety he had not had a few months ago).  Hunching his shoulders he followed short haired figure from earlier, just catching a glimpse. There was a lot of leather on display in the area that he pegged to be full of 'crew' and not holograms, though he did turn his head to follow an orion waitress as she sauntered about. He gave a sniff, and shook his head.

That is a hologram he muttered. The medical assistant robot V-Nine had helped him regain a few of his previous, Ash'reem abilities, through cosmetic surgery and a few well chosen implants. His olfactory capacity was much closer to his original state. Detecting no scent at all from the green screen woman allowed him to discern the photonic nature of her existence. In short, he cheated and chuckled to himself over it, as he approached the bar in the private balcony clearly set aside for the 'real' patrons of the night.

Placing his hands on the bar (the fingers of the left clearly tapping in time with the music), the former Ash'reem looked at the collected rack of bottles, and then the reflections of the crew in the mirrored walls of the balcony. He arched an eyebrow, recognizing a few faces from various missions. No fast friends. But then, most of his friends were dead. "Melancholy much?

Rolling his eyes at himself in the mirror, and smiling at how they seemed to swirl in a kaleidoscope of colors, as they had once before his transformation, Sarresh glanced to either side of him, seeing no one he knew terribly well and simply ordered one of the myriad of drinks his late drinking partner had introduced him to, on a variety of drunken evenings in the immediate wake of the Battle of the Azure Nebula.

"Maraltian Seev-ale (https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Maraltian_Seev-ale)," he asked, watching as one of the green skinned holograms pulled a bottle off the shelf and poured the light blue beverage into a squared off, medium sized glass with no handle. Nodding, he took a sip, sighing softly as the mint flavored elixer coated his tongue and made the back of his throat tingle. "To absent friends," he whispered, toasting his own reflection before turning to brace against the back of the bar and glancing over at the others, inadvertently mimicking the Trill woman he'd followed into the bar, save that he held his drink in both hands in front of his chest, and not his face.

Attn: @Scavenger01 @P.C. Haring @Tae @Swift @Ellen Fitz @Stegro88 @Lathaniel @Griffinsummoner @Pierce @Auctor Lucan @Juzzie @Brutus

Zark’s flashed Reggie a toothy smile.  ”This is amazing!  I never imagined an even like this!” The crazy singer from a bygone era welcomed everyone to the show and Zark’s smile got a little wider as her antennae began to circle more rapidly.  Her fingers also began unconsciously tapping her glass and her head began moving from side to side in sync with the beat laid out by the drummer. Picking up where her thoughts had been interrupted, Zark continued, raising her voice to be heard over the music.  ”Closest I got to a concert was a date in the academy years ago!  Only thing was all the stuff they played was way to moody! This is way more exciting and damn happier too!”

Taking a sip of her Scotch, Zark was able to see another person enter the Holodeck and realized Reggie was probably going to be busy as hostess really soon. ”You must quite new on the ship, though I’m quite new myself and I’m sure you’re going to be more busy meeting and greeting soon. Come on.” Casually linking her arm in Reggie’s, Zark guided her new ship mate towards vanVinter, while generally pointing out her newness by showing where Lt. Rhys, her counselor, was standing at the bar and telling that they had come over together from the Cayuga. ”Pretty much only other person I really know.”

Stopping next to the casually tapping Chief, she unlinked herself from Reggie and placed a hand on vanVinter’s shoulder and leaned on him slightly. ”Don’t know if you’ve met this irreverent maniac, but this gentleman here is one of the best people to have your back when the shelat hits the fan.”  Zark soon began regaling the tale of Victor’s driving through the First City on Qo’nos, going on about crazy hair pin turns while driving, and screaming a war cry of some sort while driving a buggy they were in off a bridge, barely pausing to take drink before ending with  ”And in the end, even after being shot and leaking all over the place, he still comes out and pulled my ass out of the fire after some jerk had the nerve to shoot me!  Damn if this man isn’t as brave as he is crazy!”

CPO Victor vanVinter |Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] @RyeTanker @Ellen Fitz @Lathaniel and @Scavenger01

Victor had his head on a swivel, his eyes practically buzzing in their sockets as he looked about. He was content to stand and listen to the music. But he was enjoying it. And then zark comes over and slaps a hand on his shoulder. His cheeks rather quickly turned red then. With Enyd at his side, she'd get to see the blush slowly growing on his face then. It was terribly awkward for him to have his heroics recounted, though there was a first time for everything, and try as he might, the man could not find a way to argue any of it.

"Prophets take you Zark, you make it sound like I am the sole reason that mission succeeded." He sighs and raises his Ale in a toast.

"To Rivard and Keyah ,who cannot be here tonight. And To you, the one that took command and made the toughest of calls." Victor takes a hefty swig of his ale and swishes it about his mouth before speaking again.

"All I did was drive and shower us all in bloodwine and wistan-gagh. Which reminds me Zark, it looks like you got all of the Targs blood out of your hair." He winks at that and looks down to Enyd, smiling at the diminutive woman.

"Zark here was the combat medic as originally assigned, and she wound up taking command after Arisaka bought the farm rather early on. Though Zark did far more than I would have to save that medal chasing prick." His words filled with a vitriol that Enyd would have never seen in him before. Clearly, there were some strong feelings regarding the fallen Lieutenant.

"So, what are you thinking about the music anyway, Enyd? This is a bit before my time, but not bad. My father listened to old stuff like this. I will never understand how a cultural anthropologist goes from university work to running a freighter. And dad never gave me an answer." He rolls his eyes and sips more of his beer then, enjoying the flow of conversation and the amusing company.

Victor glanced over to Owen, Arven, and Sorek, giving the trio a polite nod. "Good to meet you both. We might wind up flying together in the near future. However, I'm not a Valravn pilot. I love the look of them, though I have concerns about their structural integrity if I'm honest. That hull design they have is beautiful, but one good hit, and you've lost a whole engine and half your ship." Victor seemed about to go off on a rant about starship design when the muscular Trill in the profane shirt seems to spot a newcomer waving her over. Victor turns is scarred visage to Asra, giving her a ghastly yet friendly smile. truth to tell, Victor was far more friendly than his horrific appearance would let on.

Arven Leux

Arven was happily sipping on his Ale and looked pretty impressed at victor when Zark was recounting the tale. So that was how he'd gotten the disruptor burns on his back and gotten his cybernetic hand nearly shot off. It looked like whatever gods he prayed to had forgotten to put in any quit when they made him.

He leans into Sorek with a smirk and gestures to Zark, keeping his voice low. "How much of that do you actually believe? Because that's a hell of a story. The fact they did all of that without any real air support can't be true, can it?" He shrugs a little and speaks in a more normal voice.

"Nope, not my type of scene, and I grew up on Earth, I'm actually 'from' San Francisco pretty much, well USS Rutledge if you want to get technical, but same thing." Arven seemed about to say more when he spotted more spots. The slender, short-haired woman walking in all in leather, now that was a new sight for him.

Arven raises his Ale to Asra in greeting and smiles broadly at her. "Evening, come join the circle. This is Victor, Enyd, Zark, Sorek, and Owen. From what I gather, Victor here is some kind of action hero, and Zark has got to be a Bard in disguise. Sorek and Morgan are both two of our Fighter jockeys and..." Arven looks over to Enyd, lifting an eyebrow. "I'm afraid I have no idea what you do. My apologies. I'm new to the ship as well."

[CPO 1 Scruffy LeBlanc | Corridor | Deck 08 | Vector 2] @Swift @Stegro88 @Pierce

Scruffy was late.  There was no other way to describe it.  He had gotten caught in Engineering with some “priority” repair that naturally fell on one of the lowest seniority engineers to fix.  Still, it was done and he was officially off-shift.  After quickly stopping by his quarters to freshen up and put on some appropriate clothing for the event, he had rushed right out.

He was very appreciative to get the invite from Kate to the concert.  It sounded like fun, and he knew they definitely needed the chance to relax.  Relaxing together sounded even better.  Still, his tall frame made an interesting sight thudding down the corridor toward the holodeck.  He had decided to go with a bit of a mixed bag this evening: Polished pointed-toe boots with a lifted heel under black denim pants that fit the lines of his legs, and a black shirt (button-clasp, open to reveal a fair bit of chest); the whole thing perhaps just a size too tight for what would be “decent” in any other setting.  His hair was swept back but still wild enough for his nickname.

When he arrived at the holodeck, he had a bit of a flush from the haste with which he had arrived. But he stopped just inside the entrance, took a breath, and looked around for Kate.  He was soaking in the environment, letting the music from the stage set the rhythm of his movements.  Spotting her bright hair in the dim light, he sauntered over to the bar with a little spring in his step.  Seeing her already engaged in conversation, he simply took a seat, hummed to the music, and gave her his trademark smirk when their eyes eventually met.

[ Lt. Asra Tek | Holodeck 02 | Vector 2 Deck 08| USS Theurgy ]

Asra's slow scan of the room was interrupted by the sight of another trill staring at her glass raised, a quick nervous glance to either side confirmed that he must be talking to her so with a swallow for courage Asra dropped her glass back down to chest height and shuffles over to join the circle. As she moves closer she scans the person to invited her forward, looking him up an down. Clearly the man worked out if the tightness of his shirt was anything to go by, probably in security or maybe a pilot.  Asra's scan also revealed the answer to her unasked question, of why he was inviting her over,  as it revealed his own spots trailing down his neck. Joining in the circle, Asra's eyes moved on to the other humanoids around the circle preparing for the barrage of names that was surely about to begin.

Fortunately Arven began to introduce everyone, easily labeling all of the faces around the circle;
First up was the scarred Bajoran, clearly the man had seen some action if the severe facial scarring and missing eye where anything to go by but the friendly smile definitely softened any shock of his appearance and earnt him a shy smile in return even as Asra's eyes moved over to the next one.

Eyes tracking downwards Asra was blessed with a complete juxtaposition, where Victor was hard lines and Scarring Enyd was smooth lines and casual beauty accentuated by just a hint of make up. The very different design choice in clothing also stood out and even as she moved on asra squinted slightly trying to recall what era Enyd was wearing fashion from.

Even as she came over she had heard the end of the very energetic explanation of something by the Andorian that was leaning on Victor. While not taking a step away from Zark Asra moved her shoulders back slightly shuffling a bit closer to Arven and back to get some distance from the boistrous and animated andorian.

Finally Asra's eyes landed on the most normal one of the party, the human seemed to be hanging back a bit enjoying the atmosphere as he sipped his drink, Asra tried to send him a smile, as a fellow introvert forced out, but it came out as some grimace, smile hybrid.

Now somewhat introduced Asra let the conversation lull before remembering that now she was supposed to introduce herself "Hi, I'm Tek, Asra Tek" fortunately any remaining conversation was quickly swept up again as Arven began explaining the roles of everyone around the circle. Asra stared up at him, suddenly realising quite how much taller than her he was, face slowly morphed into curiosity, he'd been very keen to introduce everyone else but somehow had forgotten himself, oh well , he probably would do soon. Asra's attention returned to the circle frown still on her face even as her eyes kept flicking back and forth trying to track the conversation.

Still more and more crew members were joining the party. Sorek's concerns that this event might flop were completely unrealistic, as it seemed. All the chatter around him forced Sorek to focus on the few people adressing him directly, mainly Victor and Arven, who seemed to be the heart of this part of the event.

Turned to Victor, he nodded. "Pleased to meet ya. And even though I can understand your concerns, I think the design looks hot as fuck. When I was told that I was assigned to one of them, I had a hard time not to faint from happiness." Of course he was completely exaggerating, but the joy he felt was indeed quite high. "In addition, the sleak design might make our enemies out there think that we are toothless. At least until they get their butts roasted, that is."

Just after he had finished his response, Arven leaned in and adressed him. The breath of the doctor made Sorek feel a tingle in his stomach. He sincerely hoped that the man did not notice. He turned his head, subconsciously hoping for a second to face Arven close up before he turned away again. But the Trill had already moved back. "Well, I don't know, doc." He replied. "Miracles happen. If you and I were to go back to the times on earth in which this here" he gestured around the room with both hands "was real and en vogue and told tell the Terrans of those times that only a few hundreds years later mankind would be travelling to all quadrants of the galaxy, they would never believe us. And yet, this miracle is true." He giggled, well aware of the fact that this was complete bogus. But in a way he was getting into the mood to party.

While the focus of Arven and the others shifted, he noticed that Owen had returned for good. He turned towards him and smiled. It was a short smile, not revealing much to an outsider. Owen on the other hand knew Sorek well enough to interpret it. My friend, it was a good idea to come here. Thank you!

[ Lt. Enyd Isolde Madsen | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] attn: @Tae  @Lathaniel  @Brutus  @Stegro88  @RyeTanker  @Juzzie  @Scavenger01

Enyd’s eyes darted back and forth over the newcomers as well as those who had already been within their huddled group near the bar. It was enlightening watching how everyone subconsciously adjusted their body language or vocal tones depending upon whether they spoke with someone they knew or someone knew. Enyd was content to watch and listen for the time, deciphering the subtle cues people gave off often without realizing it in their body language. It was curious how many within the holodeck appeared to be either the socially awkward type, here to stretch their “wings” so to speak, or they were the socially domineering type, on their A-game whenever surrounded by others. From the way they stood to their choice of drink, Enyd took note of the little things and filed them away for later perusal if the opportunity ever arose. When Morali came in and immediately ordered a drink from the bar, Enyd nodded towards him, still thankful for his work at the Great Hall. Though it was yet to be decided whether he had appreciated her work in particular, likely he’d at least not been bored.

The banter between Zark and Victor brought her attention back to the closer group, and a single eyebrow rose at the sudden shift in Victor’s tone of voice. She knew she was not the only one who had changed because of life and circumstances, so it would be foolish of her to assume Victor was the ever-happy bloke she’d known years ago.

“It sounds like quite the adventure nonetheless.” Enyd nodded towards the effervescent Zark, a smile playing at her lips.

When Arven introduced the group to yet another newcomer, the attractive Asra with short-cropped hair, his pause on her position had Enyd smiling.

“Chaos wrangler, or instigator, depending upon the situation. But truth be told, Arven,” after a quick sip of her drink, Enyd’s smile grew, “I’m in the diplomatic corps. And I’m just as green around the gills as you in many ways, been here a matter of days, and still learning the ropes.

The music caught her attention again, and Enyd shrugged at Victor’s question, “I’m rarely disappointed with music as usually there’s always something to be appreciated. Even if the appreciation is when it’s over.” She threw a playful wink towards Asra with her comment before looking towards the stage again. “I don’t know how you’d go about dancing to this kind of music, though unless you consider bouncing up and down to a beat dancing, in which case this is perfect.”

She went to take another sip but frowned. Her earlier unladylike guzzling and subsequent sips had rendered her glass empty. Holding it up with a sigh, Enyd gestured toward the bar.

“I’m going for something heavier. Anyone else need a top off? Happy to help” Waiting for their replies, Enyd nodded then moved to the bar and placed the orders, including her own request for an Andorian mule.  While she waited, Enyd smiled at the Chief. “Nice to see you again, Chief, and may I say again how spectacular you were back in the Great Hall. Even with the threat of the Infested bearing down on us, I wanted to give a standing ovation to your performance.”

The drinks placed before her one at a time, Enyd immediately seized her mule glass and took a sip. Her eyes closed as a wave of nostalgic delight washed over her. Even with the near-death experience that had rendered her looking almost zombie-like for a time from exposure to extreme temperatures, Enyd had adored her time on Andoria and dearly missed the friends she’d made while training there. Opening her eyes again, Enyd looked to the others standing nearby. Again she knew some while others were still a mystery to her.

“Good evening to you all,” she raised her glass, “I’m Enyd, diplomatic corps. How are you finding the music?”

[Lt. Rhys Williams| Junior officer's quarters | Deck 13/Vector 01 | USS Theurgy] attn: @Tae @Lathaniel @Brutus @Stegro88 @RyeTanker @Scavenger01 @Ellen Fitz

Rhys took a sip of the clear liquid with its accompanying slice of lime and sighed happily. Not as good as the real stuff but not bad. When the intro to Crazy Train began. There was a slight jump but then the corners of his mouth turned up. Ah someone clearly appreciated the classics. A bit of Pink Floyd would not go amiss but this was a good start as far as he was concerned.

Looking ahead he saw not everyone took the sudden call from Ozzy as well as he had. She seemed to be dressed in an even more archaic fashion than some of the others. It suited her though. Though she seemed to spill a little of her drink. However soon it was his turn to have a little start, as the stranger seemed to approach him. He gripped his glass firmer, his other hand plunged into his pocket to distract from the overwhelming desire to fiddle with something. She made a comment and Rhys knew he would have to respond. He tried to calm himself. “Oh.. um yes. Definitely.” His mind prodded him to say something a little more intelligent. “Um, the musical equivalent of a gut punch.” He wasn’t sure if that was quite the phrase he had meant but he’d said it now it was too late.

She introduced herself, no rank was indicated but then this was an informal greeting, so perhaps he should drop that to. He took her hand trying to keep his hand from shaking. “Oh, I am Rhys Williams, Counselling department.” He said the sing-song nature of his accent making it clear he was a native of Wales. This was going well, he had made a comment and introduced himself without humiliation, maybe he should quit while he was ahead.

However, while he was wondering if he should slink off another stranger appeared. Rhys was above average height but the man, who introduced himself as Victor, seemed to tower over everyone around him. His face was heavily scarred, and he had a cybernetic hand of some description. Many people might have been intimidated by his scarred face and cybernetic hand, in truth Rhys was intimidated far more by the social interaction. Rhys was a counsellor; he had interacted with Starfleet Personnel who had suffered life altering injuries on a regular basis.

“Um Yes I suppose I am” He responded weakly to Victor’s comment about him being a stray. Feeling he had to contribute something else for completeness’ sake. He nodded in Zark’s direction. “I was Chief Counsellor aboard the Cayuga.” Victor then seemed to address someone else he did not know.

It was not long before Zark appeared and began excitedly regaling them with tales of Victor’s exploits. Interestingly it seemed like Victor was uncomfortable with attention being called to his role in the mission. There also seemed to be a great deal of anger and pain to some of his words. Rhys had to mentally slap himself not to go into work mode when he was meant to be relaxing. Still, he was a compassionate soul and he hated seeing others suffer. Soon Victor’s attention shifted again, and Rhys felt himself drifting to the edge of the conversation. He stood observed smiled and commented where appropriate. Though now he was wondering if Victor at some point would need to speak to someone. Though it would be rude to ask about that in this kind of situation.

Then there was a trill called Avren. A striking looking young man, with Eynd, Zark and Avren around him he felt a little like he was an outsider at a supermodel’s convention. So many attractive people. Finally, another person caught his eye. A Trill and simply by her demeanour he could tell that here was another introvert. She gave him an awkward smile which he returned no less awkwardly. Before she introduced herself as Asra Tek. No one else seemed to have greeted her directly, Eynd threw a wink in her direction. Rhys raised his hand and waved then looked faintly embarrassed at having done this. Why did he wave to her? “Hi Asra, I am Rhys.” He tried to say in as friendly and confident a voice as possible.

It was time for the big night. The party of all things and Tessa was not about to skip out on that. Her time was scarce, although come to think of it, they were on leave right now despite being in orbit of Qo'nos. But that was beside the fact. She was invited to this shindig by her good friend Kate who was one of the many throwing this party. Not that Tessa shied away from one of those types of events when the opportunity presented itself. She just hoped that her clothes stayed on no matter the amount of alcohol she consumed.

Knowing the event was coming, she replicated herself a little semi-formal dress with a crossover pattern over the chest, braless and in a somewhat girly color of salmon. It was near flesh tone which would be fun for her compatriots trying to decipher if she indeed was nude or simply testing their vision. Regardless, she'd placed the dress on herself and stood before a full-length mirror to straighten any wrinkles that may have appeared in throwing it on.

She tapped her console and keyed in an inquiry inviting her friend Lauren along since she was new aboard and likely had no one she knew. When she approached, however, a chime hit her door frame.

"Come!" Tessa yelled as she got her hair placed how she wanted it. Somewhat messy but cute nonetheless.

From outside came her friend Lauren Pierce, already dressed up and ready for the party. "Hey Tess! Damn girl, you look hot!"

"You don't look so bad yourself!" Tessa said taking in the redheaded woman's visuals. She was wearing an open red top with a black short skirt flowing and displaying her long model-like legs.

"Are you ready for this party? I know I am if you are."

Tessa nodded and took her friend's arm in hers as they exited Tessa's quarters and headed towards Holodeck 2 for the party.

Moments later the Holodeck door opened and the sound of music blared within. They glanced about the atmosphere of various crew at various stages of party attire and dress. Tessa stared about, furrowing her brow as she looked for a familiar face which was hard to do amongst the sea of crew and artificially created characters to add to the scene before them.

"I wonder where...." It was at that moment she saw her friend Kate from across the way. "Hey Kate! It's me and Lauren!" She yelled above the noise in an attempt to get her friend's attention. From the sight, she could see Scruffy had already made it too.

"Ready for this Tess?" She said with a smirk on her paled face, flowing red hair before her as she readied herself for the evening of cutting loose.

"Yep!" Tessa yelled as they ran towards where the other blonde woman who also happened to be the host was standing.

[ Lt. Alana Pierce (https://uss-theurgy.com/w/index.php?title=Alana_Pierce) | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] | [Show/Hide]

Meanwhile, at Alana Pierce's quarters, she was stuck in the indecision of sorts. She sat back in the chair of her desk as she looked at the holo projection on the screen imagining her in various states of dress. Not wanting to embrace the womanly styles that she was told to do so by Stellan Foster at her counseling session, she settle for the option of using the computer to interpolate her look for the evening despite not wanting to display her female visage more than she had to.

"Ugh....fuck. Why oh why universe did you have to do this to me." Her somewhat southern drawl escaped her lips. Frustration clearly set in but she knew she had to partake in this party as to give the appearance that nothing was wrong and that she could let loose if she so chose it. She just preferred the company of work and her assignments anymore over the ability to participate in crew leave.

It was down to a red dress with some golden hemming above the chest, which had she been a male, she would have been all over this woman in a heartbeat. Hell, even as a female she'd likely still be over this woman in a heartbeat. But, she also was torn with a less than formal but clearly female attire of loose-fitting tan khaki, with a sleeveless black collared turtleneck. Damn womanly hormones making her actually somewhat want to try the dress. She opted quickly for the black and khaki outfit and a pair of shades upon her head. If she was going, she wanted to be comfortable. Her mind was ready as she'd ever be for the events of the day. With any luck, it'd be without drama.

Taking a last look around after she hoisted the clothing on her shapely body, she headed out in the direction of the Holodeck.

Within a short while later, she arrived at the opening archway of the Holodeck and promptly headed for the drink bar to seat herself. Pulling her sunglasses over her eyes, she sat down at the nearest stool, straddling the leather material, and ordered herself a rum and coke before staring into the abyss of the room.

[Lt. Regiene “Reggie” Suder  | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] attn:  @Tae   @RyeTanker   @Stegro88   @Ellen Fitz   @Pierce   @Swift

Reggie chuckled after Zark introduced her to Victor.  “Actually he and I have met and yes.  He is proving to be quite the surprise.”

She raised her glass toward the Bajoran, before turning her attention back to the Andorian.

“I’m glad you’re enjoying the program and I hope you have a hell of a night.”

She excused herself and took a look around.  More crew had arrived and Reggie knew that it wouldn’t be long before the group started to splinter off into smaller groups.  She would absolutely return to the party in short order but first she really needed to say hello to T’Less and her companion.

The two were still at the bar, seemingly enjoying their solitude and as much as she wanted to pull them both into the party, she knew it would be better to let them come in on their own.  Still nothing wrong with a little bit of encouragement.  She did not know the Klingon by name, only by reputation as she’d heard that the woman had somehow played an important role in the goings on down on Qo’nos.

“Hey,” she said as she sat next to the Klingon, intentionally putting some space between herself and T’Less.  “Glad to see you guys made it.  I’m Reggie Suder, by the way,” she said more to the Klingon than to the Vulcan who already knew her well.  “When you’re ready, feel free to come and join the conversation.  The more the merrier!”

She put her empty on the bar and ordered another bottle for herself.  While she waited she took a look and noted that the party had kinda migrated more towards the bar.  Someone, it looked like Sorek, had stepped over to the dance floor, but the majority of the assembled crew had remained near the drinks.  Reggie turned, leaning back against the bar as she watched and listened and as she did, a very sexy looking redhead entered and made her way to the bar as well.  She’d taken a seat on the far side of the bar from Reggie, and the Betazoid watched as the human tucked into her drink and seemed to stare off in the distance.  She was about to head over and introduce herself, but Enyd made her way over, ordering a new round for herself and others and commented on the Klingon’s performance in the Great Hall.

“I’d heard something about that,” she said to the Klingon.  “I’d love to hear the story if you’re in a mood to tell it.”

Haring @Tae @Lathaniel @Ellen Fitz @Stegro88 @RyeTanker @Juzzie @Scavenger01 @Brutus @Griffinsummoner @Pierce

Sipping at the Bajoran Ale in her hands, Kate was happy to just hang out in the periphery of activity as more guests continued to arrive after her, populating the already crowded Chicago Arena, though these people were decidedly real as opposed to the holographic approximations surrounding them. First there was the exceptionally handsome  Lieutenant Morgan, who Kate could have sworn she’d detected a bit of a blush to his face upon greeting Reggie, an endearing and very cute moment she couldn’t help but smirk in reaction to. Then again, Reggie was the sort of vixen-esque woman who could elicit such a reaction with little effort, something Kate might’ve harbored a small measure of innocent jealousy over. Still, she admired how quickly the Lone Wolf had managed to settle in aboard the Theurgy, and how she had so quickly made friends, though there were likely some holdovers from Oneida that weren’t necessarily new friends. Yeah, it wouldn’t have been far-fetched to say that Kate was growing to admire the Betazoid pilot and hoped that she and her would become increasingly good friends.

“Oh... oh yeah, I just figured I’d play it a little relaxed tonight.” She explained as said pilot drew attention to her ensemble for the evening, a fair bit conservative considering her usual preferences for such an occasion. It wasn’t that Kate wanted to appear prudish tonight, far from it, she’d just opted for something a little more reserved so as not to scare someone she was hoping to impress, or rather, two someones. “But I’m not the only one out of uniform by the looks of it.” She winked in the direction of Enyd, whose appearance so distracted a greeting Arven, that he nearly shook hands with the air in front of Kate. Giggling as the good Doctor excused himself to retrieve a beverage more suitable to his tastes, his presence was soon replaced by the giant with a prosthetic hand, otherwise known as Victor, to which Kate smiled warmly up at. “Good to see you too, Victor! No worries about it, I just hope the new hand is working well enough. Not interfering with any aspect of your personal life?” she jested, sideways glancing at Reggie as though she were making some sort of a tease about men and their hands.

“Oh, there’ll definitely be dancing.” She answered Enyd’s question, knowing well that she’d not be able to stop herself from indulging in the activity.

Once more, she was snapped back to the moment as a voice broke the noise of the sound techs and their incessant tinkering; it was Reggie, officially setting the concert into motion with a command prompt, and Kate turned to watch as the scene transitioned into one of activity, rather than the apparent limbo it had been mired within.

A moment later, a pair of stunning ‘alien’ women stepped into the holodeck, evidently making their way to the bar. A Klingon and a Vulcan, whom Kate hadn’t immediately recognized, but then again there were likely to be a lot of people in attendance she didn’t directly know. She did wonder though, if they had been invitees of Reggie, or if they were incidental guests that word of the concert had gotten around to. Tangerine hued-eyes trailing after the pair as they sauntered past, Kate blinked as a new voice spoke up, drawing her back to the small, gathered group she had been a part of, and there stood another ‘alien’ whom she’d not known. “Oh... hey, sorry! Hi! Nice to meet you, Zark?” she repeated, hoping she’d not heard wrong, as the simulated stagehands were finishing up with the acoustics of the arena, making it difficult to hear clearly. “I’m Kate!” She cast a softly sweet smile to the beautiful Andorian, followed by a cursory examination of her attire for the evening. “No worries. It was all Reggie, really. You look great! Thanks so much for coming!”

Taking another sip of her beer, Kate zoned out a little as she returned her gaze toward the doors that led into the arena, hoping to see a particular pair of faces enter through it sooner, rather than later, or at all for that matter. Her heart skipped a beat for a faint moment, as she almost mistook the movement of another entering person, dressed in a simple t-shirt and jeans, for who she was waiting for.

In addition to the loud noise of the crowd, the lights had dimmed in advance of he start of the show.

As the digital crowd excitedly screamed in reaction to an ear-splitting holler from an amplified musical voice, one which Kate recognized instantly, the petite chief of surgery spun on heel and watched as Ozzy, in all his youthful glory took center stage in the auditorium, a microphone clutched in his hands held right up to his parted lips as the familiar lyrics of Crazy Train began to escape them. “WOOOOOOOOO! Yeah!” Kate screamed out, overcome by sudden surge of adrenaline, her delicately slender hands going up in the air with nary a delay, one still cradling a bottle of beer, the other with extended first and forth digits in the traditional sign of non-verbally saying ‘you rock’. It didn’t take long for her to start bobbing up and down on the balls of her feet in time with the stinging chords and beat of the drums. This was an excellent choice of opening act, she immediately realized, and though she and Reggie had discussed their favorite artists prior to the events of tonight, Kate had little idea of what decisions the pilot had made regarding the setlist.

From there, it didn’t take long for her to lose herself in the excitement of the moment, being inexorably drawn toward the stage and the surging digital crowd as they danced, head-banged, and moshed to every whim of the legend of rock performing before them. In the chaos of it all, she was shoved about, but that was to be expected in such a venue, and even though it had resulted in her losing her beer, Kate beamed with glee at being able to just let loose. One song led to the next, and Kate grew increasingly disconnected from the gathering of additional guests behind her. It wasn’t that she didn’t care to meet new people, or that she was being deliberately ignorant of them, but rather she’d simply been lost in the sea of activity. When they’d reach an intermission, if there was to be one, Kate figured she could take the opportunity to go around and offer greetings to them then. After all, this was to be something of a festival of performers, and as such would go on for quite some time.

If only Scruffy and Tessa would show, the thought lingering on in the back of her mind as she let the ‘Prince of Darkness’ besiege her ear canals with vocals like only he knew how to.

Remembering how she had wandered away from the group a little while later, she turned back with a gleeful smile evident on her face and gradually made her way back to them, though they had for the most part dispersed to enjoy the evening with their preferred partners. “This is awesome!” She commented aloud to no one in particular, her voice barely audible over the loudness of the music. Lost to her, had been the entrance of one Scruffy LeBlanc, though as she scanned some of the new faces around her, she caught sight of a mop of hair which could only have belonged to the aforementioned systems engineer. Narrowing her eyes, she approached him slowly as they managed to lock gazes from across the venue. The brightness of her expression increasing in luminosity as she drew nearer to him, pointing a teasingly accusatory finger in his direction when she felt she was close enough for him to hear her over the music. “You’re late!” She stopped in her advance, trying to play it up, but when her assessment of his attire trailed down and then back up, she dropped the façade and crossed the last few steps between them with some haste, and planted a soft but lingering kiss against his left cheek.

“But you look so damned hot that I’ll let it slide.” she added prior to pulling back, a soft whisper against his ear meant solely for him to enjoy as it tickled his lobe. Once she'd pulled away though, she grinned, starting to dance in place before him, swaying her hips side to side commensurate with the rhythm and tone of ‘Mama, I’m coming Home’, wanting to give him a show of her own attire. “Can I get two shots of Jim Beam?” She ordered from one of the digital bartenders as they approached her and Scruffy, Kate winking to her real companion once the tender went to fulfill the order. “Any word from Tessa?” She asked him as the tone of rock-n-roll behind her accelerated and grew far more aggressive in advance of what would be Ozzy’s last song before he’d shuffle off and give way for the next act. Before he could answer though, the bartender placed two wide-mouthed shot-glasses of the amber-hued liquor on the counter in front of them, and Kate instantly grabbed one of them to throw-back, leaving the other for Scruffy. Slamming the empty glass down, she nodded to the digital bartender as way ordering another round while the burn of synthehol made it’s way down her esophagus. “I wonder if she’ll bring her friend Lauren; they seem to have a history together, and I think she could use some fun too.”

And, as if on cue, there they were, Tessa and her crimson-haired friend scampering over to where Scruffy and Kate were situated at the bar, the latter of which called out to announce her arrival. Turning as she heard herself called, Kate just about stopped in place when she saw what Tessa was wearing, her mouth going agape in awe of just how incredible her fellow blonde looked in the sheer cut dress she was wearing.

“Whoa!” She said aloud, casting an awestruck glance back at Scruffy in amusement, and to gauge his own reaction.

“Oy... ohlright, that’s it for me. I’m magonna fawk-awf ‘fore they ask me to keep goin.” Said Ozzy into the microphone once his set had finished, and the crowd had given him some modicum of a silence to speak in. Though as he began to step away, a stage-hand ran out to whisper something into his ear, and seemingly taken aback, the holographic Ozzy looked him up and down with incredulousness in his face. With the microphone still turned on, albeit not held up to his lips as he was speaking, the projected voice of the singer could still faintly be heard over the speakers. “Whadd-you mean I’m the fawking Emm-Cee? Where is... shut it, SHARON!!!” he hollered as he stormed off stage, the whole scene playing out in the background as the digital crowd laughed and screamed in reaction to what they were seeing, it all speaking to the intricacies of the program that Reggie had put together. “Am I gettin’ paid for both jobs?” Ozzy asked as the stage-hand and Sharon Osbourne tried to explain the situation to him, the expression on his face growing increasingly aggravated and confused as they went on.

“Tessa! You look... wow!” Kate commented, herself ignorant of what was transpiring on the stage in the distance. “Oh... and so do you, Lauren!” Kate added, one of her hands going up to brush back her hair. Waving the two of them over to join them at the bar, Kate reached out to wrap an arm around Tessa’s shoulder when she was in close proximity, hugging her friend warmly, and similarly planting a soft kiss on the side of her cheek.

“Un-fucking-real!” Ozzy mumbled into the microphone as he went back to center stage, the crowd screaming in reaction once again. “Mmmaking me Emm-Cee this shite ass concert... right well’em, here’re... who the fuck’or Guns and Roses?” He looked around in apparent confusion once more, the young Ozzy every bit the man he was in his older age, having never really not been who he was. Shaking his head, he dropped the microphone with an audible clunk onto the floor of the stage and stormed off, pointing aggressively at one of the two stage-hands as the came out to try and reset things for the next act, which didn’t take but a minute or so as Axl, Slash and the rest of the gang made their way out onto the deck from the left curtains, Slash plugging in his signature Gibson Les Paul as he planted black combat boot unto the top of one of the stage speakers, fingers plucking at the strings while Axl brought a new microphone to his face.

“Let’s turn this place into a jungle! Yeeeeeeeeoooooooow!” screeched Axl as Slash’s guitar echo faded in along with drum and cymbals.

Raising long index and middle fingers in the direction of the bartender, Kate then pointed down at the shot-glasses on the table as though to order additional servings for both Tessa and Lauren. “Hell yeah!” Kate announced as the first stanza of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ began, grinning broadly as she playfully poked Scruffy in his toned midsection in order to coax him from being seated, her hips starting to gyrate in accordance with the swaying guitar chords. The second order of drinks showed a second later, and Kate immediately began handing them out to both Tessa and Lauren, retaining one of them herself which she raised upward in sign of making a simple toast. “To sexy friends, and to a rocking night! Wooooooooo!” She giggled gleefully as her eyes went from Lauren, to Tessa, and then Scruffy in appreciation of her friends being there to enjoy the evening with her and one another, throwing back the shot afterward.

[ On The Stage ]

Part 2 - Guns N’ Roses
1. Welcome to the Jungle
2. Knocking on Heaven’s Door
3. November Rain
4. Paradise City
5. Sweet Child O’Mine

Naturally, the digital crowd went crazy as the set transitioned from Ozzy to that of Guns N’ Roses, the second of many acts that were to take the stage tonight, and another staple of any kickass festival like concert of the era. Slash, in his traditional tight black leather pants, black tee, and his signature tall hat with long curly locks that obscured most of his face as he worked the guitar like few other in history could have. The front man, Axl Rose, in his early 90s representation, his glory days as it were, swung the microphone from side-to-side as he worked to rile up the crowd. All while the lighting of the auditorium flashed and swirled in myriad colors to accentuate the performance as it was unfolding.

“Sha na na na na na na knees knees!”

OOC - Okay, on to act two, enjoy! Sorry for the length of this post, but so much has happened since my first one, and I wanted to respond to as much of it as I possibly could. Apologies to anyone I didn’t catch, or might have missed, it was just so much. Thanks for joining this thread that P.C. Haring and I put together, it’s already off to a great start, and I can’t wait to see how else it unfolds! Have a great time everyone!

[ Ens. Jaya Thorne | Holodeck 2| Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ]
[Show/Hide]

Jaya emerged from her shower wrapped in a plush towel. She’d earlier finished a shift on the bridge which by any standard was light duty. After all, they were in a standard orbit above the Klingon homeworld who was their ally of the moment. After that, she spent a good couple of hours working off pent-up frustrations against a sandbag in the gym. That poor sandbag didn't deserve her abusive hire. She was still upset about the disappearance of her friend Jennifer Dewitt. Her boss from the Black Opal might never return from her hero’s play with the Breen. Jaya would have to find a way to deal with that nagging uncertainty besides beating an innocent speed bag helpless, she reasoned.

Dabbing at her face with a plush towel, Jaya took a look at the news display on the wall of her quarters. That invitation to the Rock and Roll Show kept drawing her attention. She had the time. She had the inclination for something, anything that wasn’t centered around duty for a few hours. And she had punched enough things for today,  thank you very much.

“All work and no play makes Jaya a royal pain in the ass….” she murmured to herself as she stroked her cheek in thought.

If Jaya’s terminally annoying family did anything good for her back on Deneva, it was exposing her to the classical music of 20th century Terra. It was raw and exciting and memorable even after the passing of centuries of upheaval on the human homeworld.  .

Of course, there was a vast variety on the musical spectrum of what was called Rock and Roll by the contemporaries. Jaya loved it all in her youth. Being a kid with rebellion in her heart with no foreseeable future, she’d embraced so much of it. She’d even dressed the part, which only made her family that much more devoted to trying to control her. They’d failed miserably.

Attending this event had a massive amount of appeal for the scrappy pilot. In the course of recent events, Jaya had decided to be more spontaneous when it came to getting out of her quarters and getting to know her shipmates better. This was the perfect venue to exercise that ambition.

“But what to wear…..” she said as she sat down at her computer station and began to access the historical records.

When it was time to go to the rock show, Jaya had been forced to miss the first part of the show due to having volunteered to help the Engineering team with some of her workbee expertise on some external repair work on the ship. It had been worth it. The extra duty made Jaya feel as if she were contributing more to her adopted family and home aboard the Theurgy. If she lost the Theurgy and somehow survived, she really had nowhere else to go.

Jaya had dressed on the bounce and arrived just in time to hear the distinctive guitar of Slash from the great rock band Guns N Roses. She felt a thrill go up her spine as she heard that distinctive high pitch wail of the band’s frontman, Axel Rose. Like many of the stars of the genre, Axel had been a comet across the musical starscape, burning bright and fast and fading quickly. But at least we had these recordings of him in his prime, she reasoned. Not everyone could be a David Bowie, someone who defined the cutting edge for decades rather than a year or two of dazzling brilliance.

Jaya thought she looked quite appropriate for the era. She’d done more than enough research on the Goth subculture of the time period back in her teenage days, and that was paying off dividends today.  The pitch-black ballerina dress that left her shoulders bare matched with fishnets and high-heeled platform boots was perfect for the setting. Giving herself a stylized messy hairstyle gave her just the right look to fit and be a departure from her usual appearance. This was about having fun and she was going to dance all night, even if it was just dancing by herself.

Jaya recognized a number of faces in the attendees, none of whom she knew well. But she hoped that tonight would be a good start to changing that. No more retreating into her cabin like Achilles in his tent. Jaya wanted friends, people to count on, and who could count on her when things got rough. She gave them all friendly waves and nods as she cut towards the bar.

She chuckled to herself as she contemplated what she wanted. What would be the best thing to go with this setting?
“A bottle of Jack Daniels….”, she mused.
She laughed at herself. The last thing she wanted her crewmates to think was that their bus driver was a total lush.
“Make that Jack on the rocks.”

With that, she turned to listen to the raucous music and take it all in. She leaned back against the bar and sipped her drink, enjoying the smooth bite.

[CPO 1 Scruffy LeBlanc | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 2 | USS Theurgy] @Swift  @Pierce

Scruffy started to smile at Kate when he saw her finally notice him, but his amusement turned to fear as she narrowed her gaze and approached him.  He even threw his hands up when the good doctor pointed a finger at him.  He relaxed when she covered the distance between them and planted a kiss against his cheek, though her next comment definitely made him blush.  He didn’t miss the opportunity she gave him as she gave him a little show, and when she turned to order he stepped alongside her and slid one arm around her shoulders.  “Sorry, Kate.  You know how it goes when duty calls.  Couldn’t get away any sooner.”  When their drinks arrived, he grabbed his just after she did, though he had barely lifted his before she was able to slam back the whiskey.  “No, I only briefly stopped by my quarters to change, I haven’t heard anything from her, either.”  He didn’t join her in slamming his shot back, but he took a healthy drink from it as he waited for the follow-up she had ordered to arrive.

When Kate’s name was called, Scruffy turned with her to see Tessa’s arrival.  Scruffy smiled appreciatively at Tessa, though he struggled to pull his eyes away from her companion once they caught sight of her.  Finishing off his drink, he pulled himself around toward the bar to grab the newly arrived drink.  He was about to take this one a bit faster, when Kate poked him in the side, prompting him to stand.  He listened to the swelling music and Kate’s toast, and smiled.  “I can certainly agree with that sentiment,” he said, joining her in slamming back the second shot.

CPO Victor vanVinter |Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] @Ellen Fitz

The comment from Kate made him lift an eyebrow. He smiles politely to her. "No, not at all Doctor, though I haven't written any new letters since I got this. thank you for the reminder though, I'll have to get on that. and it doesn't affect my fencing at all." Yep, Victor had totally missed what the implications of her comment was. And he did need to start writing letters again, that was something He'd have to do after retiring for the night. the thought actually brought a smile to his face.

Victor mainly was enjoying the conversational flow around him. And he gave a polite nod to Enyd then, with a cheerful smile on his face. "I'm going to go get a seat and watch the show. Feel free to join me if you want. This is quite a lot for me. So many new faces, and I want just to watch and observe the show." Victor smiles cheerily to the others in the circle and raises his beer in a toast to all of them. "To new friends, old friends, and to a cool rocking party, yeah?"

Arven leux @Lathaniel

"We do indeed live in times of Miracle and wonder Sorek. I'm glad that we all get to share a collective one like this. It's nice seeing you here, by the way." Arven sips more on the Bajoran ale, letting the conversation flow around him. Asra and the others all seemed nice, but Arven found himself drawn more to Sorek than the others. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips when he was near the man. But then he caught sight of how Owen seemed to look at the pilot. And Arven realized he had to be 'someplace else.'

"I think I'm going to go get a mosh pit started if anyone doesn't mind getting a few bruises and covered in sweat. Come on!" Arven was certainly enthusiastic with his outburst. But he still had some issues with large groups. That and it seemed like Sorek and Owen might be something of a couple. And that he couldn't deal with right now. Sorek was cute, and alcohol, even the synthetic stuff, made him dumb, so best to work out that point of frustration with some exercise.  The old saying said it best, in vino veritas. And it applied to synthetic alcohol as well, at least for the Trill. Arven made a sprint towards the stage then and shouted some words that might become fateful.

"Computer, Mosh-pit." and just like that, there was a mosh pit at the stage, to which Arven joins right as Slash cuts into the opening chords of the first song of their set. Arven wasn't quite in his element, but the crush of bodies, sweat, and general bouncing felt good. This was something he hadn't indulged in for quite some time. And he could get lost in a mosh pit, so to speak, anyway.

Nara Nueva @Griffinsummoner @Swift @Pierce

Getting the invitation to the party had been a surprise. Nara had seen it in her inbox only after getting off shift. The details presented were puzzling, but Nara knew what she liked. So instead of going with anything from Earth anywhere close to the appropriate timeframe. Nara replicated some clothing that could best be described as a metallic mishmash from hell. The resulting fashion choice looked like a combination of cyberpunk and hip-hop. Known best to Nara as 'Post Colonial Vegan-rock.' It was simply put, unearthly in the overall design. But to her, it was Rock and roll incarnate. Finishing the attire was her hair getting put into a single long braid draped over one shoulder. The auburn of her hair clashes perhaps violently with the gold and purple of her outfit. after checking herself out via holographic mirror, she frowns, still not complete. Some temporary tattoos were in order then. Keeping with the theme she was trying to go for, the lab tech replicated and applied some temporary tattoos that featured a geometric and floral pattern. The mash-up of design elements might strike others as odd, but they all said Rock and roll for Nara. At least the 22nd-century stuff from Vega colony anyway.

All of this had made Nara late to the party quite literally. So she found herself walking in on Ozzy, giving the introduction to Guns n' Roses. The idea of that made her smile, though. Nara knew that her boss wouldn't be here tonight, or shouldn't be anyway. But not knowing anyone and needing a drink, Nara heads over to the bar and shouts over the music, something from home to settle her nerves.

"Melonberry wine, please, with a splash of ginger ale." The holographic bartender hands her a glass of a noxious-looking purple beverage with a fizziness from the ginger ale. While the stuff looked toxic, melonberry wine was still very much a Vega-Colony staple and almost unknown outside of that world. So the beverage usually got some strange looks when a human, especially one as clearly athletic as Nara, was caught drinking something that looked like it could strip paint.

Having acquired her drink, she spotted Scruffy sitting reasonably nearby. Nara walked over, figuring that she should break the ice with someone at the very least. And with the wild hair and grooming, it looked like he'd gone in for the 'Rock look' as well.

"Hey there, good to see someone else didn't neglect the hair for this event. I love the look. I'm Nara, just transferred in from the Embassy, you? Also, who are your friends? They're both pretty cute." She smiled sweetly to Kate and Tessa, the athletic woman quite appreciative of the clothing that most had adopted for the evening.

“Any preference on a drink, ma’am?” Mickayla asked as the two of them stepped up to the counter.

“It is all for taste,” T’Less commented indifferently, her mind distracted still by Reggie. “Nor do I have an extensive knowledge of beverages, so I bow to your indulgence.” At Mickayla’s blank look, the Vulcan added, “I leave it to you to choose for us.”

“Right,” Mickayla acknowledged, turning to the holographic bartender. “Talisker, 25-year single malt, served neat, for two thanks,” Mickayla ordered. The bartender said nothing, merely reaching down for a pair of glasses from under the counter before turning to grab a black bottle off of the shelf behind him. Mickayla couldn’t see the contents but as the fluid was poured into the glasses, the Klingon recognised the distinctive hue and aroma of the whiskey, even if it was synthehol. As their drinks were set before them, Mickayla looked down the bay and recognised the Andorian, Zark, also in attendance.

Even as the two of them paused, taking in the atmosphere that had been programmed into the holodeck, the Trill doctor, Leux, appeared beside them and ordered his own set or drinks. Or rather, his own and some for them as well as he presented two of the three shots that he had to them, despite the drinks they already possessed. He even tried to explain away his actions as ‘Doctor’s orders’ but all it did was to annoy Mickayla as she flashed back to a similar event aboard the Artemis and ex. It had been real alcohol then, with different stakes.

Others approached the bar, acquiring their own drinks for the start of the evening before settling in to talk to other arrivals or departing but the Vulcan and the Klingon were content to sit and wait, nursing their drinks and so far ignoring the shots presented to them by Arven.

“Is it common to be given drinks at an event like this?” T’Less asked Mickayla.

“Pretty much,” Mickayla confirmed. “People are either friendly or think you are hot and want to get in your pants. Either way, I can get my own and I prefer them straight. Up to you if you want to indulge in that concoction though,” Mickayla said, noting the irony in her words. Nothing about her recent life could be considered straight and normal. Her musing was interrupted when she felt someone sit down beside her and she turned to gaze at the new arrival. Betazoid, given the eyes.

"Hey, glad to see you guys made it.  I'm Reggie Suder, by the way," the woman introduced herself confidently. "When you're ready, feel free to come and join the conversation.  The more the merrier!" Mickayla was about to reply when Enyd stepped up to the bar as well and ordered an Andorian Mule before turning to look at the Klingon.

"Nice to see you again, Chief, and may I say again how spectacular you were back in the Great Hall. Even with the threat of the Infested bearing down on us, I wanted to give a standing ovation to your performance," she complimented as her drinks were set before her.

“I still ended up bleeding again, so I can’t have been that good,” Mickayla pointed out as Enyd took a sip from one of her beverages. T’Less had taken the time to review the events within the Great Hall and herself had also been impressed with the forthrightness of the woman beside her to step up and confront Gorka as she had done.

"I'd heard something about that," Reggie said to the Klingon.  "I'd love to hear the story if you're in a mood to tell it."

“Another time maybe. I don’t want to spoil the night,” Mickayla pointed out, before choosing to act as the gracious go-between. “Have either of you met Lieutenant T’Less here?”

“Hello Reggie,” T’Less said, answering the Chief's question, at least in part.

Tessa blushed as Kate mentioned how much she enjoyed the look she was currently sporting. It wasn't like she was used to looking like this either which had to be the reason for the excited reaction from her friend. She noted how Lauren smiled also when Kate complimented her attire which was slightly less dressy in this sort of crowd which oddly enough was filled with various types of party wear.

Lauren was grinning as she saw Scruffy. Something about him just kind of drew her eye as well. Clearly he liked what he saw based on his attention to her since their arrival. Although she was uncertain who he was exactly, he was still someone she wouldn't mind getting to know more during this event and afterwards. As she turned, she caught a glimpse of Kate reaching over Tessa's shoulder and hugging her while planting a kiss on her cheek. A smile washed over her as the thought of how much had changed since she'd been away from her friend. She was happy whatever was going on.

The ladies headed over to the bar where another female with red hair could be seen. She sat with clothing that really didn't jump out as party clothes but looked more relaxed than anything else. Tessa looked on and couldn't place where she'd seen the crimson hair before aside from Lauren's but shook it off for the moment. Her head still fogged in particular memories from the Valkyrie crash she'd recently recovered from.

As Kate ordered from the bartender, pointing at the glasses and back to the two women with her and Scruffy, the holographic waiter nodded and began to bring their drinks over as well. The music heard overhead made the insides of their chest feel lighter and increased the adrenaline for sure. Something typically only experienced in battle or fast flying but in this case it was all fun and not worries. At least for the moment.

The second order of drinks arrived quickly and as Kate dished them out to her friends, Tessa and Lauren, they looked on as she raised her glass in a toast. "To sexy friends, and to a rocking night! Wooooooooo!" The feeling of excitement shot through Lauren and Tessa as they were happy to just let loose after all they'd endured in the last week. Scruffy's reaction to Kate's speech made Lauren giggle a little as she and Tessa downed their drinks too.

"Thanks for the invite guys! I was so excited to get to have some fun in here again. Always nice seeing you Kate..." She peered at the only male at the standing table. "You too Scruffy." She winked to the both of them.

"Now I feel left out of whatever..." she waved at the three of them in a circular motion. "This is!" She laughed as Tessa joined her.

"Don't worry, we will include you, if you're daring enough!"

"Don't tempt me Tessa. Who do you think taught you to be bold? Hmm?"

A slight comment could be heard with a slight southern drawl at the counter of the bar. The grumbling and the yell to the bartender to refill her drink triggered a memory. That was when Tessa heard it and remembered... She was the officer who saved her hide on the Daqchov before all the mess broke out on the Theurgy. Tessa placed her glass down and walked over, knowing that it might not be the best of choices given her proximity to the individual who was drinking and displayed a general distant distaste for her on board that vessel before they barely escaped with their lives intact.

Tessa's hand tapped the redheaded woman on the shoulder as she spun around, red flowing hair whacked Tessa in the face as she still held her glass. "Oh, it's just you. What do you want?"

Treading delicately, she responded, "Aren't you Lieutenant Pierce?"

"Yeah, and your point?" Irritation clearly welling within her but still able to hold it at bay due to the experience she had as an intel officer.

"I have someone I want you to meet...I'm unsure if you're related but wanted to introduce you if you'd be willing." A cheesy smile was on Tessa's face as she tried to coax the other woman to their table.

Alana spied a look again at Tessa's attire and was impressed the Lone Wolf had as stacked a body as she did. Something she'd have been attracted to or still might be. Time will tell on that verdict. She stood up and faced the table and Tessa. "If I do this, will you leave me be in peace?"

A grin formed on Tessa's face as she knew she'd won. "I swear!"

"Fine, let's get this overwith..." She groaned as they walked towards the table and the group.

"Hey guys, this is the woman who saved me on the Daqchov the day before...well everything fell apart. Allow me to introduce Lt. Alana Pierce."

Lauren stopped mid drink and fell silent briefly in shock.

"Hi. Nice to meet you all. I'm only here because Stellan Foster basically forced me to show up to this event. Said I needed to get out of work more and "enjoy" life outside the uniform." The word enjoy placed in air quotes as she rolled her eyes and continued to drink. "He cornered me in an impromptu therapy session and said I'd be taken off duty if I didn't get out more."

Tessa let the others introduce themselves to Lt. Pierce as it finally fell to Lauren for hers. Jaw still hanging open, she was struck by some weird feeling. Almost like a familiarity but couldn't place it. "You're...you're a Pierce?! I'm a Pierce! I'm Ensign Lauren Pierce."

This struck something in Alana as she stood there with a slight eye reaction and a squinting stare at the other crimson haired woman at the table. Tessa was about to speak when Alana placed her hand over the other woman's mouth. She looked at her. "Sorry, force of habit." Releasing her hand, she returned her eyes to Lauren to inspect her like she was an android analyzing the situation. "When were you born? What's your family history?"

"Isn't that a bit much for a first meeting?"

She ignored Tessa and stared more intently at Lauren. Curiosity and real worry welled inside her. "Answer me please..."

Unsure why the woman was asking such pointed questions, she answered having nothing to hide. "I was born September 7, 2354. I was born on Mars. My family wasn't happy that I joined Starfleet. You see my grandfather served in Starfleet and disappeared mysteriously in the late 23rd Century."

The synthehol she'd recently downed was starting to loosen some of her training. She started to feel a panic well in her chest. "No...." She whispered. "Was your grandmother's name, Denielle Craig by any chance?"

Her face went white as a ghost as the question struck true for her. "Yes...WHO ARE YOU!?" Frustration and fear welled inside Lauren creating a whirlwind of emotions as she began to cry.

The adrenaline of the situation fueled Alana as she took a deep breath, exhaled and figured she might as well come clean. "Keep this quiet you four. I mean it or I'll have to come after you." She whispered as quietly as she could to the four before her. "Lauren, I am your grandfather. I was born originally as Alan Pierce. Served on the USS Eagle, the original Enterprise."

Tessa looked on in one of the weirdest WTF moments she'd ever experienced as she tapped Lauren on the should as if saying they were gonna bounce with all the recent family drama to which Lauren only nodded. "If you need me, I'm just a short jaunt away." She said leaving her friend to deal with that and hang out with Kate and Scruffy. A look of relief struck her as they left. "Wow... that was rich. So what now guys?"

As Lauren stood face to face with Alana, they just analyzed each other. "Bullshit. Can't be."

"I assure you, it's true. I was on a covert mission in Klingon space and when I was escaping I hit a temporal distortion. It spat me and the small ship out. I attempted to beam out to any world, ship, or space station as the small vessel experienced cascading systems failures and a impending warp core breach. I was knocked out by a bulkhead rupture, and the contents I was sent to retrieve unfortunately sprayed me with the compound as I laid sprawled out on the deck. "

She breathed calmly and then returned to her story. "Within drifting range of Starbase 82 in I think the year was 2380, the transporter officers couldn't beam me off the shuttle due to interference from the deteriorating shuttle. They managed to access the onboard transporter systems remotely and got a lock on me. That's when it get's weird. Due to a pattern buffer malfunction with the compound covering me, a lot of issues happened and mutated my chromosomes, which led to a change in my cellular structure mid-transport. It caused my DNA and the compound to combine. So this is how I came out the other end. As difficult as this is for me to wrap my head around. I am your grandfather...of sorts."

The situation was weird and Lauren softened up as did Alana and Lauren lept forward into a hug on her ancestor. "Your story sucks, but I'm just so glad to meet you!" She said holding Alana tight as she cried. Alana reached her arm around the woman and patted her back as they held one another.

From the view where Tessa and the others were, she looked back at the two Pierces. She pointed with her thumb. "Well. It looks like those two made up."

[Lt (JG) XamotZark zh’Ptrell (Lt. Zark) | Holodeck 2 | Deck 8 | Vector 2]

@Juzzie @Scavenger01 @Tae @Ellen Fitz @Lathaniel @Brutus @Stegro88

As predicted, Reggie, moved off to play hostess with several other and vanVinter went off to find a place to sit and enjoy the ambience of the evening leaving Zark along momentarily to savour the flavours of the peat and the North Sea in a glass.  Taking another sip and rolling it around her mouth to savour the complex flavours, she turned around and leaned her back and elbows on the bar.  Taking the chance to simply be and observe what was going on, Zark noticed that most of the people here seemed to be meeting each other for the first time and her thoughts wandered to the fact that so many could meet for the first time despite the attempt by the fates to destroy the very ship they were standing on.  Looking heavenward, a moment of unseen bleakness crossed the Andorian's face as her thoughts took a new direction despite the music to the Cayuga and how she had essentially never been heard from again.

Sighing lightly, she banished the bleak expression and eyed Rhys Williams for a moment.  It looked like he was fumbling along in his interaction with several other new comers to the party.  It sounded more like the guy was going through an interview.  Not fun at all.  I really ought to have a chat with him to see how things are going. She stood there in uncharacteristic indecision when the music helped tip the scales in her mind, it was after all a party, not a funeral.  Taking a moment to inquire what Rhys was having from the holo bartender, Zark grabbed another drink for herself and one for Rhys before sauntering over to where the counsellor was doing his best impression trying to go back being a fly on the wall. Can't have that! the now smirking Andorian thought to herself.  She quickly moved around a newly arrived Trill and cut off any avenue of escape for the shy counsellor, placed the fresh drink near him before taking his partially drunk gin out of his hand and placing it behind the bar.

With mischief written across her face, in a truly horrendous impression of Scottish accent, "Aye laddie, ya look like ya gonna drag the Dreich in with ya. Put some fire in ya belly for the lady here!"  Not even waiting to see how Rhys responded, mainly wanting to see how the new guest responded, Zark turned to the new Trill with a full toothy smile and held out her glass for a clink. "My full name is XamotZark zh'Ptrell, but I just ask everyone to call me Zark. Pleased to meetchya!" Zark greeted cheerily and probably thankfully in her regular voice.

Enyd smiled at the handsome man with a most delightful accent, “Nice to meet you, Rhys.” Enyd nodded to Victor when he told her about his general heading and watched as more crew members entered the holodeck.

She excused herself from Rhys' side soon after and headed to the bar. It struck her not for the first time just how large the ship was and also not for the first time Enyd realized it could take literal years to meet everyone enough times to place a name with a face. And as she took a quiet moment to track the movements of the newcomers, those more gregarious and those more restrained, Enyd was again fascinated with just how drastically different they all were from one another. And not just in the form and function of their departments and roles. But in their background experiences, in the tragedies they’d survived, the successes they wore on their sleeves. Still leaning against the bar, standing close to the Chief and others, she glanced back to Rhys, and Enyd almost envied him for but a moment. The stories he was privy to, the opportunities to assist in healing, all of it must be so draining and yet so satisfying when it came together well.

The Chief’s decline to share the story here was understandable, and Enyd nodded. When her companion was introduced, Enyd gave another nod, this one accompanied with a friendly smile.

“Pleasure to meet you, T’Less. I’m Enyd, diplomatic corps.” She continued her evening trend of not sharing rank as that had been one of the instructions in the invitation. The new music had Enyd looking over her shoulder and watching as the crowd shifted in demeanor in connection to the song switch. Tapping her foot along with the new beat, Enyd smiled before looking back to the trio of beauties at her side, “I like this new song.”

A slight commotion over at one of the tables drew Enyd’s attention, but she didn’t know those surrounding the table enough to feel confident in approaching. Whatever the matter was, it seemed to resolve itself rather quickly, however, and Enyd was left to gaze at the others saddled up the bar, including a young woman nursing a drink standing by herself. Smiling to those closest to her, Enyd excused herself before moving closer to the dark-haired woman wearing a more goth version of something similar to her own outfit.

“To skirts and fishnets,” Enyd saluted the woman with her own drink as she drew closer and smiled, “I love your outfit. I’m Enyd.”

To say that Asra was overwhelmed would be an understatement, the entire holodeck was filled with noise and movement which made hearing some people a challenge. That being true, Asra still had a small chuckle at Enyd's description of herself, chaos wrangling and instigation were very definitely the bread and butter of the diplomatic corp. Her chuckle almost immediatly morphed into a small coughing fit at the wink that got sent her way, though the sentiment was appreciated Asra was definitely not ready for playful winks to be thrown around, especially when she wasn't sure whether to stifle the grin or let it grow.

Recovering with a quick glance around Asra caught sight of the tail end of a wave from her fellow introvert, internally she was glad for the action, it prompted her to focus and hear the tail end of the greeting that accompanied it. Sliding around the back of Arven as he announced his desire to go form a mosh pit she came into easier hearing range of Rhys. "Nice to meet you Rhys, what dragged you from your cabin? You look about as ready to make a break as I feel.  "

Rhys and Asra's little introvert corner was quickly interuppted however by the appearance of the energetic andorian. The second the first sylable left Zark's mouth Asra knew that this would be eventful, especially given Zark's liberal handling of Rhys' drinks. The following stream of attempted accent Made Asra feel sorry for every scotsman that she had ever known a look of shock and horror easily visible spread accross her face, the sudden switch back to her native accent and greeting that followed showed that the entire point of the exchange was to provoke a reaction. Asra also felt her hackles rise unitentionally at the insinuation that she would be unable to deal with Zark's full name and so she fell back on the crutch of all introverts everywhere in an awkward situation. Gently clinking her glass against Zark's Asra schooled her expression into a deadpan stare before responding " XamotZark I believe it is fair to say that a voice actor isn't in you future careers plan" her pronouciation of the andorian name was accurate although accented as if she knew what the sounds should be but hadn't stretched her vocal chords that way for a while. Asra tried to maintain eye contact even as she felt a familiar burn start spreading up her cheeks, taking a gulp she turned back to Rhys " So what department do you belong to?

[Lt. Regiene “Reggie” Suder  | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] attn: @Stegro88   @Ellen Fitz

If she were being honest with herself, Reggie had to admit that the entire conversation with the Klingon had been a pretense.  Sure she was genuinely interested in meeting new people, hearing their stories, and starting to integrate with the crew and she had no doubt that eventually she and this klingon chief, who had yet to introduce herself, might one day hit it off.  But tonight she was a means to an end.

“Hello, Reggie.”

Reggie hadn’t known she would be there until she walked through the holodeck door.  She had hoped, wondered, and of course planned.  The Betazoid’s choice of wardrobe tonight was as much about her as it was about Reggie’s desire to wear something fun.  Ever since their inadvertent reunion in the Public Baths the other day, Reggie had found it difficult to get her out of her mind.

Reggie had spent so much time after that exam trying to get the Vulcan out of her mind and get past the hurt that their chance encounter had felt almost as though she had been playing out a dream, an idealized ‘what if’ scenario that would unfold if ever their paths crossed.  But seeing T’Less here, again, hearing those two words coming out of her mouth in that voice, made everything seem just that much more real.  Their paths had well and truly crossed.

The house lights were down, of course, but the lights from the show moved and flashed, illuminating enough of T’less allowing Reggie to see the black leather that caressed her curves.  She looked good.  Damn good.  Her head swam with the conflicting emotiions.  The urge to throw herself at the Vulcan and finally act act on the tension that had built between them only to lay dormant for a decade fought with the urge to lunge at the woman, grab her by her new cornrows and unleash a decade’s worth of hurt feelings, anger, survivors guilt, war time stress and trauma all of which could have been made easier by the presence of a friendly vulcan ear.

Reggie clamped down on her telepathic centers, forcing herself into the un characteristic position of having to close herself off to the world around her.  For as eerie as the telepathic silence was in her head, it was far preferable than letting any of this leech out and affect those around her or…worse… be read by T’Less herself.  Even more important, she knew wich side of her she wanted to win the struggle, and until she could find a way to put the frustration down for good, she would not risk giving it a voice.  No… this was not the first time she had seen her since she’d come aboard, but this would take time to fully resolve for her.

“Hey, T’Less,” she finally managed to say.  “I’m happy to see you here.  Thanks for coming.”

[Show/Hide]

For but a brief moment, Sarresh's eyes met the eyes of the woman that had been posted up next to him by the bar. He watched her meander over to another group, noting the spots trailing along her skin, and that of the man beckoning her over, making them both for Trill, though neither were familiar beyond the frame of, 'I've seen you around the ship.' Possibly his own department, but he was so generally secluded there that it was difficult to be sure. Still, she shot him what passed for a smile, equal parts kindness and grimace as she was introduced to the group around the other Trill. Again here, he only recognized two people - Enyd, with whom he had deployed to the Great Hall on Qo'noS days prior, and Zark, one of two Andorian women in Security that he had somewhat recent interactions with, in the wake of the incident in the Azure Nebula with the Borg.

Frowning at that memory, he tilted his glass back and killed it in one long gulp, before setting it down. As the liquid burned and then soothed his esophagus, he leaned backward, looking over his shoulder, addressing the holographic bar tender. "Another," he murmured softly, though the holodeck computer picked up the words nonetheless and in short order a second of the pale blue concoctions was placed by his hand. This, he promised himself, he would nurse.

Taking the drink up, Sarresh belatedly realized that the Trill woman might not have been smiling at him, but one of the other patrons at the bar, and let out a sigh. A potential gaff, he couldn't really be sure, as that circle of individuals were fully engaged with one another now.  There was nothing for it, he mussed, pursing his lips and turning his head to look out at the holographic crowd, bouncing up and down in time with the music currently being performed.

He made note, in passing of a few others entering the holodeck, the doors whooshing open with each new arrival. Some were faces' he'd seen before, many were new to him entirely. Sipping gently from his second cocktail, he set about to people watching. Propping up one foot against the bottom of the bar behind him, it began to tap in time with the music, seemingly of its own accord. More than one of his fellow crew let themselves be caught up in the moment, and Sarresh caught a glimpse of a woman with eyes as interesting as his own drawn inextricably toward the stage, and the powerful punch of Ozzy Osbourne.

Eventually the first set was over. Sarresh was glad at his own foresight in bringing the small buds to protect his hearing, though he enjoyed the music quite well. As with many of the holograms, he too laughed at the antics of the performer who would serve the role of main stage host, feeling the humor bubble up with in. Even though the man was centuries dead, the antics were still funny. The new band quickly ascended into their positions, and the music began again, with Sarresh tapping his fingers along the glass in his hand, as well as his foot now. There was a primal nature to the song, and for a moment Sarresh almost felt transported back to a time he was both familiar with, and yet could not quite remember.

Though he was only on the outer orbit of what happened next, Sarresh witnessed what had to be the oddest exchange he had seen to date on the Theurgy - a family reunion. His eyebrows shot up high on his forehead as he shamelessly eavesdropped on what was unfolding. The voices dropped to a whisper, but Sarresh had caught enough, turning and sliding down the bar, to give them further space. "Fucking time travel," he noted to no one in particular, and proceeded to pretend he hadn't seen or heard a thing at all. Easy enough to do that in that atmosphere.

A pilot he thought he recognized saddled up to the bar in a skirt an fishnet get up that was more than a little fetching, but was quickly drawn into conversation with Lt. Enyd Madsen. Sarresh had no issues with the diplomat - she'd done an admirable enough job leading the insertion team on Qo'noS during the mission to reveal the nature of the parasitic threat in the Klingon High Council - but he had no desire to interrupt someone either. More and more little clusters and groups were forming, and more and more Sarresh was reminded that he did not do all that well in social gatherings.

The music was at least stimulating and pleasing enough, arguably worth the price of admission (people). And it was only the second set. Looking around at faces both familiar and strange, he swirlled the drink in his hands and again thought of the faces that weren't present. The ones that couldn't be here, or anywhere again, and how much they would have enjoyed this. He blew a short breath out of his nose, and squared his shoulders up. There was no point in dwelling on the dead here, or more so, no point in wallowing in sadness and drink. He'd done plenty of that, though even as he thought such, he killed the second drink, letting the glass settle on the counter, only for it to be swept away.

The pleasing warmth settled into his stomach, and he turned to order a new drink, ordering an Old-Fashioned made with Aldebaran whiskey. Soon he was handed over a greenish brown cocktail with a large round ice cube floating in the center and the peel of an orange tucked around beneath it. Sipping lightly, Sarresh once more turned back to the crowd and the music, looking about as if trying to decide just where he wished to wander.

After introducing herself, Enyd fell back on traditional upbringing manners and quickly scanned the crowd to spot anyone she knew that she could introduce to the newcomer. There was the threat that this newcomer already knew those she introduced, but typically, such social gaffs were easily twisted to further fodder for creating a jovial atmosphere. A bright smile on her face, Enyd shifted a little closer to her companion so the woman could hear her over the catchy tune being played.

“I’m not sure if you’ve met everyone here, and in truth, I haven’t either. But I can point out a few that I do know, though I promise there won’t be a quiz later. At least,” Enyd feigned a look of horror, “I hope there isn’t.”

Shifting her drink to her other hand, Enyd took to gesturing toward individuals as she named them. “That beauty is Reggie; she is the one who sent out the invite and arranged this. I just met Arven this evening; he’s the one standing there near the Andorian, Zark, someone else I also just met this evening. My good…friend Victor is already over there dancing. I didn’t meet any of those congregating over there, but it sounded like some sort of reunion.” Enyd shrugged before shifting her attention to the next group. “That blonde woman is Kate, another new face for me, and I don’t know the man she’s near to, but that man there is, um,” Enyd sucked in her lower lip for a quick nibble before rolling her eyes at her own memory lapse, “that is Sorek. And that drink of water is Rhys who near another face I don’t know, yet.” She winked at her companion before finishing her manic round of introductions. “I just met T’Less over there by the Chief, Mickayla. And that,” Enyd grinned and gestured to the last man to be named, signaling for him to come closer, “or rather this, is Sarresh Morali.”

Enyd held up her drink as if in a toast to her fellow Great Hall survivor. “It is good to see you, Morali. Have you come to meet my new friend?” Enyd glanced between Morali and her beautiful companion, curious who would speak first.

*I personally felt a need to name everyone, or near everyone, in one post so I didn’t have to keep scrolling way back to figure out who was here. For further reference sake, Enyd hadn’t heard Scruffy’s name or Asra’s, hence the lack of name drop. And she hasn’t met either of the Pierce’s or Tessa.*

Kate caught glimpse of that slight blush in Scruffy’s face as he reacted to her flirtatiously playful teasing, knowing well which chords to pull on to elicit such a response from a man. It would be the first of many she’d hoped to coax out of him throughout the night, genuinely infatuated with his handsomeness already, but finding herself increasingly enraptured by the cuter aspects he’d thus far espoused.

“It’s fine... I won’t hold it against you.” She answered his apology for being late, a pair of her slenderly long fingers held up as she sought to visually order a refill from the bartender. “Or maybe I will?” she teased, swaying her hips once more as she turned her back to him, hoping to emphasize the shapeliness of her toned behind through the black skirt she wore. When an instant later Tessa and Lauren had both arrived, eliciting the combined attention of both Kate and Scruffy, Kate made grand mention of just how incredible the pair of them looked, a little more taken by Tessa’s choice in apparel than Lauren, though she knew the redhead would garner more than her fair share of affection from the concert goers tonight. Grinning as Scruffy made similar open compliment of the two ladies, Kate glanced out of the corner of her eye at him, a playful elbow finding his side as she retrieved a few more shots of Jim Beam from where they’d been deposited on the bar counter behind her, handing him one. Her impromptu toast made, Kate giggled wildly at the absurdity of it all, while thoroughly enjoying the chance to just unwind and have fun with her friends.

Behind her, another set of shots had already been poured, the bartender having pre-emptively figured to offer up a refill to the energetic blonde who had already garnered a healthy amount of his time. Once the shots were all once more poured, the tender then left the bottle settled on the counter nearby, his own non-verbal hint that Kate was more than welcome to start helping herself. After all, he had other customers to attend to, both real, and holodeck imitations of them, and he could already tell that Kate was of the sort to likely need a constant supply all night long. “C’mon! You’ve got some catching up to do!” she shouted out at Tessa and Lauren, fetching up three of the shot glasses to give to them, all the while Slash was in the midst of an elongated guitar solo on the stage, drawing the cheers of the simulated crowd as they reacted accordingly. With a gentle finger poke to his abdomen, Kate hinted to the lucky lone gentleman surrounded by these three ladies to fetch a shot of his own from where it rested on the bar counter.

Without delay, Kate threw back the shot. “Wooooo!” She cried out as the familiar burn ran down her esophagus, the magic that was intoxication by synthehol already starting to gradually touch at the edges of her nerves with an enjoyable buzz.

Giggling loudly as Tessa teased her friend about the oddity of the chemistry developing between herself, Tessa, and Scruffy, Kate once more sought to turn things around on him. “You think he could handle the three of us?” she looked him up and down, over-emphasizing the manner in which her exotically colored eyes trailed past his midsection, then back up to the level of his eyes. “Could be fun to find out.” She commented, playfully sticking out her tongue at him prior to letting another giggle escape. Her gaze finding Lauren again, she was about to yell something at the red-haired girl, about daring her to tease him instead, but before she could, the girl’s attention had shifted after Tessa who’d gone to spark up a conversation with another crimson-haired woman a little further down the bar. Tilting her head, Kate wasn’t sure what to make of it, but she tried to listen in, catching bits and pieces here and there over the loudness of the show still unfolding in the background.

Glancing back at Scruffy as Tessa came back, the other woman in tow, she didn’t know what to expect or make of it, stepping closer to his side so that she could feel the warmth of him in close proximity.

“Hey! It’s umm... nice to meet you!” Kate extended a hand, though there was a momentary recoil on her part at the mention of her step-brother, a million synapses of unpleasant memories and emotions surging throughout her consciousness in an instant. His name had honestly jolted her, causing the smile on her face to noticeably dimmer, though she shook the woman’s hand as greeting. Internally, she screamed at herself for letting Stellan have an effect on her, regardless of whether or not he was even there in person. Instinctively, she wanted to run and hide, but instead stonewalled herself to the reflexive response, deciding to find strength in the company of her friends as a hand slipped around Scruffy’s waist, coming to a rest on the left side of his abdomen as she leant into him a little more. “Umm, yeah that’s great! It’s... it’s a great party. Lieutenant-- erm, Reggie did a great job putting it together!” she explained.

Declining to introduce herself, lest her relation to Stellan be brought up, Kate smiled to the woman as way of apologizing for not being more directly open. Her intention not to seem standoffish while she tried to wipe any thoughts of her brother from her mind. Thankfully, the revelation of a possible relation didn’t occur with regard to her, but rather with Lauren and this other woman. Pierce, had been their shared surname, eliciting something of a deeper introspection as the two women took a more active role in the conversation as it was ongoing. Tessa had tried to alleviate whatever awkwardness had quickly transpired due to Alana’s persistence on the coincidence of their name, but the latter woman hadn’t given it any credence, trying to refocus Lauren into an answer. When it came, Kate found her gaze going back and forth between the two red-heads as they had a bit of a discovery of one another, though over the loudness of their environment it made it difficult to discern with any clarity.

“What do you think that was all about?” Kate whispered to Scruffy as the two red-heads seemed to head off on their own, the parlance taking a more serious and hushed tone without the two of them to intrude upon. Quickly though, Tessa seemed to similarly be excluded from the conversation, returning to join them where they’d been posted up at the end of the bar.

Shrugging, Kate didn’t know what to make of it all, but with her friends in close proximity once more, and the momentary comfort of the man she’d clung unto for support having quelled the nerves stirred up by mention of Stellan, she sought to try and resume enjoying the event as it was transpiring. “I don’t know... I guess we just keep an eye out, and be ready to break them up if fists start flying?” Her gaze looking back up to Scruffy, she let herself pull away from him so that they might have a bit more space to enjoy. “As for us...” she spun round on heel, retrieving three more filled shot glasses which she began handing off to Tessa and Scruffy. “...I say we hit the floor, maybe do a little dancing.” Downing the shot, she stepped closer to Tessa, a teasing finger finding the exposed patch of soft skin between her ample cleavage for a short moment, a longingly playful glance cast back at Scruffy as she began to sway her hips from side-to-side in a sultry manner, coaxing Tessa’s body into similarly moving with deliberate motion, an arm slipping behind the other blonde’s slender waist, while the free waved for Scruffy to join them.

[ On The Stage ]

On stage, the waning chord, drums, and symbols of 'Sweet Child O’Mine' echoed out with a finality as Axel and Slash saluted the uproarious cheering and ecstatic crowd before exiting stage left, a diligently programmed holographic crew immediately running out to begin changing it all over to suit the next act in what was to be an epic night of Rock and Roll.

“...wut you mean I’ve got’too fuckin’ perform again later on? Bull shit! No! No! It’s... it’s bull shit! I don’t care! I don’t... what you mean the microphone is live? Well fuck, why ‘innit you say so sooner, you fuckin’ ass!” the voice of Ozzy piped in over the speakers caused the crowd to react accordingly, their laughter and cheers sounding loudly as the man sauntered back on stage. His annoyance clearly evident in his face as he pointed back at someone, mouthing an obvious obscenity before he turned his focus back to everyone. “Oy! Fuckin’ great show so far, yeah?” he held the mic out to the crowd, they cheered. “Lots more ahead... fuckin’ bull shit too... but, umm, oh, they’re ready?” he glanced over at stage right once more, getting instruction from someone, as behind him the crew had finished changing things over for the next act. “Oy... olright, I’ll do it! Fuck you! Erm... let’s get wild! It’s a bird, it’s a fawkin’ superman, no, it’s fuckin’ Aerosmith! YEAH!!!!” the Prince of Darkness screamed into the mic, as from stage right Steven Tyler, his signature scarf microphone in hand came skipping out to stage, while the teasing chords of ‘Sweet Emotion’ began to blare out from speakers, a twang drawing in underneath before his voice hit, the microphone in his hand nearly engulfed by his big lips.

“...talkin’ bout things, and nobody cares...”

OOC - Okay peeps, we’re onto act three, enjoy! Set-list for Aerosmith is as follows...

Part 3 - Aerosmith
1. Sweet Emotion
2. What Kind of Love Are You On
3. Dream On

[CPO 1 Scruffy LeBlanc | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 2 | USS Theurgy] @Swift   @Pierce  @Tae

Scruffy breathed a sigh of relief as Kate accepted his apology, only for that breath to get caught in his throat as she turned and swayed her hips to the music, the lines of her torso on showcase by her dress despite the jacket she wore.  He was glad for the interruption of Tessa and Lauren, even if it did prompt further teasing by Kate.

Scruffy looked over at the brunette who walked up to their little group and introduced herself, his eyes sliding up as she mentioned his hair, as if he would be able to see what was on top of his head.  “Yeah, I tried to get it a little more in order than usual,” he said, completely misinterpreting her remark.  “Nice to meet you, Nara.  My friends call me ‘Scruffy.’  So does everyone else, unless I’m in trouble with the brass.  I’m in Engineering, Kate here is in medical and Tessa is one of our fighter pilots.  If you’ll excuse me, it looks like I’ve got some socializing demanded of me,” he said with a chuckle, as Kate pulled him further down the bar.

As the four of them made a fairly intimate circle, a necessity given the loudness of the event, Scruffy briefly noticed Lauren checking him out with a touch of pride, but it was the looks from Kate and Tessa, and the comments between Tessa and Lauren, that only encouraged the blush on his cheeks.  As Kate doubled-down on Tessa’s implications of drawing Lauren into their developing dynamics, the drink he was drinking nearly made him choke, although he kept it covered.  When Kate’s gaze dragged oh-so-slowly up his form, he shot her a look that said, ‘don’t push things too far in front of the newbie.’  He downed another drink as Tessa brought what turned out to be another Pierce over to their group, who, after a tense exchange, dropped one hell of a bombshell on their little group.  The energy and surrealness of the situation put his mind in a spin, or was that the synthehol, so he just stood there as Lauren and Alana walked off to their own reunion.

When Kate had been introduced to Alana, Scruffy couldn’t help but notice the way she seemed to almost jump back into him at the mention of her brother.  He reached one hand up to her right shoulder to give it a reassuring squeeze when he realized how tense she was, and was relieved, and more than a little pleased, when she responded by wrapping an arm around his waist, accepting his support.  He made a mental note of it, but knew it wasn’t a good time to bring up the issue.  “Sounds like someone’s got a lot of ground to cover.”

He felt Kate pull away from him after locking eyes, and smiled back at her as she turned to face both him and Tessa.  He accepted the next shot from Kate with a bit of surprise, but quickly swallowed it as he watched Kate brazenly tease Tessa, beginning to let the music fill them as Kate dragged them toward the dance floor.  “If that means I get to spend more of this night with two lovely ladies, by all means.”

“I almost didn’t,” T’Less admitted, not wanting to lie to Reggie, even if the truth might hurt. “But so far I am satisfied that I did,” she added, careful to choose neutral words. Her emotional state was in flux, and she had to force herself to keep it under control. As a Betazoid, Reggie would be able to easily tell if T’Less lost control and that was not something that the Vulcan wanted to happen. The two of them needed to find time to sit down and discuss themselves, but until then, T’Less was not willing to reveal just how much she had changed and how badly it was affecting her.

“I take it you two know each other then,” Mickayla observed with a smile, stating the obvious before taking a sip of her drink.

“From a long time ago,” T’Less confirmed, turning to look at the Klingon, feeling her hair being dragged across her bare shoulders, still unused to the new sensation. “When we were both different people.”

“Must be great to get the chance to catch up then,” Mickayla mused, suddenly introspective about how much she had changed in only the past few months compared to a decade ago. Trying to break her train of thought, she raised her glass at the Betazoid. “Thanks for organising tonight.”

Alana and Lauren continued to catch up in the more secluded section of the bar. Both women were distraught from the recent revelations brought on by each other. The history and the unfortunate circumstances that led to their being present in this particular moment left them bewildered. Deciding to take their conversation somewhere more private, Lauren put up a finger to hold Alana in place. Clearly not wanting her to run off but wanting to connect with her friends again.

She glanced about before finding Tessa waltzing over with Kate and Scruffy following closely behind towards the dance floor. "Wow! This conversation is heavy! I'll fill you guys in later with what I can disclose since you heard some of it. Basically she's only even at this party because she had to. Thankfully she did or I couldn't help her escape. So..." She looked down and her eyes wandered with her glance towards her feet.

"Soooo....what?" Tessa remarked excitedly.

"So, anyways, we're going back to her quarters to talk more in private. Apparently there's a lot more than I expected that had happened. You guys have fun and don't wait up! I'll hopefully catch you all at a gathering soon! Tonight is so bizarre!" Her face crinkled as she smiled too giddy to hold it in. Before she looked back at Alana to return she glanced at Scruffy. "You look great tonight by the way. Just thought I should tell you!" She giggled and ran back towards Alana. Both women walked together as Lauren appeared super excited to have this opportunity while Alana looked startled and pale. The two women continued until they reached the doors of the holodeck and were gone from sight.

Tessa turned back towards Kate and Scruffy. "Well. That was interesting." She remarked about the Pierce's. She heard some of her favorite oldies of classic rock playing in the background and motioned for them to head over to the dance floor. The energy in the room kept her upbeat even more than usual. But then again, it could be the synthehol speaking to her. The vibes of the situation pushed her to continue rocking her hips as she pulled Kate and Scruffy closer. Kate who unexpectedly had placed her index finger down the opening of her dress, touched her cleavage, allowing the feeling to hit her in all the right places. Tessa followed Kate's movements clearly teasing Scruffy...and each other. Now she planned to have some fun.

The music was very loud but the emotions of the moments carried her away with them. It was like flying her Valkyrie in a firefight only, there wasn't the risk of death at the end. Just pure fun. "What do you guys want to do?" Tessa yelled above the music.

[ Lt (jg) Sarresh Morali (https://uss-theurgy.com/w/index.php?title=Sarresh_Morali) | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 |  USS Theurgy ] Attn: @redshift316 @Ellen Fitz
[Show/Hide]

When he'd kicked off from the bar with a drink in hand, Sarresh had housed every intention of wandering among the gathered junior officers and the holograpic music enthusiasts and just see what might happen. While he did just that, he certainly hadn't expected to be almost immediately pulled into a conversation by Lt. Madsen before he'd barely managed a dozen paces. Frankly, he wasn't sure if he were impressed or displeased, but he did his best to plaster a smile on his scruffy face. It came to him easier than he'd expected, and he had to wonder if the alcohol (he'd had enough on this ship to tell the difference between synthehol and the real stuff) was the culprit, or if he, gods above and below forbid, he was actually enjoying himself.

Dismissing that outright unfathomable notion, he ambled over, allowing his eyes to dart from one woman to the other. Swirling pools of iridescent cerulean and emerald took them in, noting that they too had chosen some rather interesting attire, that was, if he remember, mostly correct for the time period. Fishnet stockings and black skirts seemed to be popular with both of them, and if some liberties had been taken in the name of style, Sarresh could hardly complain. He appreciated the effort, in any event, even if the fashions weren't quite all align with the time periods for music. Then again, these artists were being presented in their prime while singing songs that, for some, spanned quite some time between their various creations.

In any event, Madsen - Enyd, he reminded himself, remembering that rank was checked at the door - he remembered as a reasonably component diplomat that wasn't averse to getting her hands dirty. She'd come out of the Great Hall alive, after all, facing down an infested Klingon councilor. Not an easy task. The other woman was passingly familiar. A trio of scars worked their way down her face, and that, he felt, was the kind of trait one did not forget once they'd seen it.He was certain he had seen her in the course of his duties, but damned if he could recall her name.

Awkward.

"Madsen," Sarresh replied, raising his own glass in acknowledgement, his free hand tucked into the pocket of his leather jacket for the moment. He pursed his lips, and gave a small shrug. "Best to call me Sarresh off duty. 'Morali' makes' it sound like I've pissed off someone whom thinks themselves self important." He tried the smile again, not sure if it worked or not, before summoning up a bit of courage and pushing on into the perilous wilds of 'social interaction.'

"It is good to see you up and about. As I recall when we last parted ways you'd gone a few rounds with the enemy and I wasn't exactly in any state to hold a conversation." An understatement. He'd seized up and collapsed, nearly giving the Klingon Intelligence officer he'd been with a heart attack in the process. Hardly his fault that some hell-spawn temporal phantom had managed to break the barriers between timelines to insert himself into the events of the present time stream right as Sarresh had triggered the device to render the infested Klingon relatively inert.

Behind him, he could hear a new band take the stage. He'd been distracted by the two women, and missed the MC's outrageous remarks, but he perked up at the first few cords of the new song. He had the vague impression that this song meant something to him, and it caught him off guard for a moment. That was happening more and more. Snippets and encounters that teased the memory of a memory, without giving him the actual details. Coming to this concert was playing a merry havoc with his ability to stay grounded. But for all that he wouldn't leave and miss the music.

Glancing briefly over his shoulders, he turned his gaze back to Enyd's companion, and dipped his head slightly, the eyes seeming to reflect some of the ambient light of the concert halls.

"I don't think you and I have been formally introduced. To Enyd's point, I wasn't exactly coming over here, but I wasn't not coming over either."Botched that one right up, Morali, good job."Which is to say I'm fairly certain I've seen you before, but I don't know your name." He tapped his chest with the thumb of the hand holding his glass, and managed not to spill any of the alien whiskey in the process. "Sarresh Morali. Temporal refugee at your service."

Clever. Much better than introducing yourself as Frankenstein's Monster. You're getting better at this, or so he told himself.

Now Rhys felt doubly uncomfortable. He had waved at Asra and had started to talk to her, now she was talking back. He tried to keep his face as impassive as possible, but his smile was turning more and more into a rictus. She then asked him a question. His brain stared working over drive fireworks display if poorly digested ideas and thoughts buzzed and flashed behind his eyes. So in panic was he that for a moment he forgot why he had ventured out. “… Music.” He blurted out almost like an expletive after stubbing his toe. “I mean, I like this kind of music…. Anything with guitars to be honest. I like guitars, I play one … I mean not well or anything but…” At that moment he found his drink taken out of his hand and another once placed on the bar next to him.

His right hand opened and shut a few times so that he resembled a confused crab. In many ways the strange, garbled mess of a Scottish accent, came as blessed relief, he could now stop talking for a moment. It was truly a terrible Scottish accent, it sounded like someone who had only heard the accent described and never heard one themselves. His heart lamented for his Celtic brethren.

It was Zark. He was mildly surprised she wanted to interact with him in anyway. Sometimes people who had been his patients wanted to avoid that for various understandable reasons. He laughed a little when Asra made comment on Zark’s lack of impersonation skills. Then he found attention back on himself.

“Oh me?” He said needlessly almost looking around to see if there was a more interesting person stood behind him. “Oh, I am Assistant Chief Counsellor.” He said feeling very ridiculous. How could someone so unsociable be a counsellor, he could see that idea forming in most people’s heads when he spoke to them. He grabbed the new glass gratefully, good old Gin would see him through this. "Yourself?" He said feeling a need to ask the question back.

@Juzzie @Scavenger01

Zark let out a whoop of delight as she put her glass down and clapped her hands together in front of her face as her eyes lit up. That was very well done!  You've certainly got a lot of talents you're holding close to the chest.  Must keep an eye on this when she helps dig us out of trouble. Rhys' response on the other hand was well, very Rhys.  The combat medico turned to face the counsellor and a her features softened to one of exasperated fondness as she linked her arms into his. "Ne sois pas si timide, ma chérie."  the Andorian spouted in an accent that wouldn't have been out of place in central France before switching back.  "I'd say you should stop using words like there was a premium on them, but then you wouldn't be you."

Sighing, Zark turned back to Asra.  "I do apologize for jumping in like this, but it's not often I see Rhys going to social events, so this was very unexpected.  Don't let this retiring demeanour fool you, he's one of the best at what he does and he did a much better job of helping me put things in perspective than he's probably be willing to admit.   The blue alien looked back and smiled at the human before turning back to the new Trill.  "Though he's not usually this tongue tied."   Shrugging for emphasis on her confusion.

"I'm also very curious about the new people who are coming aboard and how you got here.  Also considering how quickly you recovered and with that wonderful quick wit, we're lucky to have you!  You have tritanium in your spine, and we need that now more than ever!" The medico was pretty sure the drinks were starting to take effect as she motor mouthed away. "And to bring us back on track before I so rudely interrupted, the good counsellor did have a very pertinent question, what position are you taking on?  If you don't mind me asking, are you joined?"

Ne sois pas si timide, ma chérie = Don't be so shy, dear.

Asra smiled kindly at Rhys as he stumbled over her question giving him time to get his answer in order. Once he said it she immediately stamped down on the surprise that some one ranking lieutenant or below would hold such a senior position, though she supposed wars did make for rapid promotions, in rank and responsibilities. Before she could even contemplate putting a response together to answer Rhys, Asra's attention was diverted once again to their energetic Andorian friend.

Quirking her head to one side Asra examined Zark once again, it had been a long time since she last worked with languages but the signature lilts of terran french was not hard to pick out. Only a few of the words managed to pull up Tobiar's memories but immediately Asra's eyes darted between Ryhs and Zark trying to examine their body language with each other. Fortunately her silence went completely unnoticed as the andorian immediately filled the space with an avalanche of words.

While her experience wouldn't let Asra take a step back she still leaned back slightly, taking a big sip of her drink to create a small barrier between her and Zark as the avalanche morphed into questions. She still, however, couldn't hold back a tired smile at Zark's question about joining, she had already braced herself for hearing all forms of that question from interested crewmates over the next few days. " I've come to assist the science department with anything they might need, especially with some of the more exotic technology that has come aboard recently" she addressed them both before focusing on Zark " I don't mind you asking at all, yes I am joined, I've been with the Tek symbiont for near on....... five years now " Quickly weighing up her options Asra decided to not inundate Rhys with questions right now and kept her focus on Zark " What about you XamotZark what's your role onboard, are you a councillor as well?" Asra spoke calmly and with a smile but a slight challenge ran underneath Zark's name. She may not be drinking but Asra could already feel her troublesome side coming to the surface as she got more used to the environment.

@Scavenger01 @Juzzie

Zark nearly sighed at hearing 'XamotZark' again, and would have asked the science officer to relax, except she thought Zark was a counsellor.  The Andorian let out a hearty laugh that lasted for a good 10 or so seconds, accompanied by tears coming out of her eyes, as she disentangled from Ryhs to grab her sides.   "Hoooooeeeeeeeeee!" Zark ended before wiping the tears from her eyes with a thumb.   "By Lor'vela, that's a good one!" Zark croaked out, yep booze definitely at work. Zark's smile was now plastered on her face as she waved to Asra in a placating manner.  "Sorry, Sorry, weeeee! It's not you. It's totally me!  I don't think Rhys could stand to have me in with the other counsellors.  He's a great listener for all the head doctor type stuff, but not me, no way. I'm the ship's seeker of mayhem and saviour of lives under fire, also known as the sole combat medic."  Zark decided to leave it at that for the time being as she completely bulldozered Rhys in the conversation.  Her new conversation companion was just too interesting.

Zark's head tilted from side to side for a moment as the implications of Asra's knowledge filtered their way through the Andorian's mind.  Her smile disappeared as if turned off by a switch and was replaced by a very intense look in an instant and her hands akimbo'd onto her hips right afterwards, though she just barely managed from invading Asra's personal space.  "Hoooold on a minute.  Professional hazard for a cross breed of Security and Medical, but exotic technology?  What exotic technology? And is it dangerous to the crew?"

Zark knew she was taking the safety of the crew quite possibly overboard, but Zark took her professional responsibilities very seriously, especially after recent events.  There was also a niggling in her instincts about Asra that indicated some sort of trouble was brewing, but at this point she didn't know why and now she wanted to know.

[Lt. Regiene “Reggie” Suder  | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] attn: @Stegro88‍  @Swift‍  @Ellen Fitz‍  @RyeTanker‍  @Juzzie‍  @Scavenger01@Griffinsummoner‍  @Pierce‍  @redshift316‍

T’Less’s confession that she almost did not attend hit Reggie square in the chest, and for a moment there was physical pain.  Had she been too hard on the woman the other night?  Deep down, Reggie knew the truth of T’Less’s words.  They both had changed quite a bit over the past decade…everyone had…anyone would.  Especially after this past decade.  What’s more, the Betazoid thought she sensed something from the Vulcan…the briefest flash of emotion only to disappear just as a fast…a strobe light on the horizon sending out one ping and then fading to darkness.  Had that come from T’Less?  Or had it come from somewhere else and her mind just willed it to come from her?  Given the activity of the night, she suspected the latter was more likely.

The Chief drew her attention, offering thanks for putting the night together.

“Happy to do it Chief,” she replied raising her own bottle in return before taking the last pull the container had to offer.  “I may be new to the ship, but it was obvious the crew needed an opportunity to kick back and let off some steam.  The added opportunity for me to meet shipmates was just a bonus…”

Her voice trailed off as she met T’Less’s eyes.  Maybe it was Reggie’s perception of the Vulcan or maybe it was reality, but she appeared uncertain and withdrawn.  Reggie felt not need to further expand on what T’Less had said about their past history.

“Unfortunately, we haven’t had a chance to catch up properly yet, Chief.  Timing’s been kinda bad.”

The deflection had the merit of also being the truth.  Trying to catch up on a decade and untangle the web of emotions she was feeling while sitting in a hot tub was probably the worst possible timing there could be.

I want to apologize, T’Less, if was was too harsh the other day.  There was more hurt that needed to get out than I realized.  If you’re willing, I think we should talk and try to catch up properly.  I’ve missed you.

Reggie pushed the thought to T’Less telepathically and let the Vulcan do with it as she would.

“Well,” she said after what might have been too long a silence between the three of them, “I seem to have nothing to drink.  I should rectify that, I think.  I’ll be back.”

She gave Mickayla and T’Less a polite salute with her empty bottle and made her way to the bar, her head a swirl of confusion as yet again the conflicting emotions took her head for a spin.  She was angry, hurt.  But she missed her.  Was glad she was back.  Eager to pick up where they left off, afraid to do the same.  Afraid she would be rejected… afraid she wouldn’t.  What the hell did it all mean?  What was the answer?  Where was the right course?

Reggie sighed as she stepped up to order.

“Give me a Manhattan.  Make it a double and don’t you dare water it down.”

Asra leaned back slightly, almost taking a step, as her new conversation partner burst into peals of laughter at her question, it was a very odd reaction to a simple question. Asra was about to file it away to look at later when Zark recovered from her mirth and quickly gave an explanation for the odd reaction. The explanation however did explain a number of things about the andorian, the easy outgoing confidence and forward stance both being common hallmarks for members of Starfleet security who in Tek's history often tended to lean towards gregarious to cope with their work. The note that she was the sole combat medic was very interesting however and implied a not insignificant loss of the ship's security complement.

Though Asra had successfully avoided taking a step back at the laughter, the sudden change to serious and intense did have the science officer moving to put just that little more space between her and the clearly combat capable security officer. " Ummmmm.. Asra made a non commital noise as she rapidly tried to wrack her brains as to the classified nature of her new work. She couldn't remember being told that it was specifically classified but just in case she decided to only give a small amount of information " There are several systems though the most prevalent one is a new drive system that Theurgy picked up recently. I don't think there's much danger to the crew from what I've learnt so far the technology seems to have had extensive tests by other parties." Deciding that there was probably enough information out there now to either answer Zark’s query if she knew, or make it obvious that if she didn’t know she wasn't meant to, Asra decided to move the conversation away from that slightly grey area.

“ From your questions both of you seem like you’ve been onboard for a while” Asra turned between the two of her conversation partners, trying to engage both “ How long have you been part of this? If you don’t mind me asking” Asra tried to move the focus back off herself and depending on the response she might even be able to get Zark talking about the rest of the crew which would be nice to match people to files.

It was at times like this that Rhys was reminded what being around Zark could be like. It was rather like having a hose pipe ejecting a stream of words into your face. She sometimes tended to talk at rather than with people. She even spoke French at him which was not going to help him much.

However, there was a kindness in there among the bluster and at times like this it came out. He was more than happy for her to dominate the conversation. The more she said, the less he had to say.   He could relax a little. He blushed a little as she linked arms with him. It could be nice to be close to her.

Once Asra had asked if Zark was a counsellor to, this caused a raise of his eyebrow and a slight curling of his lips in amusement at the idea. He couldn’t imagine anyone less suited to the role or who would be more reluctant to do it. Zark seemed to find it much more hilarious and was beside herself with laughter which caused her to unlink her arm from his. This brought a smile to his face and shake of his head. “Having you as a counsellor would be…. Interesting.” He said with genuine amusement.

Suddenly just as quickly as the mirth had vanished. In an instant her demeanour radically changed. She began probing Asra with very hard sounding questions. Rhys raised his hands in a placating manner. “I am sure that’s all already been looked into.” It was clear that Asra was understandably a little discomforted by Zark’s change.

Rhys decided he would engage with Asra’s questions to diffuse the awkwardness as best he could. “Ha… I am not sure. It feels like years, but it’s no where near that long. So much has happened to us in such a short period.” He sipped his gin, and found his fingers drumming on the side of the glass nervously.

Haring @Tae @Ellen Fitz @Stegro88 @RyeTanker @Juzzie @Scavenger01 @Brutus @Pierce  @Griffinsummoner

On stage, the holographic representation of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler was wailing into the microphone with his every being, the unmistakable chords of ‘sweet emotion’ sounding behind him as the virtual crowd cheered and danced in accordance. It was every bit the Rock-n-Roll concert one might’ve encountered in the heyday of Earth’s 1980s, and it was exactly what had been dreamt up by Theurgy’s latest addition to the Lone Wolves, and it’s Chief Surgical Officer. A genuinely good time for the beleaguered and battered crew that had just survived an arduous journey, but which had many more ahead of them. Yet it was often the small things in life which you had to learn to appreciate and enjoy whenever they popped up, especially when times were difficult. And as far as anyone would have, or should have been concerned, enjoyment of any kind was a prerequisite for this event and evening.

With a shrug, Kate didn’t know what to make of it all, but with her friends in close proximity once more, and the momentary comfort of the man she’d clung unto for support having quelled the nerves stirred up by mention of Stellan, she sought to try and resume enjoying the event as it was transpiring.
-
Scruffy felt Kate pull away from him after locking eyes and smiled back at her as she turned to face both him and Tessa.
-
Tessa turned back towards Kate and Scruffy.

The music was very loud, but the emotions of the moments carried Tessa away with them. It was like flying her Valkyrie in a firefight only, there wasn't the risk of death at the end. Just pure fun. "What do you guys want to do?" Tessa yelled above the music.

-JOINT POST CONTINUES BELOW-
[Show/Hide]

A hand placed against the middle of Scruffy’s chest, Kate peered back at Tessa for a moment to ensure her friend would indeed be okay with out her at her side. Yet she felt no reservations at all about it, as she knew the Lone Wolf would be in the strong, capable hands of the Systems Engineer. Her friends, the both of them, and whatever else they were starting to mean to her, she was totally comfortable knowing they’d be just as well off without her, as they were with. It was a reassuring realization to have, and Kate let a serenely sweet smile creep across her face accordingly. Pressing up on her tippy-toes though, her hand still braced against his firm form, Kate planted a gentle kiss on the side of Scruffy’s left cheek before whispering just loud enough into his ear that he might be the only one to hear her. “You’re awesome! Have fun with her! I’ll be back in a bit. When I am, Tessa and I will return the favor and have our fun with you!” Settling back down unto her heels, she took a step to leave and let her hand trail teasingly down the front of Scruffy’s chest to get a feel for his toned shape underneath the fabric of his shirt.

With a grin stretching nigh from ear-to-ear, Kate left Tessa and Scruffy without looking back, knowing that the teasing she and her friend had been unleashing upon the handsome man was wholly unfair, but at the same time, entirely too much fun to let up. The way she figured it though, he’d forgive them later on if the teasing resulted in what most men could only dream of.

“Hey! Reggie! What’s up, girl?” Kate called out to her friend as she neared the bar, while on-stage a crew ran out to begin changing things over for whoever the next act in this playlist would be. Stopping just to her right side, Kate leaned up against the bar, a delicate hand raising into the air with two slender digits extended in order to get the bartender’s attention. “Two shots of Jim Beam! Post haste!” she ordered, then turned her attention back to the stage. “Can you believe how awesome the acoustics of this holodeck are? And that recreation of Ozzy! It’s incredible! I can’t believe how awesome this program is! Oh... and you’re not going to believe this! Remember how I told you about my love of Aerosmith, and how many nights I’d spent with people, making out to it playing in the background? Well, I’m hanging out with Scruffy and Tessa and...” pausing as she detected something was bothering Reggie, Kate furrowed her brow a little and tilted her head to the side, the length of blonde hair she traditionally tucked behind an ear slipping free to cascade over her face, casting a shadow.

“Hey? What’s up? Is everything alright?” she asked, the Bartender returning to set two shot-glasses of amber liquor down.

[ On The Stage ]

“Erm... this next one--” casting an annoyed glance back at someone off-stage, Ozzy pointed an accusatory finger in said direction before returning the microphone to his face. “--I fuckin’ am! Shut it! I am! Fuckin’ ‘ell! You believe the shite I have to deal with! She’s a right-on slave-drive, I swear it!” The Prince of Darkness, or rather the holographic recreation of him, waded back and forth on the stage in obvious aggravation, still seemingly not over the fact that he’d have to perform again later on. “Anyway, ‘et’s hear it for fuckin’ Aerosmith!” He goaded the crowd into exploding with cheers, a bout of laughter escaping Ozzy as he pointed and hollered other profanities at the people closest the stage. “Louder!” He screamed, and the cheering intensified. “I fuckin’ can’t hear you! I said louder!” Ozzy began pacing more hastily, pointing the microphone at the crowd as behind him the stage-hands had finished their swap over, and were running off. “That’s fuckin’ more like it! Ladies and Gentlemen! For your auditory pleasure, I give you...” stopping mid-sentence as though he’d forgotten, Ozzy looked off-stage again to someone for direction.

“...as I was saying!” he resumed, having remembered all of a sudden. “I give you, Joan Jett, and the fuckin’ Black Hearts!”

From the opposite side came Joan, signature black leather jacket and black t-shirt with ‘The Runaways’ emblazoned in white lettering across the front, an ivory-white Gibson Les Paul held in hand as she pointed to the crowd. Immediately the heavy drum began to thump behind her, sending shockwaves reverberating throughout the holographic arena.

“Saw him dancing there by the record machine!” Joan started into the mic, her hand swiping at the strings of her guitar.

Part 4 - Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
1. I Love Rock ‘N Roll
2. Cherry Bomb
3. Crimson and Clover

Zark's expressive blue-green eyes lit up when Asra told her what she was on the ship for and her mood once again switched with dizzying speed as a massive smile split her face as her hands clapped together, almost completely drowning out Rhys at the same time.  Andorians had been described as being 'extra' by certain species, and once under the influence, Zark was no exception. "You're one of the brain trust for the new drive system!" the blue woman exclaimed.  There was no stopping the medico now as she practically leapt forward and glomped the Trill, mashing her blue cheek and against the pale one, no doubt to several people's shock, most likely Ryhs' if nothing else. "This is great!  Things are totally looking up for us!  We get one of the super braniacs to help us safely travel faster than the limits of a conventional warp drive without us blowing up!" The Andorian managed to spew out without running out of breath.

Detaching her head from the Trill, Zark turned her smile on the eternally shy counselor "Rhys! Isn't this great!"  Just because Zark was looking tipsy didn't mean she was oblivious as she pouted and a black leather clad cobalt arm flashed out towards the counselor's face as her index finger lanced out to tap the human on the lips to keep them shut. "Oh hush!  I know I'm talking at people instead of to them, and as demented as you find it, it's also entertaining, so enjoy it!"

Letting go of Rhys, and turning back to Asra, Zark leaned into the Scientist's ear and began waving her head back and forth as if she was nuzzling her though she made sure to keep a distance from actually coming in contact before whispering as one could in a concert. "Don't worry, I'm a lot more even keeled than I look. I do this from time to time to give Rhys some cardiovascular exercise.  He'll be fine."  Pulling back and letting go, Zark's smile softened and became crooked as she linked her hands together to see if Asra would play along.

Enyd nodded, “Then it is Enyd, Sarresh.” She giggled at his additional comment. “I can be a bit of a pragmatic bitch, so I’ve been told, pardon the loose language, but I’ve no qualms on thinking I’m bigger than my britches.” Enyd laughed again, quickly adding, “A saying my grandmother back in Montana often tossed at me, reminding me I’d best not think myself too big or else someone else would come along quick enough and knock me back down where I belonged.”

Sarresh’s smile was a bit more like a grimace, strong evidence that the man did not socialize like this often. But instead of calling attention to the lack of effusive emotional tells, Enyd gave an emphatic nod as her fellow survivor recalled their Great Hall encounter.

“I believe our doctor Elro will confine me to quarters if I show up again any time soon with so much as a hangnail. He patched me up just prior to going to the Great Hal after a run-in with the Klingon boarding party just to have me bounce back like a bad penny immediately after the mission. I believe I vex him.”

Enyd was distracted from their conversation trail as the new band took to the stage and immediately, she felt the music sway its way through her senses, her feet itching to dance. She returned in time to hear Sarresh introduce himself to their companion, an enigmatic woman she also did not know. If it had been any other music, Enyd would’ve stayed by their sides long enough to catch her name and continue the conversation, but the pull was relentless and she had to dip her head in apology to her companions.

“The sirens song beckons, I’m afraid. It was a pleasure to speak with you both. See you!” She gave a quick wave before she all but twirled her way to the dance floor.

Enyd intentionally bumped against Victor, letting him know she was nearby, before giving herself over completely to the music, not caring that as she danced, the edges of her skirt bounced and swished almost provocatively against her legs. All her attention was on the music and how it made her feel in the moment.

Listening or attempting to over the loud music, Tessa could tell that Kate had just said something to Scruffy. Likely still in a teasing manner based on his reaction and the not so subtle finger running down his chest as she smirked. Lance could only imagine what the thoughts were going through the young man's head. To be truthful, at times she wasn't even sure what was going through her own head. Holy smokes it hurt sometimes to think clearly. More often than not the blonde tendencies reasserted themselves in particular situations. She stood all the way up as her feet felt more surefooted than she had moments before. Likely the fact she wasn't continuing to drink and that synthehol effects were lost on an adrenal spike. Where did that come from?   she thought. Must still be remnants of her Vulcan mind reset at Aldea. She shrugged as she grabbed Scruffy's arm and pulled him away from his stance stealing a glance at Kate with a wink. "Ready to dance with this crazy Lone Wolf?"   She sashayed her hips as she got into the groove of it still holding one of his arms.

Scruffy was definitely left blushing by Kate's departure and he couldn't even blame the synthehol this time.  The kiss on the cheek had been a welcome expression of gratitude, but then she kept ratcheting things up.  He definitely needed to waste some energy on the dancefloor.  When Tessa grabbed his arm and pulled him toward the dancers, he turned to give her his full attention and smiled, giving her a smirk as she did her own teasing.  "I think I can handle a bit of dancing and howling under the moonlight, yeah."  He let his arm swing with her, letting the steady beat of the music lead his own tempo.

Her arms locked in with Scruffy's as she danced closely. She swung nearer to him and gave more movements that indicated more deliberate flirting. A smile cracked her smile before she let go and started doing some of the easiest yet, lamest dance moves indicitive to someone who didn't know how to actually dance. But a giggle formed as she did it and pulled back close to Scruffy, whispering in his ear. "Does this make you want to howl at the moonlight."   Her eyes drew close to Scruffy, examining his bright blue eyes. Pushing back slightly she continued to dance as she let her mind actually relax and be clear.

Scruffy enjoyed having Tessa so close to him on the dancefloor.  When she started "improvising," he couldn't help but chuckle, before she moved in close again.  After she whispered in his ear, his eyes locked on hers when she pulled back.  Whether it was the synthehol or the fun he was having, he decided to let loose more than he had in a while.  Falling back on what he knew, he took Tessa's hands in his own and started something of a blend of line-dancing and swing dancing. Letting the beat of the Blackhearts set his pace, he alternatively pulled her close and swung her out, gently given their mutual states of inebriation.

Taking the movements from Scruffy's guiding hands in mind, she went with the flow of the free form dance blend of line and swing, something that surprisingly her body moved with ease to. Whether from her partially inebriated state or from the movement needed to pilot a Valkyrie, she felt the rhythm guiding her. Tessa slid close to him and seemed to enjoy the manly figure pulling her in close. Something she hadn't felt an attraction to in some time. Or anyone worthy of that attraction at least. Her mind wandered as her body seemed to know what to do as the song progressed.

Scruffy would have to admit to himself that he was enjoying this party a lot more than he thought he would.  It certainly wasn’t anything like he expected, but the combination of drink and company was enough to, if only for tonight, rekindle something he had lost: a zest for life and a desire to live in the moment.  His value wasn’t in how he was remembered far and wide, but in what he meant to two people in particular. Swaying with Tessa, his hands slid around her waist, just holding her close a moment longer.

Tessa enjoyed the song playing overhead and leaned on Scruffy briefly allowing him to take the lead. Something she wasn't accustomed to with being a pilot but she felt it was nice. She could see that this night was unlike any other as she was among really good friends. Then she pivoted to toss herself off of him and back into the fray of the song, swiveling her waist and arms in and opposing back and forth motion with a large grin on her face as she performed the dance despite its oddity. She rocked her head back and forth as she did, letting the hair on her head fly back and forth with as much enthusiasm as the woman attached held.

Scruffy let out an amused laugh at Tessa's antics, circling around her as she let out this burst of chaos.  He kept his front toward her, side stepping and doing his own pivots.  When his movements brought him back around in front of her, he waited for a pause in her movements to reach out an arm, offering to pull her in close again.

She took in the vibe of the music as it drove her energy levels ever higher. As she was in a mid swirl and swivel, Scruffy's arm reached hers. Her paused movements allowed a calm to wash over her as her emotions flooded higher, looking into Scruffy's face and eyes, taking it all in as she allowed his arms to hold her closer.

Scruffy spun her to him, hugging her tight against him and lifting her off the ground as the vocals reached a crescendo.  He spun in place, twirling around with her, a gleeful laugh let loose before he stopped and let her feet again touch the floor.

She felt the tight fingers gripping her waist. A small energy built inside her as she felt her heart skip several beats wondering what he was going to do next as he pulled her closely. As quickly as Tessa noted the feeling of their torsos clinging closely, she discovered the near weightless sense of not standing on her own two feet anymore. She embraced the feeling of the situation overtake her as she leaned back into it with her arms and legs outstretched in all directions, appearing like a giant "X" being held up by the man before her. A smile graced her lips and cheeks as she giggled and held him in a bear hug as she was lowered back to the ground, followed by her arms around his neck.

Scruffy kept his hands on her waist as the final chorus to 'Cherry Bomb' wrapped up, their hips rocking side to side, gazing back into Tessa's eyes as she swayed with her arms wrapped around his neck.

As the rhythm calmed down, so did Tessa's movements as the hip rocking moved to near stationary as she gazed at him deeper and pulled him close to her using her strong arms, planting a tight-lipped kiss on his lips. Feeling the emotions in her heartbeats, breathing and chest movements, it funneled into her lips into a gratifying display of emotional release. And her mind went numb as she took in the emotion of the moment. Bliss on her mind.

Swept up in the spirit of 'Living in the moment,' Scruffy accepted Tessa's kiss, wrapping his arms around her to pull her close against him as he eagerly returned it with the tension that had been building inside him from everyone's teasing.

The alcohol stung as it splashed against the back of her throat and she gagged on it for just the briefest of moments as she slammed the glass back down on the bar.    The Orion gave her a look and while Reggie could not read the mind of a hologram, she knew the question being asked.

“Another.”

Damn it all to hell.  Why couldn’t things just be straight forward for once in her life?  Yes, she had brought this on herself when she invited T’Less… even reinforced it when she made a point to tell T’Less about the party last night and ask her personally to attend.  But now she was here, and Reggie Suder had no fucking idea what the hell to do or to say.  She’d apologized to the Vulcan woman, but truth be told, Reggie wasn’t even sure if she believed her own apology.  Was she sorry for being harsh with her?  T’Less had hurt her.  Should she apologize for her emotions?

No, she chided herself.  But the Vulcans would tell you to control them.

That seemed to be their answer to everything.  Control your emotion and embrace the objectivity of pure logic.

She threw another shot back, slammed the glass down and indicated for a third.

To hell with that.  To hell with controlling emotions.  She hadn’t survived the war by controlling her emotions.  No.  She’d survived by letting those feelings motivate and push her.

But… it was T’Less.

The woman had not exactly been warm and cuddly back in the academy.  Well…there was that night of the storm…  But there was something about her, a quiet strength beneath the beauty that was her body and flesh that Reggie craved.  Maybe she was just a lost puppy dog but if there was any chance she could enjoy T’Less’s company again didn’t she owe it to herself to try?  Maybe they weren’t the same people any more but that didn’t necessarily doom them to failure.  Hell, it might be what they needed to actually work this time.

Reggie jumped as Kate’s voice pierced her veil of thought, hitting her both audibly over the music of Joan Jett, and telepathically.  She hadn’t even realized her mind was open.

Closing her eyes, she shook her head, regaining what little composure she could.

“Just my heart and brain at odds, Kate,” she said with a sigh.  “It’s none of my business, but I hope your love life is less complicated than mine.”

[ Lt. Enyd Isolde Madsen | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02] attn: Attn: @P.C. Haring  @Pierce  @RyeTanker  @Tae   @Juzzie  @Brutus   @Stegro88  @Griffinsummoner

It should be written as a point of fact that if chaos could happen then, when the variable of Enyd Isolde Madsen was involved, it very well would. As she’d been enjoying—with blushes—the show of two fellow dancers growing increasingly intimate with their dances, ultimately culminating in a passionate kiss, Enyd’s world tipped. More like, a heel broke, and she was sent careening sideways. The fates were not so kind as to offer her the warm arms of Victor to catch her or similarly fleshy barriers of humanoid forms to block the hardened wall of the holodeck from rudely making a dent in her forehead. No, Enyd was thrust against the wall and into a heap on the floor in a matter of milliseconds, with very few taking note of her haphazard “distress” due to the din of the music and the cacophony of revelry of the venue.

“Dog gone it.” Pulling the ruined shoe from her foot, Enyd glared at it as if it was the physical manifestation of the unwritten rules of order against her. Wriggling her toes, Enyd grimaced. She’d need to take a detour to the infirmary before heading back to her quarters. It wasn’t broken, but her ankle would swell to something large and ugly if she didn’t see to it immediately. “Well, that concludes my evening.”

Using the wall for balance, Enyd crawled up it with less finesse than an elephantine stripper, and began her slow hobble for home. She didn’t bother Victor, happy to see him integrating with fellow crew members. She was a big girl and didn’t need anyone to hold her hand while she went to the doctor to get lectured on the idiocy of attempting to dance in heels. But she was certainly going to reward herself with a scone and tea once she was settled back in her quarters. Maybe even watch a silly romantic film from a bygone era.

[Lt. Regiene “Reggie” Suder  | Holodeck 02 | Deck 08 | Vector 02 | USS Theurgy ] attn:  @Tae@Ellen Fitz@Stegro88@Griffinsummoner‍  @Pierce

The night carried on, Joan Jett giving way to Motley Crue, Steppenwolf, Black Sabbath, KISS, AC/DC. Led Zepplin, and closing with Van Halen.

The crew continued to mingle in their various circles, their own individual and group stories carrying on through the night to their inevitable conclusions.  As the night progressed, more Junior Officers and Enlisted crew found their way to the show and, with it being as laid back as was intended, some left early, some stayed until last call, others staying until the final curtain.

And for those who stayed the entire night, the show did not disappoint.

As Van Halen finished “Jump” and closed their set, Ozzy returned to the stage.

“Thank you so, fucking much for coming out tonight,” he screamed.  “I’m told we have one more surprise for you. Call it an encore…whatever the fuck that is.  Ladies, Gentlemen, Transgender, and Gender Neutrals, I present to you…”

He paused for a moment and looked at the card in his hand.

“What da FUCK?  SHAAAAAROOOONNNNN!!!!!”

Ozzy turned to stage left, and not for the first time in the night as his wife poked her head out from the stage’s side wings.  Ozzy frowned, motioning to the card in his hand.

“You can’t be serious!  I mean this is a serious show!”

Sharon mouthed something back at him, motioning him to follow the cards before she ducked back out of sight.  For his part, Ozzy turned back to the crowd, a look of confusion and, yes embarrassment, on his face.

“I present to you,” he said, all the energy seemingly gone.  “Semi-fucking-sonic.”

As the encore band took the stage, the excitement from the audience seemed to diminish, turning to confusion.  Undeterred, the band set up and started their music.

“Closing tiiimmmmeee, open all the doors and let you out into the world”

The crowd was not amused by the cliche and as the alt rock group tried to hold their own, the audience’s protests turning into all out boos and jeering, an acoustic wave of discontent that just as suddenly seemed to erupt in cheers and excited screams as a plume of fire shot out from Stage Right.

The Demon stormed onto the stage, fire blowing from his face, his Axe Guitar slung over his shoulder as if he was prepared to decapitate the poor fools.    Starman, Space Ace, and the Catman followed a few steps behind, as they approached the ever more apprehensive Semisonic.

Deciding that discretion was the better part of Valor, Semisonic withdrew, almost running off the stage as Starman took the Mic.

“What the FUCK was that,” he asked rhetorically.  “You came here for the best!  You want the best?  YOU GOT THE BEST!!!”

Without further word, KISS took up their instruments and the drumbeat began.  Guitar soon followed in introduction for the only piece that could properly close the night

You show us everything you’ve got.
You keep on dancin’ and the room gets hot.
You drive us wild, we’ll drive you crazy.
You say you wanna go for a spin
The party’s just begun, we’ll let you in.
You drive us wild, we’ll drive you crazy

You keep on shoutin’ you keep on shoutin’

I wanna rock and roll all night, and party every day….
